I became a trucker to bring some travel and adventure into my days, but I never expected my classic rig would change my life so entirely.
Then old Spitfire drove us through a mysterious portal to a cutthroat and perilous world. Here, women warriors are owned by backers and pitted against one another in high-stakes arenas, and they’re not just fighting for glory.
They’re fighting for lots and lots of riches.
The only way to get my hands on my fair share is to duel a backer, kill him, and gain all his women warriors and possessions.
But that’s just the beginning.
These fierce women need a caring man who can turn them into legends and give them the best weapons money can buy.
So it’s time to train my fighters back on Earth, equip them with the best weapons I can buy, unleash them in the arenas, and get rich doing it.
And if they all want to become my lovers during the process, I’ll gladly accept.
The MC isnt a genius, but neither is he an idiot. He does gamble that a dimensional portal on a specific though remote exit off a highway will remain stable and accessible for his use. He acquires 2 warrior women and removes their handlers, freeing their slaves. He doesnt consider that despite their prowess, the warriors are so conditioned that they wont even hold a weapon outside the arena. Yet he “releases” the slaves to make their own ways, never considering that they have no skills, resources or even a mindset to accept that they can control the course of their lives. In addition to the “collateral damage”, there was also no thought of the unintended consequences of organisms or disease being transmitted in either direction, similar to the Spanish invasion that wiped out the Aztecs via disease transmission over and above the martial conquering. (I noticed this inattention to collateral damage in the author’s OP MC series as well, where the MC suffers from significant hubris, even to telling everyone he meets “I’m the god of time”.) It is refreshing that the MC has plans and has made connections to not just buy is dimensional hopping “classic” truck but is putting plans in place to buy his inept bosses’ business. A transportation company can, if scalable extra-dimensionally, really pay off supplying unavailable items: food stuffs, trade goods, transportation and communication between the cities on the desert world. Of course no metal or weaponizable items would be provided to usurp his good thing. Glad that he’s thinking long term, providing training and resources to improve his warriors’ skills as well as a taste of the good life that available to his cohorts. All things considered, l did enjoy and do recommend this book and am looking forward to reading the next installment.
I love these book concepts that I Clyde an Isekai element, but the characters are free to move between the modern earth and whatever works they find themselves in.
Much like Logan Jacobs Backyard Dungeons, Arena Road sees our MC using a truck he suspects of being magic to drive through a secret portal into a world of gladiatorial arena fights where woman fight for riches and glory for their backers, and the Men Duel to take what the other has, including their fighter women.
I can't wait to read the next book, and see more rights in the arena. And it makes me wonder, if there is one secret portal to the Arena Road, are there others hidden elsewhere?
Guess the only way to find out is to keep reading!
I've read some Logan Jacobs books before, so I knew what I was getting into.
The story goes like this. John is a trucker working for a company that has a terrible boss. He drives an old Marmon, and it has magical powers taking him to another world where women fight each other. Why? Well, does that really matter. Personally I don't think so.
The book is split between the other planet and Earth, but the biggest problem is the length. At 580 pages, the book is too long for such a simple story. They make three trips to the other world, while kitting out the girls on Earth.
I really like the way this book begins. It just feels right. It's wonderfully written and edited, as every book I have read from this author.
Things always seem to come together in a Logan Jacobs book. Usually, not the way you'd expect either. This book does a great job of keeping you interested and pushing things along in an ordered manner.
This story is a lot of fun. Our main character is a trucker and he inadvertently discovers a portal to another world. The adventures and the women he meets all lend to a exciting adventure story. I for one can't wait to see what happens next I hope the story continues.
The theme and plot were typical for this genre. The execution shows Mr. Jacobs is moving up to another level with an increased skill set. Characters were well developed and believable. You rapidly bond with them and root for them to win. At times a mix of action and poetry...Highly recommended.
A great new series I really like the new theme of bringing the fantasy women into the modern world in between trips to fight it breaks up the action but also allows the characters to grow with new experiences!
A wrong turn, mysterious fog leads John into an amazing adventure filled with action and spice in a brutal world where women warriors fight for glory. This is an excellent tale, that'll keep you turning pages! Really looking forward to the next book!
This story ebbs and flows a bit erratically, short action sequences followed by long drawn out description of the environment. The plot is interesting but the MC is generic and acts more like a narrator at times.
The story is well written, with the world of the MC being fleshed out well. Character development I done well and the story pulls you along. Do yourself a favor and enjoy this little gem.
Great start to a new series. The MC is John and is described as average in every way. Then the magical truck brings him to a crazy world. So of the descriptions of each city are disturbing but amazing as well! Recommended!
It seems like two diffe⅚rent authors wrote this book. One with action and romance, the other with rambling dialogue. As far as the characters and the action is concerned they are beyond great. I need to submit this review so I can get to the next episode.
Logan Jacobs surprises again with another clever book. I really like the approach of 2 stories unfolding in both the desert world and back on earth with MC and his ladies going back and forth! This is a winning formula can’t wait to read more.

Slow buildup to the harem part, but worth the wait. I particularly liked that the group was able to cross back and forth between Earth and the desert fight cities... Waiting eagerly for book 2...
As a huge fan of Arena, this caught my eye immidiately. I love the gladiator motif, and the joy of seeing a new world built with a new hero. This os a great start to what I hope us a continually inventive series.
Need to discuss the Damascus Steel. As with everything there is a quality component. If done correctly the higher the layer count the better the steel. I'd ask your smith for 500 layer. Otherwise he could be buying something k me 25 layer
OK it's been awhile since I've read anything by Mr. Jacob's, but darn the man can write a hell of a good book if the rest of the series is as good as the first book I can't wait for the next 😀
This was a truly fun and exciting read, the characters are really engaging and the whole stories concept is fun and entertaining! I eagerly await the next one!
If you like backyard dungeon, your gonna love this. There is enough difference to make it unique and the story has lots of possibilities for the future!
Action packed all the way with a good MC and a awesome harem with ever evolving characters this is a fantastic start to a series can’t wait to read more
