The series in general is good and it has a lot of potential if there was some editing and changes done. Like book 1&2 were great. This one was ehh.
There’s a lot of stuff that kept changing / conflicting with things from the previous books.
One example is in book one it’s discussed that meiying and Zheng are half siblings. Their mom is korean, meiyings dad is some type of shifter (however she takes after her mom animal wise) and her brothers dad is human making him part human..
then in book 2&3 it switched to her dad being human too, but that is not what was said in book 1.
Another example, like I mentioned above it’s stated they’re half Korean bc of their mom… but then in book 3 meiying talks about being half Chinese not Korean.
There were quite a few other similar changes which tbh is understandable as these were written once then completely revamped to turn supernatural but idk they just need to be edited again.

August 3, 2024Meh, this was my least favorite of the three stories. Both because I didn't really feel Des and Meiying's hot and cold, antagonistic relationship and because it's the only book to end on a cliffhanger. It felt half-finished. Plus, there's the whole fact that Des had been lusting after her (and more) since she was like 14. The world establishes that shifters are more tactile than humans and start experimenting earlier, but it was still squeaky as hell for me.
But I did think the writing was good, the dialogue especially. I'd be interested in finishing the series and reading more of Romero/Annett's writing.

Meiying is not liking the sorority her mother insisted she join. Her sorority sisters are faes and witches. No other shifters.
Desmond and the other guys are on a sports team that reminds me of the game played in another book.
Desmond is having a very hard time staying away from a grown Meiying. She is delighting in doing everything possible to get under his skin. Since his housemate is Zheng (Meiying’s brother) he’s constantly trying to hold himself and his wolf in check.
Then a devastating phone call comes in that rocks all their worlds. A family member is killed and one of them is on the verge of going rogue.
Read the book to find out what happens and how it’s dealt with.
I highly recommend this book and series.

Fantastic series.
I loved each of these books, but this one ends on a cliffhanger. Unfortunately, the next one doesn't seem to be out yet! Great urban fantasy. I love the series. I was immediately hooked on the characters. Each of the books can be stand alone but are enriched together.

Good beginning
This is only the start of Desmond and Meilieng's story! So be aware there will be another book! A lot of icy scenes that I skip, but some heartache also. Interesting read!

I’m disappointed it’s a cliffy and no mention of it being a duet when I started this. And it looks like there no planned second part too :(

Bien contante d’avoir un Tome avec Des 😍 , mais merde c’est comme un coït interrompu. L’histoire s’arrête tout d’un coup sans avertissement, ça laisse un goût inachevé. Les deux premiers tomes avaient un début et une fin. LAAAAA que dalle.
