Working as hired prey for rich men is risky, but getting kidnapped from Prey Island by two big, bearded Russians isn’t in my job description. Once Bron and Ilya have me in their clutches, they offer me a contract they won’t let me refuse.
Worse, they’re exactly my type.
Now I’m the test subject in Bron’s final push to teach Ilya how to be a ‘real man’. Without me, their exile on a rugged island in northern Russia may become a life sentence. Their toxic relationship intrigues me. To my dismay, soon I’m struggling not to fall in love with both men and their rough, overbearing attentions.
When we visit Ilya’s ruthless family, I pose as his fiancée to prove he's changed. Secrets are exposed. Deadly chaos reigns.
The three of us have struggled to create a life together, but a storm is coming.
Sorcha Black writes kink romance, both alone and co-written under the name Sparrow Beckett. When she's not writing, she's generally avoiding housework and planning her next tattoo. Sorcha lives in Canada with her husband and their horde of witty children.
I sound like a broken record but this author has the knack for writing stories I usually would despise. Dark and depraved romances are my least favorite, so why don't I have an issue with this? After a lot of thought, I believe it's because of the element of vulnerability displayed by these disturbed characters. Plus the storyline was exhilarating and so fucking hot.
Why was my body so stupid? I should hate these men, not find them and their crude handling arousing.
Rough Exile spins off from the previous book Prey Island. Although a standalone, it's so worth reading both. Taken from an Island for the wealthy who indulge in woman paid to be prey; it makes no sense. Yet these are the circumstances Delilah finds herself in. Not one to be easily manipulated, her kidnapping quickly becomes an agreement.
“This beautiful body is my toy now, De-li-lah,” he grumbled, his voice deliciously dark. “Any hole, anytime I please. Mine.”
Bron and Ilya have selected Delilah for a reason, well many as the story unfolds. Knowing that money drives her, it isn't too difficult to get her onboard with what these two men need. Initially it's a human sex doll to be used, abused and indulged until the truth is revealed. Even if Bron and Ilya already have a toxic relationship in place, Delilah unexpectedly fits in with their dynamics. It's not long before they want to keep her for real.
“Such a hot little slut,” he said with an amused sneer. “Is there anything you won’t fuck?”
“I don’t know. At one point I would have said you, but here we are.”
This would have to be one of the most disturbing love stories you will read. And trust me, it doesn't feel like love for a very long time. These are two bisexual men exiled on a Russian Island, and Delilah is just a means to an end. But Ilya is starved for affection, Bron is buried in denial and Delilah has been shamed far too many times. Their situation is messed up but so are they. I guess that's why it works.
Triggers?! There are so many, where would you start? It's depraved and dirty so envision sex slave meets feral kinksters with far too much money. But when you strip away the wrongness and the debauchery, there is definitely a desire for love. It just looks differently to them.
ARC provided by author in exchange for my honest opinion.
GAH!! LOVED this one. LOVED it! A LOT. I loved Bron, Ilya AND De-li-lah (& I don't like most heroines). I found the characters as written to be fascinating, the plot excited & enthralled me & kept me reading this one non-stop & I could not put it down. I found the writing to be excellent with a smooth flow as well as a perfect blend of sizzle, angst & suspense. I thought Ms. Black did a beautifully subtle & skilled slow build up of all 3 main characters but especially of Bron & Ilya: neither of these rough, tough, hard men turned out the way I expected & for as brutal as they initially seemed, the reader is given heartrending peeks into just what made them into the men they were as well as the depth of emotion, caring & honor their jagged abrasive aggressive personas hide. Honestly the author made my heart melt for both of these men & I especially loved how Delilah was the PERFECT woman for them!! An absolutely fantastic book I will definitely REREAD. Often.
Yikes! What a twisted story. The title is no joke, it's rough. Luckily they picked a girl who likes it that way. The book is an emotional rollercoaster for the entire cast of characters and me as a reader. I don't like to post spoilers, but I'm just thankful that all of my stomach rolls were worth the sweetest HEA.
Please pay attention to the trigger warnings. This isn't a fluffy read. It's DARK, so deliciously dark, and full of twists. The characters are complex and their story is even more so. This story is the second book in the Chase Islands series and even though you can probably enjoy it on its own, it will make more sense if you read Prey Island first. There is some slight overlay with the beginning of the book, and some character mentions, and it kind of explains the why of some of the actions, but this one is also removed from Prey Island in a lot of ways. It's a very intense read, from beginning to end, and I loved that the dark themes were carried throughout the whole book. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I found myself holding my breath without realizing it. It's sexy, disturbing (in the best way), and left me feeling satisfied and smiling. If you don't have any triggers, then you won't want to miss this one.
Sorcha Black’s Rough Exile starts out on Prey Island and runs slightly parallel to the end of that story before diving in to Delilah, Bron, and Ilya’s story. THIS is a delightful bit of fuckery that dances, make that bulldozes, around certain taboos and I can’t begin to express how enjoyable it was. Everything about this relationship is socially “wrong” and that’s what makes it so damn good.
If you haven’t read Prey Island yet, I highly recommend starting there as this story will make more sense. Well, some of it will. At the very least, it will set you up for the potential fuckery that will take place. But then again, it could all be a red herring in terms of setting up expectations for this story (cackles). Bron and Ilya are fabulous toxic alphas. Delilah’s sense of responsibility to her siblings and parents is applaudable and I loved how much she wanted to help them, but at the expense of her own happiness. Their character interactions are both wrong (so very wrong) and so very right (hot-hot-hot). The intensity of their interactions are downright delicious in ways that probably indicates that I need therapy. Very much recommended.
It's not often I read MMF books, but since being introduced to this author's writing via the Badass Brats series, (FFM) I've devoured almost everything she has written.
Well damnnnnnn this one sort of messed me up. I loved it and hated it at the same time. Very conflicting.
⚠️⚠️⚠️ very spoiler-y review ahead ⚠️⚠️⚠️
Things I liked: - almost every single thing about Ilya. He’s so sweet!!! I never thought I’d read a character so sweet in a book so messed up 😂 I truly loved how much of a softie he was. I felt like Ilya and Delilah had such a gorgeous connection and they made a cute couple. Honestly, Bron could have fucked off and it would have been a nicer relationship. - Delilah in general. She is a badass. - Ilya being a lil baby PinV virgin and all the teaching moments - the overarching plot resolution
Things I didn’t like: - almost every single thing about Bron. Lmaoooooo. Yeah… he just. Nah. His brand of sadism would have been hotter and more tolerable had he given a single rats ass about consent but he doesn’t. At all. He’s also a MASSIVE DICK not only to poor Delilah but also to Ilya which Ilya doesn’t deserve. He fucked that poor boy up. He only gets a half tolerable personality in the last 15% of the book at which point I found him mostly irredeemable. - the “contract”*** - the drugging at the beginning 😒 poor Delilah - her being groped at the club. POOR DELILAH. She didn’t consent to that and it triggered her, which they would have known if they ever discussed her boundaries or her history at all ever. But again, NO CONSENT. - the ‘incest but not really’ storyline because that creeped me the fuck out for a good while there before it was resolved. Would have been a great way to get rid of Bron tho HAHA - the marriage Delilah was literally tricked into. I would have LOST MY EVER-LOVING MIND if these motherfuckers did this to me. I was so frustrated at their consummation scene afterwards too 😒 why do they never take how she feels about anything seriously? Ugh. So dismissive of her in almost every situation.
***How can Delilah consent to her contract with them if she’s told she will be taken either way? That’s just giving her a false sense of decision making. She’s given no real options. She’s also not offered a safe word at any point, unlike on the island, so she’s not given any fallback if she decides things have gone too far. At one point SHE tells ILYA her safe word but not Bron, but even then it’s not discussed in a way that makes it clear the boys agree to it so can she even trust that they’d stop if she used it? Would Bron even recognise it? That guys a fucking asshole.
At around the 60% mark I almost DNFd it cause I felt distressed at the things that were happening to her without proper consent in place but it was worth it push through for the ending. I appreciated how the whole thing got tidied up and how the plot twist was revealed, even though it was a bit predictable.
Also idk what happened to Clover but I hope there isn’t a book about her because I cannot even imagine trying to romanticise that poor girl being trafficked 😒😒😒

If you didn't read book 1, the author explains what happened to the heroine pretty well. But you do wish her entire friendship with Lane, the heroine from book 1.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
Hero is in a male/male relationship with his bodyguard. Hero is the son of a mafia guy in Russia. His dad forces him to live on an island with the bodyguard to learn how to be a real man. So they have a farm, chop firewood, fish, bake, etc.
Hero has never been with a woman, his only lover has been the male bodyguard. So the two of them went to Prey Island (book 1) to be with a woman.
They don't ask heroine at first. They kidnap her, then tell her what they want. After they offer her $500,000 she agrees to do it. They kidnap her, put her on a boat with a hood over her head, keep her drugged for days, and rape her.
Basically hero is constantly having rough sex with his male bodyguard. Eventually they bring in the heroine too. They like to hunt her and catch her and do whatever to her.
Basically everything is always very rough. But heroine likes it that way.
She ends up married to the hero (son of mafia guy) but they both refer to her as their wife and insist they are a threesome permanently.
This book is dark, twisted, taboo, and not for all. Please read the trigger warnings. Love all the books by Sorcha Black and this series where women are hunted as prey, is yum yum yum. It is rough, but there is some growth by both Bron, and Ilya. For Deliliah, I don’t think she really healed or addressed some of the things brought up in the book, it was more or less oh well and move on. But otherwise, I loved how this flowed and that ending.
I feel like I can't really write the review I want to because Amazon probably would not approve it. If you loved Prey Island, you definitely want to read this book. You will be doing yourself a disserve by not reading this book. Just read it. Make yourself happy.
OMG! This was an amazingly dark and depraved romance that was utterly exciting, titillating and filthy. The characters were fascinating and brought a level of exhilaration to the story that kept me up late at night reading. I could not put this one down. I loved how brutal and tough these men were and how perfect Dalilah was for them. Their relationship was filthy, erotic, depraved and so damn steamy that it literally had my panties exploding.
I loved every second of this very deliciously hedonistic story and I can’t wait to see what Sorcha gives us next!
Having met De-li-lah in Prey Island I have been desperate to find out just where she had disappeared to! I was expecting a well written, dark and scorching hot story and whilst it didn't feel quite as dark as I had anticipated this was certainly very twisted. The author,Sorcha Black, is the Queen of kinky MMF, always delivering two wonderful alpha male heroes and a strong, feisty heroine all wrapped up in a steamy escapist read.
And I say escapist because several events bordered on far-fetched, such as If you are a reader who can let those moments go, enjoying fiction as fiction, you will find a captivating story, great characters, and wonderful prose.
Whilst Delilah's life wasn't terrible, it wasn't a bed of roses either. Drudgery and tough decisions ruled her life and the fact that she viewed her visits to the Island as a vacation tells you everything we never see about that life. Bron and Ilya are stuck on a cold, remote island until Ilya can prove his worth to his father.
I have to say, I didn't quite understand why the pair of them hadn't decided to just make their own way in life. I'm not a fan of the hero being under his father's control trope and even more so when that power is linked to daddy holding the purse strings. Is Ilya, a grown man, really not capable of earning a living for himself? Perhaps I was meant to conclude that it was a convenient excuse for Bron and Ilya to hide behind since they were in truth very content with the status quo even if they were unwilling to admit that.
Whilst the premise was somewhat akin to Prey Island (MMF, one male much more dominant, and a woman who was fair game for anything due to agreed CNC) this thruple not only had a very different dynamic but also evolved in a markedly different way. I loved the intensity of the connection between Bron and Ilya, it was passionate, all-consuming and heart-achingly beautiful. The introduction of Delilah into it muddied the waters at first, but as the silt settled what was left behind was even more perfect and it was made all the better because my worries this book would be a rehash of the power structure of the previous one was clearly unfounded.
Now I just have to wait to find out what happened to Clover.
Rough Exile picks up with the events near the end of Prey Island. Delilah is taken captive by the Russians. Lanie was supposed to be their insurance policy to make her cooperate, but Lanie was saved by her men, Ajax and Calder, at the end of the previous book. The men who kidnapped Delilah have been on the island, and Delilah has tried seducing them to no effect. She finds them dangerously attractive, even through Bron insults her for selling herself.
Bron and Ilya are in their own relationship and it is Bron's job to make Ilya into a man. I don't think Ilya's father would agree with his methods. Ilya is in love with Bron, but needs to find a woman to prove to his father he can earn his inheritance. Bron plans everything out and gets Delilah's cooperation. They take her to a remote Russian island, where they have been exiled until Ilya is called to meet his father. Delilah is subject to many of the same games and manipulations as on the island, but is finding that Ilya has been mistreated even more by Bron. And through all that, Ilya still loves him. He feels that he is weak, but doesn't lose his kindness in the brutal training he has gone through. Delilah easily falls in love with him, Bron is a little harder to love.
When the time comes for Ilya to prove to his father that he is worthy of his respect, he, Bron, and Delilah go to Moscow. Delilah is introduced as his fiancé and in less than an evening becomes his wife. Along with this twist, Ilya and Bron get relationship destroying revelations. Whether they can move past it is something that has to get resolved. One thing that isn't in question is the men's dedication to protect Delilah. It is Ilya who comes to her rescue and through his brutal actions sets the trio on their way to a HEA.
As with all of Sorcha's books there are plenty of dirty, steamy scenes. I love Ilya's naivete when a new s€xual experience is introduced, but he goes for it letting his dominant side out. There is a scene with a fishing net, in the forest, that is pretty hot.
As I mentioned in the previous review of Prey Island, the author uses the same archetypes as her other MMF books. However, I will say Bron the alpha dom in the trio shows more vulnerability than the characters in her other books. And my heart broke for Ilya, he was so vulnerable and never felt like he was good enough. I was worried that he would do something drastic with the revelation his father dropped on them. I think his love for Delilah was the only thing keeping him from doing something to harm himself.

I’ll be 100% honest and say that this was not the book I thought I was going to be reading next. Not because I didn’t think I was going to like it, although it would be though to beat the first one. It was more due to the fact that, for some reason, I wasn’t yet super invested in the story to jump straight into it and thought that, perhaps, I should take a break from this universe. So, I was just going to put it to the side for a little bit and do some reading in between.
But…, due to the fact that, for me, nothing ever seems to go according to any sort of planning, my mind kept drifting to this title, continually making me second-guess myself over that choice.
And now, here we are. Yup, 5 stars. All the way. Man, when I tell you, I couldn’t’ve been more wrong.
Sure, I’ll confess that the first few pages were tricky to get into, mainly because I had this idea that I wouldn’t love this plot it as much as Prey Island, but then things did a full 180. So, where to start? Delilah, unlike Lane, isn’t new to the kink world, and if didn’t already have that prior notion, you’ll soon be put up to speed by yours truly. I find her sexual liberation, self-knowledge and candid, no-nonsense approach to this life-style, her past and present, absolutely refreshing and commendable.
As for Ilya and Bron, talk about tension. Yikes. The dynamic changes pretty much immediately after Delilah enters the scene and things are stirred up! Ilya is sweeter, loving and practically a novice. Bron, on the other hand, is a jerk. A big, imposing, hot AF jerk. But come on, how can you not love an a-hole? No?! Just me? Okay, then. Whatever.
Just know this: when you’re in the middle of these pages and the relationship develops, remember me: you’ll know what I mean when I say that the most satisfying of happy ending where everyone gets what they want, and the alphahole is still a bit of an alphahole – or a ton of an alphahole. Do you know what I mean? Maybe not. Forget it. It’s a moot point anyway: just go and check out this series.
Although the characters were introduced or mentioned to various degrees in Prey Island, Rough Exile reads as a standalone, though you might find a few spoilers here and there for Prey Island, particularly in the end of this book. Other that that, I’d say you can read one without the other, and in any order, but obviously, considering my rating for the series, I would suggest reading it in its entirety and the correct order.
4.40 for Rough Exile!! Loooove everything about reading this book!!! It’s everything even better than the first one which I thought really good, but this dear is a total 100/10 upgrade. The details of a lot of kinky scenes MMF (which I am not complaining) , the actual chase is EVERYTHING! erotic BDSM romance to the T👌🏻. The development in each character was so visible, involving the tragic childhood they went through, they moving to the family (I was like what? I really did not expect THAT!!), then the plot twists I was shocked to the core was not even close to predict anything! Because hello who am I to predict when I was deeply engrossed in such a piece of shocking story. As ironic as my next statements will be but I don’t care! I love their toxic relationship dynamic that they built, I love that she still argue with them and they still surprise and dominate her, and she still resist and fight them off. I didn’t expect this upgrade from the previous series, the emotions this one released through the characters that the previous book didn’t show. The amount of details and time given their relationship to grow. The MFC De.Li. La was surprisingly emotional (not much though) unlike Lane, even the both MMCs they even showed emotions regardless their toughest, Bron and Ilya were everything ( I loved those moments, when the layers peeled off in front of each others). I really look and wish for Clovers story anytime soon and I think after this amazing full of developments and plot twists and darkness, steam and kinks I won’t even bother to think because I know for sure the author will release a bombing surprise.
I don't think I revealed any major plot twists but I would rather give a spoiler warning, JIC.
I really liked this one. I felt the connection between the characters. It felt like their relationship grew more enriched with time. To the FMC it was just supposed to be a transactional situation but she gets tricked into marrying one of the two men but both of the men have really chosen her. That's revealed when you find out how long they have been searching for a woman to make Ilya "a man" in his father's eyes. I loved the male/male/female dynamic.
Ilya, is incredibly sweet with a dark streak and it is impossible not to fall in love with him. Though Bron is much more difficult to read because he hides his feelings, you see that he really cares for both of his charges and has been in love with Ilya for a long time. It's impressive when he openly shows his love. It does NOT make him soft. He's a sadistic bastard but we love him anyway.
This story had me giggling, smiling and even tearing up. I can't wait for the next story from this author. I never thought I would enjoy the relationship dynamic between two men but I love these stories told by this author. They make me believe that "3" is the magic number and I want my own set of brutes.
The author revisits the threesome from the 1st novel in this series but they still just leave a bad taste in my mouth, a squicky feeling in my gut but I'm glad that both FMCs were able to see each other.

3.5-4 ⭐️ I always enjoy this author's writing style which is kind of spare so it reads quickly. Though that was the case as far as writing goes this time my mood let me down and I struggled to read this in a timely manner. I think this was mostly my issue though.
This is the second book in the Chase Islands series and centers on a secondary character in the first book, Delilah. It doesn't really go into detail explaining the island and what goes on there in the first book. Small references are made to it throughout and you can definitely glean the gist, but for me personally I would say you should read book one first to get the full picture.
They both feature CNC, one of my favorite kinks, and elements of primal play. There are a lot of "smutty" encounters in the book, though many of them are very brief. I liked the dynamics between the trio and of the sexy stuff, but owing to the spare writing I wouldn't say the emotional development is there, and the plot as a whole is lightly developed.
That isn't a deal breaker for me when I like the story, smut and voice so though my mood is meh and the fact it took me so long to read this average length book makes me thing I should round down, all of the things I liked about this book and knowing I would enjoy it more at another time (and will likely read again someday) and would read more set in this world lead me to round up.
And now we have Deliliah’s story **** Rating: 4 stars Steam: 4 flames Genre: Dark, MMF, Kinky Fake Girlfriend, Anti-hero Triggers: Yes ***** After Deliliah's mysterious disappearance from the island at the end of the first book, we finally get some answers. What happened? Bron and Ilya, two burly Russian men, decided they needed her "services" and abducted her.
This story is a little messed up. The relationship between Bron and Illya is clearly unhealthy, and now they're bringing Deliliah to their private island. As time progresses, the truth about why they require Deliliah will emerge. These three will need to do some serious introspection and peel back many layers to get to the bottom of things and start being honest with one another.
The plot intrigued me, and in some perverse way, I even felt a kinship with the characters. If you like your romances dark, toxic, and dirty with a dash of suspense, then this book is for you.
Do I recommend? I liked both books, so yes. Will I keep reading? Yep, I need to know what happened to Clover so I will definitely read book 3.
Hot, Hot, Hot! You have to read Prey Island before you read this to fully understand the stories background. I really enjoyed this story better than Prey Island. I like Delilah's HEA better than Lanies (I personally wouldn't like being a "sex slave"). Delilah seemed more at the core of her relationship with her men. I could barely put down this book. If I didn't have work and children, I could have been able to read it in a 24 hour period. The story starts where Delilah's story ended in Prey Island. She finds herself kidnapped by her 2 dangerously hot stalkers. Delilah signs a one year contract to be used by the 2 men for all intents and purposes. Her goal is to get Ilya ready to meet his dad and prove his "manliness". Bron is an asshat who is in complete denial of his own emotions. Ilya is sweet and caring yet he has his own kinks he can't say no to and neither can Delilah. There is definitely a plot twist which NO ONE can expect towards the end of the book, but OH MY is it GOOD! Touch her and die Con/non con Attempted Rape BDSM Slow Burn Enemy To Lovers Virgin Bisexual
Rough Exile starts out on Prey Island and runs slightly parallel to the end of that story before diving in to Delilah, Bron and Ilya’s story. If you haven’t read Prey Island yet, I highly recommend starting there as this story will make more sense.
If you loved Prey Island, and why wouldn’t you, and wanted to find out what happened to De-li-lah then this is for you. You know what to expect. This isn’t going to be a fluffy, unicorn, lollipop, cuddly kitten read. It’s going to be filled with sexy, rough, dominant, kinky, very kinky men and a women who wouldn’t want it any other way. There’s some kidnapping, coercion, a family whose picture should be in the dictionary next to the word dysfunction, murder, mayhem and lots and lots of hot, filthy, kinky sex.But there’s also a fair amount of sweetness, tenderness and love. Sorcha Black is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors and it’s because of stories like this. If you don’t mind the darkness grab this book and dive in. Plus look at that cover. Holy freaking god that’s an amazing cover. I want to blow it up and plaster it on my bedroom ceiling.
This is the second book in this series it can be read as a standalone, but both books are dark and intense, I do recommend reading them both. Delilah has been coming to Prey Island to get hunted down and play games with powerful men. Two of those men opt to kidnap her and offer her a contract to be theirs as she helps Ilya to be become the man his father will be proud of. At they spend time together on the desolate island where Ilya and Bron live, they become closer and soon sparks are flying between all three of them. Loads of drama, suspense, intrigue and twists and turn. This is a M/M, M/M/F, M/F read with intense chemistry, amazing characters with lots of depth and entertaining story that draws you in from beginning to end. I loved it! Looking forward to more in the series.
Let me start by saying the low rating isn’t because of the subject matter. I knew why I was getting into so there’s no issue there, but the writing is lackluster to say the least.
It wasn’t bad enough for me to put it down, and held my interest for the 5 hours it took to read it.
It felt like nothing really happened throughout the whole book. There were about five minutes with some genuine conflict, but apart from that, it’s basically a book about nothing. The author doesn’t describe the settings or the characters well so there’s a lot of blanks to fill in.
If you want a quick, dirty read, I’d say go ahead and read it, but this isn’t a book I’d label as a must read.
What an absolute thrilling ride this was! Delilah’s story begins in Prey Island, which I also recommend if you haven’t read it.
There are some trigger warnings, so check those out since this story does go a bit dark. I love reading intense stories and Sorcha did an amazing job with these characters, disturbing and depraved…yes, and I loved it all.
So intense from the beginning to the end as each brings forth a certain passion to this relationship. Bron, Ilya and Delilah at first doesn’t seem they will mesh, but by the end, the three are perfect for each other.
I sure hope there is more to come in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
First I Didn't even want to read this book because I didn't like Delilah the character in the 1st book and I was kind of skeptical of her character bill because she was described as sexy and beautiful and I could relate to Didn't even want to read this book because I didn't like Delilah the character in the 1st book and I was kind of skeptical of her character bill because she was described as sexy and beautiful and I could relate to Lannie in the last book I mean Then it got gruesome then I got sexy then I got A plot twist that I didn't see come in then it became okay again and then the end I need more of these books.
