Mike Evans lives in Iowa with his wife, children, and two adopted dogs Rusty and Harley Quinn. He writes with a passion to bring his characters to life, to make you fall in love with them, and then make you flip pages to find out if they’ll survive or perish. He keeps his characters realistic, there are no superheroes. There are no perfect characters in his books, everyone has their flaws much like that of life. Mike loves to write in different genres and is unafraid to try something new.

The killers tasked with killing Alex 'Gabriel' Fletcher missed, killing his wife instead. Bad mistake! After making sure that son Michael was safe, Gabriel reaches out and touches the CIA bosses who ordered the hit that killed his wife. The 'touch' is a pellet of lead that rushes them to the afterlife. He 'touches' everyone involved in that unfortunate act. With his son's future safe in the hands of his friend, Gabriel pursues the a--holes that look to collect the bounty on his son and himself. Gabriel's hands are soaked the blood of multiple bad guys, but they knew what they faced when set against him.

Gabriel is truly the CIA's Angel of Death. They trained him to be relentless, ruthless and lethal, with or without weapons. The characters and storyline are amazing, non-stop action. This is a great read!

Really liked this book. There is non stop action, drama and suspense. I was hooked from the first page. The story moves along at a fast pace because there is so much going on. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who likes a really good non stop adrenaline suspense filled thriller.

Gabriel ( Jacob August) an assassin for hire is a former CIA operative. After an attack on his family and the murder of his wife, Gabriel is out for revenge. Trying to keep his enemies away from his young son Mikey he entrusts the care of Mikey to his friend Forsyth. As Gabriel is trying to exact his revenge on those who deserve it, and get back to his , he becomes the hunted. Forsyth and Mikey find themselves being hunted as well. Yes, there is a lot of violence in the book but in each situation it is deserved. The name of the book is Body Count so violence should be expected.

I did not realize this was the 3rd book in the series until I started listening to it. You should probably listen to the first 2 in the series before listening to this one, but personally I don't think it's a must. It was pretty easy to get caught up with what is going on in the story. The main reason I would say to listen to the previous books is that if they are as good as this book it would be worth your time, as well as fill in some details.

S.W. Salzman did a good job with the narration of this story. His female voices could use a little work. There is not a lot of difference in the male voices except when there is an accent but how many different male voices can you really do when most of the cast is male. Nice even pace and clear pronunciation. A few times the short pauses between characters were a little off. Overall it was a good job. He has a nice deep voice that fits the story and the badass that is the main character. It would really be off putting if you had an assassin with a high pitched voice.

Mike Evens is a new author to me and I will be putting his other books on my list of books to listen to as well as going back and listening to the 2 previous books in this series.

Everything was finally right for Gabriel, until those few seconds that changed everything, everything for so many because of one stupid decision. One that will need to be repaid.

This was a exciting book so much action and of course you are always rooting for Gabriel and his friends, and the suspense, sometimes I think I could have used a knife on it. This is a wonderful book and if you are lucky enough to have the audio narrated by Mr. Salzman than you are really in for a treat as he seems to transform you right into the story where you can watch it all happen right up front, Mr. Salzman and Mr. Evans make a awesome team and I am glad they have teamed up in this series, it make for a great experience for us the reader/listener.

I stupidly didn't realize at first that this was the 3rd book in the series. It seemed like I was probably missing some information and background, but was still able to keep up with the story pretty well. I would definitely like to check out the next one in the series!

The narrator was awesome & made the story even better.

This book picks up right from where Pitch Black the second book in the series ends and Gabriel is on a mission. The title says it all as the body count rises as people are still stupid enough to think they can actually stop Gabriel. This is one hell of a roller coaster ride of non stop action with lots of violence and blood and I still love Gabriel. If you love the crime genre this is definitely a series for you. You will not be disappointed.

This book is supposed to be #3 in a series. I am guessing you probably need to listen to the first two for this to make sense. There is a lot of action, and suspense.

The narration was well done. The characters were excellently portrayed.

Thrill ride

This book is one of Mike Evans best so far. It is filled with non stop action that got my adrenaline rushing. I hope that there will be a fourth book in this series. Hollywood should make this series into a movie!!
