Kathryn Shea’s life would be the envy of many. She’s a tenured instructor at the local community college. She lives in the resort town of Bethany Beach. Her cottage is a stone’s throw from the ocean.
It’s ideal. And predictable. And maybe even boring.
Austin McGinnis’s parents sent him to Bethany Beach to manage their rental properties and get his grades up so he can return to his Ivy League college in the fall. His plans to sleep late and spend weekends with his girlfriend are upended when he is called to repair a fence damaged by partiers at one of their properties.
The caller is Kathryn Shea.
The beginning is contentious, but while rebuilding the fence, Austin is also building a relationship with Kathryn. From lemonade on the front porch to dancing at a country dive bar, the two awaken something in each other that neither realized was missing.
The only barrier is a fifteen-year age difference. Is it too much? Austin is the same age as some of Kathryn’s students. She’s been married and divorced. He still attends fraternity formals. She teaches college courses; he takes them. Her friends wonder what she sees in him. Will his family feel the same?
Or can the spark between them grow into something deeper?
A heartwarming story of how love can overcome anything.

MEET PAUL AND ROBIN WOOTTEN, THE COUPLE BEHIND EVERY ROBIN PAUL HOLIDAY ROMANCE
Robin is a nurse, mom, and Mimi whose love for romance creates the ideas behind the stories. Her day job as a nurse has evolved from being a labor and delivery nurse to traveling around the world teaching future doctors and nurses about keeping patients safe. When not cooking or spending time with her five grandkids, Robin enjoys reading a great romance novel at the beach, or curling up on the couch for a weekend afternoon of Hallmark movies.
Paul is the guy who puts the words on paper. He became a full-time writer in 2015 and published seven books before collaborating with Robin. He previously worked as a teacher, school administrator, and in various capacities for the Kansas City Royals. He likes reading, movies, and rooting for the Royals and Tampa Bay Rays. He and Robin split their time between Lakewood Ranch, Florida and Kansas City.
I’m not going to let the authors get away by just saying it’s a romance book this really is a wonderful story on par with other modern novels that are more well known. This story brought me such joy and happiness - it was beautifully written. The characters were relatable and enjoyable. Definitely one of the best books I’ve read in a while. I recently read the garland books by the author and they were good as well but this books was special. Two thumbs way up :)
This. Is a story about people who are different ages, but as the title suggests, they drift together in a beautiful journey of finding their true selves. Very enjoyable reading.
