Part 1

3 💘💥🤔⭐️s

An interesting suspenseful romance read.
Willow and Ronan were nice and relatable characters. Their story was well written, yet very predictable.
While it was slow burn, they exchanged I-love-yous pretty fast.
The ending was rushed and wrapped up quickly.

New series and once again A. Rivers has managed to capture my attention from the first page. We still have all the alpha male and strong and crafty females that will sweep you off your feet.

Willow and Ronan are like water and oil at the beginning. She wants to save her father's legacy, not knowing that's what Ronan is trying to do also. Ronan is drawn to her the moment he recognizes her while she is snooping in his office. He sees something and is determined to find out what makes her tick. Willow on the other hand has had a crush on him since she was a teenager. The more time they spend together and when danger is lurking to take her from him, he will stop at nothing to make sure she's safe and in his arms.

This was a great start to the series. But I'm sure the best is yet to come as Ronan's business partners seem to have a lure surrounding them which makes this series more interesting to look forward to.

Ronan was working for Willow's father at their security company until said father passed away, and the company went to Willow's brother, Tom. Tom hated Ronan so the moment he took over the company, he fired Ronan as the first order of business. Ton is running Lennox Securities into the ground so Ronan is planning to take it over until Willow gets involved. Willow has had a thing for Ronan for a long time, but since she believes Ronan is planning something, she decides to take matters into her own hands, but she's caught. Now she's working at King Securities for Ronan, but her brother's bad decisions have come for Willow, so Ronan has her staying with him, and you already know the close proximity is going to develop some fun things. Of course since Willow is clearly in the crosshairs of something that has people after her, will Ronan be able to keep her safe?! I love me some suspense, and add in a security company with a bunch of hot alphas, well sign me up every time. I'm super excited about this new series as The King was awesome so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

okay read

An okay read that had more potential. Characters were likeable apart from the brother and his associate. Would have liked a bit more brains from the female lead but was an okay read.

3.5 Stars for me!

I enjoyed this story and it was a solid 4 Star listen for me until the last hour. The h goes to the land of TSTL after making mostly good decisions throughout the story. I know it was done to add suspense but it was one ending too many for me. Still worth the listen/read.

It started interesting but it lacked energy? Vibes? The two MCs connection wasn’t all there and their conversations fell flat most of the time and more like business talk.

A. Rivers has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Willow and Ronan. Willow and Ronan work for the same type of company. Willow works with her brother Tom at Lennox Securities and Ronan owns King Securities. Ronan had worked for Lennox until Tom took over when his father passed away and fired Ronan. Tom is not running the company right and Ronan plans a hostile takeover. Willow knows Ronan is planning something but not what. So she breaks into his office to see if she can find out what he is planning. Things don't go as planned and she is caught. Tom is not happy when he finds this out. Ronan is talking to his partners Kade and Zeke and Zeke said, Why don't you offer her a job?" Ronan thinks about this and finally agrees to do it. Fiona, Ronan's assistant calls Willow and tells her that Ronan wants to meet with her. When Willow gets to Ronan's office, they talk for a little while and he offers her a job. At first, she turns him down. Ronan tells her that if she works for him for a month and can tell him that her father's company would be in better hands with Tom then he would think about not taking it over. She tells him she would have to think about it. Ronan said he needed her answer by the end of the day. When she goes back to tell Tom, he tells her that she would not do it. Willow explains that she could look for information and still, Tom tells her no. Willow decides to go ahead and accept Ronan's offer. She calls Ronan and lets him know she would start in two weeks. Things don't go as planned and Tom calls after he gets her notice and tells her not to come in the next morning. There are things that Willow doesn't know about her brother and she thinks he is having her followed. Things are going well for Willow at work now. She is enjoying what she is doing. She is trying to not allow what she feels for Ronan to show. She has had feelings for him for a long time. Willow and Sage, her roommate are at home when three men break in and tie them up. This is when Willow finds out that Tom owes someone a lot of money and they are taking it out on Willow. Willow tries to call Tom to let him know what happened but she can't get him. Sage wants to call the police but Willow talks her out of it until she talks to Tom. Willow goes into work and is looking for something when Ronan catches her. He sees her face and wants to know what happened. She tells him that she can't tell him and that what she is doing is not what it looks like. When she leaves, someone tries to grab her and Ronan saves her. This time he gets the answers as to what is going on. The police are called. Ronan tells Willow that until they find out who was after her that he would like for her to stay with him. She tells him that she is not sure about that since she has to worry about Sage also. Ronan tells her that she could stay there also. Willow calls Sage and tells her that someone was coming to get her and she would explain when she saw her. When Sage gets there, Willow explains what is going on and Sage tells her that she can go and see her grandparents. Kade offers to take Sage to her grandparents.
Can Willow and Ronan find out who is after her and why?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

1.5* Willow is a doormat, she’s supposed to be incredibly intelligent yet she can’t seem to figure anything out. Loads of mistakes, and don’t get me started on their relationship.’

I’m sorry but I hated this book. There was way too many things wrong with it, and I gave up trying to figure it out. In parts it’s okay but it’s a small part. Willow is the daughter of Lennox who owns a very successful security company. Ronan is Lennox’s protege and Willows secret crush. When her father dies leaving the company to her older brother Tom, he instantly fires Ronan as he hates him. I’ve no idea how many years later it is as it doesn’t say, Ronan is now running his own successful business and Lennox’s security firm is going under. Tom for some bizarre reason blames it all on Ronan and thinks he’s doing something to take all his customers, and the doormat Willow agrees. This is the start of the most stupid plot ever. Willow breaks into the security firm and Ronan’s office 😂😂😂 so she can find out information. WTAF??? What does she think she’ll find? Is she that stupid that she thinks that he’ll have a file in Tom just laying around? Of course he catches her, and he doesn’t ring the police. 🙄🙄 Then onto the next stupid plot. Zeke one of Ronan’s partner thinks up the genius plan of employing Willow in their company and see if they can convince her to give up on her brother and help them to take Lennox security. 😂😂😂😂😂 I can’t take it. Tom has already sold 30% of the company yet Ronan later on buys Tom’s company shares and apparently owns the company. HOW???? TOM HAD SOLD THIRTY PERCENT OF THE COMPANY!!! 😡😡😡. Willow agrees to take the job as she’ll be spying for her brother. When Willow finally develops a moral compass and realises that she’s acting like an idiot, she stops spying. Not that she ever finds anything out. Willow is a complete doormat to her brother who just uses her, and he’s stolen her inheritance which was a lot of money. It never explains what Tom did with all the money, as their dad was extremely wealthy and owned several properties, WHERE DID ALL THE MONEY GO?? Why did Willow just put up with her brother treating her like 💩 all the way through the book? Making her go on dates with men that she hates, then trying to force her to marry a man who is 30 years older!

While all this is going on Willow now has a stalker who follows her around and takes pictures of her. Ronan finds out and places a security guard on her, who miraculously disappears later on when her and her roomate are attacked in their apartment. I can’t do this I’m sorry. It’s awful. Somehow Ronan and Willow are now in love and it’s so bizarre. One minute they’re spying on each other, the next they’re in love. 😂😂😂

I’m not even going to try to read anymore. Thankfully I got this book free on BookBubs.

Didn’t finish after page 48. It’s probably fine but it’s just too much like so many other romance novels I’ve read. The writing and storytelling is too obvious. The author makes everything so obvious and easy. Willow is of course gorgeous with perfect looks. It’s described in detail by Ronan as they interact, which is very typical romance novel writing. Ronan is also gorgeous with equally perfect looks. It’s described in detail by willow as they interact, which is very typical romance novel writing. Haha. It gets repetitive. You know, where the story has to stop just to describe just hot the love interest is during each of their povs. Ronans two coworkers are also good looking or at least head turning in some way. So we have all these hot people which is so unoriginal and also boring. Who wants to read about people who all look the same? I just don’t get this fixation on having the lead characters be the most gorgeous people ever in like 99 out of 100 romance novels I read. Like copy paste. I just want something different. Where the characters are normal people. Normal people can be attractive too!

The reason I say the authors writing is too obvious is because she makes sure many times that we know how awesome willow is. Ronan and his coworkers make sure to make comments about willow being smart or interesting or gutsy or not what they thought, etc etc. these aren’t bad qualities obviously but I’d rather just SEE for myself the qualities the author wants willow to have. I don’t need my hand held through the story. I don’t need the characters monologuing how great they think the other is for doing the most basic things. They know willow for like a day and they’re already all just so impressed by her.

Also the dual point of view writing leaves no mystery to the relationship. I know what willow thinks about Ronan at all times and I know what Ronan thinks of willow at all times. Because they are both attracted to eachother there’s nothing much to work for. Yeah he’s technically her “enemy” so there is that hurdle, but when he’s already thinking about her sexually so soon (since the author makes sure to have him monologue to us that he keeps imagining willow in sexual situations) it makes me feel like everything will come pretty easily. And again, my hand is being held because the author wants to make sure that we know that Ronan is is the love interest and not for willow for sure. I’m just not super invested and when everyone is so perfect in looks and personality and those facts are pushed to the forefront of the story I’m just not that interested.

“I’ve met someone, and nothing has happened between us, but it wouldn’t be fair of me to be with you when I’m thinking about her.”

Direct quote from MMC King when OW (casual hookup) called him when in town to get together. I LOVED this. One of my pet peeves in romance books is when the MMC still fucks others after meeting the MFC when clearly they don’t want the OW and are just using them to distract and or forget the MFC. So lots of respect for this plot point. I happen to think that this proves the guy is a good person with actual morals. It helps me believe that the character is a good person and actually cares for the MFC and makes me root for him in getting the girl. If he can use OW then he could use the MFC.

The story was good, the suspense good. I enjoyed the MFC Willows relationship with her BF Sage. I did think the pace of the relationship was a little fast it was like it went from zero to 200 in seconds. The sex scenes were good but not great. They were not quite as intense as I would expect given how King is portrayed as an Alpha and the boss. The main reason why it’s a 4 star and not 4.5-5 is Willow was a 25 year old virgin. She had a crush on him when she was a teenager. I really dislike when the MFC is a virgin. He helped her and rescued her and saved her Dads company so I can’t help but wonder if she really loved him or was it a combo of being grateful and being attracted to King that had her confusing her feelings. It would have been believable if Willow had been in a decent relationship before and had some good sex. If she had something to compare to and had lived more on a personal level.

Overall this was a good read. I think the author will get even better. I just hope we get more rounded MFC’s. While Willow was strong and did eventually stand up for herself with her brother I just wish there had been more experience on that personal/sexual side of things.

18 year old Willow Lennox thought Emmett was interested in her. She hears him telling the other kids that the only reason he asked her to prom is because she is from a rich family. She is crying in her father’s office waiting for him to get out of a meeting. Her dad Frank owns Lennox Securities. Ronan King walks in looking for Frank and ends up talking to Willow. Willow has had a crush on Ronan since he started working for her dad 5 years ago, right out of college. Ronan tells her that her date doesn’t deserve her and that she should go to Prom with her best friend and have fun.

It’s 7 years later and a 25 year old Willow is hiding in a cleaning closet watching the door to Ronan King’s office at his business King’s Security. She is sneaking around to try to save her family’s business. She thinks Ronan is trying to take over Lennox Securities. She breaks into Ronan’s office looking for proof. Ronan catches her. He’s 35 now but still as sexy as ever.

Willow’s father Frank died six years ago and her brother Tom has been running Lennox Securities. He fired Ronan right after he took over so Ronan started his own company. Willow is loyal to Lennox Securities because it’s all she has left of her father. Frank left her a trust fund but unfortunately her brother Tom got a hold of it and there was only enough money left to get Willow through college. She’s living in an apartment with her best friend Sage. It’s not the kind of apartment that Frank would approve of but it is all they can afford. She has a passion for painting but instead of pursuing it, she works at the company in the marketing and communications department to pay her bills.

What happens when Willow agrees to work for Ronan for a month so she can decide if Tom or Ronan would run Lennox Securities better? Does she still have a crush on Ronan? What happens when Willow is being pursued by a stalker?

This was a good start to a new series and I enjoyed reading it, for the most part.

Willow and Ronan are a sweet couple and it was pretty low in angst, even if they had a bit of an enemies-to-lovers thing going on in the beginning. I also have mixed feelings about whether or not this was more of a slow burn or a fast burn because it took them a while to acknowledge their feelings, but once they did, things moved pretty quickly. And for those of you who like spice like me, there are two explicit scenes but they're both pretty brief.

There wasn't anything in the book that I really disliked or thought didn't work, but it also didn't blow me out of the water. This is a romantic suspense/thriller and it did hit that note, but I found it pretty predictable; avid readers of the genre might not care for it. And this is a very minor point but I found it weird that Willow's dad thought it was important she learn how to protect herself but she didn't know self-defense.

Anyway, all in all, it was a fine read and it was nice to read a romantic suspense novel that didn't have a couple that was constantly fighting. I enjoyed it and I hope that Zeke's about to get a book as I was really intrigued by his character.

King's Security is a new series from author Ms Rivers. And we're off to a good start. A story full of romance, danger, twists and turns that you didn't quite see coming. Ronan is first on a wreck after falling into disgrace, but comes back again, when one day he rescues Willow, he finds that she is no longer the spoiled princess from years ago, but is now a grown woman and the attraction is right between them.

Willow struggles with trying to save her father's legacy, as well as with someone threatening her. This story will keep you glued to your book from start to finish, and will make it impossible for you to put it down. There is tension about the danger and there is also chemistry between them. But I wonder how they will fare, will they find out in time who is after her and can she safeguard her father's legacy? And how will Ronan and herself fare. I highly recommend this book, it's going to be a good series.

Ronan was dealt a bad blow when Willow's father died leaving the company to his son. Tom always had it in for Ronan and as a result the first thing he did when he took over was to fire Ronan. This didn't sit well with Ronan and he about taking over the company since tom was running it into the ground. Tom was trying to use his sister against Ronan but when the truth finally came out, she saw her brother for what he truly was. In the meantime, Tom has racked up debts and they were coming due. To secure them he sold his controlling shares to his father's enemy. Not only did Petrov want her father's company he wanted Willow as well and was willing to do any and everything to get her. Will Ronan and his team be able to keep Willow safe and will they get their chance for a happily ever after? This story kept me glued to the pages!

The King 👑 🚨

Thank you Ms Rivers for allowing me to read this book about Ronan and Willow. It was a good read for your first attempt at a Bodyguard/ Security with suspense story, and I look forward to reading ‘The Veteran’.

This story was about the Lennox Security firm which is run by Willow’s older brother Tom and King’s Security which is run by Ronan and his friends Kade and Zeke.
I enjoyed the underlying story for these two characters and the side characters were interesting too; especially Sage, Kade, and Zeke. It was unfortunate that Tom couldn’t be reformed and was a horrible brother.
I am looking forward to reading Kade’s and I’m hoping it’s Sage’s story, as well as Zeke’s after that.

I would recommend this book to anyone who reads the authors books or who likes the Protector/ Security/ Bodyguard stories with some suspense thrown in.

I have received an ARC and I’m leaving my honest and voluntary review.

Tom Lennox takes over the family business after his Father dies, and promptly fires Ronan King who he views as his chief competitor at Lennox Security. Ronan King successfully starts up his own security bussiness with the help of his talented friends. While King Security grows Lennox is on very thin ice and ripe for takeover.

Willow Lennox can't fathom what's going on and why the family businees isn't generating more revenue. Willow has lived a most comfortable life as a an heiress. Money wasn't a issue until her brother took the reins of the company.

Willow plots to gather information about King Security and a possible takeover. She fails miserbly. What happens next? What is wrong with her brother Tom? Why is the company losing money?
At times Willow feels like she has a stalker. Ronan King makes her an offer? Something is most definitely wrong. Read this book and find out the truth.

Omg such a great book! Just full of romance, but with a great story line and lots of drama.
This was about Willow, who's family owned security business is in trouble and at risk of a take over by Ronan, the owner of a rival firm but he used to work for her father. This is about the contest.
I adored the connection between Ronan and Willow and even though she had issues and was trying to undermine Ronan, he still was giving her chances. He wanted to protect her, fundamentally that's what he is--a Protector.
Very well written, I really enjoyed the team spirit and the guys had each other's backs plus looking out for Willow. Drama intensity romance and a little steam. Can't ask for more than that. This was a wonderful story and I can't help but highly recommend it.
This was an ARC and this is my honest review.

I know I'm going to love this series. This is already a great start to it and I'm looking forward to more! I've just been loving these security romances. I'm all for it! Ronan and Willow's story is no exception. I couldn't put the book down. Right from the start, these two captured me. I loved how their story goes and all the feels they gave me.

Willow has always had a crush on Ronan. Because he's her dad's protege. So she knows he's a great guy if her dad trusted him. But now he's also trying to take over her dad's security company and it's a legacy she wants to protect. But there are a lot of things she doesn't know and what her brother's been up to.

I loved the chemistry between them. It's not an insta-love but it gradually grows and develops between them. I loved the two of them together. And I also loved the suspense and how Ronan's partners have each other's backs trying to save Willow. I can't wait for the next book already!

I was super excited to see a completely new series from A. Rivers, and romantic suspense at that. It did not disappoint.

Willow is desperate to keep her family's legacy in her name. Her brother is making that an impossible task. Ronan used to work for Willow's dad and when he passed away, Willow's brother fired him. He went on to create his own successful security firm.

There Is more going on behind the scenes in both of their lives, will they be able to figure out what her brother is up to, and be able to stay together in the process?

This was a good story. I loved the suspense and thought it kept you on the edge of your toes. Willow and Ronan we're a good couple and you rooted for them the entire time.

I am really looking forward to the other men from King Security, especially Zeke.

"I'd spent years dreaming of him, whereas he may as well never have seen me before today."

This was an enjoyable romantic suspense story, if a little predictable. I really liked Ronan and Willow. They were a great couple and I thought they were perfect for each other. This was defiantly a slow burn and they had great chemistry together from the moment she broke into his office. One of the things I liked best was that even though it's technically an enemies to lovers they weren't mean to each other and didn't fight all the time. I wouldn't even call them enemies, more like adversaries and even that's a stretch.

Because it's a suspense novel it's best not to know anything that's going to happen as it will ruin the fun. I'm sure we will see more books in the series and I look forward to them.

Willow and Ronan knew each other years ago when he worked for her father and now Ronan has his own company and she is about to lose her only link to her Dad and gets boxed into a corner by her brother. There most certainly is sparks between Ronan but when neither fully trust what the other is up to it makes it hard to open up but once danger bust through Willows door things take a change and secrets and deals with the devil start to be revealed. Ronan, Kade and Zeke are soo different but great guys who make you laugh at times and Willow and Ronan are perfect for each other so you are biting your nails needing to not only know they will get together but they find out what Tom has really been up to and who is behind the danger and terror not only Willow but her bestie Sage have been put through.

Heart racing!

I love stories that make me question everything, keep me on the edge of my seat, and get me all up in my feels, The King hits all that and more!

I really enjoyed reading this one, all the twists and turns had my heart pumping with anticipation to read what happens next.
Willow, or FMC, is trying to save her father’s company from being taken over by a rival firm, run by our MMC Ronan. When Ronan catches Willow snooping in his office, he offers her a deal, work with him for a month so she can see her father’s company would be in good hands, and if at the end of the month she doesn’t agree, he’ll back off.

What happens when Willow starts working with Ronan? Who, incidentally, used to work with her dad before he passed, and she used to have a major crush on?
Will she stay? Can he prove the company will be in good hands?
Read and find out!

Ronan worked for Willow’s father, but after his passing, Willow’s brother fired him. He started his own security firm but his motive has always been to take over Willow’s family’s business. When he offers her a job, she thinks she might be able to find information to keep her family’s business out of his hands. But what will happen when she realizes he’s never been her enemy. This one takes you on a thrilling ride, of sibling manipulation, some stalking, kidnapping, and of course a strong heroine that’s always taken care of herself but doesn’t have to do it alone anymore! A book you don’t want to put down.

The King was the the beginning of great new series. Book 1 in the King's Security Series by A. Rivers gives us Ronan and Willow's story. Ronan used to work for Willow's father until her father's death. Ronan went off on his own after Willow's older brother inherited Lennox Security. Now Willow is determined to save her father's company and if that means going to work for the man she used to have a crush on and blames for her company's problems then so be it. Ronan has his own plans and that is to take over Lennox Security before Tom can destroy it, The chemistry between Ronan and Willow was off the charts hot. And when Willow finds herself the target of dangerous people, Ronan is determined to protect her. Definitely a page turner I highly recommend.

Willow & King

I wasn't sure what to expect with this one, but I really enjoyed it! Willow is trying to save her father's company, his legacy, from a hostile takeover by King. King is actually trying to save her father's legacy, too, WITH the takeover.

I love both characters, as well as Sage, Kade, & Zeke. They form an unexpected kind of crew. 😁

I love King's plan & the deal he poses to Willow for her to decide if her father's company would be better off with him rather than her brother. There are some difficult truths Willow has to come to terms with.

Their romance is slow burning, which works so well for the story! Great suspense plotting, steamy when they get there, & a great focus on friendships as well.

Looking forward to the rest of the series!!

wow this book grabbed me from the start. willow is stuck she lost her father and is going to lose her fathers company to her teenage crush Ronin. What starts out as a way to spy on Ronin turns into more than she bargained for. Fast paced and surprised at every turn. I also appreciated there was no hint of cheating. I H turn down an option before he and the h got together because it was right when he was thinking about the h. I loved the author after that. Can't wait for zeke and Kane to get their own stories.

5+ ⭐️ She has a way to deliver a fantastic book! I devoured it!
From the first page you are drawn into this story and you don’t want to put it down. I loved it and I was so curious how things would go between Willow and Ronan! I loved how caring Ronan was towards Willow. This story has everything you want: a good storyline, romance, suspense, action and some funny interactions. The vibe between Ronan, Kade and Zeke is hilarious.
I cannot wait till the other stories and am most curious about Kade.
Really just read it and enjoy it.
I so highly recommend this story!.
