Sandra's Diary: with the biography, the miracle of healing, the prayer of intercession

Rate this book
«This life is not mine. It is evolving rhythmically through a regular breath that is not mine, cheered by a peaceful day that is not mine.

There is nothing in this world that is yours. Sandra, realize it!

It is all a gift in which the ‘Giver’ can intervene when and how he wishes.

Take care of the gift given to you, make it more beautiful and full for when the time comes.»

Sandra's Diary stops here, on 27th of April 1984. Words that seem to presage the tragic accident in which she will be involved two days later. Only after her death is her secret imprinted on pieces of paper, cards, diaries, school diaries you can find the heart of a girl who wants to lead every thought, every action, her whole being to Christ. An extraordinary spiritual journey that father Oreste Benzi had the intuition to collect and publish, giving life to Sandra's Diary. This edition contains – in addition to Sandra's writings – her story, Stefano Vitali's testimony on the miracle of healing, the prayer to ask for the intercession of the new Blessed.

A deeply moving account of a young woman, who tried to give her life a meaning by dedicating it to the poor and marginalised. Sandra’s story is truly remarkable and has left a lasting impact on me and my understanding of the world. Even if you’re not spiritual, I can recommend everyone to give this marvellous book a read, as it isn’t a mere diary filled with the thoughts of an adolescent, but much more an invitation to contemplate the meaning of life. 💕

This book being published should be considered a blessing.

It amazes me how she was able to write so poetically at such a young age. Maybe that's just how italians word things, don't know, never spoke italian my entire life.

But wow, this book was great. Sandra was so thoughtful and well educated. I am sooo excited for the day she becomes a saint... she deserves it so much. I pray that it will happen in my lifetime...

Anyways, alongside the good things, this book made me feel bad at certain times, because it helped me see that I am not doing enough as a Christian; I am not serving God enough, I am not loving my neighbours enough, and I am also not reading my bible enough!... this was like a wake up call. I pray that I am able to use my learning from this book as a way to grow closer to God, and as a way to do better.

Rest in peace, Sandra. You would have been a great doctor. Maybe you could be a doctor of the church instead... hm... tons to think about... (but wow wouldn't that be crazy??? But yeah I shouldn't think sooo far ahead... she's not even a saint yet, sadly)
