The One-on-one.The Loser pays with their heart. After four years of losing herself in a relationship that was all about her ex, Devyn Hansley’s new beginning presents itself when her soccer pro, playboy brother invites her to move in with him.

Devyn’s plan to stay away from relationships is sidelined when she meets the team’s deaf goalkeeper, and her anti-dating rule flies quickly out the window.

Kasen Mickelson know the rules when it comes to dating her best-friends’s stay far, far away. But the wager was her idea--and Devyn doesn’t seem like the type of woman who likes to lose.

And Kasen’s certainly not going to let her win.

Slide Tackled is a sweet & sexy sports love at first sight romance with a little bit of mystery between a deaf soccer player and his best friends sister. Kasen is a super sweet goal keeper for his soccer team who has learned to adapt to his environment by reading lips as much as he can, watching people and the signals they give off and never giving up even though he has one less sense than everyone else. Luckily he has found great friends on his team and his best friend who is also a teammate but has never treated Kasen any different than anyone else.

Devyn is just coming off a four year relationship where she was always put last and never treated with respect. She has moved in with her brother temporarily and is starting over in the city he plays soccer for. She has no desire to get into a new relationship but when she sees the goal keeper at her brothers party she can't help but approach him. Both Kasen and Devyn feel this pull to one another but Kasen worries about liking his best friends sister and Devyn doesn't think she should be liking anyone when she is trying to get her life in order. As these two quit fighting what is against them and start getting to know one another they know they have found something special. Unfortunately Devyn's ex causes problems and becomes someone Devyn never knew he could be.

The storyline really is great and I was intrigued by Kasen, Devyn and all the side characters. The mystery portion of the story was played out really well and added another plot to the story. I truly enjoyed every bit of this read and highly recommend to all. Happy Reading!

Maybe it's because my first boyfriend (at the young age of 15) was deaf, but I've always had a soft spot for a deaf leading man, so this book definitely caught my attention.

Devyn is just getting away from her controlling boyfriend of 4 years and she has no desire to dive into another relationship. Then she meets her brother's best friend and soccer teammate Kasen. He is the perfect gentleman and it doesn't take long for her anti-dating rule to take a back seat.

I really enjoyed this sports romance. Kasen truly is the perfect book boyfriend and I appreciated the way in which his deafness was incorporated into this story without being the focal point. This is a pretty much an insta-love type romance. For the most part, it's a lighter read, but there is some drama that leads to a few tense moments. The characters in this book are so likable, especially Devyn's best friend Kamden and Devyn's brother Ryker. The bromance between Ryker and Kasen is pretty good too. This story drew me in from the beginning and kept me turning the pages.

Slide Tackled is the first book that I've read by Tonya Clark and I'm definitely interested in reading more.

This is a new author to me, but I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. Devyn has just ended a 4-year relationship with her ex, when her professional soccer player, playboy brother invites her to stay with him. The last thing Devyn is looking for is another relationship, which is until she meets her brothers’ best friend, and deaf goalkeeper, Kasen. Kasen know that Devyn of off-limits, but can they resist the pull between them? This is a well written sweet sports romance, which has humor, witty banter, family, intrigue, fun, and love, which leads to an entertaining page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author and I highly recommend this story.

This was truly a fantastic book and I absolutely loved Devyn and Kasen.
I could not put this book down until it was finished, but now I am anxious and can't wait for more.
The chemistry and attraction was hot and steamy between these two and can not be denied. Sure they tried, but when it is right nothing will stop them.
I can't get enough of Kasen.
Tonya Clark's books are really amazing and I absolutely love her books.
