Nyx just can't seem to escape her eternal night, the very darkness she was named after. Angry at the world, her hatred is ravenous for none other than Beckham Hunt, captain of the ice hockey team.
Beckham loathes Nyx Taylor, that much he is certain of. Nobody boils his blood as she does and when she's hired to assist his team during championship season, he discerns that there's more to her than meets the eye. She was always the villain in his story. But, suddenly she's the plot twist he never saw coming.
Each glare and scowl and insult piles up, put under tremendous pressure by their mutual hatred. Yet, peeking through their fury clouded vision, they find the centre of their relationship blazing. Like two rival stars gravitating towards each other, Nyx and Beckham can do nothing when the law of attraction forces them to accept that passion doesn't always mean hatred, but perhaps something more.

An awesome hockey romance, enemies to lovers, with second chance romance and a bunch of hilarious scenes.
You get found family, happily ever after, a beautiful relationship, and so many cute friendships. A few TW before going into this book: abuse
Following the story of Nyx and how she survives. This is 100% a romance book, but its really much more than that. It's how Nyx and her sisters fight for their family and how they survive their family. Its learning to give second chances, thinking before speaking, and not assuming the worst first.
You get super strong female leads, who did this to you, I hate everyone but you, and soooo much TENSION.
This is definitely a book you do not want to miss out on.
“Didn’t God rain kindness down on his people?” I urged, aggravated at the fact that she wouldn’t tell me what the email had said. She shrugged. “I was standing under an umbrella that day.” Benson sighed. “Why did I even hope that you’d soften the blow?” Nyx smiled at him. “Soothing voice of a woman, my ass .“No. Your brain might not remember him, but a heart never forgets,” he said firmly before wincing almost dramatically. “Fuck. I didn’t just say that. You didn’t hear that shit.” He looked pained. “Holy fuck. I did not just say that. What the actual fuck?”
The brother sister relationships between nyx and the boys is just 🤌🏻 The lines that indigo delivered are just laugh out load. And the plot twists Nyx is such a strong female lead and her breaking down is just a lesson for all people
Hands down one of the best books in Wattpad! Rae's work, as always, is amazing. You'll love Nyxie and Beck, their chemistry is just, insane, the plot of this book is *chef's kiss*. I literally fell in love with their story and every chapter kept on getting better! I would 100% recommend this and all her books as well!
i'm not even exaggerating when i say this is and will always be my #1 favourite.
(well, you can see it on my profile lol)
you know when a book is your comfort read? when you go to it and read it when you're feeling down? when whenever you read you have the same excitement you had when you first read it? THIS. this is that book.
i love a book with ALL kinds of feeling and emotions with perfect balance; and this was just that. this book made me aware of so many things, from ab*use awareness to my preferences in books. it had a vast mindset to it and that was absolute perfection. it left a huge impact on me and will stay with me forever.
it had me crying; laughing; hurt; happy etc! and don't even get me started on the sm*t- i've read very few book with good composition AND good smut, and this, this was just everything that.
join nyxie and beck in an adventure of a steamy; mind blowing chemistry; of a sports, enemies-to-lovers book.
I HONESTLY LOVED IT!! I PERSONALLY LOVE WHEN THERE IS TRAUMA IN A BOOK AND THIS BOOK HAD PERFECT TRAUMA BUT ALSO HAD FLUFF AND A BIT OG SPICE TOO! THE FEMALE MC WAS A RAGING FEMINIST WHICH WAS PROLLY MY FAV PART SHE WAS SOOO COOL AND JUST WOAH! HER PERSONALITY WAS AMAZING! THEN THE MALE MC WAS COOL TOO HE WAS REALLY REALLY SWEET! LASTLY ALL THE OTHER CHARACTERS WERE REALLY COOL TOO! THERE WERE SO MANY PLOT TWIST IT REALLY DIDNT FEEL LIKE A “WATTPAD” BOOK! I WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT, I FINISHED IT IN A DAY AND IT WAS A TOTAL 5 STARS READ! Anyways HAPPY READING!
There are no words strong enough to describe this book. Truly, it took me on a wild ride with ups and downs and jumps and twists and turns and the author is such a phenomenal writer. One of the issues I come across when reading is that if there isn't enough sub plots or details I get bored but this book never made that happened. I was always wondering was going to happen next, always laughing at the jokes, always sobbing at the sad parts. Hands down one of the best books I have ever read.
(read on Wattpad) I did not expect to like this book as much as I did, it's enemies to lovers (done well), second chance romance (we love), sports romance (ice hockey), trigger warning for abuse though. I just loved this book like it gave me everything I didn't know I needed, I was slowly falling into a book slump and this book stopped me from going overboard. 100% recommend. 5/5, utter chef's kiss and another book boyfriend to add to the list
This book made me want to believe in the fate of the Law of Attraction. Nyx is such a complex character but she is beautiful (and I'm not talking about her physical appearance). Beckham is gorgeous because he developed to truly SEE people and he loved with everything he had. Honestly, this book is just stunning. Heck, I even loved Beckham's parents!
I’ve been reading a lot of books that deal with mental health problems and for sure I can say that this one is one of my favorite stories!! The way she portraits everything without it become too much or being too less… it’s just amazing !
The writing in this is amazing, I learnt so many new words (I'm not a native English speaker). I love the plot twists, the emotions in this, it's just chef's kiss
I thought I would have liked this book a lot more. The start of the book is well written, the characters are developed quickly so you get drawn into the story easily. I was definitely enticed by the mystery. The writer teased that we didn’t have all the information to put the story together and that definitely kept me reading.
Unfortunately, that’s all I have for positive aspect of the book. I found that there is a lot of filler chapters, especially towards the end of the book. I usually am a sucker for a bit of miscommunication in a book, but the miscommunication in this one doesn’t seem natural to the characters. I hated the Raf / Annie story. I thought it was just bad writing. And don’t get me started on the abuse storyline.
The whole “I don’t trust anyone cause my dad hits me” thing that the whole story is wrapped around is so false. Nyx trusts people so easily in the story that it just ruined it for me. It all felt very fabricated and redundant. I gave it two stars because I struggled to read it. In the end I didn’t quite finish it because I was not enjoying it.

This story was amazing. I read it within a few days and I had to force myself to put my phone down. The characters are each so individually different and unique, and I loved the way the Author portrayed everything. The story line may have been heartbreaking, but in the end I was so grateful for Nyx and Beckhams history. It made everything better.
4.75 stars - i really really really enjoyed this book the characters were amazing, the plot was amazing, the main character’s attitude was amazing i do love a good hockey romance and this was just it -0.25 because i can’t wait for it to publish and get it on my shelf
