The deck is stacked against Davina when she becomes the prime suspect for murder in small-town Daybreak Falls. Clueless as to proving her innocence, she reconciles to spend her last days of freedom solving the identity of the mysterious man who'd recently kidnapped a local teen.
If she can't save herself, maybe she can at least stop his reign of terror before she's shipped off to prison for the rest of her life.
So, with best friend Olivia by her side, they start their investigation and follow the clues—only belatedly realizing—Davina's grandmother Bernadette is missing in action!
Two Lies - Someone Must Die is the second book in the Davina Ravine psychic crime thriller series. It is recommended to read this series in order.
Another Cliffhanger and now I have to wait for November
So not happy right now. I really love this series but how dare she leave me hanging again??? First it was just two days but now its at least four months. I am so mad I didn't wait to read this and I just stayed up half the night to finish this and I have no resolution. I hate cliffhangers!!!
I made it through the first book, figuring that her writing would improve with the second book. Somehow, it's worse. There is so much extra crap happening in this book. We have an entire chapter about how she did laundry and made coffee. 60% of the stuff that happens has nothing to do with the main plot. These characters are completely unrealistic, and so many characters are introduced and then just abandoned. Austin is supposed to be an important character, but he hasn't been in the book at all. This book reminds me of something I would have written it at 15 years old. It is just a series of telling really mundane events that are going on throughout this story. This could easily have been told in a fourth of the amount of time. At 36% in, maybe two significant things have happened. And that's a stretch. Also, how is it that every injury in this book is treated like it is fatal? These people would not stop fawning over Davina because of her hurt foot. But now at where I am at in the book, she took a shower and suddenly it's better. I very rarely leave books unfinished, but this is actually painful to read. I had to stop and review now because I think it is crazy how there are no negative reviews yet!
This is the 2nd in the series following Davina Ravine. Davina has psychic abilities passed on from her Mother and Grandmother. Now, she has been arrested for the murder of her father. With her best friends defending her, they finally release her as they don't have enough evidence to hold her, but most of the town think she is crazy and is a killer.
For years, Davina has been trying to find out what happened to her missing sister and never knowing what happened. For the past 15 years she has been searching, now other girls have been missing and Davina is having visions of where they might be.
An entertaining and suspenseful book that will keep you reading and laughing at the antics of her best friend, Olivia. Don't miss these.
This author is such an amazing writer. Her characters are so distinctive and well formulated.
Olivia is driving me absolutely crazy. I know she's written to do that and it's great the author can make you feel crazy.
I love how she keeps us guessing. I also love how it's a buildup rather than a random surprise. Even though it drives me crazy and I want things figured out and over with, it's still a great series so far.
I'm hoping that maybe there is some romance put in.
As I'm getting through this book, the mystery is expanding. I'm happy that the author has finally stopped all the female characters from giggling. None of them ever chuckled or just laughed. I'm really wondering about Olivia and how she does senseless things like touching hot pots of the stove, almost setting herself on fire and other hijinks when she's supposed to be so smart, maybe she's just absent minded. I'll more than likely keep reading just to see how things turn out. I also wonder why we always get these descriptions of Austin and his dimple, but I don't even remember the description of Detective Stone.
This series is so good. This book had a different vibe than book 1. But I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless. I love the mad cap cast of characters. And I need more. It’s a unique fast paced read that leaves you wanting to hang out with Davinia & the gang forever.
If you like paranormal, mystery with a fast pace this is a must!
This is an excellent addition to the series. We learn more about her family, there is an arrest, a spring cleaning occurs, bodies are recovered, relatives are found, loved ones buried, a new business comes to fruition. It is an excellent way to spend your reading hours. There is a cliffhanger. Now onto book 3
There are many things going on. There are kidnappings, murders, suicides, bodies and other gruesome stuff happening in a small town. Davina seems to be centered in it and really all she wants is to get away and have a normal life. Then things are moving way out of her control and all she wants is to discover who is doing this to her family.
There is more murder and psychic mayhem going on in Davina’s life. Nothing is as it seems with Davina and she and her friends are drawn more deeply into the mystery. Just when everyone thinks it’s finally over…it is not.
Housework neglected, beds unmade, dishes in the sink all because I can't put this series of books down! I may need an intervention but not till after the next one Please!!!!
I can not get enough of these Davina Ravine books. Just when I think I’ve figured out a plot it changes . Once I start reading a new book that’s it I can’t put it down. Love this new series of Ms.Hunter.
I’m really enjoying this series. Lots of great twists and turns. I do wish the main character could get a break through and stop getting hurt, and messed with every single minute of the day.
I am really enjoying this series with its twists and turns. I did figure out one of the big twists early on but it didn’t take away from liking the story and characters. Definitely worth reading.
I have read several series with similar themes but this one GRABS you. I would recommend them highly. But only when you have free time. I have been up past 2 every evening and have to fight not to read durning the day. (It is noon now so the fight isn’t working)
An excellent book that was a continuation of the first in the series. As with the first book, this one didn't really end, but it will be continued on to the third book. I'm looking forward to reading it.
