This book wasn’t at all what I expected. I’m not leaving a rating since I only read 2 chapters.

I didn’t like the Philipp from the get go. I didn’t get his relation with Bella at all. Okay I suppose it’s convenient but it didn’t work for me which made the first chapter awkward. But provided I liked Celine I should be okay.

I didn’t like Celine. I didn’t like how they met. She was clumsy and all “Oh my God” and he was…

“It’s okay, girl.” He drags out the last word like bubble gum and smirks. “No excessive formality, please. You can call me Philipp, by all means. God isn’t required at all.”

“Girl, do you happen to have …”

“Me? You want me to wear something of yours, girl?”

It’s just not the book for me. I’m sorry because I requested it and I always try to finish books I ask for.

This is the the first book I have read by this author but it most certainly won't be my last!!


I was originally drawn to this book by its beautiful eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title.

This novel consists of 31 chapters and an epilogue. The chapters are short to medium in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!


This book is based in Mosbach, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany🇩🇪.

This book is written in third person perspective and the main protagonists are Philipp Sandtmann and Celine Lechner. The benefits of third person perspective with multiple protagonists are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.

In 'Tattooed Sweetness' all of the characters are flawed and struggle with their own issues and insecurities. Tattooed Sweetness is about love, loss, and experiencing life in all its facets. It deals with sensitive topics that may be triggering for some readers.

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO KATLYN ON AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ROMANCE.

The storyline is an absolutely perfect example of not only how opposites can attract but how you shouldn't judge a book by its cover or a person by their skin. I was sucked straight into the storyline from the first page to the very last and loved discovering the different areas of Montreal. The setting is gorgeous and I love the fact that Katlyn includes QR codes that you can scan throughout the storyline to help you get an even more vivid picture of what is happening in your head. I found the storyline to be unique and I enjoyed watching the friendship and relationships between the characters develop and change throughout the book. It is filled with romance, tattoos, friendships along with some tension, suspense and abuse. Katlyn has done an amazing job on writing from both Philipp and Celine's characters and I enjoyed discovering what was going on in their minds as well as seeing what they were doing. I enjoyed the fact that the chapters had their own titles related to what was going to happen in that chapter and I also found the translations of some of the different languages used to be very helpful. I absolutely adored the last chapter 'What Really Happened' as I always love discovering where authors get their ideas for their storylines from and the fact that this one came from a chance meeting of a couple who were the complete opposite is fantastic. Although this book is advertised as a slow burn I found the storyline itself to be fast paced and I absolutely flew through it in a day and still wanted more. I started it in the afternoon and I just could not put it down until I finished at 2am so I completely blame you Katlyn for the bags under my eyes!!! It is absolutely gripping and will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions from happy to sad, angry to filled with a bubbly feeling. I loved the tattoo aspect of the book being a huge tattoo fan myself. I am the type of person when wearing a long sleeve top and trousers nobody can tell I am inked but in shorts and a T-shirt you can see I am covered which always seems to surprise people. I absolutely adored the ending which was absolutely perfect. I was shocked when Philipp's past was revealed and then shocked again when his father revealed his secret. It does annoy me though how he could protect Konstantin but was an awful father to Philipp. I loved the fact that Katlyn included the recipes for Celine's Pide-Pizza and Philipp's Jalapeno Pimento Cheese Sandwiches at the end which I thought was a nice addition and not something you come across much. I would have liked to know more about what happened to Kevin and the gang that came to the tattoo parlour but not every book is ended with a perfect ribbon and I didn't think it affected the storyline. I also want to point out that this book was translated to English and I think that the translator did a fantastic job!

I was not a fan of Philipp at all when I first met him and found him to be obnoxious, full of himself and to put it bluntly just up his own butt. My first impressions of Celine were of a hard working, sweet woman who unfortunately could not see her scummy boyfriend for the using piece of crud that he was. I absolutely could not stand Kevin from the start and the way he treated Celine made me sick. I mean what sort of loser gets jealous of a character in a book for crying out loud? Philipp, however, started to grow on me and as we started seeing his softer side I started liking him more and more. I loved Celine's friend Pauline and thought that she was a great friend for her and excellent support. She was full of life and laughter and she is the type of friend everybody needs. I thought Bella, Philipp's girlfriend at the start iof the book, was a bit desperate and clingy as well as being extremely jealous. However, Bella also grew on me as I continued through the storyline and it was nice to see a friendship develop[ between her and Bella. I absolutely adored Celine's Aunt Mareike and her "partner" Horst who were both larger than life characters and absolutely brilliant support network for Celine. regardless whether you love or hate the characters they all work perfectly together in this sexy page turning romance.

Well done Katlyn on an absolutely fantastic page turner. I am looking forward to reading more of your books! Here is to your next success!!

I don't understand whether it's a graphic novel for this book. If anything, it's a kin to a light story.
This is a lovely Romance and a slow burner if you enjoy that. Every comment and interaction serves to heighten the relationship between the two of them; their chemistry is enough to burn anyone who gets in their way. The slow-burn romance in this novel was what the doctor ordered, and it was a fun, easy read.

So I have adjusted the star rating to what I feel the book would have been for me if I had read it without striking up this weird faux-friendship with the author. Tattooed Sweetness was not quite what I was expecting when I initially spoke with the author via Instagram asking how to go about signing up for this ARC. While it is a romance, it's quite slow, and not necessarily in the fun "slow burn way", in my opinion it was more "endless pining".

Tattooed Sweetness, however, did have some really good plot twists that I was absolutely not expecting. Namely, with our MMC Philipp (whom is absolutely my type of book boyfriend in every applicable sense).

Overall, I feel so not feel confident giving the book anything higher than 2.5/5 stars. I took quite a bit of issue with the author's overuse of certain phrases and profanity and some recycled jokes throughout the novel. While the profanity isn't a deal breaker for me in any way, it seemed a large filler at times. This, I also found to be the case with the much-tired phrase "Oh my God."

I will admit though, after speaking again with the author, that I do have to consider than translator as a part of this. Originally, it was written in German and was then translated by another party for the American publication. Maybe the phrases and overuse of words was not the author’s direct action, but the result of her translation service.

Additionally, I found the time jumping more confusing than agreeable. I'd like to see the author, in the future, utilize dates more so than just the passing of weeks or months, as the year was mentioned only once in the novel as far as I can recall.

I was absolutely unprepared for Philipp's backstory in Tattooed Sweetness. The emotional and Physical Abuse form his mother was deeply cutting. It was also not a topic I've seen touched on very often, particularly with Heterosexual male characters. I think it's important to remember that abuse like this is often dismissed and hardly ever taken seriously, as our society tends to prioritize the importance and severity of Domestic/Spousal Abuse (in most regards: a husband using violence against his wife).

As mentioned in the first portion of this review, this novel was nothing but PINING. It was around the 85-90% mark that the characters actually advanced in making any romantic contact. In my opinion, the sex scene between the two main characters is moderately tame and brief. I did, however, enjoy the fact that our MFC, Celine, is the one who made the first move by kissing Philipp in the front seat of his truck. It's rare that we are able to witness our Female protagonists making assertive, sexual decisions.

Other thoughts and concerns:
- I didn't care for how we handled Celine's friendship with Pauline. They had a fight regarding Philipp (Celine thought that she may have been interested in him and he in Pauline etc.) It's stated that Celine and Pauline are "not on speaking terms but make a brief truce to arrange Christmas plans", and then for the rest of the book we don't mention her again. We don't see Celine reach out to her BEST FRIEND after her ex-fiancé, Kevin, assaults her in their apartment (inevitably leading to her prolonged stay with Philipp.)
- We also fail to follow up with any sort of repercussions with Kevin, and his family, when they find out that the engagement is dissolved. (Like his police friend who I’m sure would like to hear about how Kevin was left tied up and possibly beaten in the apartment.)
### as the author wanted to point out when she DM-ed me: “Celine would have sought refuge with Pauline if she had her phone.” Okay so you expect us all to believe that she would stay with Philipp for MONTHS, and continue to work without getting a new phone and/or borrowing one at the shop? Seriously? That’s not very realistic. Further, the author was very adamant that because Celine purchased baby garments for a coworker from Pauline that meant their friendship was fixed. But we, as the readers, never actually see them reconnect. Celine just stays with Phillipp, gets her things back from the apartment with help from the gang, and I guess shops at Pauline’s all without her actually apologizing or even telling her friend where she’s been for 2 months? Riiiight.

Overall, I didn’t really enjoy the read, it felt quite juvenile (and not in the YA sense). I hope that Katlyn will continue with her works in romantic fiction, because I enjoyed the idea and the personalities of her characters--thank you again to the applicable parties for making this copy available for advanced review.

Tolle Geschichte, mit wunderbaren Protagonisten die man einfach gern haben musste. Jeder hatte seine Ecken und Kanten. Keiner war perfekt, und trotzdem fügt sich alles zusammen, was das ganze einfach total realistisch dargestellt hat.
Die beiden Protagonisten lernen sich sehr langsam und genau kennen, und öffnen sich Stück für Stück immer mehr, was einfach perfekt zur Geschichte passt.
Hach ich hätte noch ewig weiterlesen können und bin traurig das die Geschichte zu Ende ist.

Ich mag Katlyns Schreibstil total. Ich mag ihren Humor sehr, der dafür sorgt, das man immer mal was zum grinsen hat. Allein die Kapitelnamen sprechen für sich. :D Trotzdem geht aber auch die Ernsthaftigkeit nicht verloren.
Das Thema Vorurteile wurde sehr gut umgesetzt. Es hat sehr deutlich gezeigt, das man kein schlechter Mensch ist, nur weil man tätowiert ist

Zwei Menschen ,die nicht unterschiedlicher sein könnten verlieben sich in einander und das heftig .Beide wissen ,das die Umwelt sich nicht zurückhalten wird mit abfälligen Bemerkungen und das es absolut nicht einfach wird ihre Liebe wachsen zu lassen und doch sind ihre Gefühle für einander so stark das sie es wagen.
Was zuerst nur ein Beratungsgespräch bei der Bank ist wird zu so viel mehr,doch Celine kämpft noch mit sich und ihrer Familie. Mit ihrem Freund ist sie eigentlich schon lange nicht mehr glücklich ,doch das wird ihr erst klar als sie Philipp kennen lernt .Er fasziniert sie vom ersten Augenblick an , denn er nimmt sie ernst und sie in ihr den Menschen der sie ist. Und je mehr sie sich für Philipps Antrag einsetzt um so öfter treffen sie sich und ihr wird klar ,das er der Mann ist mit dem sie gerne zusammen wäre ,doch kann sie es wagen ?
Von Philipp erfährt man so einiges und man muss sich wirklich wundern das er sein Leben so lebt und so konsequent versucht sich etwas auf zu bauen.Seine Zweifel ob er sich auf eine Beziehung mit Celine einlassen sollte kann man gut verstehen.
Ich mochte beide Protagonisten von Herzen gerne und habe mit ihnen mit fiebert und mit gelitten

I went back and forth with this one. I don't know if it's because it has been translated, but it was difficult to get into and there were some elements that I really struggled with. (How can you take a hero seriously who refers to his penis as 'Jolly Jumper'??) I stuck with it though; although it took quite a long while to get there, the journey was worth it.
This isn't the best romance that I've read and I found a lot of the writing a little clunky. But, overall I did enjoy it and I would encourage anyone to stick with it.

Phillipp and Celine were the epitome of opposites attract. I enjoyed their development and storyline. Poor Phillipp has had a rough life and he just needed someone like Celine to come along and believe in him, give him comfort and support and be a partner. Great story!

Although I like Philipp and Celine, the story itself was hard to get into. I did read what I could, but it was not what I was expecting and some parts were harder to understand than others. I think the language barrier may have played a part in that. The story is there, just not a story for me.

This is a good little read it has everything a person needs in a romance, its a slow burn but the heat comes off the pages and leaves you just that little bit breathless. i felt singed by some of the scenes in this book and boy am i blushing in others.
i liked this book on a whole its a good romance overall, i find Philipp a little bit unlikable but not enough to stop reading.

Got to Chapter 3 and just could not get into it. SO can't really rate it. The way Celine is referred to as "girl" really bothers me. Plus the meet cute was just like any other persons meet cute nothing to spectacular. Already in the first couple chapters, the guy is already questioning his relationship with his girlfriend.

"Tattooed Sweetness" von Autorin Katlyn S. Coen ist eine wundervolle Geschichte, die wohl jeder romantisch veranlagten Person Hoffnung gibt, dass im echten Leben doch noch der oder die Eine wartet! Aber Achtung, der richtige Deckel sieht vielleicht ganz anders aus, als man es sich vorgestellt hat...
Genau dieser unerwarteten Überraschung sehen sich die beiden Protagonisten dieses Romans gegenüber. Celine Lechner ist eine adrette junge Frau, die sich in ihrem schicken Businesslook genauso pudelwohl fühlt, wie in ihren bürotauglichen 5cm Absätzen und wahnsinnig aufgeregt ist, den nächsten Schritt in ihrer Karriereplanung erreicht zu haben. Die junge Unternehmensberaterin ist kurz davor ihren ersten selbstständigen Businessplan mit einem Kunden zu erstellen.
Phillip Sandmann auf der anderen Seite hat in einem Büro nicht wirklich was verloren. Sein Office ist das Tattoostudio. Sein allseits bereiter Kugelschreiber, ist die Tattoonadel.
Für den ehrgeizigen Künstler gibt es nichts Erfüllenderes als sich den täglichen Ritualen seiner Arbeit hinzugeben, kleine Kunstwerke auf der Haut seiner Kunden zu erschaffen und zu beobachten, wie eine Vision Wirklichkeit wird. Und falls er noch eine freie Stelle auf seinem eigenen Körper ausfindig machen kann – was inzwischen gar nicht mehr so einfach ist – erweckt er auch gerne dort mal seine Kunst zum Leben.
Der am ganzen Körper tätowierte Phillip und die süße, zurückhaltende Celine, welche nicht ein einziges Tröpfchen Tinte unter der Haut trägt sind ein denkbar ungleiches Paar. Sie würden einander nie daten, so viel steht fest - Herrje, sie würden normalerweise vermutlich nicht mal ein Wort miteinander wechseln! Aber wie es der Zufall so will, wird Celines erster Kunde ausgerechnet Phillip Sandmann, der einen Businessplan für die Vergrößerung seines Tattoostudios benötig.
So wird aus den Beiden auf einmal ein Team und obwohl sowohl Phillip als auch Celine in einer Beziehung steckt, kann keiner die einzigartige Anziehung leugnen, die immer stärker zwischen ihnen zu lodern beginnt.
Aber das ist nur Einbildung, oder? Niemals könnte zwischen ihnen etwas sein. Dafür gibt es zu viele Unterschiede, zu viele Vorurteile und zu tiefe Abgründe zu überwinden. Das kann nicht funktionieren... oder etwa doch?
Ob es am Ende heißt „Gegensätze ziehen sich an“ oder eher doch „die Zwei sind einfach zu verschieden“ darf natürlich jeder für sich selbst herausfinden! Ich für meinen Teil hatte große Freude an der Geschichte von Celine und Phillip.
Der Schreibstil von Katlyn S. Coen ist von der Sorte locker, leicht und lebensnah. Sie nimmt den Leser wie selbstverständlich an die Hand und führt ihn bedächtig und ohne Stolperer durch die Geschichte. Sehr ansprechend fand ich auch die Atmosphäre, die in diesem Buch kreiert wurde. Man unterschätzt manchmal, was für einen Unterschied es macht, wenn der Autor oder die Autorin den Handlungsort persönlich kennt und sich dort aufgehalten hat, aber es spiegelte sich in diesem Fall deutlich wider. Die Beschreibungen waren sehr bildhaft und haben es mir sehr leicht gemacht mich nach Mosbach zu denken. Auch die örtlichen Dialekte und Redewendungen haben ihren Teil dazu beigetragen.
Ein Aspekt, der beim Lesen nicht unbedingt einen Nerv bei mir getroffen hat, waren die eingearbeiteten Anglizismen bzw. das doch sehr prominente „Denglisch“ von Phillip. Mir ist es gelungen, mich mit der Zeit daran zu gewöhnen, doch auch wenn es für die Figur eine glaubhafte Ergänzung war, hat es mich einfach nicht begeistern können. Trotzdem schätze ich irgendwie, dass die Autorin hier mal was riskiert hat.
Was die Handlung angeht, will ich nicht über meine Inhaltsangabe hinausgehen, kann aber sagen, dass mich dieses Buch in vielerlei Hinsicht sehr überraschen konnte. Es gibt einige unerwartete Entwicklungen und Komponenten, mit denen man zu Beginn der Geschichte nicht rechnet. Was die Entwicklung von Phillips und Celines Gefühlen zueinander angeht, würde ich hier definitiv von einer Slow Burn Romance sprechen, denn sie lernen sich wirklich erst zögerlich kennen und die Gefühle entwickeln sich und wachsen über einen langen Zeitraum. Es wird aber nicht langweilig, nur weil es bei ihnen nicht „sofort zur Sache geht“. Dafür gibt es zu viele Aspekte in ihrer beider Leben, die die Handlung vorantreiben und einen beim Lesen trotzdem interessiert und neugierig halten. In diesem Kontext ist es der Autorin auch gelungen einige sehr ernste Themen sehr glaubhaft, sensibel und authentisch in die Handlung mit einzubauen. Es wurde nichts unnötig beschönigt oder ausgeschmückt, sondern blieb sehr nah am echten Leben, was mir wiederum gut gefallen hat. Insgesamt haben es diese Punkte für mich zwischenzeitlich sehr schwer gemacht, das Buch für längere Zeit aus der Hand zu legen.
Ein wenig schade fand ich, dass besonders in den späteren Kapiteln einige teilweise sehr große Zeitsprünge stattfinden. So wirkten die unmittelbar vorangestellten Szenen manchmal ein wenig unfertig. Vielleicht lag das aber nur daran, dass ich an der Stelle sehr gerne noch ein wenig weitergelesen hätte. Als ein wenig ‚unfertig‘ habe ich auch die Plotlines mit Celines bester Freundin und Tante empfunden. Beide werden als sehr wichtige Figuren vorgestellt, tauchen mit der Zeit aber immer seltener auf. Hie und da dachte ich auch, dass noch das ein oder andere Gespräch hätte stattfinden sollen. Dieser Punkt fällt für mich nicht sehr ins Gewicht, weil es mich beim Lesen nicht wirklich gestört hat, mir kam nur der Gedanke, dass es mich interessiert hätte, wie die Dinge mit den beiden abgelaufen sind.
Phillip und Celine als Protagonisten haben mich auf jeden Fall abholen können. Sie kommen beide mit vielen Ecken und Kanten und auch der ein oder anderen Delle, doch gerade das hat sie für mich so nahbar gemacht. Durch die regelmäßigen Perspektivwechsel zwischen ihnen lernt man beide auf eine sehr eindringliche und fesselnde Art kennen, bekommt schnell ein Gefühl für ihre Emotionen und Beweggründe. Der sehr starke Kontrast zwischen ihnen macht diese Wechsel natürlich umso interessanter. Man bekommt einen sehr guten Eindruck über die Zahlreichen Vorurteile, die es gegenüber der Tattoo-Szene gibt und erhält gleichzeitig einen tollen Einblick in die tatsächliche Arbeitsweise von Tätowierern. Die Details und Abläufe wirkten hier sehr gut recherchiert.
Ein richtiges kleines Highlight – und ich kann nur jedem, der dieses Buch liest raten, diese nicht zu überspringen – waren das kleine Zusatzkapitel und die Rezepte am Ende des Buches. Quasi das Tüpfelchen auf dem i zu einer tollen Geschichte.

Mir hat „Tattooed Sweetness“ zusammenfassend also sehr gefallen. Es war emotional, facettenreich und überraschend, mit echten, authentischen Protagonisten und einer gut durchdachten Storyline. Sie hat mir wirklich das Gefühl vermittelt, als wäre es eine Geschichte, wie aus dem Leben gegriffen und vermutlich ist auch gerade das der Punkt, der sie so besonders und lesenswert macht.

Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to review this book. Unfortunately, DNF. It was not what I expected. I did not like the characters. I was forcing myself to read this and couldn’t continue past 18%. I really like the cover which is honestly what drew me to this book along with the synopsis because typically I enjoy an opposite attract slow burn but I just couldn’t get into it. Perhaps it was a translation issue? I really don’t know other than it was very cringe for me.

Celine und Philipp sind zwei Personen, die auf den ersten Blick so gar nicht zueinander passen. Er von oben bis unten tätowiert, Tätowierer als Beruf und kann so gar nichts mit Celine anfangen. Sie eine kleine Büromaus, die sich im Businesslook pudelwohl fühlt und mit Tätowierern nichts zu tun haben will. Blöd nur, dass ihr erster eigener Kunde Philipp ist und sie sich mit seinem Job auseinandersetzen muss, um einen vernünftigen Businessplan für ihn zu entwerfen.
Das ist der Startschuss für eine lustige Liebesgeschichte, die aber auch ihre ernsten Themen hat. Schnell entwickelt sich eine Freundschaft zwischen den beiden, was sie aber selbst nicht wahrhaben wollen. Wenn Philipp Hilfe braucht – egal bei was – ruft er meistens zuerst bei Celine an. Ihr geht es umgekehrt ganz genauso.
Die Trennung von Celine und ihrem Freund, die alles andere als schön ist, ist ein Wendepunkt zwischen den beiden. Denn Philipp ist für sie da, kümmert sich um sie und man merkt als Leser richtig, wie sie sich zueinander hingezogen fühlen. Doch ziehen sich Gegensätze wirklich an? Oder sind die beiden sich doch ähnlicher als sie denken?

Ich war damals von „From Lockdown to love“ schon ganz begeistert und auch bei diesem Buch wurde ich nicht enttäuscht. Der Schreibstil ist ein Gemisch aus emotionalen und lockeren Sätzen, sowie lustigen und ernsten Sätzen. Man muss sich gewiss ein bisschen auf Katlyns Schreibart einlassen, aber man wird es nicht bereuen! Sie hat in diesem Buch Themen auf den Tisch gebracht, wo einfach viel zu wenig drüber gesprochen wird. Und sie hat mit Vorurteilen aufgeräumt – auch wenn ich nicht zu denen gehöre, die welche hat. Ganz besonders schön fand ich das letzte „Kapitel“, denn da erzählt uns die Autorin, wie Sie auf die Idee zu der Geschichte gekommen ist.

Gegensätze ziehen sich an. So heißt es doch, oder❓️
Celine ist 'reinhäutig', Tattoovierer Philipp komplett zugehackt. Vielleicht wären sie sich nie begegnet, aber er braucht Hilfe bei seinem Businessplan. Als er Celine in ihrer Firma das erste Mal sieht, schleicht sie sich später immer mehr in sein Leben, was das Leben beider gemächlich ordentlich durcheinander bringt.😉

Das erste Treffen der beiden hat mich lauthals zum Lachen gebracht, so viel Tollpatschigkeit kenn ich auch von mir.😝

Beide Hauptprotas haben so ihre Päckchen zu tragen & ich habe mit ihnen mitgefühlt, vor allem Philipp's Kindheit hat mich berührt, die auch sicher der Grund war, wieso er - für mich - so gar nicht greifbar war.
Kevin ist der Autorin super gelungen, denn er hat mich in rage versetzt🤬, ebenso seine Eltern an Weihnachten.😒

Man liest aus Sicht beider Hauptprotas, was mir gut gefallen hat, so konnte man sie super kennenlernen.
Der Schreibstil & die Absatzsetzung waren mal etwas anderes. Die direkte Art, gepaart mit der richtigen Portion trockenem Humor hat mir gefallen und hat klaren Wiedererkennungswert.

Leider konnt mich die Story nicht so packen, mir hat irgendwie Spannung gefehlt & manchmal ist die Handlung meiner Auffassung nach eher so vor sich hingedümpelt.😣
Weil viel Ironie mit im Spiel ist, war's für mich auch schwer, die tiefen Gefühle in der Geschichte rauszufiltern.😔 Zumal bin ich mit dem Hottie-Hacker irgendwie nicht warm geworden, obwohl ich eine Schwäche für farbige Haut gepaart mit breiten Schultern habe.🤷🏼‍♀️

Von mir gibt's 3,5/5⭐️, auch wenn es nicht so ganz meins war, regt die Lektüre zum Nachdenken an. Wer das große Drama nicht braucht, macht hier nichts falsch.

I really struggled finishing this. I wanted to like it, I did. There were things that I couldn’t really get over. (Pros/cons are below and contain some spoilers)

Stars: 2.5
POV: dual
HEA?: yes
Cheating: no

TW: alcoholism, child abuse
Tropes: slow burn, tattoos, opposites attract

Cons:
-Wordy at times. Some things are just too descriptive. Why do we need to have such huge multi-page descriptions of how MMC sanitizes his place?

-the discussion questions after every chapter. I feel like if the author needs those in the book, there should be a section at the end, to keep the story flowing.

-the time lapse. Instead of putting (time passes) as a break, use the ******, ~~~~ or other ways to break it up.

-I’m really not liking FMCS views on people with tattoos. she just plays off her current BF’s alcoholism, but tattoos make you an automatic criminal? Then there’s not really much development (in my opinion) and suddenly she changes her opinion 80% of the way through.

-there’s a huge time lapse and suddenly the story glances over a huge fight FMC had with her best friend during that time lapse. I feel like something that big should have actually been in the story since it was relevant.

-he’s sharing his past and all she can focus on is “he’s a criminal”, not he stole to get money so he could get away from his abusive mom.

Pros:
-I liked Phillip

-I liked that Phillips ex didn’t create drama.

-the notations for when things weren’t in English so I knew what it said.

In diesem Roman wurde mir mal wieder gezeigt , das ich immer hinter die Fassade blicken sollte, denn das äußere Erscheinungsbild sagt nicht über den Charakter eines Menschen aus. So erging es mir mit Phillip - nach außen der harte tätowierte Bad Boy aber im inneren ein total liebenswerter und durch seine Vergangenheit kaputter Charakter. Aber er schafft es schnell mich zu überzeugen, auch wenn er manchmal Dinge tut die ich nicht so mag. Seine Vergangenheit hat mich oft schlucken lassen , denn sein Background war geprägt von Gewalt und Unverständnis. Darum liebe ich es , was er aus sich gemacht hat. Ihm zur Seite steht Celine - sie ist das totale Gegenteil. Obwohl sie eigentlich eine starke Frau ist , lässt sie sich in ihrer Beziehung zu Kevin total unterbuttern. Hier steht ihr dann Phillip zu Seite und es beginnt eine wunderschöne Liebesgeschichte. Aber sie ist nicht nur emotional sondern auch humorvoll. Für mich eine perfekte Mischung und ein wahrer Lesegenuss. Toll fand ich auch , dass ich mehr über die Tattooszene kennenlernen konnte , da es für mich Neuland war. Der Roman ist mitreißend und authentisch geschrieben und von mir eine klare Leseempfehlung.

Zum Inhalt: Heute sollte der große Tag für Celine Lechner sein. Sie hat den Auftrag bekommen, erstmals eigenverantwortlich einen Businessplan für einen Kunden zu erstellen. Doch der Kunde, ein gewisser Herr Sandmann, scheint sich zu verspäten. Und dann wird das Zusammentreffen unvergesslich und vielleicht sogar Weg weisend für beide Parteien, denn wer hätte das gedacht, dass hier die Perfektion des gegensätzlichen Paares aufeinander trifft.
Meine Meinung: Von Anfang an, war ich begeistert von den so gegensätzlichen Protagonisten. Von Zeit zu Zeit hatte ich zwar das Gefühl, man müsste sie erst einmal in die richtige Richtung schupsen, aber am Ende haben sie es jedoch von alleine geschafft. Es war wirklich eine Freude, sie auf diesen Weg zu begleiten. Mein Dank gilt der Autorin, die dieses ermöglicht hat. Das Buch-Cover ist wirklich gut gelungen und hat mich direkt für sich eingenommen.

I read this book was going to be a slow burn, so I prepared myself. These tend to take me longer to get through because of the whole will they, won’t they, and OMG when?? I couldn’t believe how quickly I zipped through this book.

I adored the unlikely pair. The book allowed them to bond and grow a genuine connection. They both helped each other through some heavy situations (like the moments w/ Celine’s absolutely atrocious bf who deserved way worse). But like a previous reviewer said, I wish there had been a bit more romance prior to the ending.

Still, I was left highly satisfied. I adored this book. I really enjoyed the recipes given at the end as well, that was a nice touch. I will definitely take a look at other works by the author. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read another wonderful book.

Philipp is expanding his business and gets help from Celine to make his dream a reality. Over time a friendship develops, so much so that when Celine needs help, the only person she thinks to turn to is Philipp.

The idea behind this book is solid and I give the author credit since it's her first book in English, but I feel like this could be better. There were times when it was very wordy.

It takes a long time to get to the romance part, and then as soon as it happens, the book is over.

Philipp and Celine's story is sweet and ends with a happily every after.

While this wasn't great, it wasn't bad either. Just because it wasn't for me though, doesn't mean it's not for someone else.

This book gives me all the feels. Celine and Phillip are the epitome of opposites attract and their chemistry is amazing!! The author truly breathed life into these characters and  they contained a realness that's often not shown in this genre. 


The author also reminds us to look inside others rather than focus on their skin. I really appreciate her message.


This story made me feel warm and fuzzy inside and I'm so glad I read it.

I received a complimentary copy of Tattooed Sweetness in exchange for an honest review. This was an extremely slow burn romance and honestly wasn't worth the wait. There were some language issues as the backdrop did not take place in the US, and there were some dark themes of abuse that might be a trigger for some. Overall, this was not a good fit for my reading preferences, but hoping the next reader can disagree with my opinion.

Maybe its easier for me to understand the types of ppl they are because i am from europe, there were nuances in the characters you need to be familiar with the eastern europe cultures to read between the lines 🤔 In general, i liked the book. Something bit different. Some of the violence was off putting and most of the book lacked spice 😅 recipies in the back were fun 🙃

Phillip and Catlin are two opposites but as is often opposites attract. This slow burn was so so read for me. For me, it dragged on a lot until they become a couple. I had to make myself read the book until the end.

3 stars for the beginning, 4 stars after the first couple of chapters. If you pick up this book please read past the first few chapters where Philipp is written as a male chauvinist douche bag in his relationship with his tattoo artist assistant which he ends. Because at that point he changes and the narrative becomes a 4 star story written from both his and new business adviser Celine’s perspectives becomes interesting. I would describe the rest of the book enjoyable as a good blossoming love story type holiday read story. Thank you to Katlyn S Coen and NetGalley for the ARC. This book take place in Europe,  Mosbach - German. Friends to lovers story between Philip and Celine. The story was nice and sweet, we face their live before together. Philip with bella and Celine with Kevin. Dynamic in their relationship how to be brave and face the past, the present and then the future. I love how this book have link to interact between author and reader. The receip really helpfull i want to try it.
