what the heck

Soooo I thought this was the final book but it’s not so I’m a tad disappointed with how long this story has been drug out now.
But! This book had more action which I definitely appreciate. I’m excited to see the final conclusion in the next book.

This whole series has been freaking epic but this book blew my freaking mind. I can't believe there's only one more yo go and I can't wait to see how it all turns out.

Kari's journey in Allwyn so far has been a tough journey, with no real breaks for her and her guys as they are constantly on watch for Ariana's next move. And let's be honest, she's pretty relentless and desperate at this point. There have already been so many attacks and warnings, both by herself and by those she has under her control, including Kari's mate, Kiaran to let Kari know that she will never give up and that Kari has what she is so desperate for.
In the previous books in this series, the true reasoning behind Ariana's desire for power was never mentioned completely. Some of her plans, yes, but never the "why" to it all. In this book we finally get some answers! Ariana's past wasn't an easy or safe one and we got to see the catalyst behind her evil plan, the event that started it all. I think what was so great about this was that we got to see Kari make a comparison between herself and Ariana. Are they that much different? Both have had something completely out of their control taken away from them, something they loved, and it destroyed them. However, with this, you also get to see the different approaches people can take when traumatic events like that happen to them changing the course of their lives. Do they push through, adjust their plans and attitudes, and continue on living their life, trying to find their own happiness in a new way, or do they take the more self destructive approach and look for vengeance in any way possible, hardening their hearts and looking for an outlet that will cause the most damage in hopes of gaining back what they once lost? Surely what happened to Ariana was a bit more devastating than Kari losing her dancing career, as she was viewed as completely less than in all ways and treated as such, but maybe there could have been a way to avoid some of it so she could have had a better future. She sure does make a great villain though.
Kiaran's part in these books also stepped up a notch in this current book. His POVs were very enlightening and it was fascinating to see how Ariana's power affected him. You get to see a lot of back and forth and confusion from what he knows to be true and what Ariana is forcing him to think and feel. Moments of clarity mixed with glazed over blankness made him a very interesting character. I liked to see him combat Ariana's grasp on him any way he possibly could until it finally got too difficult for him. He's such a strong character and I know he will be a powerful addition to Kari and her fae mates in their battle against Ariana. I can't wait to see what happens next with Kari and Ariana. Will she finally be stopped?

Devyn is a new to me author and I am so excited I stumbled upon her! After reading A Point of No Return, I was hooked on her style of reading and immediately checked out her Carnal Courts Series. Our FMC is Kari and unfortunately she’s still in danger! Sheesh sometimes a girl needs a break. This is truly a page turner, and leaves you wanting for more but we’re left waiting on book 6!
I love how book 5 centered around strength, choices and growth, both individually and together. Abandon is such an amazing book and addition to the Carnal Courts series, I’m excited for book 6 and can’t wait for it to come out!

Book 5 was on par with the rest of the series and just as good. Kari is still in danger and battling with herself and the choices she needs to make. Her determination and love is aspiring. I love seeing how all of her relationships develop and the continuing growth of her inner strengths.
My favorite part of the book centers around choice and it’s a life lesson I think we all need. Choices are just that, a choice. They aren’t good or bad they just ARE, however, each choice has its own repercussions.

So good!
I really enjoyed this book. Kari goes through a lot while in Ariana's but Kari is strong and helped by the Goddess' power. Kiaran has suffered so much and for so long because of Ariana. I cannot wait until they get her. I love how everything turned out in the end. I love that the guys do not blame Kiaran for what he has done since he had no control and are willing to give him time and a chance to prove himself. I found this book to be over too soon. I can't wait for the conclusion.

Addictive
Oh no ! I thought this was the final book. Lol.... another cliffy!!
Anyway, loved this book as much as the previous ones in the series. Kari and her mates are finally united together against all odds. The bits with kieran and the agonizing treatment Kari went through at Ariana's hands was heartbreaking. Though Ariana's story is pitiful, it in no way justifies what she's been doing and I for one cannot wait to see what karma has in store for her.

This was a great installment of the series about Kari, Aeric, Brae, Kent, Verys, Urien, & Kiarian! Kari & Kiaran are together, but at what cost? Yes, if you like PNR, Fae, different Fae dimensions, murder attempts, & fated mates then this is the series for you!

Abandon is such a great addition to the Carnal Courts series and a great continuation of the story! AHHHHH!!!!!
I am so happy with how this book ended! Kiaran deserved his chance at happiness even if it feels fleeting right now and I am excited to see how they continue to grow as a whole because they've been through soooo much. This book is my favorite so far mainly because I really needed Kiaran to have his moment and I got it. ❤️

Doing a joint review for the whole series. First off never had a book with my name in it so obviously going to love the FMC just for repping my name lol. Seriously though Kari and her men gave me all the feels. Smiles, laughs and actually cried with Lari when she was in the closet. I felt that scene in my bones. Devyn does a great job with painting a picture. I have never wanted to be in a fictional realm as much as I did this. The crystal court sounded STUNNING! Great quick reads!

Book 5 does not disappoint. I feel that in this book we find an emphasis on the strength of our main character. She deals with so much emotion in this book, as well as questioning her choices. I enjoyed this one and cannot wait for book 6!

This was a new series for me and I was hooked from book one!! I love watching Kari and her men grow through the series and how they handle everything they encounter. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!! Definitely a great series by a very talented author!

Great way to finish this series and I really enjoyed the whole book from start to finish. It has such amazing characters that you don't get bored of and I am in awe of the plot. It's fun, exciting and action packed. Great read!

Just absolutely stunning book! One of my absolute favorite authors and her world building is top notch. You get so invested in the story you forget you have daily life outside the book. I think this series is one of her best!

Saving love
This series was the first I have read by this author. I absolutely love this world and it’s characters. The Heroine is one of strength and equal love for all of her mates. Can’t wait to see where this series finishes and how they’ll conquer the villain!

This book was randomly much shorter than the others, and it didn't feel like a full book. I'll read the sixth one if I remember/Amazon reminds me when it's out, but it's hard to still be invested after so much fluff keeps getting in the way.

I can’t decide if I feel this is a book too many in the series. I did enjoy the book though and the not too surprising outcome with RH members but didn’t see how it would come about. Looking forward to what I now know is the last book in the series.

Such an amazing continuation of the story. Our FMC gets stronger and has such a rollercoaster of feelings in this book she questions everything. I cant wait for the next book.

4⭐️ finally we get some motive for our bad guy. Learning the “why” is nice and I’m glad we finally get more time with Kairan. I’m excited to see how this series ends in the next book.

This book had me in an emotional choke hold! An absolute emotional rollercoaster! Kari is an incredibly strong character and I love her resilience and determination! Great writing again! Can't wait for the next one!

Sacrificing herself to keep those that she loves safe, she thinks that she’s doing the right thing—but is she? Can she escape Ariana, or is this it? Will her men be able to forgive her for what she’s done? Only time will tell.
This book is by far my favorite of the series. It’s an easy, action-packed read. It hit me in the feels, and I think things might finally be taking a better turn for Kari—or at least I one can hope.
