This short novella started off promising, way too prosy with more descriptions of fish than needed in a quick read, but a decent premise. Then at the end of chapter five the whole thing fell apart. The story jumped forward in time and was told 90% through inner monologues. Very little dialogue and actual action happened. Huge pieces of the story were missing and left untold. The reader is forced to guess at how this deep connection is made between the characters because we are not shown it. The title is completely misleading as well, very little sex happens in the book, much of it is fade to black. This is not a soaking wet beach quickie, it’s a dry, boring and confusing bit of droning angst. Do not recommend. Do not waste your time and money.

Quinn fell in love with Harlan Griffith her dads best friend when she was a young shy teenager and had no idea what love really was, his passion for the ocean fueled her own. So when he offers to pay her for housesitting during her school break she jumps at the chance. Being in his home is giving her fantasy’s she had never dared to imagine before, knowing what she is doing could not be more wrong she decides to break the only rule he’d given her to stay out of his room, picking the lock it’s not long before she’s rolling around his bed bathing in his scent. Unknowingly tripping his security alarm, she finds herself staring into his eyes, the eyes that know exactly what she just did in his bed. What she sees in her eyes is not disgust but desire, a dark desire she wants to explore just with him, will he succumb to his desire and make her his or is she travelling a road leading only to heartbreak?

Harlan Griffiths had more money than god, choosing to spend it on his life passion saving the ocean. He needed someone to house sit for him and when his best friend suggested his daughter Quinn, the shy girl whom could barely talk to him he agreed. So he was shocked when his alarm tripped in his bedroom and even more shocked when he discovered what she was doing on his bed. She awoke something in him that he had thought was dead a long time ago, his need to punish her was strong and so were the feelings that she evoked in him. But he is way too old for her, an introvert like him could never keep up with what she must want to do so he does the only thing he can think of and pushes her away. He realises his mistake almost immediately, is it possible he’s lost a love he never knew existed and if he has can he save it before it’s too late?

Short and sweet with everything that I have come to expect from this author. Recommended 4* read.

I thought that Quinn and Harlan were great together with their forbidden connection and chemistry. Harlan is twice as old as Quinn and is Quinn's father's best friend. These two are brought together when Harlan needs a house sitter but they become so much more. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it and Ms. Regina as a wonderful author.

I enjoyed this romance story with all of the characters. The two main characters were Quinn and Harlan.

Quinn is going to college and learning about sea creatures. While on spring break she is house sitting for her dad's best friend. She happy to house sit for this guy because she has a crush for him. Since she in his home she does a little exploring and finds out the his room is locked.

Harlan Griffith is away on a business trip and has his best friend daughter that is house sitting. While on the plane trip home he is notified that someone in his room. When he see the video he discovers something surprising.

This was a fun short story to read. It had action, adventure, and surprises. It had a few giggles throughout to. I was a little bit steamy to.

Harlan is best friends with the father of Quinn and allows her to housesit for him during her last spring break. His bedroom is locked, with a camera alert that goes to his phone, because of valuable fish. When Quinn gets into his bedroom and lays on his bed, he sees and decides to surprise her. The two start a relationship that ignites quickly, but Harlan backs off with worry about her dad and the age difference.
The characters were great, with intense feelings, similar interests and determination. The storyline flips when they separate, but more surprises on the way when daddy arrives. Love their chemistry and banter. Great ending and future.

Regina Wade has been a favorite author of mine for some time now. She has a way of grabbing onto her readers from the 1st page to the last. Her characters are so delightfully flawed that you can't help cheer for their happily ever after. Harlan and Quinn's story is one of not believing that you could ever have the one person that you have loved for so long. You will be sorry if you miss this 1st book in the series!.

Wanted more but still a good read.

I liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable. There were some things that I felt could have been expanded on to make this a great story. Harlan was great and I felt like he could have been more alpha. Quinn was a quiet introvert that was secretly in love with someone that she was sure didn’t know and couldn’t return her feelings. Even with the age-gap, Harlan and Quinn were very similar and at peace when they were together. I liked how the story ended but I did want more. I recommend reading this book, you may like it more than I did.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Quinn Darcy & Harlan Griffith. Quinn is supposed to house sit for Harlan for Spring Break. She however has had a crush on him for years now and finds this a way to look at his inner sanctum. Little does she know when she breaks into his bedroom there are eyes on her. Harlan can't believe that Quinn broke into his bedroom. He had already seen her in his house admiring his aquatic collection. When she goes to his bedroom he isn't sure what shark she is looking for there. Can these two find a HEA or will the age gap and Harlan being her dad's best friend make that impossible?

Amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Not a good novella

Disappointed in this book. Kind of silly really. I mean the concept is good and the characters are okay but the story should have been stretched out a little more. Let us get to know the characters a little longer. Too much inane inward chatter from the characters that was unbelievable.

Two people are thrust together in what could be the most humiliating day of Quinns life. It takes a dramatic and quite surprising turn that sets the tone of the entire Story.
Can Dreams come true for Quinn and Billionaire Harlan? I won’t spoil it!
I didn’t want this story to end! Great characters and the author does an amazing job of setting the scene. I will definitely be reading more from this talented author.

DNF -- Offensive with No Warning . . .

Quinn Darcy has had a crush on her dad’s friend, Harlan Griffith, for years. It appears that he is now seeing her as an adult. He is having her house-sit for him while he is out of town since she is on Spring break. But he has an awesome world-class aquarium collection in his bedroom and she majors in oceanography, so she is eager to see the tanks. She trespasses into his room to look at his shark, not knowing that his high-tech security system alerted him and he is watching her every move on the camera. What else is he going to see her doing?

Then when he comes homes, the book swerves into his “dark desires” and her “need for punishment” and I exited the offensive story line at that point. If this is your “thing”, enjoy the book. But this is something I cannot tolerate and I am angry when not warned. I accepted it for review only because I looked for the WARNINGS and saw nothing about kink, punishment/discipline, spanking and such. And I’m getting very upset at the casual attitude that this stuff is “normal”. Not in my world. Warn me. I see warnings for the most innocent of topics. But abusive “punishment” of a grown-up is glossed over. That is not sexy. It is not love. It is not corrective. And many people find it downright offensive!

Regina Wade’s newest book is definitely a MUST READ!! Every book she writes is better than the last… and that saying something because each one has been a 5⭐️ read for me! Her writing is fantastic, her characters well developed, her balance of steam and story perfection, and her endings are happy every time! I couldn’t get enough of Harlan and Quinn and once you read this book you will see why.

This book has both the age gap and dad’s best friend tropes nailed. The author makes sure to include the hesitation that these can cause and how they work through it. Harlan is Quinn’s dad’s best friend. She’s always had a crush on him but now that she’s an adult her feelings have only grown. These two characters are alike in personality. Introverts, ocean enthusiasts, quiet but with an inner Dom/sub side. When Quinn house sites for Harlan over Spring Break, things take a turn for these two. This book has the hottest break in ever, the steamiest scenes, and the sweetest ending. I highly recommend reading this book!!.

Quinn can't believe her luck when she gets asked to housesit for her father's best friend and her secret love interest. She finally gets to see Harlan's house and his custom aquariums. Harlan is who got her interested in oceanography. Spring Break is looking up especially after she gets to see Bruce, the rescue shark.
Harlan can't quite believe what he is seeing on his tablet screen as he watches Quinn break into his inner sanctuary, but the more he watches the more he wants to be there in person. It's a long drive home.
Harlan confronts Quinn about some of her feelings, but he can't quite trust that she would want to be with someone twice her age for the rest of her life. Quinn is so very shy that she finds it hard to convince Harlan that she knows what she is doing and that her love knows no boundaries. Read to see if these two introverts can finally get on the same page and find a fulfilling ending.

As a college student majoring in oceanography she wants to see his aquariums and everything in them. Quinn is an introvert, but intelligent, curvy, smart and quite. Harlen is big, hunky, millionaire who enjoys being at home with his aquariums. When Harlan gets an alert from his security camera he becomes a little crazy. He is coming back early and what will he find? This story is entertaining, sexy, steamy and has some major bumps in their path. Can they get on the same page with their emotions and love? It’s crazy but loved, loved the ending!.

Harlan was headed home when he received a notification that someone was in his room at his house. Able to watch the feed, Harlan watches the shy Quinn on his bed and now was could not wait to get home

Harlan was ready to yell at Quinn before he walked in, but once seeing her, he changed his plans. This is hot and steamy tale that will have you fanning yourself as Harlan take charge of things.

Everyone needs a French Angelfish in their life
This book is about Quinn and Harlan. She’s been in love with him ever since she knew what love is. So a week of house-sitting his place over her spring break is the perfect opportunity to immerse herself in his home. As she explores with wonder and curiosity, Quinn is tempted to get into his bedroom, predominantly to see the shark he keeps in there. But once she is able to break into his personal space, she can’t help but get into his bed and fantasise about him. Little does she know that he’s watching her via his security cameras. She also has no idea just how enamoured he is with her! I give this book four stars.

A well-written quick to read novella, fun and steamy. Both Quinn and Harlen are wonderful characters, Quinn is housesitting Harlen's house while it's spring break. She's been in love with her father's bff since she knew what love meant, now older and left alone in his amazing house with gorgeous fish tanks, Quinn comes out her shell. Fast-paced and steamy. The author has given us a wonderful older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Harlan and Quinn and does not let go. They try to fight their connection due to the age difference as well as having to tell her father/his best friend how they feel about each other.
