This tore my heart to shreds, crushed my soul and completely messed with my head. That ending has broken me, I’ve sat here for 10 minutes sobbing. The flood gates are well and truly open.
Bully, Why Choose, Secret Society will always be a fave of mine and this has become one of my favourites. There is so much mind fuckery, spicy scenes, ✨group activities✨, betrayal, sexual tension and chemistry. the plot twists completely threw me off and had my head spinning. like fuck me they come out nowhere! I didn’t know who to trust, who to believe and what was the truth and what was lies. Even now I’m in disbelief of all of it. It was so thrilling and the story flowed so well, pulled me in and I didn’t want to leave. If you want a dark, bully, why choose romance that will turn you upside down then I definitely recommend this!

I was given an ARC copy of this book, and I wizzed through it! It is a great read! Bo is a strong female lead -which I love she has so much sass and takes no prisoners! I enjoyed her relationship with all the guys my favourite being Rafe -you just can’t not fall for this guy! Frost had an amazing redemption and I was really sad at his ending. This book is great if you like academy and bully troupes but I would recommend checking triggers before reading

I'm on onr of my dark romance academia kicks and this looked up my alley....!

And it ticked all the boxes...
Bo was a strong and fierce female who kept this part of her personality despite the attempts to bully it out of her.

Of course the "Gods" were rich, good looking guys who had annoying whiny "queen bee" status....

It was very much your classic dark bully academia read... Whuch is what I wanted, dint get me wrong, but done surprises are always nice, which were sadly lacking..

But saying that, I happily grabbed the 2nd book to finish the reading and see what happens!

Tatum is one of my favorite authors and knows how to pack so much into one book but can destroy you in a matter of sentences and damn did she do it again. Bo is a badass FMC who never backs down from any of her bullies. While this book has a harem, it is more about the storyline and building the world and characters. I would love to see more of these characters however that ending left me in pieces so I’m not sure I how I’m going to recover but there are still a lot of loose ends. I think there is so much more to do with these characters and maybe there will be more! We can only hope that we haven’t heard the last of Bo and her guys.

Was it just me or did it feel like the end was totally rushed??? I was going great then at the end with 5 min left HUGE things happed with no detail or explanation? Things that should have had pages if not a chapter to explain was just done in a sentence. Truly shocked!
Took this from a 4 star to 1 star for me.

This would have been 3 stars but the many spelling and grammatical mistakes really got in the way of reading it.

I kinda feel like everything was just rushed at the end to get it all answer and the very end felt like a cop out to be honest

So by the time I got to 20% I was already losing interest. Only thing that kept me going was all the former reviews. I'm now over 50% and officially calling it a DNF. This one just wasn't for me.

This book is an intriguing combination of bully romance, an academy setting with a little reverse harem, and a kick-ass heroine. The author does include a little suspense and intrigue into the story. This book is a real page-turner if you like new adult fiction with some steam and these tropes. I absolutely love Bo's character. She is feisty, snarky, and a little damaged. Of course, she attracts the Gods' attention at Black Frost Academy. This group of bad boys goes from being mean bullies to swoony boyfriends, or at least most of them. I love how the authors brought the school cliques to light and highlighted them in the story. But I still can't figure out how her past, her aunt, and his father tie into this story. This story does get dark. I didn't expect that ending at all, but what a story!

I love the quote at the beginning of the book from Bo walker, but then we start the first chapter from their point of view. Intriguing Bo is a female character; she is British, bad-tempered, and doesn't fit society's mold. Her life as she knows it has just been upturned, and she isn't ready for the rich and pompous.

She meets a mysterious man who enchants her but doesn't seem to catch his name. Omg, I love this chick; her sarcasm, views, and ability to back it up are fabulous. Her first impression of the Black Frost Academy and its Gods (stuck up ) students aren't great. Still, I love her actions and reactions to the bullying they try, she meets Mr. mystery man, and he happens to be one of the hottest guys in school.

Oh, exciting, we get his point of view as well; so far, I think he is a really hot Alpha-Hole. Bo has a tough exterior, but she also has a traumatic past and deals with survivors' guilt. I don't think the bullying is actually helping her any, but I love that she doesn't conform.

This book gets twisted as outside forces decide fates, and the Gods get jealous. Bo is in a deep mess with her psycho aunt and these men at her school. This book gets steamy as it turns into less bullying and more reverse harem. This gets very twisted as secrets and hidden warnings come to light. Unfortunately, the bullying is still happening as one of these bad boys can't seem to pull his head out of his butt.

I didn't expect that twist, and I'm not sure how it will play out. Just wow, I didn't expect that ending at all. Yes, I cried or at least was teary-eyed thru parts of this book. What a story! This book has a lot of ups and downs, but the plotline has come a long way, as do the characters.

So this one was hard to rate… the storyline was… okay/good. I mean, I’ve read it a ton of times- high school or college. Bully. Some secret club or society that makes their sons do unspeakable things to women. Rich ancestor nobody knows about until a death in the family. RH. That’s all fine and dandy. Some of my favorite tropes that I am always on the lookout for.

The reason I didn’t rate this higher is because I felt like this book was written by a teenager. It just came off as very juvenile. The internal dialogue from the fmc seemed like she was trying too hard to be tough/cool/funny/idk… but it was awkward a lot of times. Very cringey.

Some of it just didn’t make sense. The whole ex boyfriend finding her from across the sea? Like really? Beating her up in the quad out of nowhere because she… left him? Frost being literally crazy? And Jade. She was a friend. Bo saved her… she seemed real. Then all the sudden she’s wearing heels and with Titan and climbing the social ladder? Then with Frost in front of everyone to spite her? No. That was just out of nowhere and dramatic.

Rafe is the only one who seemed into her and then all of a sudden Deacon comes out of nowhere all sexy alpha and Knox is sweet and caring? Rafe puts in the work and they reap the benefits haha.

And also… this book is in need of some SERIOUS editing. Whoa. Did it even get any rereads?? There were a few instances where timelines didn’t match up or something happened and then was contradicted. Not a super big deal. Then Bo was beat up super bad by her ex and strangled by Frost and the next day Mrs. Janette and Axel don’t even say anything to her? Okay. Moving on.

The amount of times an apostrophe or comma were not used properly was crazy… but not as crazy as the amount of times words were misused (one example- depraved for deprived). Some of the times it was due to British dialogue (like “them boys” or “me” instead of “my”)… but I am not even talking about those times. I think almost every instance the word “to” should have been written, it was “too”. Which was. A. Lot. The wrong “there” as well. “No” was used for “know”. The wrong “your”. “He” instead of “his”. Those are simple and easy things that should have been caught right away.

Then we have the ending. That was definitely rushed and just for shock value. It was like death. The end. Read my next book?

I liked it, but the ending was a mess. There are a lot of things that didn’t make sense. First of all Jade, no explanation whatsoever. One chapter they were friends, the next they were not. Also titan with jade doesn’t make sense. No explanations of when they suddenly became a thing. Frost becoming psychotic, like what the fuck. I can understand the progression of Rafes relationship with Bo. But Knox and Deacon kind of hitched a ride into the relationship with Rafe who actually tried to earn Bo’s trust. I don’t know how the relationship is in anyway stable but whatever. I can’t figure out the reason behind Matthew showing up, I guess trauma gives more depth to her story, but why make a cameo appearance at the school just to beat her up and what... go on a vacation. Honestly the only consistent characters in this goddamn book is Mrs Janette, Peabody and Wankstein.
I forgot about Axel, like I think he was added just for the numbers - the more the merrier.

What I really like about this book is Bo. Every book says that they have a strong bad ass female character, but most of the time they are doormats and is clouded by the male characters good looks, she becomes stupid as fuck. Which honestly is quite disappointing to see. But Bo was honestly awesome. Even in her ‘weak’ moments, she was relatable. I like how she stood up for Jade and cut her off when switched loyalty, but still showed feelings of sadness and betrayal. How she felt conflicted when she saw Jade being treated badly by Titan.

Even with questionable plots and characters, I really liked reading from a strong girls POV, hence why the 4 stars. I’ve been disappointed by other ‘strong female characters’ that I entirely enjoyed this book just because of Bo.
Also I have to mention the unstable plots about Cassandra and King Frosty and Titan. Like either make them relevant enough and include them more in the plot or get rid of them entirely. Titan was like a filler, because the author clearly needed to ruin his character (not that it was great to begin with) and hurt Bo more for some apparent reason.
Anyways, I enjoyed the book until the last 6-10 chapters. I won’t be reading the next book though. The plot wasn’t written out well enough for me to read another book.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

I just read this in 6 straight hours.

This is my first book from Tatum and I can't wait to read more! I don't even know where to start. Bo is the most badasss FMC I've read in a long time. She's so strong and resilient after everything she's gone through in her life. I was so excited that she found a friend when she first showed up to BFA but it didn't take long before I wanted Jade to fall down the stairs and land on legos. Tiffany can join her. How someone can do what she did after everything Bo did for her blows my mind. I absolutely love Rafe, Knox, and Deacon. I love how each has their own personalities and all connect with Bo in their own way. Axel coming into the equation was the cherry on top. Ms. Jeanette stole my heart, I love that she treated Bo like her own family and took care of her. Everyone should have someone like that in their life. There are so many ups and down in this book that you start to get whiplash but it's soooo worth it! IDK how I feel about Frost. I hated him through the whole book but i suppose he did kind of redeem himself at the end. A little. I still hate him for everything he did, even if it was at the command of his father. Sometimes you need to walk away from a situation and sacrifice yourself just to be the better person. I can't wait to read Return to BFA, I need to know what happens next!

Thank you for the incredible world building, Tatum!

WTF! This is one hell of an intense and insanely emotional bully romance story that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. It’s dark, gritty, depraved, violent, sexy and the characters are completely unhinged (some way more than others). The story takes us readers down a crazy rabbit hole of decadent and wicked dark deliciousness that I never wanted to crawl out of. My heart was continually ready to burst out of my chest, I wanted to scream and shout throughout, and I definitely needed to take a few cold showers to cool off. I could not put this story down.

Bo – damn this woman – she’s feisty, sassy, badass and takes absolutely no crap from anyone. She is not afraid to stand up to the school bullies and seek vengeance and retribution on those that do her wrong. She is a MF Queen!

The Gods of Frost Academy really had me wanting to beat them all, especially Frost (what a douche canoe he is) but man he had my panties melting with his filthy, dirty, depravity and his “she’s all mine” attitude.

There are so many secrets layered into this story, but we only uncover a few of them. I can’t wait until we get answers to what transpired in Bo’s past, who her aunt really is and why does Frost’s dad have such a hate on for Bo. I need more answers and I need them now!

This story was twisted in every way and that ending – DAMN – not expecting that at all! I loved every deliciously dark and twisted second it and I can’t wait to read what comes next.

Okay….b r e a t h e…..In out…in out.

…I am disappointed in the way this book was written/processed or possibly over or under planned.

This author has the potential to be G R E A T.

However, the downfall is “the more, the merrier” thinking. In this case LESS would have been so much MORE! This just KILLS me 😭🤦🏻‍♀️😫😕!!!!

Everything—and I do mean everything was crammed into this little nugget 🤦🏻‍♀️. Chaotic clusterfuck.

I liked the first half of the book the most. I enjoyed the bully aspect. The FMC and MMC were great characters that fed off each other and then BOOM! EVERYTHING under the sun had to be added to the book for god only knows why. Completely ruined it for me. Lost me around 75%…took me quite a bit of time to get through the second half. Then the ending…ugh what a chaotic disappointment. By then I was thinking to myself why not?!?!🤷🏻‍♀️—just throw in a little more bullshit to this shit show of a second half.

I am not going to read the second book because honestly I have no interest in the story going forward. Sorry—not sorry. I would consider reading more from this author because like I said previously, she could be great. However, without a rewrite and editing of the first of this duet I cannot continue…it’s never gonna happen—just no.

My head is still spinning after reading this book! Wow. I’m not really sure how to feel after all that! 🤯

This dark, rh, bully romance was fast-paced and so full of twists and turns it was impossible to predict how it was all gonna play out until the very last page. I can honestly say this book blindsided me several times throughout.

I really liked Bo’s character. She’s a feisty, strong, independent woman who won’t take crap from anybody and won’t back down from a challenge. However, I’m still not sure how to feel about the guys. I mean, by the end of the book you could clearly see they all care deeply for Bo, but I felt like it was such an abrupt change how they went from treating her like dirt to worshiping her like a queen. In fact, I actually felt like a lot of the character’s feelings and emotions would suddenly take a 180 and it was a bit confusing and a little hard to keep up with at times.

But overall I really liked the storyline and enjoyed all the angst and drama and how completely unpredictable the whole book was! I’m really looking forward to Return to Black Frost Academy because I truly don’t know what to expect or where the story could possibly go from here!

TITLE: Black Frost Academy
GENRE: New Adult Romance
AUTHOR: Tatum Rayne
TROPE: Enemies-to-Lovers, Why-Choose
TYPE: Duet Series (Black Frost Academy Book 1)
POV: Multiple POV
MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

⚠️ Check the trigger warnings, as some triggering events happen in the storyline.

After losing her parents, Bo is forced to leave the UK to live with her wealthy Aunt in America and attend Black Frost Academy. Unfortunately for Bo, she seems to have caught the attention of the campus Gods, Frost, Rafe, Knox & Deacon, and the other campus God struggling to rule the school, Titan.

I enjoyed the storyline, which I felt moved at a good pace. I liked Bo, who was somewhat strong with her fighting spirit while having weaker moments affected by traumas from her past. The ending was a bit abrupt, but I am sure it will make more sense with the second book in the duet. I am giving a rating of 4 / 5 Stars.

It's okay. The story is kinda unbelievable and childish, but I can see what they were trying to do. I don't like the love interests at all except for maybe the final one introduced at the very end, and a lot of the side characters feel unnecessary. I think that there is no build up from enemies to lovers and there's no real reason for their connections it seems very random, they just go from hating each other and being rude and cruel to being overprotective and ride or die out of nowhere. I kept reading to see where it went, but it didn't get any better for me, and I found a lot of the story a bit rash and sporadic. Don't get me wrong, I've read some dark, depraved books and a fair few bully romances, but I just didn't vibe with this one. I'm not going to read book 2 as I just don't think this series is for me. I did like the house keeper though and the main character isn't bad herself. She's got a good personality.

Has potential to be really good but needs some editing. A definite bully RH and had some great characters. The ending kinda makes you go wtf?
My biggest issue was some areas of the timelines. Knox gets his arm broken yet he’s able to do a lot of things where a broken arm would make it not possible and it’s only briefly mentioned as a side note about a week later that the cast was off. Bo gets the crap beat out of her by an ex boyfriend after being severely choked by Frost yet the next day she’s in class like nothing happened. Deacon, Rafe and Knox all terrorize her and then all of a sudden they are all in love with her. What happened to the ex boyfriend? What happened to Jade? Tritan was killed after assaulting her, and Frost’s dad? Did he die or just Frost?
With a little editing this could be a good book, but I did finish it with a lot of questions lol.

Honestly my thoughts and feelings are all over the place with this book. Frost was one of those characters that I wanted to hate and most of the time did but then those moments came where I loved him well loved might be a strong word I liked him immensely. No was an amazing FMC she is fun feisty sassy and gives zero F’s and I loved her for it. There is SOOOOOOO much that happens in this been and that freaking ending I am really not sure how I’m feeling shocked pi$$ed a bit of whyyyyy are you freaking kidding me yea I just don’t know… this baby had me by the snatch from beginning to end and I definitely recommend!!!!

Vile rich people

This was a story in itself. My word.
At first I was not going to finish it because of the British dialogue, but I'm glad I did
Bo the Brit is at the mercy of her aunt. Why? No one knows. The lovely girl from England that doesn't belong, but does she?
The Gods, or so they think. The biggest bunnies of them all.
Now with out giving things away, this is your average prep school bully story. It plays out the way you would think, but throw in the bike parents and it's another book, yet there was something a tad bit different about this one. It doesn't end like you would imagine.

Not what I thought.

So what to say I 've tried a few of these books before, but they didn't take the new girl > the bully bad boys never seem to do it for me, but this was something else, I will say it might not be for the faint hearted as it's a no holds barred book, as no nice words for bad things it was open and honest dealing with some sensitive subjects, but it was well done and with feeling and care. Would also say thank as reading this got me into Tata James, as well. Can't wait to read the next one and I'm hoping Bo and her boys are going to make the bad guys pay, but time.

this book was amazing. it had great plot and is written in several POV's. There were so many twists and turns I couldn't keep up and I was here for it.

this is a strong FMC who is an 18 yr old orphan taking in by a distant aunt. she is forced to go to school and immediately makes an impression and catches the attention of the 4 boys that rule the school. Then FMC has one through so much I actually felt for the character.

I highly recommend this book.

4.5/5 great story, lots happening, lots of trauma!

This was a great story with fantastic characters. There is a heck of a lot going on in here, it sometimes felt a bit disjointed, there's also a lot of trauma and an ending you won't see coming. Check the trigger warnings, there is some seriously messed up actions by some of the characters, they are not nice people.
If it wasn't so disjointed in places this would be a 5 star read, but it's still 4.5/5 and I can't wait to see what happens next.

I don't know what's going on lately with the reverse harem books I've read. I don't know if it's that having read only that genre for so long has meant that I can't find a good story anymore, or if rh books were never any good to begin with.

So far they've all (including this one) felt like I was reading one of the many poorly written books on wattpad. The writing in this one is so embarrassing and childish that I really don't understand why it has such high ratings. Seriously, if I could gouge my eyes out, I would.

Yet another book to the long list of abandoned.

Entering the world of Black Frost Academy is not something to do lightly. If you like Dangerous bad boys and a snarky FMC them this is the book for you.

Bo has been moved thousands of miles away from her home only to be made to live with an over bearing aunt and attend an elite school for trust fund babies. What chaos could ensue from this? Jump in and join Bo as she navigates her world, learns who she can and can't trust and reveals some secrets along the way.

I never felt like there was a part in the book that I would have been able to stop at to continue later. I just kept needing to know what happened next. I love books like this. This book had me feeling all of the emotions. I mean all of the emotions. I need more.

Bo is my hero

If you're a fan of enemy to lovers or mafia vibes then this read is for you. The author pulls you in the storyline by making the reader relate to characters. Bo is the LFC full of sass that can kick @ss. Bonus additions, the gods, the 4 men you think you have figured out, but the end will twist it all around. What a well written storylinenthat kept me hooked needing more with as hell RH scene.

Hello surprise book...

I enjoy a good female lead Bo, she sassy and quite witty, and the trouble she find herself in is very corner she turns, always dealing with dangerous men.

It was sexy, sinful, and a page-turner. A wild ride and definitely worth reading. Don't forget to fall down the rabbit hole.

XOXO Lottie.
