I've been waiting months for this book to come out. I was absolutely blown away by the first volume, and I can firmly state that this one is even better than the first. I love the banter between the characters, it seems exactly like how people really talk. You would think that a story like this would become a bit repetitive - drive a little, get attacked, find some stuff and repeat...but the different groups of people they encounter and the interactions they have are so wonderfully inventive and varied, it keeps you wanting to see what happens next. I did see some reviews on the first book that talked about the cursing and how they didn't like it...but seriously, this is an end of the world story...I think dropping the f-bomb is acceptable. I also noticed a few people didn't like the fact that it seemed like the two main female characters were becoming romantically involved, even though they were both previously married...first off...that does happen in the real world, so get over it...secondly, I noticed the author addressed that in a conversation between them, which I absolutely loved. I think at a time like the one portrayed in the book, you simply want some human kindness and contact, regardless of 'social norms', especially when society has been destroyed. To sum it up: Fantastic, exciting, imaginative, funny and heartbreaking...all at the same time. Can't wait to see the next one!!

Would have been a 5

Love this series ,but no reason to make the characters in this book turn to find compassion with the same sex. Really a put off for me ,especially with such a well written book. All the winking back and forth ,then the touching in front of her daughter. Put off by this big time

For book 2, there are no more looks into the past, it’s very focused on this group being on their journey. They make a few friends along the way, there are funny moments, lots of heart-breaking scenes, some action and of course, non-stop challenges. A fun read, despite a few continuity issues.

Believable

I really like this story, I am enjoying the relationships building, and how some groups are being so successful, doing more than just surviving. I am looking forward to the next installment.

This is a really fun story to read. The group comes across a lot of interesting people on their journey west. Some are good and some not.

Lori and her crew continue their journey to Seattle. They visit a farmstead, a cancer care hospital and a retirement home. They meet many characters along the way. An interesting tale.

Nope. Characters and storyline didn't improve enough for me to want to continue with the series. Compared to other series, this band of survivors are practically on vacation across the country.

dentro do genero

Uma miscelania que se repete no genero e nao deixa muito à imaginação. Podia explorar alguns aspetos com maior pormenor.

Waiting for the next

Waiting for the 3rd book to come out. If not too far ahead then that will be next. If to long I'll move on to another series.

great read

Easy to read. Not a lot of characters so you get lost in remembering who’s who. Great story. Looking forward to the next book
