The leader of a southern rock group called the Smokey Hollow Band goes into a deep depression after his marriage disintegrates. His songwriting and his life come to a complete halt. With his career on a downhill slide, Don Livingston moves to the other side of the country to pull himself together and to get a fresh start. At the local market, Don meets Skylar and his first impression tells him she's a cop. He writes her off thinking a relationship with a cop is the last thing he wants or needs. Follow Don and Skylar as they make their way towards each other.
Would of been a higher rating if author would of finished it as a book. It felt like a book but last chapter went "insta-love" and done. No epilogue. Put just a little more effort and it's a well done book. I liked the characters and the setting and her no nonsense DEA job.
Loved this one. It’s very different to her other books I’ve read. Only disappointed it was so short! I really shouldn’t do novellas. Hope we learn more about Don and Skylar in subsequent books.
This is a completely different type of story than what I thought it would be but it is every bit as good to read. I'm looking forward to starting the next book.
