The Complete Breathe Me Duet

When you have three months to live...and all you want is to spend it with them...

They say that true love only comes once in a lifetime. In my case, they were wrong. I gave my heart away three times. To the blue eyed sensitive soul, who read poetry when he thought no one was looking. To the green eyed jock, who made you laugh as hard as he made you cry. And to the dark eyed boy, whose dark heart only ever beat for me. They were my everything, until suddenly they weren’t. They asked me to choose, but they were asking the impossible. Now it's my turn to ask for more than what they are willing to give. I only have three months left, and I just want to spend it with them. Will they accept my offer, or will four hearts live the remaining days of their lives in regret of what could have been?

The letters have been sent. All that remains is for me to wait. Wait to see if their hearts are still mine. Because for as long as mine beats, it will always belong to them. This boxset features Breathe Me and Breathe You from the bestselling Breathe Me Duet + A Never Before Seen Extended Epilogue

Funnily enough my mom read this prior to me picking this up and warned me it was a tearjerker. Even knowing this the book was so much more angsty and heartbreaking than I prepared for. There were some common issues that arise in the book that I figured would be the root to many of their problems in the relationship but they did have some twists which I appreciated. I do sometimes like being proven wrong :P This also made these particular situations (such as why she leaves them and the big secret she's keeping from them) resonate a bit different after the fact as I was truly expecting one thing only to be blindsided by something else. I definitely shed some tears more so in the second book and I'm pleased with the HEA we get. One thing I never got over was one of the men and that was Carter. Even at the end of the books I may hate him more and blame him for so many of their problems. I get that he's a self saboteur but hot damn buddy, you have to leave some things to chance. Instead he figured ruining everything was better than having it explode later on down the road and I can't quite forgive him for that. Luckily the heroine has two other men who I think are more worthy of her and deserve a HEA. This duet does end on a happy note which was a relief after the drama and heartbreak so if you're looking for a contemporary RH romance that will give you the feels, give this a shot!

It’s two-thirty in the morning and I’m left speechless. Truly. 5 stars with no questions. The love, the fear, the raw emotions that you have no choice but to feel while reading this duet was something else. The characters had so much depth, and growth throughout the entirety. The time jumps from past to present was just what was needed to tell this love story of Val and her men. Love is painful, but this book also made it beautiful. You’ll still have a heart salvageable after this traumatic rollercoaster 🖤

Talk about putting my heart on a roller coaster of emotions. The first book is such a heartbreakingly bittersweet yet beautiful read but the romantic in me was shouting out in the back of my brain please dont end how i think it will?? I struggled to keep the tears at bay whilst reading this book. I kept thinking Valentina (FMC), Logan, Carter & Quaid could just get over their hurt and misgivings they could have something really special together. They were so obviously all perfect for each other even if it would have been an unorthodox relationship to others.

Book 2 My heart was shattered and rebuilt in equal measure. Id happily go through that all again and put myself through that wringer to get that feeling of pure joy i got at the end of this book. All the tears were so worth it because my heart felt so much for Valentina, Carter, Quaid and Logan. A truly beautiful story of friendship, love, loss and forgiveness. I loved this duet of books so much that i truly wish i could give this book more than 5 stars because i definitely would. It was that good

The addition of the Epilogue (which was a great way to catch up on all the characters in this duet) and the Extended Scene was a hot little bit of steam that was more than welcome.

This duet will break your heart into a million pieces, then glue it back together and cuddle you!!!

The Breathe Me Duet is an emotional, sometimes heartbreaking yet beautiful love story. Valentina, Logan, Carter, and Quaid will have you rooting for them.

Carter, Logan and Quaid have been best friends for awhile and when Valentina moves onto their street when they were kids, she fit into their group perfectly and they fell in love with each other. But, things don't go as they thought.

Now after 10 years apart, they are all reunited again. Valentina just wants a little more time with the loves of her life, and when the guys learn what's going on, ugh my heart!!!

Make sure you have tissue handy for this one you guys!!! I couldn't get enough of Valentina and her guys. They go through so much and their love grows so much, my heart was fully invested, even though i have read this duet so many times.

This group is the definition of soulmates. I love this duet so much!!

CR Jane and Ivy Fox left me absolutely speechless with this one!!

DNF at 36%. The flashback chapters are boring. I tried skipping them, but then just felt blah about the whole story. Too much exposition and inner dialogue, not enough action.

I should've DNFd this, but I wanted to know what happened to the FMC in the end.

I picked this book up bc of the cover and unfortunately that's the only thing I liked about it.

I went into this fully expecting to be gutted, and it was well worth it. We travel through the lives of Valentina and her guys, from when they first met as teens into adulthood. They are her first loves and vice versa. It's that sweet, innocent, butterflies in your stomach kind of childhood love. It grows as they do, and becomes an all encompassing- can't sleep or eat- kind of love. A true love, soulmates. This was such a beautiful story and had become an instant favorite.

So many spoilers ahead

_________________

I hated the FMC she was so selfish and ridiculous in her inability to articulate herself. I could not get on her side.

The epilogue felt like it was to please people.

I felt betrayed for Carter, Logan and Quaid that we go through all that pain and suffering for he predicable HEA. I'm legit mad about it.

The 2 stars are for the gorgeous cover and the 3 MMC.

I normally like the authors work but between the people pleasing epilogue, the incorrectly sited poetry and the selfish FMC this wasn't one I'd read again.

The Breathe Me Duet is Now a Part of my Roman Empire

Last year I read my first C.R.Jane book. Her characters are those you dive head first into: the men are maddeningly alpha , the women are courageous complements to those men . The writing God gave her the ability to write soulmates so effortlessly , and feelings of the characters: if there is a panic attack , or blush or laughter you feel from your toes you are feeling it right along with them.
To say I will buy anything she writes now is an understatement.
This weekend in her reading group , someone wanted a rec for a book that makes you cry.
She jumped in and said "Breathe ME " That is all..no blurb, no tropes.

So I ran and clicked; and proceeded to read in one sitting.
With the soundtrack playing from Spotify on repeat.
And cried harder than I ever had in my life.

Somewhere at the 50% mark I sent her a message that this needs a full cast narration, by 74% I had sent a post copying the narrators that are my wish list .
Why this isnt already in audio is a crime.
This is award winning ..red carpet worthy #netflix needs to read and scoop it up.

" when you are young they assume you know nothing".
Think about your fave childhood friends to lovers book ..
If you loved Say You Swear or The Words ..this book will ecome your new fave.

Did you cry during "A Walk To Remember?" Or Beaches ?
Sorry you will need two boxes of tissues for this and the beauty of the setting of this book is the entire European continent, the best childhhod swimming spot , and every dream vacation you've ever wanted then amp it up more.

You have Carter (her soul) ..the world renowned photographer ; the bad boy , the grumpy to her sunshine .
Logan ..who was the king of her heart ; ( yes his intro song is King of my Heart ) by Taylor Swift ; brilliant Wall Street tycoon; I hear Jacob Morgan's voice reading the poem he wrote her in high school
And Quaid ..our high school QB gone NFL .. the man who was her life ..whose energy matched hers , who loved her father more than his own.

No why choose will bring you to your knees like this book .
They had all her firsts and her forever.
The only other thing I will say is I am making a new category the "best of the backlist" because this is underrated and should still be talked about ! And I know it will remain as my fave backlist book of 2024, and i will stop at nothing to get this to audio!

Phenomenal writing. Major Tear jerker. Be forwarned.

This is not your typical tropey romance novel. This was like poetry. It's rare I come across a book that results in me ugly crying but here we are. I am pretty sure I cried off and on the whole 600 pages.

So to start:
Spice/heat: 🌶🌶🌶/🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶(3/5)
Gore/violence (1/5)
Medium burn
F/MMM
Tropes: friends to lovers, coming of age, (while there are three male leads, it's a bit too complicated to call it a "why choose" type story. In fact choosing heavily factors)

The premise is exceptionally simple yet beautifully complex. The story toggles and forth between their youth together and then many years later in the "present".

When the main female character is 12 years old she moves to a new neighborhood where she promptly becomes best friends with 3 boys. And that friendship evolves over the years into something difficult to navigate as they mature.

What makes things level 100 on the angst-o-meter is we are made aware immediately in the first pages that in the present, years later, she's dying. And only has 3 months to live. And she wants to spend her final days with them. But she doesn't want to ruin their time together by letting them know she's dying. So we accompany these 4 people on a journey through the innocence and wonder and beauty of childhood friendships and crushes, first kisses and summers spent swimming all the way through now, as they journey through various cities across Europe completing a bucket list they wrote as children. It is the most heart wrenchingly beautiful story. I'm not sure I have ever read a story with three male romantic leads that is this moving and precious. There is plenty of steam but the story between the steam is strong.

And that's all I'm going to say. Don't read too many reviews. The potential for spoilers is to easy and this is not a story you want spoiled. Although there were times my face was wet with tears and I was blowing my nose and considering skipping to the epilog to see how it all ended. I was glad I did not. To do this story justice, you just need to feel right along with them.

I love that the ladies brought Valentina and her guys back. Their story is heartbreaking, emotional and full of love. It was amazing to dive back into.

Breathe Me is a soulful emotional book that rendered me speechless. I literally read and sobbed throughout Valentina's story and it was breathtaking. Valentina's story is not easy and it's sad at times, but it's the people that are in your corner that give you the strength to go on. But what happens when things change. Valentina, Logan, Carter and Quaid's story is a roller coaster of emotions and the ride is just starting. I can't wait for Breathe You. This book is a MUST READ!!

Heart Stompingly Beautiful!! The Breathe Me Duet is a unique one of a kind duet that has you begging for forgiveness, seeking a second chance and one more I love you. I loved Valentina's character ever since I read Breathe Me. Valentina is a strong person who endured so much but didn't let that get her down. Fated with the inevitable all she wanted was to have her boys Logan, Quaid and Carter one more time.

Breathe You rendered me speechless and I needed to read each page like I needed my next breath. I have never cried so much for characters in a book like I have with this story. Their story is so full of emotions, what ifs and what happens next. It truly made me stop and think because tomorrow is never guaranteed and if I was in my last days I know that I would want to be surrounded by the people that I love.

Valentina, Carter, Logan and Quaid went through hell and back. After one goodbye I was rooting for many more hellos for them to come. Music to me goes hand in hand when I read my books and one song stood out to me while reading this book, Amen by Amber Run. Listening to this song I felt like I could feel the pain that Valentine and her boys were going through even more. C.R. Jane and Ivy Fox wrote an incredibly beautiful story that had me begging for more by these two.

As Valentina said, "I love you. If tomorrow never comes, I need you to know that I love you,"

Soulmates. Logan was their heart, Carter was their soul, Quaid was their pulse, and Valentina was their everything. Until she walked away. They asked for the impossible and she couldn't give it to them. Now she's asking them to give her more than they may be willing to give. Three months to live. Love like they share doesn't come along in every lifetime. They wasted their opportunity. Now they have a second chance but forever is being denied. Valentina is about to leave them again; go where they cannot follow. If they lose her again, there will be no them. This duet and a new extended epilogue are now contained in one unforgettable book.

This duet is pure emotion. It made me ache. It took my breath away and made my heart pound. It destroyed me in the best way. I'm the reader that demands a HEA but that is not a full possibility, so I needed something different from this duet. I needed past hurts to heal, openness and honesty, for last moments to be shared. I needed to know that time doesn't matter, for love to be recognized. I needed to know that this matters; that it all meant something in the end. I needed to know that soulmates mean forever. There is a beauty to this story that destroyed me. Time and time again I had to put the book down and step away. I couldn't breathe, I read through glassy eyes, I felt each page so deeply. It was amazing. When I finished I felt like something special had taken place within the pages. These characters stole my heart. This is the story I've been waiting for. So very human. So many mistakes. So much wasted time. But more than anything, so much love. There was pain, anger, fear, and regret but never meanness.

**Please note: I try not to spoilers, but can't promise there will be none. So, read with cautious.**

This book was really hard to read. It's heartbreaking. And I usually don't read many books with much heartbreak, tragic and trauma, especially when I'm not sure if there is a HEA or not. I may not have any triggers, but some books, like this one, still hit me deep.

It was an emotional ride. The authors are excellent in writing such deep characters. And the connection they had was palpable. The Now and Then story telling confounded that effect.

I cried a lot. It's controversy, that I like to read books, which trigger emotions in me. Especially such that make me cry, because I know I will never forget those, and crying is really curing and cathartic.

The journey of Valentina, Logan, Quaid and Carter was one, about friendship, love, breaking/loss, but at the end, they are all pieced together again. And not to forget: Forgiveness and soulmates.

Especially, the soulmates are a big part of the story, and I truly believe everyone has one or more somewhere.

Overall, I couldn't stop reading it, even though I had to go through emotional hell, before I was fully put back together. And the (extended) epilogue was a great conclusion to that story. I loved it! 5 stars from me.

Heartbreakingly Beautiful

If you haven't already, then download this book. It is amazing and you won't regret it.

From the beginning of the first book, tears kept coming and I'm not usually a crying mess when reading, but with this duet... I most certainly was. From halfway through the second part, the years were constant. I felt my heart breaking, in the present and the past chapters, the pain and everything else just seemed so real. These authors are phenomenal.
This duet it's heart wrenching but so completely beautiful, crushing your heart but by the end, and the extra content it pieces it back together.
This is my second time reading these books and yet I wouldn't have imagined that it would bring out my emotions as intensely as it has. It's definitely got to me so much more the second time round.

Valentina is amazing, the strength she has and just who she is, made me love her so much. The guys are all so completely different to each other and yet so special. I love the connection they all have together and individually with Valentina, their love and the I say of showing it (present & past) will leave you swooning and melt your heart.
Definitely recommend! Love this duet so much!

Keep Reading to the End

I love books in a series or duet that are complete because you can get closure now!

Breathe Me:
There are pieces of their story that are so endearing, but I’m greatly torn over the secret that Valentina is keeping. Her secret it huge with devastating consequences. I understand why she wants to keep the secret, but I feel like she’s being completely selfish and only looking at what she wants and not the devastation that she’s going to cause. I will read book two to get the finale, but it’s with hesitation and a bitter taste. She was forced to make a heartbreaking decision years ago, and the fall out is still fresh.

Breathe You:
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book as I was frustrated with book one, and there were still a few times I was frustrated when reading this one. However, I stuck it out, and I’m glad I did. At times it made it hard flipping back and forth between then and now, but the back history was key to their story. The heartbreak and heartache was almost paralyzing. The epilogue was soul healing. Glad I stuck it out to the end.

Definition of soulmate.

I gave it 5 stars because the story was just that good. But....I will say that I didn't care much for Quaid through out the whole book. I really loved Carter maybe because I understood his darkness and why hebwas the way he was. I also loved Logan such a gentle on. I loved her dad. He knew from the 1st look they were here soulmates. Broke my ever heart that he passed away. I mostly loved Valentina but I sometimes didn't care for her. She was selfish and kept lying all the time about lots of stuff and then trying to justify. She could never see that she broke their hearts. But I guess they did too by saying she had to choose. But it shouldn't of taken 10 years to get back to them. I understood why she didnt want to tell them but thought it was deceitful as well. A few other things but honestly the book was really really wonderful. Happy heartbreak and happy again. The road of the journey was sincerely felt. And I'm so so happy that they had a HEA. Because for a second I though the worse. Tricky tricky author. But thank you for such a great story.

A story worth breaking over...

This was a heartbreakingly beautiful story! And each character takes a piece of your soul...

So much heartbreak in one story caused my soul to ache. Each of their journeys was a tough one. Valentina's dad was their foundation. Logan was the glue. Carter was the eyes. Quaid was the heart. Valentina was the soul. Each a vital part of them all.

As hard as it was to read this story, all the emotions were felt on every level and appreciated. The agonizing moments made feeling their pain that much more important. The story may not be perfect, and it dragged at times for me, but oh how I would recommend this duet in a heartbeat! Worth the heartache....

Great Duet

I own both of these books in paperback so when I found out C.R & Ivy were combining them into one book with an extended epilogue, I knew I had to get this set.

Carter, Quaid and Logan were best friends and when Valentina moved into their street she was their everything. The boys fell in love with Valentina and she loved them, however they thought their feelings for each other were wrong.

They've been separated for ten years having each gone their separate ways, So when they all reunite can they get back to the way they used to be or will they be torn apart again.

It was an emotional read and I loved the extended epilogue.

Emotional Damage.

That's what this book gave me. I knew it was going to happen. And I still kept reading. It was that good!

Carter, Logan and Quaid are best friends, live on the same street. Valentina moves next door and slides right into the group. They all become friends, grow together, and fall in love. But, they don't stay that way. We don't know why quite yet. We meet Valentina 10 years later, all alone. Through horrible circumstances, she decides to write the boys each a letter to meet her in Paris for a chance to reconnect.

Probably one of the best duets I've read. Definitely worth the tears. Go binge it!!

The way I DEVOURED this/these books 🫠

I felt EVERY SINGLE emotion.

Anger, love, fear, happiness, sadness, and loss.

I literally laughed, cried, yelled, and sobbed at different, multiple times.

Literally the ending leaves you thinking one thing and the epilogue stitches you back together ❤️

I dont know why CRJane and Ivy Fox love to destroy me and put me back together like this but they're annoyingly good at it.

Definitely recommend.

When I read this book I went in totally blind....which can I tell you was a mistake because I had to run to get a box of tissues.....I was not prepared for the rollercoaster ride this book took me through.

This book will always hold a special place in my heart.

It's perfection and so well written that you genuinely feel as if you are living the life of the characters, you feel their love, you feel their pain.

Please please please have your tissues ready when you read this amazing 5 star book!

absolutely amazing!!

Well this book was something else. It’s been a long time since I read book who made me cry so much, feel so many emotions, I absolutely couldn’t put it down and finished it in two days, one of the best books I read!!
What a love story!! This book have everything, while journey, heart brake, strong love who didn’t die even in 10 years apart , something everyone dreams of , the only thing I’am sad of is that Valentines father didn’t get to see her happy ending, unfortunately I see this was necessary for whole plot.
Amazing book!! Well done!

Heartbreaking and warming all at once

This book broke me.

Sitting in the hotel lobby reading it on holidays and my heart was shattering, while also being put back together simultaneously.

This duet was beautiful. The story, the characters, the love, every single word was just beautiful and I already wish I could go back to the start and do it all again for the first time.

One of my favourite reads of the year 💔❤️

C R Jane and Ivy Fox write a story that we expected to not have a happy ending from the first chapter. Over the 2 books, they attacked the readers with every emotional trauma they could include. It was a reverse harem where the guys were the ones who needed convincing. I generally read urban fantasy reverse harems where the guys have more or less accepted their bond with the girl so the push and pull of these books was fresh if heartbreaking. I really need a lighter read after this.

Wow the angst and heartbreak they go through to find their happy ever after. So many times I wanted to scream at one of the characters to stop being stupid and really look at things. I am so glad they got their acts together and were able to overcome all the obstacles. But now I am left wanting more! The epilogue and extended scene were great and helped but I crave more!!
