World of Warcraft #2
World of Warcraft, Második könyv

This is the continuation of the adventures of Lo'Gosh and his two new friends after his memory has returned and he realizes that he's the king of Stormwind, only to discover that there's an "imposter" in Stormwind claiming to be king. This comic reveals the truth of what happened that fateful night and reveals Lady Prestor's true identity. I really enjoyed, the comics and manga they do for Warcraft are just amazing and add so much to the game.

Kvalitný príbeh pokračuje. Pri znalostí reálií by som dal asi o dve hviezdy viac :D Královia sa stretávajú a vyrážajú na raid bossa.

I enjoyed reading the conclusion to the story set up in volume 1, with some epic moments and things that I remember from playing the related questline back in the day. Anduin shines in this story and shows the beginnings of what makes him a wise prince/king when he's older. Valeera's magic addiction issues got a little repetitive to me, but overall, I liked this installment. I have to say, though, . I'm not sure where the story is going to go from here, since it's clear that the Lo'Gosh storyline, which is what I read this for, is over, but I'll continue on and see how I feel.

Really good art. Great story. Volume 1 ended with the reveal of Lo'Gosh being King Varian of Stormwind. It was a fascinating reveal and then the mystery deepens in this one when we find out another Varian has returned recently to Stormwind with a very similar story on being kidnapped and escaping to Lo'Gosh minus the whole gladiator thing. That was a bit of a surprise. I figured it would just be Varian returning and then picking up where he left off. I was pleasantly surprised with a second Varian appearing. The volume ends with a pretty epic battle that unites the two in the end, and it was pretty satisfying.

If you're a WoW fan you will sure enjoy this read! Specially if you're a big fan of Varian Wryn and his backstory. It's full of references to the universe and other well-known characters of the games.
If not, you will also enjoy it (but maybe not at the same level) because the plot is very self explainable.
One bad thing to say about it is that sometimes characters overexplain the situation. I can already see you're struggling to fight your enemy, I don't need you to describe it to me. But it's fine, there's not a lot of this thing

This explains Onyxia! In "Night of the Dragon", it mentions her events (avoiding spoilers), but it doesn't elaborate on it and I let it go. This takes place before that book, maybe even before "Cycle of Hatred". So happy!
This was an awesome story. Will say the action isn't in depth but then again there's a lot of story to move along and if you want the action you can play through the quest line in the actual game. This also explains a lot about his nickname and the references in "Shattering". These comics clear up so much, defiantly want to read to fill in gaps.

World of Warcraft Volumes 1-2 tell an entertaining enough story, although at times it definitely reads like a sales pitch for the game in case the reader hasn't played it yet. For the most part, though, I had a fun time reading through this collection and recalling early memories playing WoW for the first time during the Burning Crusade era. Recommended for fans of WoW lore and those who enjoy good campy fantasy.

This one was a wee bit quicker and scrambled than the first volume. And sometimes random. Like, Valeera got corrupted, next minute she was okay. Also I'm pretty sure that the group used fast travel a couple times which isn't a thing in WoW so it's pretty unimmersive. Also I don't know how I feel about being two Varians, like, wouldn't it have been easier to make an illusion or something?
Anyways, I still like it but this volume wasn't that put together.

Good conclusion to the Onyxia Conspiracy with showing some cool moments for the characters granted the Anvilmar thing felt a little unneeded but it was still pretty good. Also it shows why I liked Anduin and loved him trying to solve the mystery himself and how he fought against Onyxia showing how clever of a character he is.

If you are into World of Warcraft and want some light reading - this book hits the spot. You get to follow the adventures of Varian Wrynn and his mates, Broll and Valeera, and we're introduced to a young Andiun Wrynn, future king of Stormwind and leader of the Alliance. Nothing super special here, but a good light read if you want a WoW fix outside the game.

Story more contrived than book 1, line quality suddenly highly inconsistent, and dialogue and panel composition regularly feel disjointed in any kind of action scene. Portrayal of Valeera in particular felt illogical and her resolution felt superfluous to the plot. Enjoyable enough as a WoW fan, but not a great book on its own merit compared to the first imo.

I'm not a fan of comics but I loved reading this one, simply because it's about Warcraft. The art is beautiful, the story is engaging and concludes well.
I don't wish to say more simply because I spoiled myself part of the story by reading about the comic.

Good read for Wow fans
A good story grounded in the original “vanilla” vision of Warcraft using storytelling visuals and iconography firmly based in the existing library of the game. Fab stuff.

A história é bem bacana, toda a influência da onyxia em stormwind, o que deu as 3 estrelas. Mas igual o outro fascículo tudo é resolvido na base do tiro, porrada e bomba. O que se torna enfadonho de ler.

I really liked Vol 1 and am happy to say that Vol 2 is a step up in every way. It has a cozy Saturday Morning Cartoon vibe to it that brings me back to childhood days. Fun story and great lineart and coloring. Highly recommend reading it

As with my other warcraft comic review this keeps answering questions that we had for a long time and a worthwhile read.

Still one of the better WoW graphic novel series, but the first one just felt a little more innovative. The whole twin kings thing just seemed a bit like a soap opera tale

While the storylines in this are predictable to the point of absurdity in some cases, things were engaging enough to keep me interested through the book and enjoying some of the action scenes. The time scale in this is weird - it feels like some sections get more pages than they need, while others are skimping, giving it a jerky stop-start feeling. Not a fan of that.
I actually got quite a kick out of Anduin, though it seems like everything he's ever written into he's the smartest and most level-headed person in the room. Its not terribly surprising when he's put next to someone like his dad, but it starts to reach into the Marty Stu territory when we get an ensemble cast.
The art is still crisp, cartoony and utterly ridiculous when a woman is trying to do anything remotely aerobic. The colorish is earning his or her money - the vibrancy of the colors is really what makes this art stand out for me as anything more than a Ramos wanna-be.

I got this from the library to read to my kids and I'm glad I didn't. I started reading it at work and became paranoid that one of my coworkers would see some of the ridiculously oversexualized female characters, or the blood splashing on every other page. After a few minutes of trying to hid the book, I realized if I was so worried about them judging me I probably shouldn't be reading it in the first place. So I stopped and felt strangely liberated.
Abundant cleavage aside, I loved the art. The story was okay, but those action sequences were still as confusing as ever. You just have to kind of read quickly and not try to understand who just got impaled by who.

Collects issues 8-14 of the titled run. Walter Simonson is still on writing duties with art now carried out by Jon Buran and Mike Bowden replacing Ludo Lullabi who is still on board for some of the cover work. Not as good as the first collection with the now somewhat overpowered trio fighting together nearly throughout, bolstered by a variety of powerful allies and even an extra Varian. Nobody in their right minds would voluntarily take on this bunch. The plot-line includes the mystery of two varian's, Valeera battling her addiction to dark magic and the dark plans of shape-shifting dragons.

This is the 2nd collection of World of Warcraft comics. The story with our three main characters adds a fourth as the series culminates in a final showdown with ---- nah, that would spoil it :) -----. This was a great series if you like World of Warcraft lore. I don't play as much as I used to, but love the world that was created for that game. The only thing I would have preferred was to have the entire story in one hardback collection vs. split into two.

Incredibly well written second part of this series including great character arcs and showing them as every day humans in a GoT style way of there not being pure good and bad guys. Instead characters with mixed backgrounds and reasons for their behavior.

for the last few chapters all i could think was "MOAR DOTS! STOP DOTS!"

The artwork is good, but the action scenes don't flow together well. Here the heroes battle Onyxia, which feels like an old storyline by now.
