One Tiny On Dit Later

When a scandalous rumor sweeps society, what’s a girl to do except behave even more improperly to match her tattered reputation?

Edward Marlowe, 5th Duke of Lockwood, has struggled to put his time in the war behind him. Tired of hiding within the halls of the Rogue’s Arcade club, when he attends a society event with the intention of perhaps charming a lady into his bed, he’s caught off guard as a petite beauty in a hurry, plows into him, tumbling them both to the floor, seconds before she begs for his help.

When Miss Juliet Gillingham finds a diamond brooch the size of a pigeon’s egg in a hollowed-out book at her father’s book shop, she’s curious. Though her mind spins a few tales about its origin, three days later, she’s branded as a brazen jewel thief in the papers. She didn’t commit the crime, and she certainly won’t pay the penalty, especially if she can enlist the assistance of a handsome war hero who happens to be a duke… and a former thief himself.

They attempt to discover the rightful owner of the bauble while dodging the mysterious party who wants it—and them dead. With desire simmering between them, they’re forced to keep to the shadows throughout London in order to evade detection and danger. Only by taunting the original thief by bringing the diamond into the open will they have a chance at removing themselves from scandal, but by then, even love might not be able to save them.

The third book in this riveting series about the members of the Rogues Arcade Club. A delicious mix of romance & mystery that had me glued to my kindle & I read this engrossing read straight through. Strong characters & a fast paced plot made for a book I didn’t want to put down. I loved both Edward & Juliet & loved how their relationship grew & changed. The climax of the story had me on the dege of my seat & the lovely epilogue left me with a smile on my face.

Though this is the third book in the series, you don't have to read them in order.

Once again Sandra has knocked it out of the park! Edward and Juliet quickly became another couple that I could read about over and over again and never get tired of. I love how resilient Jules is despite her past, and how she was able to mentor Edward about how to deal with his regrets and anger about his past. I loved how Edward, even though he had no idea who this young lady was, immediately started to help her so that her name could be cleared from such a vicious scandal.

And what a scandal it was indeed! Sandra always has some of the most despicable villains, and though I should have guessed it, I didn't see the end coming at all. I should have guessed, but I didn't. However, I enjoyed seeing him get his comeuppance and things being set to rights.

After all, Sandra is the queen of happily ever after in my book.

Note: Even though this is a steamy historical romance, I was able to skip over those scenes without losing the plot of the book. There's also some adult language.

Can they find out who wants to destroy her?
I have been reading some lovely but very sweet romances this holiday season and I must say I was ready to read a book with some meat to it and oh what a delicious treat this one was. A mystery with suspense and drama taking place with an ex spy and jewel thief and a bookshop owner’s daughter was just what the doctor ordered. I was fully engaged in this book right from the start it is so well written and I adored the characters. Every step they took I was right there with them. Excellent work by this author and a book so well worth reading I hope you give it a chance. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

Thanks to BookSprout for the copy of this book and this is my freely given opinion.

This is the story of Edward Marlowe, the Duke of Lockwood, and member of the Rogue's Arcade. He helped previous members with their problems in the previous two books. He is an ex-spy, and has been having trouble finding his place after his time serving his country, between balancing his duties to the dukedom and his family, and finding some degree of satisfaction in life. Or at least not suffering ennui. While on his way to an event at the Earl of St. Vincent's, his future literally runs into his arms.

Juliet Gillingham is a spinster just on the outside of the Ton's sphere, working in her father's bookshop. She is a bookish beauty who has unfortunately been severely disappointed by men in her past. Her father is a grandson of a Viscount and had hoped for a secure married future for his daughter, but she is determined that she would follow his footsteps in managing the shop in the future. While working one evening, she discovers that one of the books is hiding a secret compartment housing a fabulous bejeweled broach and is frightened into seeking out help with her friend, the sister of Earl St. Vincent, knowing his past with jewels.

Juliet is framed as a thief in public and Edward determines that she is innocent and engages in proving her innocence while protecting her. This all becomes quite the damsel in distress and knight in shining armor intervening to rescue her, mixed in with some residual guilt in his past in failing to save another damsel in distress he loved. Which is OK if you are looking for that kind of thing. I was hoping for more boldness from the heroine, especially considering her desire to be independent and disappointment in men (to now depending on one to save and secure her) and how the previous books were.

This book is amazing. It has so much intrigue and story that you get so involved, you can’t put the book down. Juliette and Edward meet in the street. He was on his way to a party, she worked in her Fathers bookshop and her Father had told her just before he went upstairs that a certain Lord was coming the next day to pick up the book he had ordered for him. Seeing what the book as about as she opened the front cover she found that a hole had been dug into the front pages and in the hole was a beautiful diamond brooch. She later found out that this brooch had once belonged to a French leader’s wife, but it hadn’t been seen for many years.
She had run out of the shop and run straight into Edward and knocked him to the floor with her on top of him. She was all of a puzzle in her head, blaming her Father for stealing and hiding the brooch. She didn’t know what to think. She knew nothing about the man she had knocked down and didn’t know that he and his friends had participated in stealing jewellery many years before. She went on and told the stranger about the brooch and actually showed it to him. Of course he recognised it and knew where it originally came from. So the man on the floor, told Juliette the story of the brooch and then he took her home. He then decided that he would be her protector and told her no harm would come to her. Well the book went on and got better and better.
Mrs Sookoo thank you for writing this intriguing book, I enjoyed every word of it.

Romance, mystery, suspense, and rumors- it's all in here.
Accused of being a jewel thief, Juliet runs into Edward, a former spy and thief himself. Now together they must work to solve the mystery of who the jewel belongs to and who wants them dead.

This was a solid story and the storyline which is very unique takes center stage with everything else blending into it. I love stories like this because they make the reading worth it and take you on such an adventure. Juliet and Edward's tale was a story I just couldn't put down. The characters have depth, the story flows, the mystery keeps you guessing until the end, and there are a bunch of great secondary characters.
What is also nice, and I love that Ms. Sookoo wrote it like this, is that Edward has very relatable flaws and is working through them. Their happily ever after is more suggested than told to the reader and you can relate because not every road in life is going to be easy and sunny and even as Edward says in the epilogue, he is trying and will continue to do so.
Plenty of steam but not gratuitous, it adds to the story and their relationship.
Is part of a series but you need not have read the previous books to enjoy.
A great read, and highly recommended.

Book 3 of the Singular Sensation series is a great addition. This group of rascals in the Rogue’s Arcade Club came together as they returned from war, alive but not unscathed. They also were Robin Hood-type jewel thieves. Edward (Duke of Lockwood) is mired in PTSD and guilt, but gets involved with Juliet (daughter of a bookstore owner with ties to the ton). It’s fate that brought them together and is just what they both needed. They are strangers who work together to prove Juliet is innocent of theft.

I love that Juliet and Edward have a poignant love story even though it’s a hard road ahead. Of course the man can’t see he’s in love until something almost fatal happens! The author has put the right combination in the book of plot and steamy love scenes once again. Loved it.

I received a free copy of the book in advance and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Diamonds, Books, Romance
Oh, my goodness what a captivating mystery romance story this little gem is along with terrific characters that will melt your heart.
Edward and Juliet made this a fun passionate story to read. A bit of humor, lots of emotional heartfelt dialogue, coach rides and kisses that took my breath away,
Terrifying and torturous conclusion, but a wonderful epilogue that gave us a very happy ending.
I look forward to reading more from this very talented author.

Captivating and exciting!

Splendidly written, Juliet and Edward’s tale immediately comes to life. These two broken characters are superbly described and they both blossom as they get to know one another. The villain is thinly disguised and quite mad and this is well defined within the story. The Rogue’s Arcade is an interesting club and the founders of it lead a merry life as they all capture the hearts of their women. There is tension and action that keep the reader engaged through this incredible read. Another spectacular addition to the Singular Sensation series!

FANTASTIC!!! One Tiny On Dit Later by Sandra Sookoo is book 3 in the Singular Sensation series and though in a series this book can be read as a standalone. What I loved about this book was both the romance and the mystery of this story and how Edward and Juliet met. They literally ran into one another. This book is so well written that at times I wondered how Sandra came up with this story and how her imagination works. It is very detailed and so incredible that I can not put Into words and could not put it down. You will just have to read it for yourself. Sandra is truly one of the best authors of today. I found this book easy to read, original, very well written, wonderful characters, had the real feel of the regency era and so fun to read but I will admit that it made me a tad sad that a innocent was accused of theft. It’s always the innocent one. This story has a book seller’s daughter that is accused of stealing a diamond brooch, a duke that has depression from the war he was fighting in, a gentleman’s club that are all titled but were thieves themselves, wanting to protect, being on the run from a constable, a father’s imprisonment, wanting to turn herself in, getting help from his friends, a crazy man that is obsess with a women and would do anything to claim her and falling in love. I am very highly recommending you read this book. I really think you will enjoy it as much as I did.

So good! A former spy, haunted by the horrors he faced and received during the war, and a bookseller’s daughter, whose bloodlines remotely traced back to a viscount, end up in cat and mouse game that could proved deadly. As Juliet discovers a diamond broach in a hollowed out book at her father’s store, she hears someone trying to get in the locked front door. Taking the jewels with her, she runs out the back and heads to the home of a customer acquaintance whose brother is reputed to be a reformed jewel thief. Enroute, she bumps into Edward, the Duke of Lockwood, sending them both sprawling. He agrees to keep her safe and help her find out what is going on. What ensues is a story filled with deception, evasion, emotion and heartbreaking revelations. You will find manipulation; bribery; an overbearing mother; false accusations and arrests; and steamy encounters. It is a creative story full of twists, surprises and madness.

This new series by Sandra Sookoo is really very, very intriguing. I love an adventurous plot and the idea of a group of jewelry thieves among the English nobility is captivating. Sookoo is a great writer and I love her steamy scenes, but especially the way she’s able to create believable characters who have suffered and start a path toward healing and redemption thanks to love. Mind you, they don’t magically heal, but they find the right motivation to change and start a new life. And Juliet and Edward are exactly this kind of characters. A great book!

I buy a lot of novels through BookBub at $.99 or free. My expectations are not high, but I do occasionally find gems. This is not one of them. The writing is awkward and tedious and I couldn't get into the story. I think I read enough to rate though (so I won’t accidentally buy this author again). DNF at 34%
