You wouldn’t think a book about one of the most common Swedish/ European birds, the sparrow sized Great Tit or titmouse, talgoxe - would be so interesting. But it was! Also a reminder of lessons in genetics, evolutionary theory, biology, scientific methodology and more. The book was a present from Tim, a radio journalist and close friend who visits us regularly from London. This winter we sat and watched the titmouses (titmice) and bullfinches gathered around our bird feeder. I doubt it’s been translated - but I promise - tiu don’t have to be an ornithologist to enjoy it.
