Playing with fire is the best way to get burned alive.
I nearly lost everything in the battle to win Cole. My family is in shambles. My reputation is tattered. And there is more to the story than I could ever have imagined.
As my life goes on, I quickly learn that there are forces moving against me. I try to pick up the pieces, but I don’t even know what I’m up against. One thing becomes crystal clear to me. No one ever said that being queen would be easy.
Book 2 continues from point at which Book 1 ended, which is why each book must be read in its proper order. In this installment, Lily is searching for answers about her family, particularly about her father. She is learning to also lean on Cole for some help when she needs it, their relationship still tenuous. Willow continues to be a bother. Secrets and lies keep everything in confusion. This book will also lead another, but final, cliffhanger.
This is the second book in this series. So if you haven’t read the first you need to or you won’t get what’s going on.
This is a high school bully romance. It’s full of mystery and can be a bit confusing at times. Lily and Cole have seemed to get over their previous hatred. Even though Lily doesn’t have any hate for Cole but she tries to tell herself that. They have turned a corner. And are sticking together possible find out what everyone is hiding. We got a few questions answered but are left with more after finishing this second book. I hope we get all the answers in the third book. Because I right now there is much we don’t know.

Good investigation and teenage romance It's a good 2nd part of Cole and Lily's story: their relationship progresses (less aggressive all the same than the previous part), but still tense with Cole's ex, all against the backdrop of Lily's family which she assumes criminal and prowling FBI. I liked the development of the character of Lily who asks herself more and more questions, suffers less from events and investigates with the support of Cole when she falters. This part becomes more and more mysterious for her, and ends again on a big cliffhanger. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Typically I am not big on HS romances but this was pretty good- short, suspenseful and action packed it does pick up from a cliffhanger but end on one as well. I am simping for Cole and Lily and so hope they get through HEA in the next and final book of the trilogy! Book 2 did feel like a bit of a filler but was a quick read with enough spice and action to keep the reader engaged. Now on to book 3 to wrap this up!.

Picks up from events of book 2. Lily tries to find out more about her dad’s mysterious past but is not very successful. Her relationship with Cole continues to blow hot and cold. Willow remains a thorn on her side. There are some side characters introduced who form part of a bigger plot which remains to be revealed. Ends on a cliffhanger.

Great addition to this series. Book 2 picks right up where book 1 ended. Lily is still trying to discover the mystery surrounding here family past well mainly her father's past. With no success!! I'm still trying to figure out her and Cole relationships. Poor Willow can't seem to catch a clue and move on from Cole in some way I kinda feel bad for her. Still this series has a lot of moving parts especially after that major cliffhanger. Looking forward to seeing what else is in store. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.

Lily is now looking for the truth with her family and with Cole. There are so many secrets that its hard to keep up with them. The drama her father has brought into their lives can be deadly. Cole and Lily must remain a team in order to survive the high school drama and the drama of their families.
I just finished the second book in this series and I must say that the story is really starting to unravel. It IA a must read. Can't wait for the next.
