Hello, and welcome to my page!

I (Marii Solaria) am an African American woman born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, in the wonderful neighborhood of Uptown, to Malian immigrants. I am the second child out of four and the only female out of my siblings. Beginning my writing career at age 12, I wrote fanfiction of my favorite television shows and movies and created original stories alongside my three brothers. Eventually, I became drawn to the fantasy genre and magical systems through television, which became my favorite genre to write about. Throughout high school and university, I went on to author poems and short stories, for which I won awards. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology degree and a Master of Science in Nursing, and currently pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) for Mental Health/Psychiatry, I consider writing an escape from reality and where I shine to be my true and authentic self. I love writing so much! If I'm not writing, I spend my time working as a Registered Nurse (RN), collecting crystals, and eating both Italian and African dishes.

Spoilers!

I have finally finished this horrible book. It was painful icl.

It’s only worth 2 stars cos Odessa dies. I hated that bitch.

On with the review

Kiya keeps saying stupid shit like this: “It’s a good thing I have good reflexes or else Adonis and I would mimic a chopped down tree!” No, no you wouldn’t.
“That begs the question of who’s truly in control. Him or me?” Obviously not you, you’d realise that if your head wasn’t so far up your ass.

She’s so arrogant and keeps trying to disguise it in a fucked up act of selflessness. She never learns. She decides to lead Cerberus deeper into the woods cos she doesn’t want to harm her family KNOWING he captured her easily last time. And then she goes to face Osiris again pretending to still be under his mind control and she thinks he’ll buy it?? Bitch u had red eyes under his control, did she at least put contacts in? Nope she went to him with her normal brown eyes. How can you be so fucking dumb?

Plus she decides to bring Neron back to life after he dies instead of letting him go to his mum and sister whilst knowing he has no one and she might die in the process. Wtaf is wrong with this selfish fucking bitch? Why didn’t Neron get the choice of whether to return or not like she did? Why tf did Selene think it was okay to ask Kiya if she wants him back? For a girl who values choice where tf was Neron’s choice? And yes I know he chooses to grab onto that silver hand but it should’ve been his decision alone. Not influenced by anyone else

And after bringing him back she doesn’t even want to be in a relationship with him! I’m getting sick of this constant back and forth. She needs to reject him and find someone else smh.

Does anyone else get the ick from this mate bond? Like it’s forcing her to fall in love with someone she really really shouldn’t? Case in point: Odessa and Darien. What? Why?? I’m soo glad Odessa dies. Neron and Kiya? Really? He abused her and the shitty bond is clouding her judgement. I know he tried to redeem himself but if I was in her shoes I wouldn’t take shit.

I‘m glad Tristan dies but why does no one hold Neron’s dad accountable? Or even Neron himself? Beating the shit out of a child is never okay. And why wasn’t Odessa put to death straight away? Neron can use his Alpha voice to make her admit she’s the traitor and bam, problem solved.

Osiris is my fave character. He’s the only one who actually makes sense and wants the downfall of Jonathan’s whole bloodline and I’m all for it. Even Neron. They can all fucking die.

There’s huge holes in the plot, the book needs serious editing. Every time there’s a problem some random person appears out of nowhere to help them achieve victory and disappears again. It’s painful. We don’t really see Kiya coming into her powers, they seem to appear temporarily, I mean come on , she should be able to do something with her powers besides see ✨sparks✨

And I need questions answering! Like how tf is Nuria an owl? How did she come back? How did Neron’s mum come back? Did they have this power all along? Why did they decide to come back after Kiya’s abuse? Why does Jonathan hate Kiya so much? Why tf did Asim appear out of the blue and then disappear soon after? Was he there to just play hero? And he didn’t even do that! Why was he there? What did he add to the plot? NoThInG!
There’s endless paragraphs about bullshit I find myself skimming.

Will not be finishing the trilogy. It’s just awful

Masterfully written. Amazing story of trauma and redemption. Loved this series. Truly wish this was on the Zon so I could add it to my physical bookshelf.
