Soulless Assassins MC #2

Tyrant's Redemption

Rate this book
The only way to stop the evil from my past is to put my life in the hands of the monster in my bed.

From Book One

Tyrant, president of the Soulless Assassins MC, is hot as hell and he scares me to death.

He holds me prisoner for my brother’s crimes against his club.

I am just his pawn in a sick and twisted game.

He will use and humiliate me as he sees fit until he has my brother’s head.

I should be repulsed by what he does to me, so why do I crave his touch?

When an evil man from my past stalks me from the shadows, Tyrant is my only hope of stopping him before he takes my life.

But my captor is a monster and an outlaw , everything a woman like me should hate.

Will he snatch me from the jaws of death, or will he destroy me first?

***This is a Dark Jealous Possessive MC Romance with no cheating, however, this book contains other situations readers may find offensive. Tyrant’s Redemption has an HEA for Ember and Tyrant, but there is a continuous series thread that ties up in later books.

I wasn’t a fan of the first book, but I still tried this one anyway because I heard there would be groveling in it. Plus, I was willing to give the author the benefit of the doubt because I LOVED her Saving Setora series.

But, this was a let-down. Was there groveling? Yes, Tyrant did do several things: he gave Ember space, he left her gifts. But, he only did this AFTER continuing to do even more awful shit to her for nearly the first half of this book. So, considering the volume of terrible shit he’d put her through (imprisoning her, beating her, non coning her, stripping her in front of people, treating her like a servant), giving her a few gifts feels like a laughably tiny gesture. I appreciated that his groveling felt appropriate for a rough biker, it wouldn’t feel right for him to do anything too soft…but I still feel like he didn’t do enough to make up for everything that he’d done to her.

As far as Ember, I appreciated that she pushed him away for a while, but she STILL felt like a doormat. Not just to him, but also to the rest of the club. Gigi is the only person who has treated her with respect, and yet Ember is so hungry for the club’s approval, bending over backwards to fit in and be nice to them. This doesn’t make Ember likeable to me, it just makes her seem weak.

This world is interesting enough that I’d be willing to try the next book, if it’s about someone else. But otherwise, I hope this author returns to the world of Saving Setora – wasn’t Setora’s friend supposed to get her own story? What happened with that? – and I won’t hold my breath for her other work.

Holy!!!
I thought of giving this a 4 when I had reached about 50 percent of this book but after completing I decided this deserved all 5 stars. The H was a total asshole to the h but I loved the possessive/ caveman way he loved her. No cheating at all (I liked that). Can't wait for the next book!!!

wouldn’t recommend

Long drawn out story with not a lot happening that made sense. A lot of things left unanswered that I’m guessing will be in future books but nothing in these two books would make me want to read them tbh.

Oh my, this one was a long read!
Over 700 pages on my iBooks.
Anyway, the story continues from Book 1. I enjoyed their story but I can’t wait for Trigger’s story!

Tyrant’s Redemption: Soulless Assassins MC

Tyrant and Ember’s story is magnificent. He may be a tyrant, a chauvinist but he’s met his match, he just doesn’t know how to interact with her any other way, but he’ll give her the world once he knows how ❤️ 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

DNF’d @ 86%, which is like exactly where the climax of the book REALLY takes off. I just realized that I do not care enough to finish lol

I was almooooost gonna go with three stars, but quitting before the last 100 pages really sealed the deal for me.

The first about 35% of this book pissed me off more than nearly any other book ever has. To be clear - Tyrant is (at the start) a disgusting rapist and abuser. He randomly figures out that raping and beating the girl you want to marry isn’t a good idea, but he shows no actual character growth.

When Tyrant “””punishes””” Ember, she actually managed to hold onto her anger for a while, which I was pretty surprised by. However instead of him doing quite literally anything to earn her trust, she just gets horny for him (again - her rapist) and is like “well I wanna work this out between us” even though 20 pages ago she was saying she wanted him dead and he has done NOTHING to change that opinion

It really got to me

If you ignore the first 35%, Tyrant is actually a really enjoyable love interest! Sort of like ignoring everything Tyler Lockwood does in S1E1 of The Vampire Diaries. Gotta turn a blind eye to the fact that this dude is a rapist because he is - annoyingly - actually sorta funny. Ugh

I don’t want to judge the plot on this too much because about 60% of the way through I realized this is the second half of a duet lol so I missed like ALL of the setup and character introductions

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

I loved Tyrant’s Revenge which was the first book in this series so when I knew I got to read Tyrant’s Redemption it would have to be really good to go hand in hand with the first book. Let’s just say that it didn’t let me down in the slightest. Again, if you can’t handle the darkness don’t even try for this book because that’s exactly what is thrown at you. For those of us who love our MC books with tons of darkness, steam, drama and with twists and turns you are going to love this book.

I am so very glad that I found this author and I can’t wait for more to come from her.

This is the second book in this MC series and I would recommend reading them in order. Tyrant and Ember’s story continues. This is a fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and twists and turns. A lot is going on with the MC as well as the relationship between Tyrant and Ember, will their relationship survive it all? Great characters with a lot of depth and an entertaining story. I liked it.

Bored

This one one of those you have to read to know the ending you've read book one and the ending is book two which was a whole different vibe to book one. I was bored but forced myself to read it

I had to think long and hard about this review. To be honest, I almost didn’t finish the book. The hero does something awful to the heroine a few chapters in, and I honestly wasn’t sure I could get past it. At that point, I was thinking 3 stars- maybe- for this review.
The book, however, is called Tyrant’s Redemption for a reason. The story was about the hero’s redemption. He really works on himself and his relationship with the heroine. His feelings for her affect some decisions he makes as MC president. Tyrant’s redemption arc changed the book for me. I got past his horrible actions (the heroine does too) and felt he really came back from it. The book became a five star for me, except for the extreme levels of misogyny contained within, mainly in the first part of the book. So four stars.
This book is a dark MC romance. There are explicit steamy scenes and extreme violence, not for the faint of heart. It is the second book in a two- book story arc, which is part of a series. Am I glad I read this book? Very. Will I read the next book in the series? Definitely. Do I recommend it to fans of dark MC romance? Yes.

I decided to review this series after I finished the second book, even though it’s not completed yet.
I mean I really tried to like these books but there were some parts that made that impossible😔. First I’d like to talk about the overall plot of the books. The first book starts off with the main character Ember going to visit her brother in prison[she also hasn’t seen him in 5 years] and while she’s there she bumps into a biker guy who says some really gross things to her[ I mean he’s like “while you’re down there why don’t you suck me off “😒🤢] seriously you just met her a second ago and you’re already acting like a creep. Anyways we later learn that he is the love interest [Tyrant]. And I’m just wondering why this whole interaction was never mentioned later on in the first book🤔. Because he meets her again in the first book and neither of them say anything. So he meets her by ordering one of his biker guys to kidnap her. And in the first couple of chapters he treats her terribly. I mean he literally beats her feet with a branch😒, and not just that but in first couple minutes of meeting her he gets her naked in front of everyone in the club and humiliates her. I’m sorry but that is not okay.
And to top it all off he takes her virginity in the worst possible way. This guy is truly just an a**hole. And to make matters worse he gets her pregnant 😩. And she already hates his guts.

Okay now I’m going to talk a bit about the characters, because they were messy.
Ember[heroine]😜- Honestly I really tried to like miss Ember but she made it hard on me. So we know that Ember is a writer and she has a couple of books out. And she writes these books with the help of another writer Jessie[ I really wish that their friendship wasn’t so sidetracked, because Jessie seemed like a cool person]. Ember is described as this shy person that never leaves her apartment, and hates her body. Yet when she starts opening herself up more in the mc club she acts like a completely different person. I mean she starts wearing crop tops, she is beating women up in the club, she basically goes crazy😛. And in the first book she catches Tyrant cheating on her, or so she thinks it’s him, but it turns out it was just another guy from the club that’s name also starts with a t ( that was really stupid). And she hates Tyrant for this basically half of the book, until she finally decides to mention it. Like girl come on, the storyline was getting too repetitiveeeeee🙄🥱. I want to circle back on the fact that Ember is a writer because while she is staying in the mc club, she doesn’t really talk about it, or I guess her writing isn’t really made a big deal off until the ending of the second book. And she never mentions how Tyrant took her virginity I mean it just wasn’t a big deal for her[ but this man literally stole her virginity in a cell, and had sex with her in a public bathroom on the side of the road🤮😵]. So my final words for Ember are: Girl are you a shy nerd, or is that just a Virgin Mary act, and you’re actually an annoying pick me?. Also the amount of people that hated her in the club, just crazy😵.

Tyrant[hero]- This guy is just a piece of work. I guess in the second book the author tried to make him seem like less of an a**hole, than he was in the first book, and I respect that because he was really out of control [for anyone wondering there is “grovelling” in the second book, but it wasn’t giving what needed to be gave🥱] . The truth about him is that he really is just an idiot and he can’t “handle” Ember because she’s smarter than him. And he knows that. I don’t really have much to say about him except for the fact he was also a very confusing character to me. The one thing that I did like about him was that his hobby was painting, I thought that was cute. My final words for Tyrant would be: Stop calling women b*tches![ and that goes for the idiots in his mc club].

So overall would I recommend this book? No.
Also I hope people read my whole review, I know it’s a bit long but, I have a lot of thoughts.

Holy Wow! This series is a little Dark and Twisted but so Addictive!
After Book 1 'Tyrant's Revenge' I was left so desperate for more and the wait killed me a little but it was sooooo worth it because 'Tyrant's Redemption' was everything I was hoping for!
It kicks off right where Tyrant's Revenge ended and boom Tyrant and Embers bumpy story just keeps unfolding and holy heck it's a ride and a half. So buckle up!
After Book 1 we all know Tyrant has some serious redeeming to do....
So..... Will Tyrant get his Redemption?
Tyrant is at boiling point and is desperate to find Snake once and for all. Everything is coming to a head. The question is will he be able to cope?
Will it bring him and Ember closer together, or tear them apart forever?
The push and pull between these two is heart-aching and frustrating as heck, but the chemistry is damn H-O-T.
Before Tyrant and and Ember can get anywhere near their version of a HEA they must survive a journey that is fast-paced, action-packed, emotional, dark, twisted, violent, steamy, and riddled with so many twists and turns your head will be spinning.
This story had me gripped and on edge from start to finish. I devoured it all in one sitting.
And...
With so many intriguing secondary characters in this series I can't wait for more from the Soulless Assassins.

This was my first MC read. Despite being a big mafia reader, MC never appealed to me, but I didn't think I'd like mafia either, so I decided to give it a try. I can't judge the genre by one book, of course, but in this duology I think most of my concerns were well-founded. The misogyny is so high, it's hard for me to take. Tyrant calls more than one woman a , plus other various terms used, but it's the degree to which women have an assigned role they can't step out of that really didn't vibe for me. Ember can never ask or know anything about "club business" even when most things are "club business." Her role never goes beyond feeling like half-servant/half-madam, which is just not my vibe. Brutal killer criminal? I'm good with it. Won't tell his wife anything important? Dealbreaker, apparently.

That said, the book is well done. There are a few too many typos, which is unfortunate because the writing is otherwise very strong. The plot is generally good and I was invested in finding answers to all of the questions. It holds together and kept me engaged in the club as a whole.

Definitely has triggers, if you're against women being beaten or belittled, be warned!

This was long but worth it. In the first book I struggled with the violence that Tyrant heaped on Ember. And how Ember began gaining a Stockholm personality. The violence against her continued at the start of the second book, which was against Tyrant's epiphany that Ember was innocent.

But Gigi gets his head straight and makes Tyrant realise that the one thing he yearns for, Ember's love, won't be his unless he meets her at least halfway. I loved the way Tyrant developed, a pigheaded, alphahole male who finally found some gentleness.

And talk about twists and turns. Sheesh! Betrayal, sibling rivalry, clubs b*tches and lord knows what else! Far too much to deal with in a review. Well worth reading and can't wait for the next book. Hopefully a certain back stabbing ahole get's his comeuppance and gets it in a way that sates my need for revenge!

What seemed on the surface to be a cut-and-dry manhunt, in Tyrant’s Revenge, turned into a whole lot of shock-and-awe, in book two of this MC romance duet: Tyrant’s Redemption.

With Ember still fighting against her place by Tyrant’s side - his enemies seem to be coming out of the woodwork, all intent on destroying everything Tyrant has worked so hard to build.

I loved how this second book allowed for greater opportunity for some of those key kinship relationships to flourish - especially between Ember and Gigi, and Tyrant and Harm.

Though longer and more complex (plot-wise) than book 1, the action passed at an astonishing pace - and proved to be a perfect foil for the slower, more reticent coupling between the two main characters.

I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS SERIES!
Tyrants Redemption was everything I hoped it was and then some! It picks up where Tyrants Revenge left off and Tyrant and Embers story just kept getting better and better. Tyrant is at his wits end trying to find Snake and Ember is at a loss for how to help. The push and pull between these two is unbelievable and the chemistry is off the charts HOT! The action, surprises, excitement, twists and turns in this story is endless. It holds you hostage from beginning to end and leaves you completely out of breath. I think this author poured everything she had into this book and it absolutely shows!

5 Stars. You have to read the first book to get an understanding of what is going on in the second book. Wow!! What a wild ride the second book is. There are some things I just didn't see coming. The romance between Tyrant & Ember continues, it's still raw, gritty, and dark. But there are twist & turns in just about every chapter. There is a club betrayal between brothers, Snake is still in the wind and Ember's stalker is still out there. I totally love this new series. Can't wait to see who is up next in the series. I would love to see if anything develops with Ripper & GiGi or maybe Viper & Jessie. Read this series you won't regret it. Read & Enjoy.

This is the second book in this incredible series and this story continues straight on from where “Tyrant’s Revenge” ended. Tyrant and Ember have so many challenges to overcome along the way, and Ember is now more than capable of standing up for herself. This is a well written fast paced, action packed story, which is dark, raw, gritty, intriguing, and with twists, emotions, drama, combustible chemistry, and love, which leads to a riveting and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented duo whose work I highly recommend.

It hooks you in

The second book in the series and it has you hooked. This series isn't like other MC stories you read. The guys are a lot rougher with their women. I almost, almost thought Tyrant wasn't going to change, but we have to understand that his ways have been ingrained in him for 40 years, so things aren't going to change overnight.
There are a few more edits and grammatical errors I found in this book, but overall it was written well. It kept you interested and it felt pretty authentic. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series, I feel like we already got a glimpse of a couple of the bikers it might be so we'll see!

Really enjoyable book.

Its just enough edgy to not become mills n boon, could have been a bit darker but I really liked that it was a fully formed plot, great characters and hot.

Definitely will be reading book 3 when it comes out.

A few grammatical or spelling errors quite noticeable compared to book 1. Strange. Several sentences I had to read a few times as were so bad. No one picked of these in editing? 2 authors? Bizarre.

Book 2 Definitely was more tame than book 1, 3 needs to be dark n edgy like book 1.

All jn all a great book

U really enjoyed book one in this series, so i had to carry on and see where this story was going.
Ember and Tyrant have so much to overcome. A stalker, her brother and then traitors within. The story grows darker and darker with each chapter.
Tyrant refusing to give Ember up, but in the same breath, not giving her any reason to trust him. It's obey me or else.
So much going on and more to come from the series, i just love the dynamics at play. The plot twists and the guessing who is next. Brilliant read, looking forward to book 3.

Absolutely brilliant!

This MC series would have to be the best series I've read so far this year. I've devoured it !.
It's so full on and everything I love in a MC romance series.
This series has triggers so be warned going in it's not for the faint of heart. I don't know how many times I held my breath throughout this book I was literally on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend this series and look forward to reading the next book. I will be buying these in paperback for sure .

I loved this book. Loved the characters. I grew attached to so many (Trigger, Ripper, Gigi to name a few (not to mention the main protagonists). This is a gritty and fun MC romance book. I was sad to see in the latest newsletter than this would be the last of the series due to the relationship between Raven and Jules ending and Raven being contractually obligated not to move on with Soulless Assassins without her. I am glad we got to see a bit of that world and that we got to finish out Tyrant's and Ember's story. Thank you for the ride.

The ending of this got way too complicated, which is par for the course in MC romances, but the shenanigans went on too long. As a reader, you have to be invested in some of the other characters and plot lines to find those parts interesting, and unfortunately I was not invested. I came to see how Tyrant could possibly be redeemed, but the redemption isn’t a big enough piece of the story, and it’s overshadowed by all the complicated shenanigans. Since Tyrant is so confident he is going to be redeemed and because there is never any real challenge to that redemption then it’s anticlimactic. The H has complete control of the h, so she doesn’t have the choice but to redeem him. Redemption that is forced is boring to read.

Again, loved!

Once again, I devoured this book the same as I devoured the first. I love Tyrant. Absolutely love Tyrant and I love Ember. There were times however where I wanted to yell at Ember and Tyrant both.

I’m an incredibly picky MC romance reader and this series has me hooked. I love everything from the steamy steamy moments to the sisterhood between Gigi and Ember to the brotherhood and the way the relationships develop.

I can’t wait for Book 3. I’m so stoked.
