Jaycee: A Heroine's Journey

Rate this book
Imagine what the world would think or the questions that would be raised if Jesus lived now and was a Women teacher and prophet.
In my book Jaycee I explore that question.
The tale takes place in the small town of Serenity. (Anywhere USA)
The issues and challenges Jaycee and her friends face are modern and connectable to us now.
I have often wondered why Women are not allowed to be Priests and are not celebrated in the Catholic Church to the degree that Men are and have been for centuries.
I tell this very profound and complex tale in a light-hearted and hopefully thought-provoking way.
My goal is to fuel our collective goodness and to encourage the Church toward gender balance .

My first impression about this book is it’s perfect for readers like me because the cover screams so much about teenage life. I thought I would love this book a lot, and I’m never wrong about that.
When you say “Jaycee”, you shouldn’t miss how inspiring the characters are. I loved their personality and most especially the relationship between everybody. In the small town of Serenity in Minnesota, adorable Jaycee easily befriends everyone. Left and right, she is known. And it isn’t that hard for her to have everyone’s back.

This book has talked so much about things that we often close our ears to. First in line is feminism or gender inequality, the author explores the reasons as to why women are not allowed to be priests, when in fact, the church should be our number one role model of not being sexist. It also tells us to what extent this world could be cruel with injustices, racial discrimination, and vilification on the line.

An exceptional read.

The plot was very well executed but the pace was a bit slow for my liking. The beginning is really interesting, yet halfway through it felt quite dragged out. Fortunately, the story had its comeback at the end. I really liked the plot and most of the aspects of it. I just wish that there’s a consistency to it.

The female protagonist is caring but also fierce. She’s the one to make sacrifices for her family and give up everything to whoever is close to her heart. I connected with her through her struggles and determination to fight for what is right. I love how the author made his characters flawed because they’ve become more realistic and relatable.

Overall, I had a great ride reading this book despite the shortcomings in some parts. I would definitely recommend this to everyone I know. A great cast of characters, a fantastic plotline, a powerful sense of justice, and unbreakable relationships. Surely, you’ll enjoy this book more than I do.

Robert Kowalski tackles a wide array of societal issues and religious controversies in a laid-back yet quite poignant manner in his book “Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey”. Jaycee’s story as a young teenager was brilliantly thought out, complete with congenial, entertaining, and sometimes melancholic experiences that make her, as the main character, very easy to relate to and connect with.
Robert Kowalski’s “Jaycee” is an incredibly engaging and interesting story that fascinates its readers with just the right mix of light-hearted storytelling and deep, brooding poems. Kowalski’s narration never had any dead air and every scene seemed to come to life with his detailed descriptions. “Jaycee” is the type of book that really latches on your heart and makes you sad about finishing it. A great read!

Robert Kowalski’s “Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey” has become one of my favorite books of the year in a span of a single day as I read the whole thing in just one sitting. The writing style was very alluring in that the descriptions of every scene were beautiful and every character’s personality was genuine and relatable. I couldn’t stop reading even if I wanted to (which I didn’t).
There are also the occasional parts where Kowalski waxes poetics and introduces various subjects and schools of thought that send my mind reeling from the revelations they bring. The issues that “Jaycee” tackles are relevant and desperately needed for our present-day society. I know very well that this book will be able to start more discussions regarding gender equality in church politics as well as the great impact youth could have in society if given the chance to be heard. Truly, an enjoyable and insightful read, worthy of recommendation!

As a single Christian mom to my 7-year-old daughter, I love how Robert Kowalski introduces the idea of gender equality in Christian societies. Even at a young age, my little girl has already shown signs of being brilliant both spiritually and intellectually. I fear what this brilliance might cause to a young woman who stands out in a traditionally patriarchal, borderline misogynist society.
Jaycee perfectly personifies the idea of a young teenager who definitely has a lot to contribute to the church but, because of the traditional limitations, she is simply seen as a curious cat who is particularly close to the priest to have her questions answered. “Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey” gives me hope for what kind of society is waiting for young ladies such as my little girl as they reach their adolescence. I have faith that this book will bring about the start of a revolutionary change in our Christian societies. Godspeed!

The essence of being Christian is, first and foremost, the spreading of the gospel, service to the needy, and divine humility. Robert Kowalski puts these ideas back into the limelight and calls out the corruption and other misdeeds of the church and most of its leaders in his book, “Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey”. Reading this book made me quite nervous for him as these issues are not anything so simple to laugh about, and many would think twice before deciding to do what Kowalski is doing. However, I am incredibly appreciative of this man’s courage to stand up for what is right and his effort to put Christianity back on the right track. This is a great book and I recommend it to everyone who thinks some changes need to happen in both the churches and governments of the modern era. It’s time to rise up for God’s purpose!

This book by Robert J. Kowalski is both lighthearted and profound, and I believe this paradox is what makes the book so unique.
“Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey” has a great plot that was perfectly executed with beautiful and creative storytelling on the author’s part. Having some deep and brooding poems scattered about in the perfect places to move the story along also made for an engaging and diversified tone in the narrative.
I was amazed by how vivid every scene was described and how lifelike all the characters were built as. Overall, “Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey” is an amazing and well-written story that touches on relevant issues with just enough urgency to be taken seriously but not be burdensome. I highly recommend this book!

This is definitely a great read! Complex and relatable!
Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey offers all sorts of lessons. From religious to moral lessons, the book is never lacking. I enjoyed reading it so much.

The story of the teenagers in the novel is highly relatable to the extent that it could sometimes even reflect me and my friends dealing with identical situations. I loved that about the book since not many books nowadays could be as relatable as the readers expect them to be. It enlightened and inspired me. That is for sure!

I highly recommend this book to all Christians out there. I am so grateful to Robert Kowalski for creating such a wonderful book! It is a masterpiece. A must-read!

I have had my doubts about the church just like the main character in the story, Jaycee Woods. She would usually go straight to Father Paul about whatever questions or doubts she has for the church, and even the religion overall. However, there was one point where she questioned the opulence of the church and its tolerance for it when Jesus, Himself, lived a poor, humble life. This is one of the worldly issues that people nowadays tend to overlook.
Jaycee’s curiosity continued until the end of the book, and that curiosity made me all the more interested in it and what happened afterwards. I am glad I decided to read this book because it shed a light on a whole new perspective for me.

I realize I am in deep waters now, after reading this book. I don’t think I’ll ever move on with Jaycee’s story.
The main character is such a role model and a heroine everyone would look up to. She sees human beings in their own multifaceted identities. She respects the value of one another and, at the same time, declares love for the people around her.
Another thing that picked my interest in this book, aside from the main topic of gender balance in the church, was the talk about the vicious side of politics. I am always a bit cautious when I read political opinions in books. I am almost nervous as I fear that I wouldn’t agree with the author’s claims. But this is where he surprises me the most.
His story is a declaration of love for literature and creativity. It is thought-provoking, compelling, and informative. It has everything you wish to have in a book. Kowalski did a great job in weaving this book. Highly recommended!

This book is very well written and very inspiring to read. It is interesting to learn that the author has written a book based on biblical aspects. First, it mentioned Noah and how he saved the world by creating an ark. Then it mentioned Moses on how magical it was to speak to him through a burning bush. And most importantly - Jaycee, just like Noah, was chosen by God to be His representative to help save the lost humanity.
Jaycee was born far from being special. But the author had mentioned Jaycee as the symbol of change. She may be ordinary but her humble and poetic nature shows that faith is nothing without works.
The author did an extraordinary job to create a heroine that is very simple and ordinary. I think what Robert Kowalski is trying to emphasize is that people should take time to notice little things in life because it is through the little things that matter more than anything else. We may enjoy these little things, and one day we’ll be able to look back and realize they were the big things. What a beautiful book to read and experience the little things that happened in Jaycee’s life. Discover how she planned to save her town and fought evil in the most simple yet interesting way.
This book touches sensitive subjects but the author has delivered them in a warm and humorous way. Moreover, this book may be just a small one but it could have a huge impact on everyone’s mind. Written by a published author and a licensed broker, his creativity and insightful ideas would be perfect for anyone who wants to get inspired. Without a doubt, this book is a jewel. I highly recommend this to everyone.

My favorite thing about Jaycee is her desperate pursuit of truth when it comes to God, the church, and her faith. I appreciated how respectfully she broached the topic of corruption in the church, risking Father Paul’s anger or disappointment at calling him out. This boldness is something most of us lack but desperately need if we want the corruption in our churches to end and our local governments to experience the slightest bit of improvement.
Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey is a gentle yet impactful eye-opener that allows its readers to introspect the newly revealed information at their own pace. The occasional poetics that the author presents are also quite a treat and food for thought. It was such a joy reading this and pondering the many revelations it gave me. I highly recommend it!

Simple and fun yet profound and thought-provoking, “Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey” gives its readers a great time!
I enjoyed Robert Kowalski’s creative perspectives and ideas that make his book unique and more colorful. His characters come to life with his diverse descriptions as well as with their interactions with each other. The tone in which the whole story was being narrated was easygoing with just the perfect amount of brooding undertones accentuated by profound poetries to make the readers aware of the seriousness and impact of the issues being tackled. Follow our lovely protagonist as she juggles her faith, soccer, friends, and family problems while she sets out on a journey to find herself. Truly a great read! The author did a wonderful job writing this.

Jaycee's character captivates me, as Robert Kowalski masterfully crafts one of the most striking introductions imaginable for her. Her birth on Christmas Eve, along the roadside, creates a memorable and unconventional start to her story. Initially, Jaycee embodies the image of an "ideal" child that parents would cherish - kind, compassionate, and understanding. Yet, as the narrative unfolds, this facade of perfection is challenged, thrusting Jaycee into daunting situations that seem insurmountable for her young hands to handle.

Kowalski skillfully explores the tumultuous journey of teenage existential crises, offering a compelling portrayal of how Jaycee grapples with these challenges. What truly resonates with me is the way she is not depicted as unrealistically optimistic and eternally positive. Instead, she experiences moments of frustration, feeling overwhelmed and even resigned to the chaotic inevitability of life. This authenticity and vulnerability make her highly relatable to young adults who may encounter similar experiences.

Through her transformation, Jaycee emerges as a character of immense depth, illustrating the resilience and growth that can arise from confronting existential crises. Kowalski's narrative artistry shines as he weaves a story that not only captivates but also offers valuable insights and empathy for those navigating the complexities of youth.

To be honest, there were times where I was at the edge of putting this book down because it felt like the plot wasn’t really progressing. But I’m glad I kept going because as the finished pages became thicker, it got so much better.

Jaycee is an inspiration. Her determination to help her family and the weight she has on her back were overwhelmingly extraordinary. I was so into her character that I felt like her fight is also my fight. She made it to the end and she has finally understood herself after her remarkable journey.

One of the many things I’ve liked here is their relationship as a family. Ours is very far from them, it isn’t perfect and not everyone gets along together. But her family, despite going through steep mountains, was able to stick together. Her parents gave her roots to stand tall and strong. It’s really true that when you have each other by your side, you have everything you could ever ask for. I may not have what she has. But at the very least, I experienced having one whenever I read through the pages.

Overall, I really liked this book. The author’s writing style was beautiful and honest. There’s just inadequacy with the development but it was good nonetheless. The strength of the prose was able to overpower its imperfection. I hope there will be a sequel, I cannot wait to see where Kowalski takes this storyline.

Incredible for so many reasons!
"A friend is one who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden."
I have a friend, albeit, with time, our paths diverged a bit, it never felt like we've lost our love for each other. From early childhood till our twenties we were inseparable like two flip flops, one is nothing without the other. We were alike, yet different. We're similar in some aspects but our beliefs differ. While she explores her youth, I had my feet firmly fixed on the ground. She is good at math and I am good at science. She was pretty, and popular with boys, but I don't have an interest in those things. I'm an introvert who fell into an extrovert’s trap. I remember our conversations, dreams, and confessions. Though time ruthlessly put a wall in our youthful desires and unworldly ideas, these years with her are an extraordinary time of my life.
But why do I write this? It's because I'm reminded of Jaycee and Maggie's friendship. They are two different people with unlikely personalities but they have each other’s back. Despite having contrasting sentiments, at the end of the day, they could only lean to one another.
Kowalski has weaved such a great book that will bring you back to your childhood memories. Kudos to the author for bringing such a wonderful masterpiece to this world.

In a generation where people are getting busier and when making ends meet is more important than actually living and finding purpose, the world is getting more wicked, and more people have forgotten to live a righteous life. However, in this book, the author has emphasized that God has never forgotten the world. I think this is a reminder in today’s generation that we are loved despite our unworthiness. These ideas have been explicitly expressed at the beginning of the book so that it would, for sure, give a hopeful vibe to the readers as they begin to unfold the pages. Jesus, the heavenly source of hope seeking good messengers, saw in lost humanity the Pandora’s Box of price. In man, defiled and ruined by sin, He saw the possibilities of redemption. The author used a little to put into everyone’s mind that the Almighty is no respecter of gender and neither should we. We are all equal and that we should treat everyone with the same eye level. No one is greater than the other.
I think what makes this book so interesting to read is that the author used a fragile heroine to represent strength. I’m pretty sure that this would raise intriguing insights to the readers on how weakness could represent strengths. This is such a wonderful book to read! I definitely recommend this one.

The modern changes of this world are very consistent and rampant. No matter how much we preserve our old cultures and traditions, there are still big changes coming up that follow the rules of modernization. In this book, Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey, a teenager named Jaycee Woods battles her way in to change the perspectives of the people to engage big capitalists who plan to infest their small livelihoods in town. The Whalemart, which was planned to be built in their town, would be a big devastation to all the people having small stores and such in town, especially to Jaycee’s family. However, even though she is not obliged to plan things out, she sets on her quest to stand up for what is good for her community. I can also relate to Jaycee because whenever there are big establishments in a small town, it is very devastating to watch all the small livelihoods lose their income and eventually, be forced to work for that big company. You see, capitalists are everywhere to give us comfort and needs but we should also take part in preserving our own people by buying locally-made crafts and goods. Nonetheless, Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey is a very smart approach of the author to speak kindly to the readers that there is nothing wrong in improving our way of life as long as it can be beneficial to everyone around us.

When I was a teenager, I also used to party a lot and meet new people. I used to shop and hang out more with my friends than with my family. According to psychologists, these are all normal in the adolescent stage where we crave more attention from people that can relate to things that we do. In the story of Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey by Robert Kowalski, Jaycee Woods is also a typical teenager who shows normal behaviors of a teenager who goes to parties and meets boys her age with the companion of Maggie, her best friend. Although Jaycee is the usual type of teenager, she differs from everybody by her view on things, especially her curiosity about the church and on the political issues that her town is facing. Her relationship with the priest in their town, Father Paul, is one of a kind. She would express herself honestly about the things that she does not understand. And by the time of her soccer game championship, she got curious about the town’s mayor and the set of strangers that were with him because, at that time, there had been rumors that big establishments were about to be built in their area. I love that Robert Kowalski made the story very realistic and intriguing to all readers out there. And I am definitely like Jaycee Woods, who is full of questions and dilemmas in life.

Every book, no matter how bad it is, has always a redeeming value at the end. Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey by Robert Kowalski gives us an insight into the human sufferings; where Jaycee’s friend, Maggie, struggles on obtaining love and care from her parents. As a teenager, love and support from your parents are your essential weapons to battle this life-changing phase in life. But Maggie did not experience being loved by her parents and Jaycee Woods was there for her friend. The book also teaches us the value of love where Jaycee would always care for her family no matter what. One example of this is how she reacted when she heard about a rumored establishment that could kill the small-scale businesses of the people in Serenity, including her father’s business. She stood up and did her best to destroy the mayor’s toll in tolerating big capitalists in their area. Lastly, this book taught us the beauty of parenthood. Whatever Jaycee decides for herself, her family is always there for her, cheering her up and supporting her all the way. The simplicity of the story made the book very relevant to anyone who reads it because these struggles are our daily struggles in life. And it would be calming to know that Jaycee overcame all of these trials by the firm faith and strong perseverance that she had.

Prepare yourself for an extraordinary reading experience that surpasses all expectations. This book transcends the ordinary, immersing you in a world brimming with adventure, magic, spirituality, enlightenment, and renewal. Within the captivating pages of not less than 200, the author masterfully addresses the diverse issues present in our society.

What sets this book apart is its amazing narrative that explores the profound love of God for humanity, the dramatic entry of evil into our world, and the transformative power of an ordinary girl's ability to save and shape a better world. Unlike most books of this genre that typically feature a strong and courageous male protagonist, this one takes a refreshing turn. The author's choice to center the story around a young heroine living a simple and ordinary life, devoid of any superpowers, is a delightful surprise.

I was truly amazed at how the author crafted a character who, despite her weaknesses and innocence, rises to become the embodiment of heroism. This remarkable book not only ignites your body and soul but also transports you to the serene town of Serenity, where peace resides. However, where there is peace, evil inevitably lurks. I won't divulge the details of Jaycee's journey into becoming a heroine, leaving you to discover her path, vulnerabilities, and triumphs firsthand.

Gender inequality, a deeply entrenched issue, casts a long shadow over countless lives. It relegates individuals to second-class citizenship based solely on their gender, perpetuating unchallenged systemic injustices. However, the author skillfully constructs a compelling narrative through Jaycee's life, offering a thought-provoking exploration of enduring inequalities.

The book delves into gender inequality within the church, shedding light on why women are denied opportunities and leadership roles in religious services. Conversations between Jaycee and Father Paul confront this disparity, prompting introspection and a challenge to oppressive structures.

Unfolding a tapestry of eye-opening experiences, the story exposes layers of gender inequality, igniting curiosity to delve deeper into this pressing issue. With authenticity and a gentle yet unwavering tone, the book captivates and inspires transformative change.

Navigating a delicate balance between narrative and profound themes, this literary gem fearlessly confronts gender inequality, casting light on its shadowed corners while preserving hope. Prepare for a captivating journey that leaves an indelible mark. Through powerful insights, this book demands admiration and love for its unwavering dedication to addressing urgent challenges.

This book is a mesmerizing blend of fiction, poetry, and suspense that takes readers on a profound journey. At its core, it explores the fragile relationship between humanity and divinity, delving into the consequences of our actions and the need for redemption.

Drawing inspiration from the timeless allegory of Pandora's Box, the author skillfully weaves a narrative that captures the essence of cause and effect. Amidst the darkness unleashed, there remains a glimmer of hope, symbolizing the resilience of the human spirit.
Jaycee, the courageous protagonist, becomes a beacon of light, confronting the challenging issues that plague our society. Through her journey, the author fearlessly tackles controversial topics, inviting readers to reflect on their own beliefs and perceptions.

The poetic prose effortlessly guides us through the meticulously crafted sequence of events, evoking a range of emotions and leaving a lasting impression. From the gripping accident that leads to an extraordinary birth, to the poignant moments of heartwarming resolution, every page is a testament to the author's skillful storytelling.

In these uncertain times, this book serves as a poignant reminder of our collective responsibility and the enduring power of hope. I wholeheartedly recommend this captivating read to all who seek a thought-provoking and immersive literary experience.

This piece of work is timely and was a pure joy to read.
I feel like the author has written a book specifically for people like me. I loved this book a lot because I related not only to the characters but to every part of the story. We may not be like Jaycee at some point, but the things she went through in her adolescence were something almost every one of us had experienced.
This book showed us how a special kid like Jaycee deals with her curiosity and overcomes the problems she encountered as she goes along. She helped us understand why gender balance is a must and why it is relevant.
What I don’t like about most books that talk about gender equality is they often generalize men as enemies. But with Mr. Robert, he does not deliver hate speech towards men nor does he tell women that they should also take over the other party’s role and become just like them. He rather insists that women should have the same freedom to develop their own strengths at their own will. And I totally agree with him. I have never understood and never been able to accept that I must strive to be the same as men because what we need to do is create an environment that respects feminine strengths. And the author delivers that message like a pro.

Before I begin, let me say this, definitely a 10/10 rating! I can’t imagine how challenging it would be to fight for somebody else’s struggles. But with Jaycee’s spirit and optimism, it has impacted my whole point of view about serving others. Robert Kowalski has proven yet again that his books are world-class and that Jaycee: A Heroine's Journey is a perfect example. This book is a complete depiction of the challenges some of us are facing in our society every single day. When their beautiful and peaceful town was on the verge of being sold into the hands of rich and greedy people who only think of themselves no matter whether they step on someone else’s foot, Jaycee knew that she had to do something before it’s too late. Maybe this book may be met with resistance by some, but if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be in the shoes of Jaycee and the people living peacefully, then I feel like this is an unequivocally honest take.
The overall story of this book is written in a way that is not offensive and does not discourage any kind of religion or people. In fact, this book uplifts anyone who seeks a change in their life.
I commend the author for writing such an inspirational book taken from a true-life event account of people. I highly suggest this book to everyone.

I usually keep a fair distance away from any spiritual or religious books; all the more books that explicitly mention the Catholic Church. I mean, there’s not really any friction or hostility but I always feel a bit iffy and burdened when it comes to intangible things such as the spirit or soul and the doctrinal teachings that always come with them. I don’t know, it’s just not my type.
With that said, I was honestly forced into reading this book by my best friend. One thing’s for sure though, the characters are really well-written and relatable. Right off the bat, I connected myself with Maggie and my best friend with Jaycee. The resemblance in our relationship was so uncanny, it became an inside joke for us to call each other by the characters’ names. Anyways, it was quite surprising how much fun I had reading this book. It wasn’t preachy and doctrinal at all. I learned a lot of spiritual things and things about faith without feeling like they were religious teachings being forced down my throat. This is probably the only biblical fiction I would recommend to all my friends, even the non-religious ones. Unless the author decides to write a second book or a continuation, I would also love to read that. Kudos to the writer!

Jaycee by Robert Kowalski takes on a great spin about the voice of teenagers waiting to be heard in a town called Serenity in Minnesota. Jaycee, together with Maggie, Johnny, and other friends, leads the pack of these tenacious teenagers who have brave opinions and perspectives on the issues of their society. For example, they examine and critique the issue that their town is facing in the story - the planning of building a huge establishment called the Whalemart that can cut and jeopardize some of the citizen’s livelihood and income. This major planning took a big part in Jaycee’s goals to achieve fairness and peace in the town because her father owns a founding hardware store in their town and building Whalemart would be devastating for their family. These are just examples of how Jaycee and the other young adolescents in the story want to convey their message as a sign of being heard in the community. I love how Robert Kowalski highlighted the importance of a woman, Jaycee, and women in general, in this book. Kowalski definitely knows the gender equality issue that is rampant and relevant still in our society. This book is one of a kind and this book can, eventually, change the world sooner or later.

Just like Jaycee Woods, the main character in the story, I also have a number of questions for the church in the community. Jaycee Woods would often talk to Father Paul, their church minister, about why the church would tolerate opulence even though God has walked the earth humbly and poorly. I can tell that Jaycee’s curiosity about things is the same as mine. I am glad that I have read this book because I realized there are a lot of issues in the community that we tend to not give a look even though it is very obvious and rampant still. Jaycee Woods respectfully gave her opinions about the church’s wealth without offending Father Paul and I believe there is nothing wrong with that. She is honest and kind in her approach and she did the best thing to talk to a priest than to talk to a person in the town who does not have sufficient knowledge of the church and its processes. Jaycee Woods’ curiosity is definitely the reason why I continued to finish the book because, as a reader, I can relate to everything that she gathers in her own quest in life. Robert Kowalski did an impressive job to tie all the spiritual teachings and social norms in one book and that made Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey a perfect book in the market right now.

In every story, there is always that friendship that would always inspire and give us lessons until the end of the story. In the case of Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey by Robert Kowalski, we are given the opportunity to witness the friendship of two young girls named Jaycee and Maggie. Jaycee, who lives in a middle-income family, is full of love and support from her family. But on the contrary, Maggie feels unloved by her parents even though she is given everything that money can buy such as the latest phones and cars. The friendship of Jaycee and Maggie taught us that opposite worlds can collide and can form a bond that is strong and kind. The spirit of Jaycee influenced Maggie to do things patiently and with love. Although sometimes Maggie is stubborn, Jaycee never loses hope to support and give love to her friend. By reading this, I remembered my best friend from a long time ago. Unfortunately, we don’t talk anymore. Although I do hope I can patch things up with her when we are both healed from the wounds that we gave each other. Robert Kowalski showed us that friendship can get you through, even in the worst times of your life, because no matter how strong we are, we always want a shoulder to cry on and a heart to listen to all our problems in life.

Logically speaking on things, a drop of water makes up an entire ocean. A coin can make up a great treasure. A single man can make up an entire village. Given these examples, Jaycee: A Heroine’s Journey by Robert Kowalski also conveyed the facts that the small things in life can make up the great things in the future. Sometimes, we tend to ignore the small and simple things surrounding us because their weight does not equate the weight of several things combined. If we look closely, every wonderful thing on this earth consists of tiny particles. Just like the story of Jaycee Woods, her journey towards spiritual freedom and growth is the ticket to an endless supply of dilemmas and problems. With these little problems that she can encounter, she discovered things about herself and the society she’s in. Little by little, these trials in life made her into a completely different person. The message of the story is clear and brief. We should always appreciate the little things in life because those are the big things in pieces. For Robert Kowalski, I would also commend his well-written style of characters and uncomplicated plot. He gave a daring simplicity to his readers and I, too, was very touched and moved by this book.

This book beautifully highlights the shared emotions of sadness, pain, and longing that both humans and animals experience when subjected to cruelty, neglect, and abuse.
