This book was such an encouragement! Such a practical book about anxiety and things you can do to stress less. This book would’ve been extremely helpful for me a few years ago. It’s probably worthy of 4 and a half stars. I’m probably being slightly nit-picky about theology in the book and that’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars. But I honestly found it very encouraging and so many good reminders in it. Would recommend reading!

If I could give this book more stars then I totally would!!! So, so good! This book struck a chord with me right from the beginning and by the end of the book a song was made! To say this book resonated with me is an understatement. It spoke to me. I felt like Bonnie was talking directly to me. I internalized so much and really dug down deep in my soul. This book has become a daily part of my life. I use the breath prayers constantly and the peace from God and the sensation of calming my nervous system is a two pack punch!! Everyone, absolutely everyone can benefit from Bonnie's words of wisdom. Thank you Bonnie for creating this book! Your writing comes off the page and makes the reader feel like a friend is there to guide and bring comfort.

Bonnie Gray's latest book is "Breathe: 21 Days to Stress Less and Transform Chaos to Calm."

"Breathe" addresses topics such as dealing with anxiety and stress, worry, self-criticism, toxic relationships, and many others in the same vein. She does not simply instruct or lecture on these topics; rather, she addresses each one with the wisdom of her own personal experience in dealing with--and overcoming--anxiety and panic attacks.

From the very beginning of the book, I strongly identified with Gray's comments about dealing with stress, especially in light of the recent global pandemic and in the midst of real life as a Christian woman, wife, mother, and military spouse (although to be honest, I think while she tends to address women in her text, the topics and treatments are good for anyone, regardless of gender or parenthood status). In other words, apparently I needed this book more than I thought I would when I preordered it.

I will be working through this book more closely in the weeks ahead, since it appears that life won't be slowing down anytime soon!

Each chapter includes:
*a breath prayer
*a soul care challenge and tip
*questions for thought and/or journaling

Because I often feel as if I'm not worthy of self-care, this book spoke to me in an immediately relevant way. I will without a doubt recommend this book to friends.

I read books for a living, and this books remains at the top of my list for 2023. Breathe by Bonnie Gray is a motivating guide to regaining one's spirit. Gray advocates for adopting science- and Bible-backed health practices.

The book provides a simple but powerful three-step rhythm. In the first segment, "Breathe in truth," readers are encouraged to rejuvenate their spirits by reflecting on God's confirming words. Gray skillfully combines religious lessons with personal experiences to help people recognize their worth. The second phase, "Breathe out prayer," helps patients relax by focusing on their outgoing breath. Gray shows how prayer and other contemplative practices free us. The book advises on soul care, which can improve health and mood. These simple biblical mindfulness practices empower readers to heal themselves. This well-written and thought-provoking book can help relieve stress and confusion. Bonnie Gray's words gently guides readers into the present, where God's peace can heal.

I have thoroughly enjoyed each of Bonnie’s books. I so appreciate how vulnerably she shares her heart and her story, and invites us to join her.

In her newest book, Breathe, she shares such beautiful, hard-earned wisdom with such sweet grace. She invites us to pause and reflect on how we are doing in four areas of wellness: emotional, physical, spiritual, and social. Bonnie shares insight and strategies that blend scientific research with Biblical teachings.

This life often comes with stress. Bonnie helps us understand the problem with ignoring the signals our body is sending, and shares ways to embrace those signals as God-designed ...nurturing our way through.

If you read Bonnie’s, Whispers of Rest, you will love, Breathe!!

Bonnie's books have been a big part of my life for several years now. Her newest book "Breathe" is another blessing. She helps guide us in finding rest, and gives practical guidance for putting these things to practice in our daily lives! She shares personal lessons, related scriptures and then practical tips for applying it for soul care. I appreciate the different areas: physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellness. She also gives a soul care quiz to find the area you need the most. We need them all! Bonnie doesn't just put out books, she provides loving care to her readers, offering online studies and zoom lessons. I recommend this book and all her others too!

If stress and anxiety impact your health and you long for peace, this book is for you. I bought this book to help with reducing my stress and anxiety. This quote towards the beginning stood out to me. “Unfortunately, when we live under stress too long, our bodies stay stuck in the fight-flight-freeze response.” pg. 19 I want to get unstuck, and Bonnie offers soul care that encourages emotional, physical, spiritual, and social wellness. Each day offers breathing in truth, prayer, soul care challenges, and reflection questions. If you feel overwhelmed or anxious, check out this book and be refreshed!

When I saw this book I thought, I don’t need this book, I am pretty calm in stressful situations. However, the Holy Spirit encouraged me to buy two copies, one for me and one for a friend. I love it when the Holy Spirit knows best. Yes, I am pretty calm, but only because of the Holy Spirit moving in my life. I can remember a time when I wasn’t so calm. Reading this book reminded me of why I am calm, showed me where I have not fully arrived, and what else needs to happen. Like Bonnie Gray’s other books this “Breathe: 21 Days to Stress Less and Transform Chaos to Calm” was a must needed read right on time. May others learn how to be calm despite the dramas of life.

Bonnie Gray explains the difference between self care and soul care in this 21 day devotional and gives many examples of soul care practices that are so accessible you can start implementing them immediately!  I love that Bonnie incorporates breath prayers into this book.  They are so beneficial at relieving stress as you draw closer to God. And she offers a soul care quiz so you can zone on in your most important area of need first! This book also has affirming truths from Scripture to remind us how much God loves us and cares about our souls. You will be blessed!

Breathe stands up to it’s cover image— relaxing, refreshing, and rejuvenating. Bonnie Gray’s words of encouragement are grounded in scripture, showing us how we are created to live with less worry and more joy. This is Bonnie’s fourth book that continues the theme of exploring our own stories, and living out our lives with God’s peace. It’s a book I’d recommend to always have close to you, so you can breathe in truth and breathe out prayer, practicing soul care daily.

I've been reading the pre-sale emails, posts, and discussions about this book and I already feel as though I've gained so much. I'm genuinely looking forward to getting this book in the mail tomorrow and diving in head first. It's so nice to see someone relate scientific evidence and God together in one book.

Love everything Bonnie Gray does! Her ability to combine spiritual truth with practical tips about taking care of your mental health & lowering stress/anxiety is amazing. I will say this wasn’t my favorite book of hers, as I felt like I had heard a lot of the material from her previous writing and podcast. But overall it was a refreshing reminder to not neglect soul care and this book is jam-packed with simple strategies for doing that.

I discovered Bonnie Gray several years ago when I read her book, Finding Spiritual White Space. I've been following her since. This is her fourth book. In Breathe, Bonnie brings together all that she's learned in one place as she teaches you to breathe in truth, breath out prayer and put into action practical suggestions to calm anxiety and focus on things that bring joy and rest into one's soul. In the 21 chapters, she touches on emotional, physical, spiritual and social wellness. Her free Soul Care quiz helps you set priorities for your personal wellness. So it's easy to jump to the section that most needs healing in your life. One of my favorite breath prayers is breathing in: When I pass through the waters. Then breathing out: You will be with me. Based on Isaiah 43:3. Anyone looking to incorporate scripture and practical tools to reduce and hopefully eliminate stress will find Breathe a great biblical resource.
