Hate and hunt. It’s all Zayn knows how to do. But then a night spent chasing a fox through the shadows changes everything…
After a terrible betrayal that cut through the heart of his home, alpha Zayn’s hatred for foxes runs deep. Even his own pack has turned their backs on him for refusing to let go of the past. Now he has a chance to earn his place in a new pack and get revenge on the foxes. All he has to do is hunt down a fox before sunrise.
All foxes know what it is to be hunted, but until Zayn, Dylan never truly knew what it meant to be caught.
Captured by wolves while searching for a new home for his den, omega Dylan knows his time is short. Wolves will do what they do best—hunt. He isn’t fast enough to outrun them, and there’s no way he can survive a fight. But then the wolf who catches him hesitates—and now they’re both on the run. Together.
Run to Him is a slow burn m/m shifter romance and the third book of the Moonshadow Den series. It contains mpreg and mature themes.
Claire Cullen is an author and aspiring baker. Since she was a toddler, she has loved making up stories. Getting them down on paper proved a challenge in the early years when her preferred medium was finger puppets. She moved on to pen and paper, and later to keyboards, and hasn't looked back since, except for occasional bouts of nostalgia.
I loved the storytelling here and the characters. There was action, drama, heat, emotion… all the things I needed when I reached for this book. I fell into the story fully and feel I got to know the characters and what drove them to be the way they are. Both the main characters and secondary characters had my attention and I loved every page.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
I can't get into this book and I have been trying for months. I think it stems from Zayn being the absolute worst. At the end of book 2 he was past the point of redemption and honestly there is no coming back for him.
if you’re looking for romance, Clair Cullen is not it.
Sure, writing is good. Great. But the romance? Ugh, non existent (I feel nothing). Then there’s her signature ‘out of no where first kiss’ umm, where was the lead up? Did I miss 5 chapters? (like, the fuck?) There’s something about her characters too. Sometimes they act out of character. (Like, you’re supposed to be more mature and understanding than that, you hypocrite)
after devouring the first two books in the series, I was beyond excited to finally get Zayn’s story. he’s been a sort of big bad wolf for our previous fox protagonists, and I was really looking forward to seeing how he turned things around in his redemption arc.
this book in particular fell a little flat for me. while it was enjoyable, I’m not sure Zayn was as bad as he’d been made out to be in the first two books. being in a character’s head and seeing their thoughts and motivations is of course different from seeing them as a side character, but it really felt like a lot of retconning happened pretty well the second we got into Zayn’s head. things seemed to happen pretty quickly, and for someone so vehemently against fox shifters, his opinion changed too fast for my taste. there was no internal struggle as he fell for Dylan, and I think the author could have explored that more.
additionally, now that we’re three books in, I think I can safely say that there’s no real tangible difference between any of the main characters. you could swap the names of any of them and it would feel like they were in an au of their original canon.
my last complaint would be that the surprise/unexpected pregnancy trope is incredibly tired at this point. we have three books and in all three books at around the 50-60% mark there’s an OOPS I’m pregnant! moment. in book two and book three the omegas have either unexpected heats or their heats pass without them knowing, and while I can suspend disbelief for a lot of things in this alternate universe with a bunch of fictional shifter people, that is a bit of a stretch for me.
overall I was pretty disappointed with book three. I’m sure it works for some, but it was incredibly predictable and Zayn wasn’t the same character at all that he had been in the first two books.

When your place has always been home. Zayn was in a new pack. Jorgen's pack. He was hoping to move to be Jorgen's 2nd in command. He was ready to walk on the wild side and do what was needed to fit in. He didn't think he had a line even though he spent years under Roman's, his previous Alpha Prime's influence. Zayn was loyalty/skilled tested and his reward was to be given a head start before the others in hunting a fox. This was Zayn's line, even though the hated fox, Dylan is an omega. Dylan, has an amazing story and major skills. Zayn, has an attack of conscience and they make alternate decisions from what Jergen wants. They go on a major adventure that involves more conflict, more dangerous decisions and more people. Will Zayn continue to grow? Will they return to Moonshadow? Great new characters. I hope we get to hear more stories of Moonshadow family. Good ending to this group. Well done.
I love Zayn. He was my favorite character in book one (I didn’t read the second book) and I was really looking forward to his story. He’s an opinionated, supercilious, angry asshole. And I loved him. And that’s what I was expecting, for someone to love him because of or even despite it all. But that’s not what we got here. Zayn’s personality in this book was completely out of character. He was suddenly kind and introspective and apologetic. I don’t care for any of that. I thought I was reading about a not particularly lovable character being loved anyway. But that’s not it. And the drama toward the end? Absolutely fucking ludicrous. Zayn doesn’t hate foxes but all the while hated himself? No, thank you. DNF 85%. I tried for you Zayn, I did, but this just ain’t it. Why does everyone have to be perfect all the time, Jesus. Cookie-cutter characters.

Run to Him is another great addition to the Moonshadow Den series and I really enjoyed it. I have been looking forward to reading Zayn's story and I am so happy that he gets a chance to redeem himself. Dylan is an absolute sweetheart and I love his dedication to his family as well as his bravery when faced with so many hardships. He and Zayn end up looking after each other while on the run and I love how their relationship evolves. They do have a lot to deal with and at times their issues seem to be insurmountable but as long as neither of them gives up they just may find the HEA they both so richly deserve. The ending is wonderful, I love the secondary characters and I can't wait to read the next book in this exciting series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
The story between Zayn and Dylan is my favorite from the series. The past 2 books villainized Zayn and we finally get his backstory as to why he has such a deep hatred for the foxes but at the end he’s not a one dimensional evil character. He can see that these shifters had nothing to do with the war and what happened and that they don’t deserve death just for being a fox shifter. I love how they are together and when Dylan takes him back to his den. They fall in love and it felt well paced the progression of their relationship. It had some moment that I are predictable and some other instances that feel very much like the first book but aside from that out of the entire series so far the best story. I also liked their HFN ending.
As of the time of this review, this is the last book in the series. I’m hoping for more books as I have come to like this world, even though it’s cruel, there is also hope that one day it will be a better place for all when the wolves and foxes or even the hyenas can live in harmony. I have to say this is the least favorite out of the three books with book two being the most favorite. The storyline and characters are just not as engaging as the other two books. With that said, it is still a good and enjoyable read.
I was glad to see Zayn’s story and redemption! A sweet installment hinting at more development to come. I’m still puzzled by this world, where no one seems to trade and humans have been gone for how long but they still have canned goods and beer…hope the author (tries) to explain that at some point. But that aside, I thought this was much better than the last one and I really could feel the love between these two.
Well done! This installment brings resolution to one of the unanswered questions from the previous books, plus provides additional background for the overall story arc and worldview. Good character development, per usual, and connecting with previous characters helps provide storyline continuity. This installment ends on a positive note, with a promising future for the group.
A hunted fox, the wolf who hates him...or does he...
I have been waiting for this book! It was everything I hoped for. I love this unique world. This book has it all: betrayal, vulnerability, unbelievable courage, slow-burn, great sex, unexpected allies, and cute kids. Look for a birth to remember. I guarantee you are gonna love this book! Please read the previous books in order. Time. Well. Spent!
Zayn had an uphill battle to fight after the audacity he had in the first 2 books in this series but he fought well, and I really liked him in the end. I was expecting the conflict to rear its head eventually but I will say it happened rather suddenly and was resolved a little too easily. I'm honestly so curious about this world though that I kind of want to see more stories set in this world.
The aftermath of war between the hyenas, wolves and foxes continues. At the beginning I wasn't very conviced about Zayn, since he was a real idiot in the first two books but then I warmed up to him, real character development there! While Dylan and Zayn learn to trust each other, I was really invested in them getting to the wolf pack and to safety. I've enjoyed these books so much, want to read more! ♥

The best installment in this series and a very satisfying end to the overall storyline.
I didn't expect this to be may favourite of the series because I despised the main character from the other books. He had quite some redeeming to do and did so successfully. The lovestory acutally felt more complete than those in the other two books, as if the author changed her writing style a little bit to put more flesh to the romance.
The first book was a bit frustrating and the slow burn was a little too slow for me.
The second book, I enjoyed completely and wondered what Zayn’s story would bring. I was pleasantly surprised. The third book brings a great end to the story and brings it back full circle.
I liked how Zayn’s hatred was fully explained and resolved, best written resolution of hatred I’ve read in a long time.
This story should be called redemption for Zayn! For the whole series we've been building to this and I've dreaded this book because how can he redeem himself. Well he did. I forgive him.
I'm also really excited to see how everything unfolded in this world!
Overall, a good story that really must be read in order.
I loved this one as I loved the last two in the series…such fun reads. I feel like it was a pretty quick read overall, and the drama was minimal. So if you love shifter/mm romance you won’t be disappointed! I was so happy to see Zayne overcome his internal battles and find happiness.
The basic world building behind this story is not a new one where it sounds like earth had something catastrophic happen to it but Claire Cullen has done a wonderful job of making an interesting story out of it. This book is also a redemption story and a sweet romance.
It was hard to see how this was going to work out but the author managed to turn Zayn's story around. The romance was another slow burn, nicely done, especially the progress of Zayn's awareness of himself.
Zayn finds his way back from his anger as he helps an omega fox in need. The prodigal son returns and finds a way to let the past go to focus in the future. Dylan is a cutie as well, determined and wiley.
This is the third book in the Moonshadow Den Book Series .
This was a good read I really liked the omega fox in this book and I'm so glad that we get to learn more about zayn . All in all this is a pretty good series and I hope that there is more to come .
