De bibliothecaris van Cativicus is vermoord, met in zijn poezelige pootje een boek. Wat is er gebeurd? Omdat de plaatselijke politiekat te sloom is, beslist Moira zelf maar op onderzoek uit te gaan. Well, this is what happens when you go to the library with your son and want to read his books...
Sadly, there's no English translation of this Dutch book, but you can translate the title freely as 'Murder in Cativicus'. It made me think a bit of cozy mystery, but then for children from the age of 9. Cativicus is a little town with cats living in it. They do all the things humans do. Moira is a female cat who works at a school with a very annoying boss, called Nemue. Moira lives in a little, colorful house and she's crazy about unicorns. She even has a mini - unicorn, Mystique, who lives in the garden and on her house. How cute is that! Moira likes to read and when Finn, the librarian, got murdered, she wants to investigate and solve the crime. Jeff, the police officer, is a bit too lazy to do that. Moira goes on an adventure with her friends raven and Samael.
I enjoyed reading this book and even giggled about some events. The drawings weren't too much, but nicele done.

Op een dag wordt de bibliothecaris vermoord, en gaat zij het mysterie oplossen.🧐
Wat een fijn dun boekje.😄
Het leest lekker snel weg en is wel heel leuk om te lezen.🤓
Het mysterie blijft ook intéressant tot het bittere einde.🤯
Ik kon uiteraard wel voorspellen waar het naartoe ging, maar dat was geen probleem.😉
Ik bleef toch lichtjes onzeker tot het einde.🤔
Het is een leuk boekje, eventueel voor kinderen die niet heel graag lezen, aangezien het niet zo dik is.🤩

LEESJURY 10-12j: Mogelijks zou ik dit in een lagere leescategorie plaatsen. Het is een dun boekje, met niet al te moeilijk taalgebruik en gemakkelijk te lezen. Het verhaal leest erg vlot, en zou ook de 8-10 jarigen aanspreken denk ik. Voor de 10-12 jarigen is het boek misschien iets te simpel. Ik miste wat diepgang in de uitwerking van de personages en hun karakter, het bleef een beetje oppervlakkig.

Dit is gewoon een heel leuk detective boekje voor de middenbouw. Een who dunnit in een kattenjasje.
Het boekje leest vlot en is best dun, dat zullen sommige jonge lezers prettig vinden.
