Blackstone Vampire Clan #1

Immortal Inheritance

Rate this book
Constantine Darke was the altar I wanted to sin on—my darkest desires made flesh—a beautiful predator I’d make mine, no matter how many scars I have to endure.

I’ve always been a survivor—death, violence, cruelty—I’ve seen it all, and I’m still here.
But nothing prepared me for Constantine, King of the Blackstone Vampire Clan. Our history goes back a long time, five hundred years to be exact. Generations for me, a single lifetime for him.

As I’m drawn deeper into Con’s savage world of blood feuds and death curses, I feel more alive than ever, even though I’m in more danger than ever before. My enemies are no longer human. They’re faster than me, they’re stronger than me.
But they aren’t smarter.

And that will be their downfall.

***Immortal Inheritance is set in the same world as the Darkfell Vampire Clan, and is intended for adult audiences

I chose this book believing it was a romance between two people. The synopsis made no reference of another man being thrown into it. I don't have anything agains MFM books. I enjoy reading them, but I was already immersed in the story when I realized this. I truly believe Rob deserved better because both Constantine and Logan are idiots. They are unworthy of a kind and loyal man like him. Now for the rant since I'm dissatisfied with this book.

This book makes no sense. The characters do so many dumb things that you are certain they are all stupid. Constantine despises the girl one minute and wants to shove himself into her the next. Seriously, make up your mind, dude. The book claims one thing, but then contradicts itself in the following chapters. I don't get how Logan couldn't get the ring off her finger and then lifted it off to take a bath. And why would you take off your gold ring while batheing ?????? It's not going to rust. They specifically told the dumb h to keep it on her finger bc it will protect her but she acts like she knows it all.

On top of that, I couldn't find any connection between them. There is no love, care, friendship, or chemistry. I didn't feel anything at all. I had the impression that I was being told rather than shown. The storyline seemed intriguing at first, but the development of the characters didn't make sense. I only kept reading because I was curious about the ending, which was a total letdown. Even the s*x scenes were disappointing.

I liked the premise of this book: vampires & why choose … the best subjects. But this book took me so long to read compared to other books. Really loved the dark broodiness of Con (definitely my fav character). Robert has the same name as my dad so I just could not vibe with him😂 I liked the idea of finding Caye as well but not sure what it was about this book that just didn’t get me falling in love. Still a good book though. I might come back to the series at another time

First of all, everyone’s names are horrendous. Logan Dean? I had to reread the first chapter when I realized that it might have actually been the perspective of the girl.

A vampire named Robert?? Already not ideal, but moaning it in bed? Absolutely not. Might as well be Leroy or Julius or something. A name that’s just dying for a nickname that has nothing to do with the label the government knows you as.

Constantine but goes by Con? Meh. Might as well have named him Connor then. Especially considering how Constantine and Robert only have a two year age difference which makes their cool name discrepancy even more strange. One of their sets of parents definitely hated them, and probably because their father had been a Rob/ Bob/ Bobby all their life & sadistically doomed their kid to the same fate.

Anyway. The chemistry is as effective as the name choices – poorly conceived and improperly developed. They’re mainly attracted to her in a Vampire Diaries kind of way, but this Elena is a lot more whiny, if you can believe it.

The spice is more of a “good for them but this is too vague and abrupt to find any enjoyment from theirs.”

It’s also just silly when magic is *unlocked* and the user is immediately adept, even to their own demise. I don’t care if it’s the same way it happened before with a similar person/magic and that alone is a big uh oh. It was silly back then, too. I assure you.

The ending was a deux ex machina, as if we weren’t already aware this wasn’t entirely thought out. I’m sure it’s great if you don’t want to think a lot, but even going in with that intent led to disappointment when even the nonsense was ultimately unsatisfying.

Well I wanted to like this book. I was drawn in at the beginning and thought it would be pretty intriguing and then reality hit….Logan is one of the most annoying, stubborn (in a bad way), frustrating female leads I’ve encountered in awhile. Like I wanted to shake her into getting a grip on her new reality and then at points I wanted the bad vamp in the beginning to succeed in killing her. The relationship between the guys and Logan was just flat. Conn I liked at first - broody, arrogant, damaged…I can get behind a sexy, powerful defective man, but then he whines about not wanting King, he goes soft (gasp), I can’t live without Logan, blah blah blah. Robert - smar, but boring.

Yet I continued on thinking it would come together, maybe, redemption around the corner possibly? Still waiting…I’ll continue on to the next installment just FFS and remain hopeful.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

DNF 21% Yikes, holy contradictions and poor storytelling batman. This chick experiences supernatural biz first hand and yet still doesn't believe, but then will say her life is filled with supernatural stuff, but then go back to saying she doesn't believe. Make up your mind ffs.

Next, so glad we set the story up for the fmc to be at this awesome creepy house for 60 days and the author skips 30 of those days and just tells us that the fmc and one of the mmc's get along. So happy to have not experienced the character development because that would have been a total waste of a story (please note the sarcasm).

AND THEN, the bad guy FINDS HER! And instead of running away she stops to tell people she has to leave soon but then DOESN'T FREAKING LEAVE. Because she has to clean out a goddamn basement first????????????????????????? Make it make sense.

Turrible.

“My life will not end like this.
I swore on my brother’s grave I would not die today, in a New York alleyway, beside a [—]ucking dumpster.”

Such an immersive beginning! I love novels with captivating first paragraphs! They make me feel like I am going to finish the book. Plus, the house! It is a decrepid old mansion filled with sheeted furniture and antiques and ... treasure? Excuse me while I trespass. 😉.

There are 2 main men involved:

• Robert: the sweet lawyer who seems more like a brother to her than a lover, but what do I know?
• Darke, the grumpy, tall, dark and handsome mysterious guy. I am sure with Servius and Darke, there is an enemies-to-lovers theme.

But wait, what about Logan? Well, she confuses me. As well-travelled as she is, the thought of settling down appeals to her, but Servius is chasing her. Does she tell Robert when he is threatened? No. Wait, what? Why hide that fact? Robert cannot prepare if he doesn’t know!

Logan: high-powered witch. I am disappointed. The most exciting witches to me have props: potions, tarot cards, candles. They need rituals and time. The guys can tell she is powerful, but 30% in, I cannot tell she has any power, except precognition. But I like her character! Unfortunately, she looks exactly like a former lover of theirs, and all the attraction between them becomes suspect. How much of that is nostalgia? Is she a reincarnation? Does she have the same personality?

Logan, however, is a strong woman. Who else would dare to force their wrist into a vampire's mouth?

The Romance:
I am into the tease, the touches, the almosts. I desire the heated looks, the obvious attraction between the two. Robert is described as her friend, and I don't feel that tension. Darke, however, with his nightly appearances, does give me that romantic vibe...in her dreams. Steamy. 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶. Way too many moments of steam.

The story builds up to more and more action and a hot ending (wink wink).

• Instalove.
• Fated Mates?
• Love Triangle
• "Safe" comes up a lot.
• Steamy and more.

I liked it.

This was compelling and interesting and it kept me reading when I wasn’t sure I would .
Logan ?
Aaaaaaaaaaa ,wasn’t sure if I loved her, hated her or just wanted to have some fun slapping her around to see I’d some sense could actually be knocked into her.
gods, this B was stubborn just for the sake of being stubborn at times . And isn’t infuriating how smart truly stupid ppl can think they are ? Dear gods, over half this stupid, stupid book was spent just trying to convince this idiotic girl of the reality that started this story to begin with.
I mean, the story starts with a very ugly and violent encounter w/a vampire when he tries to kidnap her, something that with the way it plays out should have convinced her vampires were real and we’re NO joke and deadly as AF. Yet the back and forth BS Robert and Constantine feels like it goes on and on and on and on . I will say this ,Robert and Con are hardly consistent w/her, got one minute and cold the next . Practically smothering her one second and actively avoiding her the next ,it was frustrating and confusing to say the least. One minute Robert is growling at Con about not running her off and telling us she’s his mate and the next he seems to forget about her and gone for days at a time .
I felt like,”dude, make up your freaking mind!”
Got after her and fight for or walk the F away. She saves his life and tells him she loves him. He says he’s gonna tell her she’s his mate. He walks away and is gone for days avoiding her. Again!
It was so damn frustrating!
Con was the most consistent of all of this with his broody, anti social ,I only care about myself act and living to tick her off persona. But even he could act as fickle as a girl out in a field of daisies playing “they love me,they love me not.” Until the very end when suddenly he’s all in after doesn’t listen to Logan’s pleading and gets ticked Robert ,blaming him for her for being held hostage.
Most the time I was so frustrated with all of them I’d love to have killed then myself and told God they just up and died but the story was inane compelling and weirdly enough I’m looking forward to more with these weird twisted ppl.

A riveting vampire and witch read, wonderful characters and story
This is a tragic story from the offset as it initially begins with Logan who had been attacked by a vampire outside her art exhibition, she had managed to fight back by finding some unknown strength and biting back.
On the run for three months, she is on the run from Adrian Servis who told her that he would hunt her no matter where she ran so when she received notification, she had been bequeathed a house by her old neighbour she had decided to go there in the hope she might get some respite.
Both Robert and Constantine had not been able to hide their shock and even though Logan did not understand why she had feeling she knew both me intimately from another time but how she had no idea.
The two men know that there is something special about Logan otherwise their friend Bart would not have left Aviemore to her in his will, as time passes and she discovers the witches ring and is able to open the box and when she puts it on her thumb feels the electric power course through her body.
As the feelings between the three grow and Logan explains that she is being hunted and what happened to her brother and his family both Robert and Con realise that they have to show her what they really are, they will protect her from any vampire or witch that would harm her.
I do no t want to go into more detail as I do not want to soil this story for other readers and there are lots of twists and turns that will keep you guessing, I cannot wait for future books in this series.
You will enjoy every single moment of this book.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

ARC from author - NO spoilers in review. Book 1 with small cliffy. Adult read,MFM, Vampire Witch romance, Medium spice, slow burn. All characters over 18yrs. Multi POV. Kidnapping.

I enjoyed this book, easy to follow with likeable, albeit frustrating MC's at times. A few twists n turns in the story keep your attention. I had guessed the twists long before they were divulged on page so it was a relaxing read for me. Sometimes my analytical brain ruins things!
Descriptive settings; easy to envision, sufficient backstory released at key points with clear bad guys.
The start was particularly good with its introduction to Logan, our FMC and her initial meeting with Con and Robert, our MMC's was amusing.
Con's character at times did not run true, a little wavery but Rob remained quite steadfast throughout, Logan was running on instinct and making rash decisions, some good, some bad, some even she knew were stupid! She has had a lot of revelation dumped on her and her ability to deal with can be explained away. Overall this menage has all elements it needs but stupidity has a way of creeping in.

This book had a clear ending for the current skirmish but ends on a cliffy for the start of something else linked and with a very interesting character.
Know what I would like to happen but am dreading a blast from the past creating problems with our somewhat complacent Logan and her Men.

One niggle is the change of chapter POV; not clear til you actually read the chapter and you see the names mentioned, then it's oh right it is from so and so's POV.

My first read from this author and I shall certainly look for more books and series.

Holy cats and bats! I love this book. This is a medium to fast-burn, fantasy, menage a trois (MFM) romance. It has lots of interesting characters, funny moments, fast-paced action, some slightly dark, creepy parts, and a goodly amount of steamy stuff. I love how this story has a connection to the vampire clan in the Darkfell Vampire Clan series, but the situation is different. This story takes place shortly after the other series, so I recommend reading that series as well as this one.

Logan, the female main character, is not a vampire. Instead, she's a witch. Like Seraphina, she doesn't know what she is at first, and her love interests help her discover her truth. Robert and Constantine are those love interests, and they are vampires. Their vampire clan is the Blackstone Clan, and they're located in the South.

I like the way Logan is tough but kind-hearted, as she butts heads with Constantine and befriends Robert. The villains are truly evil, and I enjoyed seeing Logan fighting and turning the tables on them. I kind of want her have problems with using her new-found magic, but it's also cool how she uses it instinctually.

I especially enjoyed the friction between Logan and Constantine. Robert and Logan are sweet together, so the clash of wills with Constantine keeps things very interesting. The steamy scenes are exactly that: Steamy.

I'm excited to see what this trio get into in the next books. I wonder if there will be more series in the vampire and witches world? I'd like to see more characters from the Darkfell series make an appearance.

Immortal Inheritance: KU, 364 pgs ****.* 7/2/24 Constatine, Robert & Logan

4.5 stars. First, this is a 3-person romance book. Not my favorite but I didn’t realize it before I started reading this book.
Logan, an artist, was thrown into the supernatural world when she was attacked by a vampire. Her life had been anything but normal. She inherited an estate inheritance in Georgia by a vampire she barely remember from childhood and that is where her life changed forever.
Robert, an attorney for the estate she inherited and his friend, Constatine, became Logan’s protectors once they found out she was being hunted.
Constatine, a vampire that is next in line to be King of the Blackstone Clan. He and Robert have been friends since childhood, through their turning and for the past 500 years.
The story is about Logan finding out she is a witch and trying to learn how to use all the powers she has after her magic is unbound by another witch. The three MC’s are always on the defensive because of Logan’s strong magic and Con’s being next in line to be King. Many battles happen which are exciting and written well. The sex between the three were written well, just not my thing. I enjoyed this beginning story, and it kept me intrigued and interested. I will be continuing this series.

Well, right off the bat I’ll express my disappointment that I have to wait a couple of weeks before the next book in the series is out. I decided to read the author’s other series - The Darkfell Vampire Clan - and was once again disappointed to find I’d already read it. Dang! Oh well, it’s not like I don’t have about a gajillion books in my TBR stack.

I liked this a lot. I seem to have developed a weakness for men from the Highlands lately so these boys fit the bill. Much like in The Darkfell Vampire Clan, the female MC didn’t have a clue that she had magical abilities (or that they even existed) so had to take a crash course and adapt to this new and wondrous lifestyle. Lucky for her it included a couple of hunky vampires who practically fall at her feet upon first laying eyes upon her. Long story short, she’s abducted by bad paranormals and they all end up in Scotland. Much angst. Will the good guys prevail when it seems they are outgunned and outmatched?

**I received a free ARC from BookSirens and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.**

Oh man, I am about to spout an unpopular opinion and probably be blasted for it...and I don't really care. I feel like what I am about to say makes my case for me...so here I go. I absolutely hated the Darkfell Vampire story. I said it. There it is. I had just come off L.A. McGinnis' Banished Gods series (oh gods, I loved that one), read the first Darkfell and just couldn't figure it out. So, when I got the opportunity to read this one, I was a tad scared. I absolutely hate getting a free book and then having to bash an author's hard work. It's the worst feeling in the world. So, I waffled, and wavered, and wondered and finally, I grabbed it anyways. And I am glad I did. The Blackstone clan is great! It's a steamy, dark story, some good sarcasm, a good kidnapping, a rescue and yet more dark and handsome (and did I mention Scottish?) vampires.

Logan is on the run from a monster, literally~ After experiencing a family tragedy many years ago, life has been cruel. When she ran across the monster, she managed to drink some of his blood and she overcame him and ran with his promise to find her on her heels. Three months later, she answers a summons from an attorney about an inheritance. Some man she met as a child left her his house and fortune with stipulations. The attorney, Robert, and a friend, Con, were talking in riddles about humans and other things she did not quite understand but it seemed the three knew one another. Unbeknownst to Logan, she has entered the world of Supes~ She will have powers of her own to deal with; but in the interim, vamps, witches, revenants, necromancer, wraiths, and an old lover hoping to live once again~ when the secrets spill out and the truth comes out…what will happen to all of them? And what about those that help the new king with this battle…what do they truly want?

If I could give half stars I would give this one 3.5- my main problem with it was how it was formatted. It is a multiple POV story but the names indicating whose it was is included with the main body of the text, and if there was a change in POV within a chapter, a symbol was used but the name was not included which made things slightly confusing. However, I enjoyed the story and thought it was a good start to the series. I'm interested to see how the relationships develop and who is added to Logan's harem. I would have preferred slightly steamier and more detail within the intimate scenes but that is probably my personal preference. The slight cliff hanger ending was good and it has definitely made me want to read the next book! Looking forward to seeing how this story develops.

Logan is on the run since a vampire tried to attack her. Adrian promised he would find her wherever she went.
Months later Logan receives a letter that she has inherited Aviemore from Bart. A creepy old man she barely remembers.
Logan leaves Constantine and Robert, the lawyer, speechless with her white hair and green eyes. Deja ve.
Robert wants her to stay at Aviemore while Constantine seduces her in her dreams telling her she needs to leave. Two vampires and a human. Then they discover a secret about Logan that she's unaware of.
Evil waits in the shadows waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. He needs her. Will Constantine and Rob be able to save her in time?
A great debut for a new series!

I got this book for free and can say I loved the first half of this book. This is the first menage book I have read, and I am here for it.

Logan is on the run and being hunted by a dangerous enemy. When she gets the chance at an inheritance that could change her life and give her the means to stay on the run, she takes it. Little does she know there are strings attached. The King of the Blackstone Vampire Clan isn't too happy about her inheritance, but luckily she has one ally in town, the steamy and sweet town lawyer.

The steamy scenes were mwah. The first half of the book was great. I liked the characters and the pacing. In the book's second half, when the action kicked in felt more disjointed. There were also a lot of typos, but nothing that ruined it, though.

I will still probably try the second book.

Sensual, fast paced read.

There's always a rich undercurrent of carnal desire running through vampire books, and this one is no exception:

"After peeking under the draped furniture, I slid open the enormous pocket doors and discovered a library, filled with shelf after shelf of books. Running my finger along the dusty bookshelves, I looked around in wonder, at the rolling ladder, the huge fireplace, the saggy, comfortable chairs. This was already my favorite room in the house."

Oooooh yeah. Right there, baby.

All library porn aside, this is a shared world with others by the same author, for that squee of recognition when a familiar name is mentioned. The leading lady is an unknowingly powerful witch, with two ancient vampires her new protectors.

Great start to the series!

Vampires, witches, and all sorts of other types of creatures make this a read that you can't put down! This story was full of action, steam, mystery, and wonderful characters. This was a first read for me from this author and I loved it! I will be looking for other books. The writing flows and hooks you into the story where you get lost. Con, Rob, and Logan are a trio that counter balance each other to make a great team to whatever they come up against. There may be some aspects of the story that could bother some blood, suicide, and violence, however it isn't over done. The story leaves off where there are still questions and things needing a solution, but it is not a cliff hanger. I loved this book and can't wait for the next!!

This is the second series I’m reading from L.A. McGinnis and it’s off to a great start. This series follows a different Vampire clan but from the same world as the Darkfell Vampires. You do see and hear mention of people from the other books, but you don’t necessarily need to read them first. I really like all the characters and their backstories that are given in bits and pieces throughout the book. It’s interesting that the main heroine is a witch. It really makes this series different in that aspect and I’m excited to see what she can do. I was on the edge of my seat and waiting anxiously for the next book. This book does end in a bit of a mysterious cliffhanger so be warned. I can’t wait to read what’s next! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

I am fast becoming addicted to this author’s books. They are a great escape into well crafted worlds that pull you into their mysteries. I enjoyed the insight into another parallel vampire world after reading the Darkfell clan series. The characters as is often the case with this author are all shades of grey, and inspire and frustrate in equal measure. As it is the first book in the series I am expecting to learn much more about Logan in the next books in the series. I didn’t fully connect with her the way I have with other characters by this author but I’m interested enough to read on. I did like Con and Robert though and I like their dynamics, strengths and insecurities. The end of the book has me itching to know more which makes me feel this is definitely a series to persevere with.

Vampires, witches, revenants... What more could you ask for from an amazing PNR. This book is set in the same world as the Darkfell Vampire novels, and much like those other books, the writing does not disappoint! We follow Logan, a clever girl with a complicated past, as she comes into an inheritance she did not know she had. Along the way, she encounters Constantine and Robert, an unlikely duo, who quickly become an important part of her world. As secrets are revealed, we learn that things are not always as they seem, and as the pieces fall into place, things will never be the same again. This reverse harem is truly well written, with twists that I never would have seen coming. I definitely recommend checking it out, even if you haven't read any of the Darkfell books!

I devoured this book. I couldn't put it down. It was extremely fast paced with an intricate plot, spicy scenes for days, and mystical elements that I loved. I knew from the get go there was something off about Barts death and Evans death. Something that connected it all in my head. While that twist should have been a major surprise, it wasn't for me, but it didn't keep me from enjoying the story. Con, Rob, and Logans scenes were so 🔥🧎‍♀️ had me weak!! I love how strong she became, though I fear for her connection to Caye. I think that will end up biting them all later. Is it wrong that I kinda hope all the vampires become her harem 🤣🙈 I love when a girl gets to have all the guys! And they all seem so yummy

When Logan goes on the run after being attacked, and she's running for her life .She decides to run to Charslton for some inheritance, she doesn't expect to meet Constantine Darke,a vampire with a mood as dark as his name,at her laywer's Robert Locke. Also a vampire .Logan's immediately given the warning vibe about Mr Darke ,but Robert he's a much kinder man.
This book was an epic tale forged hundreds of years earlier, culminating now.
Vampires ,witches, reverants and necromancers what more can you want ,wrapped in with love ,sex and Mates . I'm so excited for the next book.Got to get it. Well worth the read.

This was my first book by L.A McGinnis and I have to say she done an amazing job the characters flowed perfectly the story line was on point.. vampires and witches how could you go wrong. Only thing I didn't like was the change of views don't get me wrong I loved getting inside the guys heads but I do think adding a name over the break like she done with the chapter would have been an awesome addition u had to guess who's point of view I was reading a few times. But other than that I can't Waite to read book two the ending of this one sorta left me all hyped to know what's gonna happen.. Thank you for letting me read your book.

I liked it but she loved them way to quickly, especially cause Constantine was an asshole to her. And the thing where robert was avoiding her and Constantine revealed her dreams were real, was resolved way to quickly for me. And i don't really like that the fact the boys like her is because she looks like Caye. I hate that trope, where they had another mate and only likes her because she looks like their ex. It's room for improvement in the next book cause i really liked when Constantine got feral. That proved how much he loved her, I'm looking forward to Shane. I know a bit of spoilers already cause I read the standalone in this series before this. So honestly Shane was my favorite cameo of the boys in the standalone, so i have high hopes for him. I look forward to next book
