USA TODAY Bestselling Author Brandt Legg uses his unusual real life experiences to create page-turning novels. He’s traveled with CIA agents, dined with senators and congressmen, mingled with astronauts, chatted with governors and presidential candidates, had a private conversation with a Secretary of Defense he still doesn’t like to talk about, hung out with Oscar and Grammy winners, had drinks at the State Department, been pursued by tabloid reporters, and spent a birthday at the White House by invitation from the President of the United States.
At age eight, Legg's father died suddenly, plunging his family into poverty. Two years later, while suffering from crippling migraines, he started in business, and turned a hobby into a multi-million-dollar empire. National media dubbed him the “Teen Tycoon,” and by the mid-eighties, Legg was one of the top young entrepreneurs in America, appearing as high as number twenty-four on the list (when Steve Jobs was #1, Bill Gates #4, and Michael Dell #6). Legg still jokes that he should have gone into computers.
By his twenties, after years of buying and selling businesses, leveraging, and risk-taking, the high-flying Legg became ensnarled in the financial whirlwind of the junk bond eighties. The stock market crashed and a firestorm of trouble came down. The Teen Tycoon racked up more than a million dollars in legal fees, was betrayed by those closest to him, lost his entire fortune, and ended up serving time for financial improprieties.
After a year, Legg emerged from federal prison, chastened and wiser, and began anew. More than twenty-five years later, he’s now using all that hard-earned firsthand knowledge of conspiracies, corruption and high finance to weave his tales. Legg’s books pulse with authenticity.
His series have excited nearly a million readers around the world. Although he refused an offer to make a television movie about his life as a teenage millionaire, his autobiography is in the works. There has also been interest from Hollywood to turn his thrillers into films. With any luck, one day you’ll see your favorite characters on screen.

Chasing Lies—book 10 in the series—is a wild ride with twists and turns that blur the distance between dystopian vision and current affairs. The hunger of the powerful to dominate the world results in manipulating the its inhabitants and stripping them of power. Against this dark backdrop and the expectation that resistance is futile, Chase Malone and Wen struggle to survive, struggle to see clearly thru the web of lies and media manipulation.
The only way is to never trust what is offered as truth, especially in news updates that pepper the entire plot. (I had to smile when at last, the site REAL TRUTH, spouting ‘internet fact based news, was suddenly inflicted with “Error 404, Site could not be found.”)
This book brings up questions that linger in mind beyond its end. Five stars.
In the tenth book in the Chase Malone series author Brand Legg takes us to a futuristic world, one that may be in the cards for humanity as what transpires here is very believable. A billionaire and his partner will need to fight a powerful and evil force that wants to control humanity. Reading this book really had me thinking that the author is giving us a warning of what may come to fruition, and that’s what makes a great book—one that makes you think. Truly a gripping read as all of Legg's books are.
Wow, author outdid himself here. This one is a real thriller and takes you on an outstanding adventure through a mix of reality and fantasy that makes you compare conspiracy theories with our real world issues today. I thought the News Flashes that pop up were a brilliant idea and so well done. Which news do we believe? What is real and what is lies or exaggeration? (just like real life where Fox, CNN, ect. are all slanted and opinionated half truths} Characters continue to develop and grow and we get to see the identity of the evil shadow people revealed at last. Again that revelation is done at the right time at the peak, rather than another 3-5+ books of dragging the secret on. Mr. Legg knows how to build suspense and then when to revel the secret before it gets old or frustrating for the reader.
Brandt Legg is an outstanding writer that fills the genre with intelligent fast paced action with great characters, while still making you think and challenge your own opinions and beliefs. I have read every book he has written and it is entertaining, fun, thought provoking material. As the stories and characters evolve, grow, and change it has also been exciting to see his writing and skill growing and evolving as well.
As always will be anxiously awaiting the next book! Vacation starts 12/23/22 maybe I'll get lucky and have one to read for the holidays! LOL :-)
Chasing Lies is book 10 in Chase Malone series. The conspiracy theories are so plausible. All the books are fast reads & cannot wait until finish story. Find that all the books make me stop & think about how our society functions & survives.
Chase and Wen at their very best. Danger bullets death on every corner every road but what's going on and who is doing it and who wants them dead. Very recommend read
