A little sun never hurt anyone . . . unless you’re me.

Ever since I was turned into a vampire, my private investigator job has been my life. Then my sire, Kade Carmichael, crashes back into it. I try to shake him, but he has other plans.

When I’m asked to investigate a homicide case, Kade manages to make himself my partner. The more time I’m forced to spend with him, the harder it is to deny feelings I thought were long buried.

To make matters worse, a mysterious stalker is obsessed with exposing me as the murderer. Soon, not only is my career at stake, my very life is.

Kade might be the only one who can help me, but that means letting him in. And losing my life doesn’t scare me nearly as bad as risking my heart.

*Sun Touched is a standalone enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, second chance romance told from Isla and Kade’s point-of-view, and a continuation of the A Touch of Vampire world intended to be read after Fate Touched.

This book is without a shadow of a doubt my favorite in the A Touch of Vampire series. And are we even surprised? Kade stole my heart since the first book, so it was only natural that he would ruin me the moment he was unleashed as the love interest. He’s just so sweet, thoughtful, respectful but also so protective and strong…aaahh Kade. Kade, Kade, Kade. I love you! Favorite vampire in the whole wide universe. Okay, that is not entirely true because Isla is right there with him. She was such a great secondary character in the main trilogy, but with Sun Touched she showed her full main character energy. Together, she and Kade just make sense. They’re both the sun personified. Seeing them together, getting to their happy ending, falling in love…it makes me so happy!

On a serious note, besides the romance, I also enjoyed the mystery, how it gave us the chance to see Isla still come to terms with her new life, and I loved seeing how this eventually brought the whole gang back together to bring the culprit to justice. Seeing Loch and Kenna from an outside perspective made me happy. His protectiveness his even more endearing, and Loch and Kade’s friendship and bond seen from Kade’s side somehow gave me even more feels than it already did. This is magic, I tell you. (Or simply because every Kade does turns my eyes into huge hearts.) The standalone storyline was fantastic, and at the same time it was the perfect conclusion to series.

So excited to see the next story the author has in store in this universe. This time, it’s going to be werewolves! *screams into her pillow*

After having read the first three books in Becky Moynihan’s A Touch of Vampire series—and loving them—I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Sun Touched, and now that I have, I can honestly say it did not disappoint. I so loved Kade and Isla’s story. My only complaint is that I want more!

Sun Touched is a standalone/spinoff told in dual points-of-view and takes place five years after the main events of book three. Isla is making her mark in the world as a Private Investigator, working closely with her family in the SCA, and determined to leave her past with Kade in the past…until things go sideways on a case and she calls him for help. I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll just say this book has a little bit of everything — murder, mystery, bloodlust, twists, turns, the love of family and friends, and a bit of steam. Isla’s headstrong fierceness to be her own person on her own terms and Kade’s patient persistence, kindheartedness, and understanding (so the perfect book boyfriend) added the perfect amount of tension and sweetness to their budding romance as they both discover what they mean to each other and what length they’ll go to protect one another.

This book truly sucked me in and I found myself flipping through the pages like there was no tomorrow. I recommend it, and the series, to everyone who loves a great vampire story that sucks you in from the get go and refuses to let go.

Great sequel to the Touch of Vampire series!

Why? Why does a great series have to end? I loved all the characters, and the storyline was fantastic ( in all four books) I wanted this series to go on forever! I loved everything about this series!

What can I say about this final book in the series? Wow! It has been a while since I read the others and that made no difference. The minute I started the book, I was sucked right back in.
As Kade was my favorite character right from the start, this was my favorite book yet. He’s such an example of the perfect, strong, silent hero, hiding in the background and supporting everyone while they take him so much for granted.
Follow this up with Isla, wow! She has turned very quickly into my favorite female character. She is strong, stubborn, opinionated, and willing to do anything to save those she loves. What more can we ask than that? Oh, I did and of course, Becky delivered! I wanted to see Isla come to terms with who she had become and how much she loved Kade. We this all unfolding at just the right pace, answering all of our questions and giving us some closure.
I really enjoyed the action in this book. The mystery was not at all overpowering but was also not lost in the romance. This was a finely balanced book that kept the pages turning so fast that I was shocked when the ending came up so fast, shocked and disappointed, I was not ready to leave this world yet!
Now I am just counting down to the next part of the series where we get to see more about the werewolves and their part in the world. If it is even half as good as this main series, I will be one happy reader!

This. Book. Is. FIRE! SO STEAMY! Becky busts out another winner with Kade and Isla's story. I was overjoyed to venture back into this world and reunite with characters that I have grown to love. Isla did not disappoint with her sharp wit and tongue, and Kade, well, his patience and dedication would win me over any time! Though there were parts where my heart broke, the story was fast moving and I flew through the book quicker than I would have liked. I just couldn't stop reading! Ummm ... Becky .... More please?!?

I’ve had the pleasure of arc reading all 4 books in this series and I feel like the luckiest girl alive!

✨✨BOOK REVIEW✨✨

I’ve been waiting for Kade and Isla’s story for what feels like forever! This is a spin-off/stand alone in the A Touch of Vampire series. It could NOT have been more perfect and I didn’t want it to ever end! With the perfect amount of smut sprinkled throughout I could not get enough of this book. I seriously wouldn’t have changed a thing about it. If you are looking for the perfect fated mates/vampire/perfect smut book, this is for you!! I might have to reread it like…..tomorrow. Just start the entire series over 😂😂

Would love to read more of this story!

I loved reading about Isla and Kade! They went through so much and the way everything worked out was wonderful! Lots of surprises and action and tons of hot things too if you know what I mean. If you enjoyed reading the other books in this series then you’ll definitely enjoy reading this story about Isla and Kade. It’s so good! That ending left me hoping to read more. I would love to see more of all the characters and what happens in their lives after that. Highly recommend this!

Well... this book was definitely smutty something, that's for sure. Also, GOOD Goddess, I need a poster sized print of the book cover! It's my favorite. (So far. 👀)

But with Kade . . . I didn’t want to screw this up, whatever this was. I was growing more than a little attached to him, and I didn’t think the sire bond had anything to do with it. I was still scared, still terrified that I’d lose who I was. But at the same time, he made me feel good about myself. He didn’t see me as a killer or a half-feral monster. He saw me, Isla Andrews. And he somehow loved who I was, flaws and all.

Sun Touched is the fourth installment of the A Touch of Vampire series. Technically, it can be read alone. But everything makes more sense if you read the other three first. Sun Touched switches up the pov for Kade and Isla's story. We meet both of them in the earlier books. They both have incredibly close connections with the previous protagonists, Kenna and Lochlan. We begin with a small time jump. I don't usually like time jumps, but this one helps advance the plot enough that it feels like an appropriate point to start a new story. Sun Touched has everything I already loved about the series. Fun interesting characters who are protective and maybe a little alpha jealous of their significant others. And I know I can compare literally anything to TVD, but Kade and Isla give off big Delena energy. At times, they also reminded me of Bellarke. And dare I say, a bit of Ella Enchanted. I kind of wish we had gotten to know the villain a little better. He tried to be Daddy Klaus but we all know a Walmart VS Chanel when we see one. 😌

I leave you with some no context gifs. 😘

I have enjoyed this entire series! I loved Loch but let me tell you I want to marry Kade!! I always loved his characters fierce protectiveness and loyalty in the other books but getting to know him better in this book opened up a whole new side. Isla was a perfect match for him too! She’s independent and stubborn, but can kick ass too. I highly recommend this book and the entire series! I honestly didn’t want it to end!!

Vampires, bloodlust, witty banter between the MCs, a boner at a drive-thru and murder mystery. Did I miss something? Oh yeah how about a friends to enemies to lovers trope?! What more can a girl ask for in a book?!?!?!

This spinoff/standalone was my introduction to A Touch of Vampire series. I may have started at the end, but I do not regret it. Makes me want to read the books before this one so much more!!

The author was so nice as the send me an ARC to read!

This book was well worth the wait! I thoroughly enjoyed the pining and love that grew between Kade and Isla chapter after chapter. Kade is such a sweetheart and deserves all the love!

Determine to leave Kade in the “realm of I moved on” Instead she finds herself running into problems that leave her no choice but to contact him. Isla’s Feisty personality and Kade’s patience and understanding make this couple the perfect pair. A thrilling mystery with twists and turns plus the added element of the slow burn of a friend-to-lover feel we love. Great sequel to the Touch of Vampire series! The character depth and chemistry are perfectly constructed. The storyline and the ending will definitely leave you salivating for the next book. I’d say this one is absolutely a “Re-reader”. Hands Down 5 stars!

I had really high hopes for this one :((

Everything just fell a little flat unfortunately. The steam didn’t affect me. The characters didn’t melt me and the story didn’t really captivate me.

It felt honestly a little dragging with the FMC just pushing the hero the whole time.

Wanted so much more!!

I seriously loved Kade more then I did in the last books. He was kind and gentle, but was definitely book boyfriend material. He showed friendship when he wanted more from Isla. I'm happy they got their happy ending.

When I say this is the side character book I didn't know I needed..THE NEED IS REAL.
Isla is the ultimate main character-even though I wanted to smack her upside the head just a couple of times. And Kade...KADE...daddy..sorry?...daddy. Just saying. He is uh-mazing.
I loved that we still got to see the characters from the previous books because I'll never get over them.
Nor will I ever get enough of the spice between Kade and Isla..because that spice was DIVINE.

I absolutely loved this series! I definitely want more books now! I need Everett to find happiness because he deserves it and I want to see him crowned King when he does. I want a Saanvi and Noah story because I love them both and I would love to get more from a witch's perspective. Though Troy died in this one, I was kind of wanting a redemption arc for him...but then he ruined it by being an ass to Isla in the prison. So 🤷‍♀️

Kade is my favorite. I love him and his personality, his protectiveness, his charm and wit. He is just perfection. Add in that he is described as a Thor look-alike, and just 🤌. I really enjoyed seeing from his perspective in this book. How he loved and helped Isla become more herself, happy and carefree, made me fall in love with him even more than I did with Lochlan.

Isla is a boss. I know she had her struggles in this book, but experiencing her overcome them was cathartic. I loved watching her overcome her fear of herself and what she could be capable of, and see her start to trust herself. In the beginning she hates the site bond because she sees it as something that controls and smothers her, so I loved the multiple callbacks to it being something that ultimately freed her. First with the bond overcoming the allure to bring back her memories and absolve her of the murder she thought she had committed. Then at the very end when that bond overcame the allure to kill Kade and instead she was able to take down sociopath Sam. Get it girl!

I am wishing at the moment that this wasn't all in a single book so I could drag this story on longer!

Good lord was this FMC annoying. I don’t know if she made one smart choice in this whole book.

I like Kade well enough, but did that stop me from wanting to throat punch him after all the bad decisions he made? No, no it didn’t.

This paranormal vampire romance began differently from others. I loved the mystery, suspense, and thrilling aspects of the story. The drama in this book is addicting. The characters were fabulous; Isla and Kade are opposites who deal with forced proximity and unrequited feelings, and who did it ?, that will leave you guessing until the end. I loved how the author brought new terminology to this story and a female lead that matured as the story took place. The end of this book is action-packed and fabulous. Some of it is graphic and centered toward a new adult audience. Still, you will love this story if you're a fan of heroines, swoony Alphas, and mystery. This book takes a spot in my top reads this year.

Kade is still the protective, sweet vampire we know him to be from earlier books in this series, and it seems he might have a crush on Isla, but it has been a while since she had contact with him. Now when she calls, he knows something isn't right.

We begin the book from Islas' pov but almost the day before the prologue. Isla is grown up and has been a vampire for a while, but she still gets into trouble. Isla is a private investigator now.

Oh, her real-time relationship with Kade as a sire isn't that great lots of unexpected emotions between these two. Backed into a corner by her father, this paranormal book has turned into a murder mystery.

Has Isla gone feral? Isla is in deep and getting deeper as she keeps secrets and gets involved in trying to find answers. Kade is with Isla, but only because he loves her and is trying to help her, but she is stubborn.

I love that we get some back history on Kade and how he becomes the vampire he is today. Goodness, the chemistry between Kade and Isla is hot enough to burn up your kindle. Things get heated as they get deeper into this murder mystery. I love that this story differs from other vampire romance fiction I have read. It is exhilarating, swoon-worthy, and addicting.

I love Islas's character, mindset, personality, and willpower. Kade is powerful yet serene, a constant source of love and support. His character is a lot deeper in this book. Finally, we get some new adult romance and a mature steamy scene; they have been hitting the bases slowly but eventually went for that home run.
Isla has had many justifiable fears, but Kade soothes them with his trustworthiness. I'm glad she finally embraced what she was running from and confronted her fears.

This gets more intriguing as this murder mystery takes a new turn and new terminology is brought about regarding the paranormal. The setup couldn't be better and instead inspires some terror and darkness to unravel in this storyline. However, Kade and Isla's determination for the truth is thrilling. The end of this book is action-packed, like flying thru those last few chapters as these characters fight for what they believe in and each other.

I loved how this book ended. This was a fabulous read and a new spin on a paranormal vampire mystery and romance. I truly hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Fun casual read

Overall I enjoyed the book. Full disclosure I haven't read the rest of the series and I think that made a difference. Yes it's said to be a stand alone but also I felt like I was missing a lot of the history and story. Maybe it would have still been that way though had I read the previous books. It felt like I was starting with the second book of a two part series. Especially for Kade's character. I don't feel like I got an opportunity to really get to know him outside of being in a relationship/how he treated Isla.

With that being said it was a fun casual read.

There were some moments where I was cringing. But that's personal preference. I don't particularly care for being able to "smell" arousals etc in books. At least not as much as it was mentioned in this book and others too being able to smell it. There were some other things that made me cringe too but that's personal preference too.

Last feedback is that the ending felt rushed. And there were moments during the book that I wondered if there was actually much of a plot at all, but the last 1/3 to 1/4 of the book really brought the plot back full swing.

So 3.5/4 stars. Good read, probably won't ever read again, characters probably had better development if you read the whole series, kept my interest but I could put it down for breaks pretty easily and come back later. However I still wanted to pick it back up and was never tempted to DNF.

Book rating: 3.75 ⭐
Spice rating: 2.25 🔥
Character chemistry: 4.25 ✨  (Isla & Kade)

Book tropes:
-Forced proximity
-Kinda second chance romance
-She 'dislikes' him, he loves her
-Murder mystery
-Dual POV
-Spin-off

My thoughts:
-So, they were my favorite secondary characters in the previous three books and I loved the scenes they had in them. In "Fate Touched" I actually enjoyed them more than the main characters, therefore I was super excited to read this spin-off and had been counting back the days since August.

-I enjoyed this book and their chemistry was on point, however, I kinda expected more. Maybe it is because I waited a few months and loved them so much, that I put a higher bar on what I was expecting. For example, I wanted more tension between them, more pinning and frustrations so it would be special when they finally got together.

-Also, I felt like the villain's actions weren't that logical and his infatuation with Isla seemed out of nowhere.

-I LOVED Kade, honestly he was a great character.

-Overall it was entertaining and a great conclusion to the story. I definitely recommend this saga if you like vampires, witches, and supernatural beings.
