I dont feel right giving a religious text a rating but I LOVED reading this and have a lot of really great takeaways!

As one who has little contact with things relating to hinduism, I was surprised to find it so moving and relevant to any life. Important, even. At least it felt that way to me

The translation is great, very accesible, I found that I understood it quite well even when it is an ancient text and written in prose. That is because the translator did a great job in balancing - knowing when to directly translate and give it that feeling like Vishnu is speaking in almost "arcane" language, but also when to use a more practical language.
At least for a layman, its amazing. Maybe not so to a scholar or one who actually practices the religion, but I could not say.
I still recommend using a companion text or reading a summary beforehand, to get a little more context about what is going on, such as why Arjuna is going to battle, and so on.

It's a book of instructions on how to live, in order to get to know God. I found it very similar to the New Testament in the guidance of attitudes and behavior. It's written from a different standpoint, because it's within a system that considers reincarnation. But I found the main idea of human behavior to be the same. It's written poetically and it's very complementary with the Power of Silence by Eckhart Tolle

Je l’ai lu pour avoir une vision d’ensemble de la mythologie hindoux, et ce fut un bon choix! Allez y mais à compléter avec des sources plus « scholaire » du panthéon indien
