Highschool football star Michael Greer wants to follow in his big brother’s footsteps as he steps onto the path that will lead to a career with the FBI. But on that tragic day on September 11, 2001, NYFD Lieutenant and devoted father to the two brothers, Jack Greer was killed while climbing tower 2. With the sudden and tragic loss of Michael’s father, the grief-stricken teenager joins the United States Navy to become a SEAL. After two stints in the SEAL’s, the young Petty Officer made a name for himself for his prowess with a gun. During his last four years in Afghanistan, he becomes a cult hero after tales of his fast pull ability and deadly accuracy spread through the middle east.
Even his blinding speed on the draw wasn’t enough to save him while pinned down on a rooftop in Afghanistan during his last mission. Cut off, under heavy fire he remained danger close lazing an insurgent hideout. The blast from the two Hellfire missiles levels the building and almost cost Greer his life.
Severely wounded from the blast, he’s airlifted to Walter Reed hospital for treatment and rehabilitation. His painful and heart wrenching recovery in the hospital is palliated when he receives a Purple Heart and the Navy Cross for his heroism. Greer is finally cleared for active duty. Before he returns to his unit, his brother, FBI Special Agent Frank Greer intervenes to keep his brother stateside. After pleading with his younger brother to join the FBI, Greer says farewell to the military to continue the fight at home.
While Greer waits for his induction into the FBI, he hones his gun hand making him even faster than before. Once in the FBI, Greer is selected for a new position as a Behavioral Analyst. Not the academic think tank kind, but the gun toting field agent kind.
After his training, Greer is deployed to the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia where local law enforcement officials discover a serial killer working the seafaring cities around the water. While developing a profile of the killer for the task force, he unintentionally teams up with veteran FBI Special Agent, Sam Corson. With an unspoken gratitude for the military, the legendary agent reluctantly mentors the ex-SEAL.
In a fatal twist, Greer is left alone to investigate the Elizabeth River Killer case. With dead ends after dead ends plaguing the investigation, he finally gets a break in the case. It leads the FBI to a hidden trophy case of the killers additional victims. Suddenly they realize their serial killer has been living amongst them for over twenty years and he’s been killing the whole time.
Realizing he’s been discovered; the killer goes on the run but doesn’t get far. Desperately he tries to get away hiding in the cover of the Chesapeake fog. When Greer catches up with him, he gives him one chance to surrender. Read what happens next when the killer refuse to give up.
