This is amazing. It was so much fun reading this one. I loved the four terrors'. I can't wait for the next book to come out next year.

I have been meaning to fit more Monster reads in, and this really scratched that itch for me.
This is easily one of my favorite reads in 2023 so far! Full of gorey, graphic, and descriptive scenes, I found myself making notes on my Kindle for the very first time. Picking up where Book 1 left off, it jumps right in. The explicit Steamy scenes were even better in this book compared to book 1, and I really enjoyed book 1 as well. I have my theories about Aliana and the terrors, but I have to wait for book 3 now to find out if they're correct. The part about Christian Grey and Edward Cullen had me laughing so hard. My favorite monster is by far Tesq ♡
My heat rating is based on the amount of occurrence, the length of scenes, how explicit, and how filthy/unconventional. The appendages were definitely monstrous and nonhumanoid. There were multiple scenes, but aside from multiple partners and the obvious monster aspect, they were fairly conventional. 3/5 🌶

Tesq and Creep are so cuuuute. I wanted to put them in my pocket. Dev is a bit of an ass,but he just need someone to teach him how to behave properly. And Chase/ Em...they are in for it 🤣

Another read to feed that craving on that monster romance trope that will have you facing horror and erotica.
Our girl is facing some issues with her mates. Dev is an ass who only wants her for himself. Creep...well he's fitting to his name but is open to sharing in more ways than one. Tesq is seen as a gentle giant, and applause to him for winning over the girl so flawlessly. Em...well, he's stuck in the body of Chase after attempting to kill her so she can be with him - like him - in his lonely form.
The group is coming together but it turns out that the reign of The Terrors may be coming to an end as an unseen threat makes itself known, and we are left with a cliffhanger.

I'm actually not that into monster romances. Even though I was the girl scared of the monster under the bed, I didn't become the girl interested in being with one. However, both Katie May and Ann Denton are amazing authors. I read everything they write, no matter if it's my cup of tea or not. And I surprisingly enough really enjoyed the first book in this series, so I was looking forward to get my hands on the paperback edition of the second. It arrived yesterday and I started reading right away.
Once more I was surprised how invested I was and how much I enjoyed reading this. The monsters are amazingly well written. Yes, they are monsters. It's clear they can turn killing into some fun game and how they talk about humans around their human mate is not always okay either, but since we're reading quite a few chapters from their point of view we get to know them as people and see that deep down they also have their doubts and worries and longings.
I also love how our heroine is fitting into their world. She's very much human, which means that in a lot of ways she's not as strong or doesn't heal as fast as her monstrous boyfriends, but she's not a damsel in distress either and although her monsters do try to turn her into one, she never lets them. She shows them her skills, helps them when needed and becomes one of them in her own way, with her own strengths and weaknesses.
The world the authors crafted in this book is also very interesting and intriguing. It's a dystopia, but it also has monsters and those monsters have their own kind of politics and their own set of rules. Although this series is without a doubt more about the characters and their individual growth, meaning that the plot is not too prominent and that the world building is not too detailed, the authors do show how awesome and dangerous their world can be in the best way possible.
I can't wait for the next book already!

Just like the first book, this one is getting 3.5⭐️. It was enjoyable, I liked the development of Alaina’s relationships (and the smut) and the plot. More of the monster political upheaval is revealed and we get a clearer look at the main villain. But again… HUGE cliffhanger. This is why I try to wait until the whole series is out.
Cliffhanger aside, this was a fun read that I’ll probably reread (because I forget everything so fast lol) once the final book is released. I’ve definitely been on a monster McInnis I recently, but this story just didn’t hook me as much as some others have. But it was definitely a quick and entertaining read!

I am so thankful that I downloaded all 3 books in this series before starting to read the first book, because the cliff hanger in that book sucked. I do so hate when authors and publishers try to milk their readers by splitting up stories into more than one book. However, I can deal with it since I have KU and can read these for free. Anyhoo, I’m glad that the story picked up right where we left off, in a back alley where one of Aliana’s mates tried to kill her so they can be together forever as ghosts. And just like Aliana, I had no respect or sympathy for Chase, her nemesis from the human world, until he prevented her death by that psycho. The Empty Man, Em as he calls himself is my least favorite of Aliana’s mates and in need of redemption the most. Aliana still lives in a depressing dystopian world in which I see no hope for mankind. One thing I haven’t liked in either book so far is that there seems to be no luxury, not even much creature comforts for Aliana as she’s inadvertently passed between all of her monsters who live in dark, dank, depressing places. But since at least two of them seem to want to take care of her, feed her, heal her, protect her, and pleasure her, who needs creature comforts? Something that impressed me is how good the writing is. This is not some teenager writing out an immature fantasy but a skilled author: “I flicker my eyes from side to side, looking for shelter. But the building on our right is a collapsed fire station—the walls caved in right on top of one of the red trucks, squashing it behind the front seat. On the right is a massive cinder-block wall. It has to be at least thirty feet high. There’s no ladder or means of egress visible there; the wall continues unbroken for at least a hundred feet.” I can picture everything with clarity which makes for an engaging story for me. And I can feel every conflict and tension: “we keep butting heads like two goats squaring off on the side of a mountain.” It goes to follow then that the spicy scenes are over the top amazing. My favorite of THE FOUR is till Creeper. Not only is he in love with Aliana and good at giving her pleasure, he believes in her, gives her freedom, and makes everything fun. He’s the only one who has made her laugh. The twist toward the end took me by surprise but then so did the cliff hanger. I really hate cliff hangers.

The second book is over and my god, what a book that was! I have to say, despite everything, this book was pretty cozy. Yeah. It was filled with limited spaces and sweet cozy moments. Enough for this book to feel cozy overall. I don't know if that was the vibe Ms. Denton and Ms. May were going for, but that's certainly the vibe I got.
All in all, I liked this book, even though it didn't have this feeling of novelty to it that the first one has. The monsters are more humanized, we see way more of them. Which is obvious, expected and normal. I suppose, the loss of that novelty feeling is normal too, although I miss it. The POV switching is brutal in this one too, so that was a little more difficult for me personally. But hey, it's still a good book.

I got suckered into Book Two because of how Book One ended, even though I wasn't fond of Book One. Then, I realized that Book Two was going to be more of the same. I just can't do it. How are you going to write a reverse harem devoid of sex? I mean, yes, there is some. But for the most part, it's just them running around in monster world, fighting monsters and getting hurt. If the book were advertised differently, then it would have been different. Then again, I probably wouldn't have picked up this series to begin with.
Just like the first book, this one felt incomplete--more like an episode of a TV series than a book with an exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and conclusion. It just sort of morphs from thing to thing. There was a climatic part at the end, but as there isn't much of a resolution, it's really just another large conflict. Now, the reader needs to read the next book to get a real conclusion. This is why I hate these types of trilogies. You just get strung along. Complete books, people. We need complete books.
Anyhow, I'm not moving on to the last. I'm done with the characters. I have no desire to see what will happen. I already know what the structure will be, so I'm just going to skip it and move on to something I'll get more enjoyment from.

Just like the first book, this one felt incomplete--more like an episode of a TV series than a book with an exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and conclusion. It just sort of morphs from thing to thing. There was a climatic part at the end, but as there isn't much of a resolution, it's really just another large conflict. Now, the reader needs to read the next book to get a real conclusion. This is why I hate these types of trilogies. You just get strung along. Complete books, people. We need complete books.
Anyhow, I'm not moving on to the last. I'm done with the characters. I have no desire to see what will happen. I already know what the structure will be, so I'm just going to skip it and move on to something I'll get more enjoyment from.

You know, I’ve read some crazy and cruel cliffhangers before, but that’s got to be one of the cruelest. Bravo. But also boo! I’m so glad the third book is already out.
This one picked up right where book one ended, and it was a wild ride!
Aliana is fierce and headstrong, but she’s a much more likable character this time around, in my opinion. Her mind has been opened, and I loved seeing her embrace her mates.
Tesq is still absolutely adorable and my favorite. I love him, and he deserves literally all the things. I loved how much he opened up during this book. “Adoration and devotion.” 😭😭😭 OKAY TESQ.
Creep was wonderful in this one, as well. He’s hilarious, and I can tell he’s going to be the key to getting these monsters to share. And the body part swapping? I am soooo here for it.
Dev needed what he got. Do I feel bad for him? A little bit, but I also think he needed to be out of commission to see Aliana with the others.
Em. Oh, Em. What are we going to do with you? You get what you get. I hate it for you, but you also definitely deserved it. Just a little. Now, do better.
Okay, I’ve got to go start the next book now. If the first chapter isn’t from Tesq’s POV, I may cry from the anxiety.

Another cliffhanger 😡😡😡 The first and second book could have been condensed into 1 easily. It’s the same as the first book. All drawn out to keep you reading. And then you finish on an awful cliffhanger and have to wait a whole year for the next book. I was going to wait to read this book since I knew it ended on a cliffhanger. However, I’m hoping we get an earlier release if enough people read it. (Though I doubt it since it didn’t happen with this book even though they mentioned it on the FB group.)
So, if you hate cliffhangers don’t read this one yet.
That all aside, my feelings are basically the same as the previous book. I’m glad we got more Tesq and Creep this time around. It’s interesting seeing them all interact and I hope eventually we get the story of how they became the Terrors. That cliffhanger!
It's been a while since I had read the first one, but it didn't take me long to get back into this world with Aliana and her monsters.
Chase is still possessed by the Empty Man and is doing all he can to protect Aliana from Em.
We get to see the relationship between Aliana and Tesq progress and I love how gentle he is with her. He has a lot of confidence issues and she surprises him by being curious about him and there was some seriously spicy moments too!
So much happens in this book, with lower levels monsters threatening to challenge the monsters for their power.
The tension ramps up towards the end of the book and I'm desperate to know what happens next!

Ok see now we’re getting somewhere and actually developing a plot 👏🏻👏🏻
We are spending some quality time together, getting to know each other, even talking about our feelings! Tesq finally does more than grunt and speak in one word sentences, we even get his backstory about why ppl say if you look at his face you will die 😔 Creep keeps things lighthearted (emotionally) and smoking hot 😈Dev keeps being Dev 🙄 and Chase and Em sort of bond 🥹
We find out who the mastermind is behind the threat against the Terrors and the freaking book ends on another cliffhanger 💀
Overlooking the quality of writing, poor grammar and syntax, redundant phrases, and obvious and out of place use of a thesaurus because I had fun reading this book.
Starting the next book immediately.

Awesome read
OK- first off, let me say this - I DON'T read books that do series with the same characters in them - and THIS book is why!!! Loved the quick pace, loved how different each character is, and loved not just the humor - the Creeper is funny!! BUT having to WAIT for book number 3 is going to END me!!! And that is why I don't read series - because waiting for the next installment is torture when you like a book this much - and while it says that the release date may be sooner - the estimated date is January 2024!!!!! ARRRRRGHHH!! Seriously, read them when you know all 3 books are in!! TOTALLY worth it!

No!!!! I love Tesq this cliffhanger is crazy!!! I can’t wait for the third book to come out! I hope we don’t have to wait until January!! I’m not surprised that Creep’s dad is the big bad because I thought his telling Alaina about his past could be foreshadowing because he’s the only one who’s shared so much so fast! I love that Tesq has opened up about his past with her as well! Those two are my favorites for sure! I want to like Dev and EM but it’s hard they’re so closed off and not very friendly with her it’s all about them and not what Alaina wants! I’m hoping they’re different by the end of the series!

Again, what the fuck did I just read?
Were the writers hold up in a cabin for a weekend watching sick Hentai and getting high on mushrooms and peyote? Cause how else can you come up with this weird ass sick shit? Don’t get me wrong. It was entertaining but just weird as hell. One thing that was really beautiful though was all the inner and outer dialogue of the men. It was almost written like poetry with so much feeling and thought and sincerity it was actually beautiful.
Unfortunately, it needed major editing from all the filler. I feel like at least 75% of the book was a whole lot about nothing.

Kept on with this series mainly because I love a good monster trope. While I liked the instant connection, obsessive and possessive monsters. The characters were a bit too obtuse for being these all power beings. The overall book was slow moving and had little direction. Weak world building, weak transitions, and the plot was a bit random and stagnant at points. There was a lot of nothing/filler going on seems like it needed some more editing. Lost my interest/attention. I think the storyline had good potential the execution just wasn’t there. I will not be finishing the series unfortunately.

Listen, the first book was good but this one was even better. I don’t know if you can get any more adorable than Tesq. I get it, he’s a big scary monster but is he really?
Aliana is still a considerable bad ass and I loved seeing her soften a bit to her monsters. The relationship between her, Creep and Tesq is so much fun. I’m hoping the last book shows us more of Dev and Em so that we can grow to love them just as much.
Things are starting to change in the monster run world and it’s not for the better. Lesser monsters are getting wiser and it’s not looking good for the Terrors.
And again with the ridiculous cliffhanger! WHHHHYYYY?!?!

Really enjoyed the second installment! I love watching the relationship between all the characters grow and the ice melt between the all. Sweet Tesq has my heart! I just love watching him slowly accept that he loves Aliana and is slowly chipping away at his stony exterior.
I really appreciate that at the beginning of the book I loathed the empty man and wanted him to die, sorry chase, but by the end they have won me over. I really think Em has earned his penance and deserves a second chance. It’s just too bad Chase has to suffer as well. Chase didn’t really mean anything to me at first but I love him now. I can’t wait to see how this story ends!

I couldn’t stop reading
This book was so good. I waited-which felt like forever for the second book and it did not disappoint me. The author described the terrors emotions perfectly especially how they began to change just for her. They mentioned how she can break them apart but little do they know she empowers them as well. The spice level in the book is a 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 if y’all are interested. The first book has the best spice personally! I can’t wait for book three because I can already tell it’s gonna be gggoooodd!

This series just keeps getting better and better!
I’m loving Aliana and her monsters so much! I love how much closer they’ve gotten since the first book. The Devourer is still possessive and jealous, but I hope after witnessing Aliana with the other guys- he’ll come to realize that sharing is caring 😌
The Empty Man is still an enigma, but I’m hoping the third book reveals more about him.
I honestly wish this book was longer as I feel like I just started reading it. I really hope the next book comes out soon because that cliffhanger is just not fair!

Meh
I tried to read this book but i just couldn’t get into it. There was a lot of disconnections between what the fmc was going through to what actually happened. Missing bits of conversations, it was just not my cup of tea. I did love the multiple povs. It opened up each character in a way that wasn’t portrayed when they were speaking or acting in response to what was going on. Which is the reason why I rated it 3 stars instead of 2. Normally Katie and Ann’s books are incredible but this one I found wasn’t my cup of tea.
