Mary McLane Carson has two lives and two loves. She has time travel mysteries she can't understand, and secrets she can never tell.
In 2015, Pilot Mary McLane Carson struggles with a left engine fire. Her airplane plunges through a strange flash of light, crash-landing into a Kansas field. She wakes up, alone, in December 1942, being cared for by the handsome Dr. Thomas Fleming.

But she must try...
Time Zone is reminiscent of the old black-and-white Twilight Zone series, whose episodes included various genres, such as fantasy, time travel, suspense, and supernatural drama.
Time Zone is a flight of the imagination, a flight of fancy, and a flight into the paranormal.

Life throws a ton of curve balls! Lane Carson and Tom Fleming are just two that caught them!
September 2015… Lane Carson was a pilot for Epic Airlines, divorced, and the mother of young two-year-old Holly. While at a Starbucks, she met Blake Watson. Blake fell instantly in love with Lane, but she had a horrible first marriage and was gun shy about getting involved. Over time Blake wore her down, and they began to develop a loving relationship. Even little Holly fell for Blake, like a duck to water. Lane loved flying and had been doing it since she was twelve, but she also had doubts about being a good mother to Holly. She was leaving today for a flight to Chicago from Denver, but the night before, she had experienced a terrible nightmare about her plane going down, and she was still trying to shake it. Just after taking off, the engine on the left caught fire, and the plane started to nosedive. Lane did everything she had been taught to save the plane; as it headed down, blackness overtook her.
November 1942… Tom Fleming was a young doctor in New York that had married the woman of his dreams, but life stepped in and took her with untreatable leukemia. Afterward, he could not live with the fact that his dear Ann was gone and would not be there for him. When his uncle called and offered him to take over his practice in Kansas, he jumped on it. On his way home after seeing his last patient, a plane crash-landed in a field next to the road. He could see a fire starting, so he rushed over to see if he could do anything. As he entered the plane, he could feel a cold icy finger up his back; the plane was empty. Making his way to the cockpit, he was surprised to find only a single unconscious woman. And the story begins.
What did I like? Elyse and Doug are experts in writing mysterious time travel romance books. For that matter, just writing anything. I have been fortunate enough to be able to read all of their books and was super excited when I received this one. At this point, life stepped in; I fell and severely broke my wrist. Ah, now to catch up, reviewing all the books that I have read but was unable to review due to not being able to type. There are so many I will most likely have to go back to the doctor due to typing pain in the hands!
This book was so exciting; I was captured right from the beginning. My heart broke several times during it, but I was delighted with the ending. The characters are endearing, and the storyline will blow you out of the water. Or, in this case, the "AIR!"
What will you like? The diligence that Elyse and Doug are noted for. The storyline is so precise, and you can see their research on every page. The characters from each side, 2015 and 1942, are spot on! I particularly loved the 1942 era and our dear doctor, Tom. It was a stroke of genius how they managed his seeing Lane again. If you have not had a chance to pick up your copy yet, this is available now, and you are going to love it,
I never miss an Elyse Douglas book, and this one has me tied to my sofa back and forth in over one day! In between meals, I continued reading breathlessly, spellbound and anxious! I really wanted Lane and Tom to stay together, but then there’s her daughter Holly, although I reasoned out that her parents Ted and Wilma would always take over as second parents, but then how about Blake who is loyal and faithful, no matter what? Well, Elyse weaved and kept on weaving her storyline, and my heart ached for Tom, but in the end Lane’s reality could never endure 73 years between them !!! I want more, Elyse, please, please, I can never get enough of time travel penned by you! Thank you for your extraordinary talent, your readers are ever so grateful 👍
A TRAGIC LOVE STORY , yet Several Intertwining and Odd Magical Moments !
Very good plot, as well as as, interesting character development. Novel filled with romance, intrigue, as well as a bit of espionage thrown in for good measure. Very encouraging and well thought-out book. Not unlike other Elyse Douglas novels that I have read, Time Zone has a strong, yet , somewhat complex overall storyline. If time travel is a topic of interest to you, This book is definitely Recommended. A MUST READ !!! I have read other reviews regarding the ENDING of this work. The ending had been "HINTED-AT" all the way back from Chapter 9, pg.93. TIME ZONE: A TIME TRAVEL NOVEL is a great novel and is highly Recommended !!! NOTE : A Coma ??? ... OR WAS IT MORE (?) THAN THAT !!?? pp. 327 , 330
My rating is 2.5. This book had so much potential, but fell short. I love time travel stories and though this book's premise of time travel was intriguing, it came across as a half-baked idea. The storyline was rushed (Tom's approach to Lane's appearance in his life was absolutely unbelievable....within a few weeks he not only trust's her unbelievable story, but marries her!). The characters were somewhat likable, but not at all developed to a point where the reader falls in love with them. There were many aspects of the story that felt forced, such that the author just plugged in arbitrary reasons for unplausible situations in Lane's journey through time travel. This book was an easy read but certainly not clever or even that creative.
As a time travel author myself, I read a lot of books in the genre. This one is particularly well done. Time Zone mixes genres a bit in a most agreeable way. It has all the trapping of a time travel tale, but it’s also a love story. Time travel writers ask the reader to make a leap of faith and accept a premise as truth. The smaller the leap, the better. In Time Zone, the authors keep that leap small and let their characters pick up the action from there. Which brings me to the best part of the book. The best part is the rich characters and the relationships they build. The relationships move at a realistic pace and change in natural ways, and the individual characters are particularly well “fleshed out.” Nicely done, Elyse and Douglas!
Great characters and story. I read it nearly straight through. This isn’t my favorite of their books that I have read, but it was very enjoyable. Strangely, the Doctor character wasn’t all that interesting to me, but he served his purpose. I liked Owen better, but he was really a fairly minor character, more interesting than I found the doctor. Don’t miss this book if you enjoy time travel romances.
Began reading "Time Zone" early this morning, and became so enraptured by the storyline that time itself became meaningless. That's just how involved I became. Alyse Douglas made everything seem so phenomenal that I was totally hooked and could not stop until I finished reading this incredible novel. Thank you Elyse Douglas! I'm not one to give reviews just out of the blue. But you . . . definetely deserve a Five Star rating for "Time Zone!!!"
Time Zone is a perfect blend of mind bending time slips, believable events, and nostalgia. I was thoroughly caught up in the story and couldn’t put it down.
Was the writing perfect? No. Some scenes hopped from one character’s point of view to another, causing me to wonder who was the main character right then. But, for me, those minor issues fell away as I flipped the pages, excited to see what came next.
I enjoyed this book a lot. I had read several other books of hers and they were all very well written (with the one exception of 'The Christmas Town' which I did not care for). It was a far-fetched story (time travel after all, with a big twist) but I was totally engrossed in it. I liked the wrap-up regarding Owen, but wish something had been said about Jigger. I will definitely read more books.
A woman pilot crashes her plane only to find herself in 1942. By a quirk never explained she make more jumps with no explanations of how or why. Along the way romance comes her way. Nice PG story as are most of Elyse Douglas stories. I enjoy them all. 😋
I would like to hear the governments backstory of the future planes that fall into their possession.
Time Zone grabs you in the very beginning and doesn't let go until the very end. Lane is a pilot and while the passenger plane she is flying out of Denver has trouble, Lane travels from 2015 back in time. She finds herself making a life there, but still searching for ways back home. The people she meets and the adventures that follow her are unique and original. I couldn't put it down.
Another riveting time travel novel by Douglas. Mary McLane Carson is a pilot and living a happy life in love and with a young f daughter. On a flight from Denver to Chicago she goes through a time tunnel and ends up in Kansas in 1942. She is rescued by the town doctor and they fall in love, but her time travels aren’t over. In a small plane again, she is transported ahead to 1955. Will she ever make it back to the future? I am loving these books
I mostly enjoyed this book, the characters were very likeable. I felt the ending was rushed, just kind of stuck on quickly. There was one small incident that kind of bugged me. I am not sure what character it was (not an important one) but they referenced a woman and her "identical twin" brother ??, as far as I know that's not possible. Am I being too picky? Overall I did enjoy this book and will continue reading books by this author.
This book is not your usual time travel book. Ms. Douglas has found a new wrinkle and it's wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed her main character's journeys through time and space as well as her personal journeys. It kept me turning pages and left me thinking as all truly good books do.
Didn't want this book to end. I can't believe all that happened to Lane. What a great fascinating story. And yes it is like the twilight zone. I am so glad you guys decided to write this. Hopefully all enjoy a lot more of your books I would recommend this book to eat every member of my family and all my friends
Lane Carson, a commercial pilot crash lands in 1942, the only survivor. Although her plane really made it back home with her in a coma. Did she really live back in 1942 or was it a dream during her coma? Find out in this very well written love story that keeps you fully engrossed till the end.
I really enjoyed Time Zone, the reader soon gets to care about the characters and involved in following their journey. The story is well paced and a very enjoyable read capturing the atmosphere of its locations and times perfectly. Im sorry the novel has ended and I certainly look forward to reading more from Elyse Douglas.
Another great time travel novel by Elyse and Douglas
I loved the way this book kept going back and forth in time. Lane lived a lifetime during her coma. I am sure that people must do that. Wonder if the author had a family experience similar to it. Keep on writing these time travel novels.
Another good story by Elyse Douglas. A female pilot crashes in a Kansas field and finds herself in the 1940s. Will she be able to return to her daughter and fiancé in the future? That is the point of this story.
This novel is an excellent read for a rainy day or any time when you can read uninterrupted. This novel is so well written you won't want to put it down until the very end! I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves time travel stories!
5 because the story is good to the end with a couple good twist! Plenty of emotion and bits of suspense. I'm planning on picking another of her time travel novels now to read next!
Great story, well written, rich settings with lots of details, real characters. Thought provoking plot. Recommend this book and I look forward to reading more stories by this author.
I very much enjoyed this time travel novel & how the author put many different aspects together and successful blended 3 time eras all the while the heroine was in a coma and still have her time travel--what through her dream state??? Impressive!
This is a great story,heart-rending, and then hear warming . I have mixed feelings about the way this ended...there were so many ways to end this story. But,in retrospect I think the authors did a good job.
Elyse Douglas has created an amazing time travel romance with compelling characters you will care about and root for. It is very hard to put this book down because it's so exciting and imaginative.
Just an excellent story. I was drawn in quickly and could not put the book down. I thoroughly enjoyed each page and ran through emotions as if I were part of the story. Great read, highly recommend, thanks for writing it!
Lane was a pilot flying a plane that crashed. When she woke she was in the past. Another flight and she was 10 years into the future. Will she ever get home? I love Elyse Douglas’ books. If you are into time travel you need to read her books.
