Landon Snow's sister Holly does not believe that Landon visited another world last year during their visit to their grandparents' house. Holly orders her life logically, and puts her faith in knowledge and things that can be measured and proven scientifically. Landon's story about talking horses and strange people called Odds is a bit too far-fetched for her. But when Landon dares to take Holly with him to the Button-Up Library after everyone is asleep, he finds that evil forces are afoot. When the pair arrives in Wonderwood, Holly is immediately captivated by Ludo's spell and put to work doing her favorite thing - counting and measuring.
It will take all of Landon's faith - along with the help of his friends Melech the horse, Vates the prophet, former-Odd Hardy, and the beautiful Ditty - to finally defeat Ludo and the evil forces that hold him and many of the others captive in Wonderwood. Is their faith strong enough? Or will evil ultimately prevail?
Landon Snow and the Shadows of Malus Quidam is the second book in the Landon Snow series. These stories take Biblical truths and portray them through a fantasy world of books and magical creatures. Landon is a strong character - although he's young, he knows what he believes and is able to put his beliefs into practice. The characters are not without their weaknesses, but that makes them more realistic and readers will relate to them better because of it.
The plot is quite engaging, but one thing that would really enhance these stories would be a few illustrations. There are small illustrations at the beginning of every chapter, but some throughout the story could cause even more excitement. The Scripture quotes are all from the King James Version, which may make it difficult for some to comprehend exactly what the author is trying to convey. Otherwise, Landon Snow and the Shadows of Malus Quidam is thrilling, entertaining, and a great addition to the series. It's wonderful to have a fantasy series written specifically for Christians, yet the books are non-threatening, not preachy and should appeal to all who love a good fantasy story.

The book Landon snow the shadows of Malus Quidam by R.K.Mortenson is a great book. the book is about this boy named Landon and his sister named holly.They go to the enchanted world of wonder wood. There Landon fights against Ludo and his odds. Along with his friends Vates,Hardy,Ditty and his horse Mealch they save his sister,free the odds and destroy the shadows of Malus Quidam.
The best part of this book is when Landon and his sister Holly are almost in Wonderewood. When they get to the library and find talking books.And shadows. I like this part because it is funny how the books talk to Landon and his sister. I don't think there is really anything wrong about this book. i like all of it. one thing i would change is the ending. it happens so quickly that you aren't sure if that's the end of the book or not. i still think it was a awesome book and i definetly would recomend it.

I got books 2-5 on clearance from Christian Books Distributors because I thought they might be good books for my nephew, but I wanted to check them out first. Unfortunately, I don't think this is a series you can just jump into. While reading it there were just so many world building questions and too many times it eludes to the first story. Other than that I thought it was a pretty good story with lots of fantasy and action. I guess I'll just keep an eye out for the first book before sending these on to my nephew.

Landon must save his sister Holly from the shadows and from Ludo. This book picks up the pace quite a bit; it reminds me of how quickly the plot in Prince Caspian moves. There are a few places I had to reread because the wording was a little confusing. I think the only thing that is weird is the interaction between Landon and Ditty. Sometimes it feels that in Wonderwood Landon is actually more of a teenager/early adult age rather than eleven. Him, regarding the Auctor, is not always capitalized.

This is a very good christian book and is a little bit creepy. Malus Quindam is a shadow. it is like a demon and it grows and grows and makes everything cold you might not know that the shadow is there.

This book was very interesting! It's very scary, so i wouldnt read it if you are easily spooked.
