Let's start off with a truth, completely unacknowledged by far too many people. I think this is one of the most underrated, underacknowledged, under... KNOWN series out there.

Let's look at the "hoarders" in the series. There's all kinds! A rich gal with more shoes than sense (but not cents)? Yep! An average Jane who piles on the junk to fill a hole in her heart that the junk just falls right through? Yep! A gal who... yeah. She hoards... but she doesn't at the same time.

Then you have the messed-up folks in the series. Nikki? Yep. Her mom? Yep. Her employer? Uh, huh. Some of her friends? Mmm-hmm... One of the beautiful things the series shows is that no matter how diverse a culture might be from your own, no matter what the cultural differences may mean in how people live everyday lives, people are also very much alike at the core. We have similar core needs, desires, hopes, and dreams. As well as fears, foibles, and frustrations (just a little alliteration to go with the series and book title. Hee hee).

Glimpses into Chinese culture show more than just what we "all know" but also why and things we thought we knew that we didn't. Liana George didn't shy away from the hard stuff. She didn't sanitize truth. But she definitely did fill the story with hope and justice.

And at the end of the day, that makes for a great story in my book.

Happy to give it five, heartwarming stars. Anxious to read the next.

This book is a sequel and I would highly recommend reading Perfectly Arranged first. In this novel, Nicki has a very strong attachment to an orphan, Lei Ming. I am sure the reason for that attachment was presented in the first novel, one I have not read.

I found Nicki an unusual character. She has had a career as an organizer yet I found her quite naive. It is not until over three quarters of the way through the novel that Nicki finally begins to put together the very obvious evidence. The perpetrator of the nefarious acts was no surprise. I just could not understand why Nicki did not see what was happening with the blatant opposition to organizing and wrong financial claims.

The strong aspect of this novel was the setting. We get a good idea of the legal system in China, such as how easy it might be to get arrested. We also find out quite a bit about the adoption process as well. I was a little surprised at the resolution to the adoption problems and the abrupt novel ending.

This is a novel for readers who would like to get a good immersion into the Chinese culture. While I had some issues with the character presentation and the novel's end, I did enjoy the emphasis on trusting God for the future and the novel in general.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.

Wow.
This story has so many amazing elements. Obviously, the author takes us back to beautiful China, while not hiding some of the uglier aspects of that culture. There were twists and turns I did not expect, but that kept me turning the page to find out what might happen next. And the more I read this series, the more I love the characters and root for them. Can't wait to find out what happens in the third book!

Perfectly Placed is the sequel to Perfectly Arranged. These books MUST be read in order! You'll be glad that you did.

In this book, we follow Nicki as she travels back to China to save the orphanage's funding. We get to see several characters from the first book, Ben and Julia especially.

Nicki has a lot of work cut out for her to bring the orphanage up to modern-day standards but as an organizer, she's confident she'll be able to complete the task and secure the funding. Unfortunately, her well-laid plans get tossed out the window as she is met with hurdle after hurdle.

As with the first book, I really appreciate the author's attention to detail with China and the Chinese culture. You feel as if you are visiting China yourself!

I also love the way that mental illness is handled with Nicki's mom, who suffers from hoarding. This book puts Nicki through so many trials, my heart ached for her. Throughout the book, Nicki is trying to rely on her expertise and skills instead of on God. I loved watching her grow in her faith as she learned to turn the big things over to God.

The ending was simply beautiful!! It was wrapped up enough to make you feel you left at a good spot, but it set the scene for the third book.

**I received an arc of this book for my honest review.

This sequel to Perfectly Arranged sees professional organizer Nicki Mayfield back in Asia to sort out the operations of the New Hope orphanage in order to qualify for international funding. Along the way, Nicki battles disorganization, potential sabotage, and cross-cultural misunderstandings that threaten her work. This is likely one of the few series I’ve come across that tackles the issue of hoarding and its roots while exploring the emotions of how it feels to be out of control in life. I appreciate that the author treats this condition with empathy without minimizing its impact on others. As a result, Nicki ends up turning to God even more when she’s out of her depth in her professional life at the orphanage and her personal life with her family.

Anyone looking for a book that shows the realities of international adoption, especially for children with special needs, will find that Liana George brings this world to life. It's a world fraught with complications, desperation, and darkness as a result of the One Child Policy. Navigating an intercultural setting that challenges the characters' faith, this is a series that is not to be missed in terms of how Westerners can relate to Easterners. The more time I spent with the children of New Hope and the tremendous friends that Nicki made, the more I wanted to view this story as a movie. Readers looking for a little girl to fall in love with at the orphanage while getting to know a woman who earnestly seeks God in the midst of many trials will see how everything is perfectly placed and orchestrated in God’s way as mysteries are untangled and faith is exercised.

I received this book directly from the author at no cost to me. I want to write a review on an exceptional book that kept me gripped into the pages through the entire read. This is the story about a young woman from the U.S. who goes to China to organize the affairs of an orphanage that the company she works for provides the bulk of funding for. It becomes obvious there is a previous book which the people and places in this book were introduced. While I did not have that background the author was ingenious to change the interactions of two individuals who must have been main characters in the first book so that this book's developing it's own storyline. Providence, her own insecurities and learning to trust, her deep love for a child with great medical needs, a person cooking the books that tries to stop her every step of the way, but deep, abiding friendships in Christ that help make everything possible for her attempts to finish her goal. It is an amazing story that pulled my heart strings, and pulled me into the story. I felt like I was in China with her. I highly recommend this series. Three books. I now intend to read the other two.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I really had fun reading Perfectly Placed, book 2 in The Hopeful Heart Series. I read book one, Perfectly Arranged when it released and I fell in love with Nicki and New Hope Orphanage. I could not wait to read this one and it did not disappoint! When Nicki returns to China to restore order at New Hope Orphanage and re-connect with the little girl who stole her heart, things were not what she expected. With everything in an uproar, Nicki had more than she bargains for.

With characters to bring the story to life, Nicki has challenges and twists and turns that were difficult for her to figure out. At time I felt like it was there alongside Nicki and the other characters trying to help them. Author Liana George, does a fabulous job writing this book. I think her  writing style is phenomenal, and I can’t wait for the next book. I love the details of China, and I think the fact that Liana George has lived in China gives her the perfect insite to explain each scene with such details. I also like that faith runs through the lives of the characters so well. If you love organizing or you need help with it, this book has a lot of tips that may help you, after all Nicki is a great  organizer . I sure need this part of the book. I encourage you to pick up a copy of this book and read it. I think you will find you love it!

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

I don't think you'll be disappointed when you read Perfectly Placed. Liana George draws us into China with her main character Nicki Mayfield using first person present tense. Each chapter begins with a Chinese proverb, and as Nicki pursues her goals, we learn about China and Chinese culture along with her.

Nicki is a professional organizer and is accustomed to taking care of herself, but she's learning ask for help when she needs it and trust God to handle the circumstances she can't control. Her goals in returning to China are clear, but achieving them is proving to be a challenge, especially because of opposition from AD Chang, the assistant director of New Hope, the fact that Nicki cannot read or write Mandarin, and Nicki lacks understanding Chinese law. Everyone needs a friend like Julia and a guy like Ben to stand in your corner when the going gets tough and it seems success is impossible.
But Nicki won't give up.

And then there's Nicki's mother, a hoarder, who Nicki loves dearly although she finds her thoroughly frustrating, and the Chinese toddler Lei Ming with the heart condition who has stolen Nicki's heart. By the end of the book Nicki makes some important discoveries and some life changing decisions.

Perfectly Placed is a wonderful book. I recommend you read the first book in the series, Perfectly Arranged, if you haven't done so already.

I received a digital ARC of this book with no expectation of return. The opinions and comments above are my own.

"I know who Jesus is, and I believe in His promises and the plans He has. Even in the direst situations, I can rest in that truth and not be shaken."

Nicki is a professional organizer. She finds herself back in China and tasked with helping an orphanage to streamline its systems and paperwork. But the process does not prove to be easy. Can she stay the course even when roadblocks develop?

I appreciated the fact that this book shows that God can use our gifts and abilities in ministry even if they are uncommon. If you struggle with clutter, this book contains tips as a part of the plot. I liked the fact that the emphasis was placed on relationships over stuff.

The Chinese connection is also important. Since the author lived in the country for some time, I feel like that adds authenticity to the book. The Chinese proverbs at the beginning of each chapter add an interesting insight to the Chinese thought process. At the end of the book, details are provided to explain certain parts that the readers might find hard to understand. The Chinese culture is honored rather than diminished in this book.

There are two plot points that involve a bit of mystery. I do think the reader can predict parts. But still it was interesting to read how the situations will resolve. There was one part that I did not see coming.

This is book two in a series. I definitely think that the titles need to be read together in order to fully make sense. Too many details are revealed in the first book that are necessary to understand this book. Some of the plot points that happen in the end of this book would have bothered me had I not known that there would be a book three. Part of the storyline felt a bit rushed, but now that I know that the details will be explained in the next book, it makes sense.

I love the cover of this book as I think it perfectly reflects the storyline. On a side note, I also love the fact that the author is donating a portion of the proceeds toward a mission that reflects the main organization in the book. While these details are not reflective of the text, they do increase my appreciation for this book.

I was provided with a copy of this book as a part of a book tour. All opinions are my own. I read the
first book in the series, and I wanted to read this one.

I love being able to travel to other places without leaving my home. The author does a great job of making me feel like I was in China as she described the cuisine and laws that some may find hard to accept. There has been news stories about orphanages in China and the need for funds and workers. I was very captivated by our main character because of her heart for children.

Nicki has a big task ahead of her as she returns to New Hope Orphanage. Waiting for her is a job of organizing papers, offices and trying to find out where the money is disappearing to. She is not well received by the Assistant Director and it was hard to like this character. She was brash, power hungry and disrespectful. I had a feeling that I knew someone was hiding something but the question is why?

Nicki does have some setbacks that cause her to question why she is there. I can’t imagine being arrested in a foreign country and feeling hopeless. Within the pages of the story are several lessons we can all learn from. I was shaking to my core when one character was so crass when mocking Nicki and her beliefs. There was a mention of “just throw up a few prayers,” like it was useless anyway. What struck me about this character was how deceitful she was in order to better her child’s life. She had no regard for the children she was suppose to be watching over. It is the scripture, “the love of money is the root of all evil,” that runs rampant in this persons heart.

With everything that Nicki is facing she ponders “what it would like to simply trust in God’s provision.” We face situations everyday where we wonder how we will pay a bill, or will our loved one be healed. What we forget to do is pray and be faithful to His Word. We don’t know the plans He has for us but as he unveils them to us we need to listen and follow His direction. Will you obey God when He shows you where you are to be “perfectly placed?”

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

While Perfectly Placed is the second book in this series, this is the first book by Liana George I have read. And I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a different plotline than I was used to, which was a nice change of pace. I also really loved getting to know the characters and I liked that it was set in China.

The one drawback is that I really wish I had read the first book before I read this one. Not because reading the second book first is confusing without reading the first one, but because I really want to see more of Nicki's and Lei Ming's relationship and know how it developed.

Other than that, I would recommend this novel. Nicki is a sweet soul who has a heart for the orphanage and just wants to see it succeed, and is willing to do anything to ensure that happens. She has a small, but strong, support system. These include Ben, a strong Christian who is willing to help Nicki with whatever she needs. Same with Julia, Nicki's translator. Julia has such a kind heart and wants to be there for Nicki.

The story line had me turning the pages the most. While somewhat predictable, I was curious to see how they figured out what was going on with the orphanage. The orphanage's financial situation seems off, and Nicki is determined to find out why and what's really going on behind the scenes. It was interesting, and like I said, different from what I had read before. So I would highly recommend this novel.

I had received a copy of the book as part of the Celebrate Lit Blogging Team and was required to give an honest review.

I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to read and review this book! I have only good things to say!

First, as others have said, this is the second book in a trilogy. I have not read the first one (although I plan to go back and pick it up), and had no difficulty following the plot and pre-existing relationships. I do think, if you haven't read any of this series, it would be more enjoyable to start with the first one.

The main character of Nicki was great! She is written with a lot of detail and personality, and I enjoyed seeing what she would do next. She felt like a real person I could sit down and have a conversation with. I loved how her personal faith really guides her as she makes decisions and tackles challenges. I found her attitude very inspirational.

The book is mostly set in China, and it was great go read more about the places and institutions there. The author has obviously done a lot of research, because everything was very detailed and realistic.

Definitely an emotional and inspirational story!

Full disclosure: I read this book first, knowing it was the 2nd in a series, and believe I did myself a disservice in doing so. I feel like I would have been able to appreciate it more if I had actually read the books in order.

But still--

I very much enjoyed this novel. I felt a connection to the characters immediately, especially Nicki and Julia, and loved the Chinese proverbs at the beginning of every chapter. The Chinese culture was well represented and the author did a stunning job creating a setting that drew me in from the moment I began to read. The absolute best thing about this book, however, was the very believable-- and very powerful-- portrayal of Nicki's faith.

This novel is a testament to God's perfect timing in an imperfect, messy world, and I strongly encourage everyone to find strength and inspiration within its pages.

It was a quick read for me, and I can't wait to go back and catch up with the first book. This was the first thing I've ever read by Liana George but it definitely won't be the last! I'm so happy to have found this series and look forward to the next story ❤️

Contemporary Christian Women's Fiction Books are one of my favorite genres to read. Perfectly Placed by Liana George is the most recent book from this genre that I have read. It is Book 2 in the Hopeful Hearts series. I have not read Book 1, YET. I do feel for this series it might help to read this series in order to get the whole feel for the story, but I also didn't have too much trouble following along.

Nicki Mayfield just returned from a trip to China and she is anxious to go back. She feels she still has some work to complete over there and heads back to China only 6 weeks after returning home. One of the tasks at hand for her is to get New Hope Orphanage out of Chaos and get them organized. Upon going through stacks of paperwork she discovers financial disarray. The Supervisior of the Orphanage isn't too kind to Nicki and it causes struggles. Nicki also encounters her own tragedy while in China and wonders if she is of value to the Orphanage. Nicki also is wanting to reconnect with a little girl who she befriended on her first trip to China. Nicki is getting very discouraged with all the "roadblocks" she is encountering. She gets help from an unexpected person that could be life-altering. Will Nicki get the Chaos at the Orphanage under control? How will Nicki's life change after this second visit to China?

I was intrigued by this book from the very first chapter. I found Nicki to be a strong independent woman with a caring heart. She really wanted to see the Children at the Orphanage to be cared for properly and it concerns her when money is missing from the records. I LOVE her connection with the little Girl, Lei Ming. Nicki really had to rely on her faith and prayer to overcome so much throughout the book. I had never read any books by Liana George, but I am very excited to read this entire series. I plan on going back and reading Book 1 and looking forward to future books in this series. FANTASTIC BOOK!

I enjoyed this book so much that I went online and ordered the previous book in the series. This is an engaging story about a woman who traveled to China and was tasked to straighten out the financials of an orphanage. There is mystery (missing funds), love (for one of the young orphans), drama (trying to find order in the orphanage chaos), and faith (the main character is a Christian).

I thought the way in which the book was written made it very easy to read. It was very hard to find a stopping point (which I usually do at the end of a chapter). The author made the characters very believable. It was refreshing to have the main character sometimes show anger. That seems to be an emotion that is not often shown by females in a faith-based story, though you know they have to get angry sometimes.

I will definitely be reading more by this author…more than just the prequel that I already ordered.

Are you ready for an adventure?

I’ve never been to China but I feel like I have been now. At least to this orphanage. I enjoyed my visit for sure! This is book two in a series so make sure you grab Perfectly Arranged first and read it before you read this one.

In Perfectly Placed we travel back to China to the orphanage where Nicki is set to organize and conquer! But the kicker is someone doesn’t want her to and things start going wrong. So what to do what to do?

I enjoyed going to China and seeing what it’s like. I have cousins who adopted a little boy from an orphanage in China and I love comparing their experience with this one. Plus I love feeling like I’ve been to China and experienced some of their cultures.

We also get to see characters from the first novel back in this one. The book does end up in such a way to let you know that there will be book three coming and I’m here for it.

Nicki is a great character and I loved getting to know her better and can’t wait for the next one!

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. Such an enjoyable read! This is Book 2 in George's Hopeful Heart Series and the continuing story of professional organizer, Nicki Mayfield. Nicki is in for quite an adventure as she battles to keep a struggling orphanage afloat. I enjoyed learning more of the Chinese culture and especially the spiritual messages woven into the storyline. The writing flows so naturally you feel you know Nicki personally. I look forward to the next installment in the series!

Perfectly Placed is the second installment from Liana George’s Hopeful Heart series. I have not read the first book in the series, Perfectly Arranged, but feel that it would have been best to start the series with book one. After trying to catch up with happened previously, I enjoyed reading Nicki’s story and thought it was a pretty read. It had a lot going on – mystery, suspense, adventure, twists and turns. It, also, played a lot on my emotions at times. I liked it.

I am giving Perfectly Placed four stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean and inspiring fiction. I look forward to the next book from the Hopeful Heart series to see what happens next.

I received a digital copy of Perfectly Placed from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Liana George has done it again. If it’s possible Perfectly Placed is even better than the first of the series. George gives a little more romance and a lot more challenges for Nicki to overcome in this sequel.
Nicki returns to China and we learn more about our favorites from Perfectly Arranged—Julia, Mrs. O’Conner, and Lei Ming.
I couldn’t put it down just when I thought it would be safe to take a break, George would throw in a curve ball. Loved it from page one to the end.
Grab your copy and let the adventures begin!

What a wonderful book. This book had some interesting twists and turns. There was several times it helped me reflect on my relationship with Christ. Many great quotes! Nicki and her friend, Julia, have a mystery to solve so they can save precious children. This book picks up right were Perfectly Arranged left off. I would highly recommend this heart warming book.

Nicki Mayfield works for an organization in the United States that provides funds to an orphanage in China. She has recently returned to China and the new Hope Orphanage to make sure that the records are in order and repairs are made. Missing paperwork and money plus as assistant director who stonewalls her add to her problems. Also there is a little girl who has stolen her heart. I love that the book incorporates some of the traditions and culture of China. The characters are wonderful. It's a story about hope, faith, determination, and strength. The book is beautifully written and I highly recommend it!

I was very surprised by this book. It came across as a gentle reminder that all things are possible with God. Nicki faces a world that is completely different than the one she knows. Tasked with a seemingly impossible task she lets love and compassion show her the way. Written with a gentle push towards acknowledging God's presence in our lives Perfectly Placed is a heart warming story that most will relate to.

This book is the second in the series and I think it really should be read in order to understand different aspects. I liked Nicki. She was a really good character who absolutely adores a little girl and wants what is best for her.

I have to say that there was a lot about Chinese culture that I didn’t know or understand and this book was a good one to give me information (not it’s intent but I enjoyed that aspect of it). Nicki has a lot going on and I mean it is just a lot! The orphanage in and of itself but then her mom too. I liked how the author handled that.

4/5

Perfectly Placed is a great read! In Liana George's second novel, she has moved to a new level of engagement and originality of story line.
Main character, Nicki Mayfield continues her adventure in China, every new twist and turn had me eager to read more with each page. I definitely can not wait for book 3 to see how it all ends for these wonderful characters and the world they live in.

Nicki Mayfield has a heart for New Hope Orphanage in China, and especially for a little girl, Lei Ming. This particular orphanage deals with children who have heart defects and Nicki wants to do all in her power and the authority given to her by her boss to make sure this place is up and running for years to come. And as a professional organizer she has a limited amount of time to get files organized and make sure everything is running properly. However, from the very first day she steps in she is met with opposition that she will uncover that shows her some serious problems and corruption.

This was an interesting story as the author really brought us in to the Chinese culture from their holidays to a bit how their government is run, and how even they seem view Americans. This story also touches a bit on the serious mental disorder of hoarding along with the sick children issue in China.

The story had many twists and turns in Nicki's way. She grows and begins relying much more on her faith. The ending was nice and a bit unexpected and I hope leads to a third book in this series.

I was provided a copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

Perfectly Placed creates the perfect mixture of faith, orphans, and Godly people trying to do the right thing. Nicki Mayfield, six weeks after leaving China, finds herself back in China trying to complete tasks at the New Hope Orphanage in order to save its funding and reconnect with a little girl who stole her heart. The director of the orphanage suffers an injury which causes Nicki to deal with the Assistant Director. The assistant seems determined to see Nicki fail.

I loved watching how the faith of various individuals in this story illustrates how God sometimes puts people in our paths to help us along His way in our lives. Also, this book shows how sometimes we desire answers immediately and in our preconceived ways, while God’s timing and ways differ.

As various facts came to light in this story, I found myself unable to put it down. So if you enjoy stories about orphans, faith, and God’s power and love, check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

This is the second in a series, and if you haven’t read Perfectly Arranged, you’re going to want to do that. You could read Perfectly Placed without it, but the story is going to be much richer if you read book one first. Plus, you’ll have a better understanding of the characters. And you definitely want to know the characters. Just like us, they all have flaws. But Nicki and her friends want to be better people than they were the day before and they also want to follow God a little more each day.

I can’t imagine trying to complete a job in a country where language and customs were a barrier, especially not a task with the life and death ramifications Nicki’s job has. But Nicki has committed to it, and she wants to see it through. It’s an experience that grows Nicki as a person and in her faith, and we as readers get to join her on the trip. I can’t wait to see where the third book in the series is going to take Nicki. I give this book five stars. I received a copy of this book through Celebrate Lit. The reviews and opinions are my own.

This was a first book of this author that I read and I really enjoyed it. I was captivated from the very first scene of the Chinese New Year celebrations to the deep friendship between Nicki and Julie as well as the rich culture feel that the book spoke about throughout. I loved the relationship between Nicki and the little girl as well as the wonderful characters of Director Wu and Mrs. Osborne. The mystery, suspense and storylines were intriguing and kept me reading. This was a wonderful book and I’m glad to see it’s a series and not a standalone.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit but was not under any obligation to write a review. All opinions are strictly mine.

I felt immediately plunged into the story but a little lost. I didn’t realize before starting that this was the second book in the series so I recommend reading the novels in order. This tale takes readers to China and the world of orphans and includes a strong suspense element. The author did a great job making the drama come alive and helping readers experience China and gain insights from an American’s perspective. The characters seem authentic and the action realistic. The story is compelling and makes the reader care what happens to the people involved. So join Nicki Mayfield, who travels to China to help fix things at New Hope Orphanage. Several subplots add to the intriguing tale. I think this would make a good one for a book club discussion and a helpful one for travelers to read before going to China. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.
