When life gives you limes, you float in your newly built pool with a pitcher of frozen margaritas—to keep up your strength. That’s all Peg Darrow wanted on a rare Friday night off. Sadly, an out-of-town vampire with a big ask and an even bigger ultimatum didn’t get the memo. Now, Peg has the unenviable task of breaking a goblin out of a vampire den or her aunt is going to suffer.
With her goblin boyfriend out of town and the vampire’s warning about not involving her boss, the Arizona witch sheriff, Peg is left with limited resources to perform the impossible task. Luckily, she has a best friend with a background in explosives, but even if she can rescue the goblin, she’s not sure that she has the stomach to turn them over to another captor, or what the goblins would do if they found out.
Secrets abound as Peg works to rescue her aunt and not betray the goblins. The metaphorical stakes are only raised higher once Peg finds out what the interloping vampire truly wants, and who the vampire is actually afraid of. An unknown power lurks at the Opium Den, and they are after an even greater prize.
Another great book in a series that is fast becoming one of my favourites. A well written storyline with lots of action scenes. So good I couldn't put it down! I can't wait until the next book and see if they manage to finally get rid of the curse on all witches. Highly recommend.
I enjoyed this book so much! The main character is one of my favorite of all time. There are a lot of possibilities set up in this book so I hope there is another.
