This was a very sweet story. Adelaide Is back at the Mountain Ridge Resort for her sisters wedding. Her last memories here weren’t the best but she doesn’t want to ruin it for her sister. Samuel is punishing himself living his life as a recluse in the mountains. Hiding from his family, he finds Adelaide after she had been caught in the storm. Fate brought them together but would love give them a future? A great storyline and lovable characters. I would definitely recommend this book.

Fabulous, I absolutely love this one. It was a nice, quick, short read.
Samuel meets Adelaide when she gets separated from going hiking with her sister's wedding party. Samuel finds her and takes her back to his cabin. She wakes to a sloppy kiss from his dog, Lucky, she can't open her eyes and forces herself. Adelaide isn't sure where she is so she goes to explore finding him chopping wood. He finds out who she is, he grabs her some clothes, and then something to eat. Samuel finds an old radio and tries to call for help but no one answers. He leaves her to do some work in the back yard, when he is done he finds her in the kitchen making dinner, he hasn't had a home cooked meal since he lived with Mama Mae. Adelaide tells him to take a shower while she finished up with the salad. When he's done with his shower he heads back out the door, not even stopping when she asks him if he wants dinner. She makes herself a plate and eats, then cleans up, she tries the radio again and gets the sheriff, he tells her they can't get her out but keep the radio on. She goes to find him in the back shed, she see the wooden furniture in the corner and admires it. She asks him if he made it and he tells her it's a hobby. He steps in front of her taking her by her hips and pulling her close to him and kisses her. He lifts her onto the workbench and settles between her legs. He gathers her in his arms and carries her to his bed, he lays her down and hovers over her. She asks him if he wants her, he asks her isn't it obvious, she tells him he can have her but he has to tell her why he walked out. He tells her it was nothing, she tells him not to lie to her. He tells her she happened, he a loner, he's never had problems keeping his needs under control until her. He tells her he aches for her, he pushes her over the edge, she slides his pants off him. Her fingers brushes the tip of him, he tells her he can't get enough of her. He asks her if she is sure this is what she wants, she tells him yes and he tells her his mouth has been watering for her. He pushes into her diving deep into her, she tells him she can't take anymore, then they both crash over the edge. He knows he needs to tell her the truth on who he is. She asks him how he ended up on the mountain all alone, he tells her it's a long story. She tells him she has time, then he tell her about his time in the army. They hear a loud crackling sound and he gets up to see what it is, the sheriff radio to let them know he's sending a chopper to check the water levels and it can pick her up. Adelaide asks him to come to the wedding with her, he tells her he can't. She asks him why not, when he tells her he can't stand in front of his brother and the woman who raised him. She suddenly realizes he's the best man, she asks him how he knows about the wedding. He tells her his mail finally caught up with him, she asks him doesn't he think it's time he let them know he's okay. He tells her he can't what happened between them was magic but he's not a happy ever after guy. Watching her leave in the chopper was the hardest thing he's ever done. Hours later he's chopping a pile of wood, he hears a familiar voice asking if this is where he's been hiding. Of course Adelaide would tell Tyson, the groom where to find Samuel. Tyson tells him Mama Mae tried to talk him into tossing her on the back of the dirty bike so she could give him a hug. Samuel tell him it probably wasn't easy to stop her, Tyson tells him Adelaide is waiting for him too. Tyson talks to him telling him what happened wasn't his fault, anyone would have made the same call he did. Samuel tells Tyson to give Mama Mae a kiss and tell Adelaide he's sorry. Adelaide watches her sister, Jules getting ready for her big day. Adelaide hears a familiar voice asking if he can walk with her, she hears her sister saying you came. When she turns she sees Samuel hugging her sister, then he takes his place. She asks him what changed his mind and he tells her Tyson said something to him yesterday to live life to the fullest, he tells her he wants to do that with her. She kisses him and tells him yes she wants that too. He tells her he loves her and she tells him she loves him too. After the reception she asks him where he plans on staying, he tells her it depends on her, his neighbor is going to look after Lucky for the next few days. She tells him she doesn't want Lucky to be lonely, he tells her he gets it he'll be back in the morning for brunch. She tells him that's not what she meant, she'll grab a bag so she can come with him, she's not letting him out of her sight. Samuel gives Tyson and Jules a piece of land to build their cabin. Adelaide is moving her business to be with her mountain man, with her connections she is showcasing his pieces. They lay out on the deck in the lounger looking at the stars. A million stars sparkle over them he makes love to the woman who held his heart, the woman he didn't hope for, the woman who brought him back to life.

Adelaide Frost is stuck spending a week in the mountains to attend her sister’s wedding. Wearing the worst choice of “hiking” boots ever, she heads out with her sister Jules and her fiancé Tyson for a short hike in the mountains. She used to love this resort, but bad memories of her mom’s fight with cancer here took away all the joy. They were now trying to get a hike in before the oncoming storm. Adelaide stopped when she got temporary cell reception to check her emails in case she needed to answer some of them. She told her sister to go ahead and she would catch up. But the storm unfortunately didn’t wait for her to finish.
Samuel had gone to town for supplies, but the storm arrived sooner than expected and the creek was washed out. As he pushed through the rain, he saw a woman’s body. She was alive, but he had to get her to shelter. He carried her to his cabin and checked for injury, noting her swollen ankle and the inappropriate hiking boots. He iced her sprained ankle, but there was nothing more to do for her until the storm ended. He needed to get her back to the resort before she figured out who he really was.
This was a good story line that was well-paced. Two people who really needed each other met through a bad storm. When Samuel left the military, all he wanted to do was isolate himself and cut off all family ties. Adelaide had painful memories of watching her mom die on their last vacation to this resort. Both filled with pain, but being together might be what they both needed. Grab your copy and find out how their story resolves.
Under the Stars. Fantastic story. Samuel has been living in the mountains of Virginia hiding from everyone he knows since he got out of the military. After a mission where two of his brothers died under his watch he couldn’t bring himself to face anyone. When he finds the gorgeous woman out in the woods he knows everything is about to change but, can he let her know who he is? Adelaide has no idea where she is upon waking up the next morning or who the rather large man is. She doesn’t understand why he is keeping his distance from her and she wants to know. Samuel tells Adelaide it’s because of her. He wants to keep her with him but, he’s afraid that she’s going to leave when he explains why he’s out there. In the process she learns that Samuel is the best man and brother of the groom for her sister’s wedding. The one who had never replied to the invitation or request to be best man to her maid of honor role. When a helicopter is sent to retrieve Adelaide she asks him to come with her to the wedding. He can’t, he says and watches her go. Samuel gets a visit from his brother hours later and he attempts to talk some sense into him. He sends an apology for Adelaide with him as he leaves. As the bride prepares to walk down the aisle Adelaide takes her place in front of her when she hears a very familiar voice beside her. He’s here! Will Samuel stay or is he going to run back up the mountain after the ceremony? Samuel doesn’t think he belongs among the living. Can Adelaide change his mind and help heal him?.

I received this ebook ARC, from the author, on the condition that I write an honest review. This is the continuation of The One Night series. This time it’s the story of Samuel, a mountain man, and his true love, Adelaide. Samuel is another man raised by Mama Mae. A group of incredible men raised by an incredible woman. Adelaide is mountain climbing with her sister, her sister’s fiancé, and the rest of the wedding party. Distracted by her cell phone, she falls back from the rest of the group. She gets lost, and injures her ankle. Samuel is returning from town, and finds Adelaide lying on the ground. He takes her to his lonely cabin, and takes care of her. Samuel feels an immediate attraction to Adelaide, but feels unworthy of her. He has served in the Armed Forces, and experienced the loss of two of his buddies, and because of his guilt, he is self sacrificing his life. Samuel and Adelaide both feel the attraction, and eventually begin a relationship. He tells Adelaide his story of guilt, and she attempts to change his mind, without success. She is rescued to return in time for her sister’s wedding Samuel’s brother goes to the cabin to talk to him. The talk has succeeded, and Samuel attends the wedding, as Adelaide’s partner, and the couple achieve their HEA. I love these stories, written by Eve London, because they are short, concise, and include a romance, and some angst. She does a good job of getting the readers hooked on her books. I recommend this great book.
His one-way ticket out of darkness This book is about Adelaide and Samuel. And a child, she loved to spend time at the Mountain Ridge Resort with he family. However, ever since they lost her mum and she had to take on more adult responsibilities, the lure had faded. So while she’s there for her little sister Jules’ wedding, she’s not really that enthusiastic about being there. Jules’ fiancée Tyson was meant to have his brother Samuel there as his best man. He’d sent an invitation, and was just hoping he’d show up for the occasion. As part of the wedding party celebrations, they were headed for a hike in the beautiful woods. But Adelaide got herself lost and injured in the process. It was Samuel who actually found and rescued her – though she had no real idea about who he was exactly. Their attraction was ridiculously strong and chemistry magnetic. So despite what they thought might be best, they couldn’t stay away from each other – until he forced the issue and messed things up a little bit… It was a sad (at times) but sweet and loving story, with wonderful main characters. And I always love reading about Mama Mae and her boys – though I wish there was more about them seeing each other again in this one. I give this book four and a quarter stars. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Samuel had lost two men in Afghanistan and blamed himself. He bought property in the Virginia mountains and lived a solitary life. This changed when Adelaide came into his life.
She had been on a hike and got separated from the others. She was lost. Then the rain came and she turned her ankle and fell. Samuel found her and took her to his cabin and tended her swollen ankle.
She fell for her handsome savior and he fell for the beautiful woman. When she told him who she was, he knew exactly who she was. Her sister Julie was marrying his foster brother Tyson. Tyson had sent him an invitation and wanted him to be his best man.
Adelaide was picked up by the sheriff and he was followed by Tyson. He talks to Samuel and tells him what happened was not his fault and their former comrades would not want Samuel shutting himself away.
Adelaide was surprised to see Samuel in a tux as he comes to walk the maid of honor down the aisle at her sister’s wedding. They plan to become a couple.
Adelaide is a city girl through-and-through. Her sister is having her wedding in the mountains so she begrudgingly goes. On a hike, she gets into an accident and is saved by a big, burly mountain man. They spend one steamy night together... But it's not enough for either of them.
"I’d come to the mountains with a heavy heart, afraid to face the memories of my past. I’d be leaving with a heart full of new experiences with the promise of new memories to be made. If Samuel had taught me anything so far, it was that there was room in my heart for both."
I thought this was really cute, albeit a tad boring. Three stars!
important bits: no virgins no OM/OW no cheating safe HEA and epilogue ♡

Adelaide has a career in New York, and does not have time to be going to a destination wedding. Her sister is having it at Mountain Ridge Resort, the last vacation spot her mother went on before she died. It does not have fond memories for Adelaide. She goes out hiking with the bridal party and gets lost, next she wakes in a strange bed.
Samuel moved to the Virginia mountains to be alone. On the way back from town he finds a beautiful redhead, unconscious on the ground, he cannot leave her there. He is not good enough for her, but that does not stop him from wanting her. It is not long before the close proximity heats up the cabin.
Is Samuel determined to keep punishing himself? Loved this story, but then again, all of Mama Mae's boys are awesome.

During a storm Samuel fronds Adelaide injured and unconscious. He helps her to safety but worries about being alone with such a beauty. The storm makes it impossible to contact the resort and they are forced to cohabitate for the night. I adored Samuel as a character! I loved his attentiveness but also his internal struggle. This short story is dual POV, well written, and a sexy tale in the Mama Mae’s boys series. I enjoyed the character and relationship development, and the intimate scenes.

Adelaide comes to Mountain Ridge for her sister's wedding, the last thing she expected was to meet someone like Samuel. When Adelaide gets lost and Samuel finds her, their short time together at the cabin makes for an enjoyable read. Then when Tyson comes to see his long lost brother, that's a must read conversation that they have. It was fun to get to meet another of Mama Mae's boys. Without giving anything away how Samuel and Adelaide come together again after she leaves the mountain, swoon worthy. If your looking for a quick, fun, romantic read you wont' regret picking this one up. Eve London has given us another great book to read.

One Night with the Mountain Man by Eve London is part of the Mountain Ridge Resort series and is also an interconnected "Mama Mae" story. The story is about Adelaide Frost and Samuel Allen and takes place at the Mountain Ridge Resort in Virginia. I enjoyed this story about two people who cross paths and end up finding they are closer to each other than they had thought. This story packs some emotion with it for both characters because of their pasts. But at the same time you can see a bright light with a rainbow overhead as they journey to their sweet and spicy HEA.
Adelaide is at Mountain Ridge Resort for her sister’s wedding. While out on a hike she gets lots and injured. Samuel finds an unconditional woman on his way back to his cabin in the middle of a rain storm. One look at her has him feeling things he hasn’t felt in years but he’s not ready to tell her his secrets and have her leave. This was a heartfelt story. Samuel doesn’t feel he’s worthy of love and happiness and has cut himself off from his family. Adelaide feels a connection to Samuel and wants to show him what a wonderful caring person he truly is. Another awesome instalment to the series. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Adelaide, a 'city' girl, is in the mountains for her sisters wedding. The wedding party go on a hike and Adelaide gets lost. Samuel lives on the mountain, alone, and that's what he thinks he wants....no, after rescuing Adelaide and bringing her back to his cabin things heat up. However he is constantly fighting the attraction. Be warned, once you start reading his background you just might start crying...I did, big time. Some sexy times, one strong female lead and a lovely epilogue made for a good way to spend an hour.

Adelaide is rescued by Samuel when he comes across her passed out on the trail while he's walking back to his house. However, once he slowly opens his heart to Adelaide she's the one who ends up rescuing him by giving him something more to hope for in life and for sending his brother to him to shake him out of his self isolation and punishment for something that was completely out of his control. It's an instanta-love story with a HEA ending and sweetness and steaminess throughout.
