Poppy Dunsfield needs a job. Since she likes kids, a nanny position seems ideal. She thinks she can handle the secluded location, but her employer’s mysterious disappearances and strange happenings are too much. She can’t stay, no matter how handsome he is or how his voice sends delicious shivers down her back.
Cadmus Xarveom, dragon shifter, suspects his brother’s and sister-in-law’s deaths weren’t an accident. When his new nanny turns out to be his mate, she makes investigating difficult. He really wants to get to know her and romance his woman, but first he has to find a killer.
Cadmus’s secrets catch up with him when he discovers the enemy has infiltrated his home and has sights set on getting revenge. With Poppy oblivious to the danger, the distractions and little fibs could cost him the lives of the two people he’s come to love the most.
Milly Taiden (also writes as April Angel) was born in the prettiest part of the Caribbean (to her) known as the Dominican Republic. Currently, she resides in New York City with her husband, bossy young son and their little dog Speedy.
When she’s not working full-time, texting with her best friend Heidi in England, chastising her son for pulling the dog’s ears, shopping with her sister Jewel or watching scary movies with her husband, she can be found writing on her laptop.
She’s addicted to shoes, chocolate, Dunkin Donuts coffee and JIMMY THOMAS covers!!!
I liked Poppy a good character that was pretty well developed. Cadmus her love interest was barely developed at all. The Dragon-shifter community barely existed. The book couldn't make up its mind between dragon-shifting and just a regular romance. Cadmus recognized Poppy as his mate but why when there wasn't any chemistry between them? The story was they slept together, and she felt used because he was gone a lot and couldn't tell her why. So she left and he found her and she got mad again for the same reason. Then it happened a third time, boring! The little girl Alina was supposed to be 2 years old but the things that involved her were deemed too young she should have been older. This book was too over the place without answering questions
Haven’t read Milly’s books in a while and was looking forward to it. I know her books are sexy, sweet and always written well. As for a re-intro back into her world, this book was disappointing. I was only able to finish 30% before I had to put it down. I had trouble connecting with Poppy. She was all over the place, hot and cold, then mad for no apparent reason. As for the kid, I couldn’t figure out her age. It was said two, but it didn’t seem that way. As for the chemistry between the characters, there wasn’t much to get me to connect to them as a couple.
The plot was good, but the writing was problematic. Sometimes the dragons shifted with their clothes, other times their clothes are destroyed. They are isolated at the mansion, but the maid can pop out to the store. They are on an island, but drive to Juneau for dinner. Sometimes they have a chef, sometimes they don't. If inconsistencies don't bother you, and you love dragon shifters, you will probably enjoy this story.
Riveting read, thrilling story with wonderful characters and additional of Dragon shifters
Poppy had taken the nanny job in the hope that she would find a place that would hopefully become a home and that she might even make some friends. The trip to Alaska had been her first airplane ride and she was surprised at the beauty of the island and the home even if it was a little remote.
Cadmus had explained that his oldest friend and wife had been killed when an avalanche had fallen on the house, Caden and his wife Phoebe had been killed and he had found their baby daughter Alina in a snowdrift crying for her parents,
Poppy and Alina had instantly hit it off and there had been a very strange connection between Cad and her, the moment they had touched and there had been a pulse of electric and this had grown between them and a relationship had started. Poppy and Alina’s time together was wonderful and it was apparent to her that she had already fallen in love with the baby girl,
It was apparent that Cadmus had something he was dealing with but he was very secretive about why he disappeared for long periods of time and she knew that she needed him to be honest and explain what he was attending to but he was not able to?
When Alina and Poppy had been on a day out pic-nic and play date, the weather had changed with a sudden storm, she had also felt that they were being threatened by something she could not see but she had to stay positive to help prevent Alina being frightened.
Then they had been attacked and all of her imaginings had become so much more real and it was obvious that that they were going to have to talk again about what was really going on the island and about what she had seen that night.
This was a truly wonderful read and I guarantee that you will love this book and like me will look forward to the next book in this series.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This was a great story, though I think the ending, after the big reveal, was a bit drawn out. Though, I did like being able to see so much of their lives after the HEA. The only other issue I had was that Poppy was a girl that was strong and independent but also easilly distracted with $ex. She would convince herself that she was going to confront Gadmus, but almost every time she would waffle and change her mind. She would demand answers only to fall back into the same pattern. Don't get me wrong, I still like how the story ended for them. The only issue I had with Gadmus was that he seemed to put everything in front of Poppy. His duty and the problems he was dealing with. He kept saying he was going to tell her thr truth,k but never went through with it until he was forced to. I understand the severity of what he was dealing with, but maybe Poppy could have helped in some way. been more cautious, if he had told her more about what was really happening. Other than that the story was great. It was entertaining and eventful. There were a few slow parts, but it didn't stall out anywhere. I really enjoyed it and look forward to book 2.
Nanny for the Dragon Daddy is the first book in the new series Shifter Needs a Nanny. In this book we meet Poppy & dragon shifter Cadmus & follow them while they wind their way to happily ever after.
Poppy has moved to Alaska to start her new job as a live in nanny to an adorable little girl. She thinks she'll be able to handle the isolation but she didn't count on being so attracted to the girl's uncle.
Cadmus suspects that his brother & his wife have been murdered, but he needs to find out who. He didn't count on finding his mate just then & she doesn't know about dragon shifters. Can he balance getting to know his mate while keeping his secrets?
It took me a while to get into this story. I had to get to know the characters & their situation before it really caught me - and it really caught me. All the characters were well thought out & the story line was a bit different than what I've read before. All in all, this is a good book to curl up with on a quiet evening.

Cadmus is the Alpha dragon in Alaska who has inherited a young dragon king due to her parents being murdered. Poppy is in need of a job and loves children, but she comes with quite a bit of baggage due to growing up in child protective services “care”. She cannot stand being locked up or told she can’t go outside for a breath of fresh air, especially if no reason is given. So while she loves her charge and is growing to care for Cadmus all of his lies and non-explanations are wearing thin. Then the dragon who killed Alina’s parents shows up to finish the job and Poppy’s PTSD rears it’s ugly head and she runs. This is a 5 🌟 fast paced paranormal romance with a second chance romance built in. It’s full of laughter, love and intrigue as well as a sweet little dragonling that can keep her “Uncle Cadmus’” secret. Minor world building with great characters.

Cadmus hires Poppy to be the nanny for his ward, who recently lost her parents in a freak accident. Cadmus is a dragon shifter and leader of his clan. Poppy is human.
Soon after Poppy begins her job, Cadmus learns more details about how his friends accident is more than an accident. Cadmus becomes preoccupied with solving this crime and not caring for his ward.
This extended absence causes turmoil for Poppy who comes with baggage of her own due to growing up in foster care. Poppy's emotions are all the place which makes her project her feelings onto the child and take her frustrations out on Cadmus.
Cadmus is trying to avenge his friends, care for the child, deal with the mate bond he feels toward Poppy. But Cadmus is reluctant to tell Poppy of his feelings due to his shifter nature, he had to be sure she will keep his secret.

Awesome! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Nanny for the Dragon Daddy is the first book in a brand new series. Poppy went to Alaska for a job as a nanny for a dragon shifter. Cadmus is s a dragon shifter, who is now a guardian of a two old toddler. Poppy was awesome and loved how she stood up for herself. Cadmus had his secrets but he's trying so hard to do the right things for his girls. Cadmus knew that this feisty, headstrong was he's fated mate. Cadmus has secrets that threaten their relationship. But his secrets and keeping her alive can break them apart. It's a fast-paced and standalone book that will keep you engaged from start to finish. It's a MUST read! Keep up the amazing work girl! Can't wait to read more from you.
poppy & katness, book stars fast he was already envisioning the nanny having his kids from the first time he met her & knew she was his fated mate by what a photo ?😳
The toddler’s parents died only 6 weeks ago yet seems completely normal and not grieving at all. No nightmares or anything even though she almost died with them
Geez they hopped on each really fast too, a bit to fast even for me who loves spice 😆
The lack of communication is so stupid if their lives are at risk he needed to tell her what was going on.
Honestly there wasn’t much to this book, very simple and predictable. The spice couldn’t even make up for the lack of a good story

This one has drama, suspense and of course hea. Poppy is hired as a nanny she moves from Texas to Alaska (talk about culture shock). The minute Cad meets her he knows she is his mate. She has a strong personality and will not put up with him constantly disappearing. There is a threat to his people, and he is trying to keep secrets he cannot tell unless they mate. This one had me wondering on the hea but it is there after they get through the hard times.

Brand new series from Milly Taiden is a charming read that wraps you up in the story from the first chapter. You get so caught up in the story…the beautiful little girl Alina who is being raised by Cadmus. He needs nanny and hires Poppy who turns out to be his fated mate. Being an shifter with major responsibilities does not leave enough time for romance or fathering. A mysterious and intriguing storyline completes this read into a must read for Taiden fans. Excellent ❤️❤️
Great start to a new series. Fate seems to have played into Cadmus choosing his new nanny. As soon as he sets eyes on her, he realizes she is his mate. Poppy's new position gives her more than she expected. This is the family she needs. However, Cadmus has secrets that threaten their relationship. He will have to open up if wants the chance of a HEA. A must read for all shifter fans. This is my voluntary opinion of an advanced copy I received.
Cadmus and Poppy find that they like each other as well but unless she excepts him as her mate or he cannot tell her anything about himself or his clan. A crazy dragon killed his best friend and his wife and Cadmus is determined to find the culprit they know it is a dragonet but they cannot find him. A chance at happiness will he listen and take the advice given him. A romantic suspense. I read a copy via BookFunnel without obligation. i volunteered an honest review.
It was fast read easy without complicated building. I was excited at the beginning waiting for the incidents but unfortunately it became bored repetitive, needed more incidents about Poppy life in the foster suffering even ignored the panic that she had when Elsander was preventing her to go out. Her reaction when she saw Cad as a shifter and hearing his story was cold with no sense at all. Unfortunately was exciting at the beginning but turned up badly
1 🌟 - Poor pacing and a choppy plot together with wildly unpredictable and changeable motivations that never seemed to truly fit with the characters. Both character and plot development are rushed in service of keeping a short novella length, and further hampered by lacklustre prose. I’ve read several of this author’s works and sadly all suffer the same issues. Won’t be reading more of their work.
The story was light, with some spice. BUT i couldn't get over detesting the fmc. There is a ton of miscommunication as he struggles to be a father figure to his best friend orphan. She is utterly unprofessional and childish at times, couldn't stand her. For some, it would probably be fine, but it was not for me. Free on KU and audible plus catalogue too.
Fuck this was the most frustrating book with it's stupid story line which consisted of nothing but shit ass communication and did absolutely nothing but PISS ME OFF plus it has a sooky little bitch of an FMC
I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea what happened here. I mostly kept reading with the thought that maybe it would come together....it in fact, did not come together. between inconsistencies, the FMC not being able to stick to a single decision, and an MMC who frankly isn't around enough to even be a main character, the only thing I can say this book had going for it is it takes place in Alaska. And that's because I love alaska and want to go back.
A great start to a new series! A great story that has plenty of action that’ll hold your interest. Poppy was awesome and I loved how she stood up for herself. Cadmus had his secrets but he was trying so hard to do the right things for his girls. Alina was adorable! Very enjoyable! Great read and a good start for a new series. Lots of drama, suspense, and of course steamy romance to keep you hooked from beginning to end. Looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I received a free copy via Booksprout and as always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.
Cadmus was checking on his brother's and sister-in-law deaths. But he found his mate in the nanny. She however is going to run from him. All due to his strange behavior. But when the danger comes them. Nothing wil stop him from protecting what's his.

What's wrong Milly? This just doesn't seem like one of your works. I just couldn't connect with this story or any of the characters. Why can't a 2 yr. old child speak in complete sentences? Not your usual fare. I can not recommend this book. I hope the next book is better.
Cadmus & Poppy: his friends just died and he was left with their daughter and he didn't know what to do, he would have to get a nanny. She was applying for this job as a nanny in AK to start over and getting away from TX, but she never dream she would fall in love with him.
Dear God, I'm glad this book was free. I feel like I'm being mean in saying this, but jesus, this book was bad. I expected light-hearted smut.. was even looking forward to that, but what I got was absolutely no plot and poor/no character development. Fairly sure I just spent four hrs reading a synopsis not a book.
There is no evidence of someone pre-reading. Was there an ARC? I'm not sure if this was edited at all. The writing is problematic. The timeline of advents don't match. The FMC is hot and cold. The age of the child doesn't match how the author wrote.
If you skipped this book, you'd really wouldn't be missing out on anything.
If you are a lover of paranormal romance then look no further. With the twists and turns we all hope for in Milly's books. I did receive this book as an ARC, but this is my honest review.
4.5 Stars Milly Taiden has given us a fantastic start to a new series. The character work and story line was well written just as I expected and I read this book in one sitting it was that good.
I received and ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a cute read Poppy and Cadmus were charming together and I loved reading about them. I enjoyed the suspense and the mystery surrounding Cadmus. This is a great start to a new series and I cannot wait to find out what happens next.
Loved the characters and the storyline and couldn't put it down and can't wait to read more in this series so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
