Nice Illustrations but Emotionless

Excited to see both this cover and one of my favourite Bibilcal figures, I was anxious to pick up Jonah. For those unfamiliar with the story, Jonah has a kind of 'grumpy old man' spirit where he doesn't want to start any trouble, be involved in trouble, wants live in comfort, and see justice instead of forgiveness. Well, the comic is factually correct, as the verses are referred to and cited properly, but as the case with many Christian retellings, the reverence for such takes out the excitement of the tale. Where's the part where Jonah was vomited out onto the shore? Where are his facial expressions in a kind of 'fist raising' to God? Okay children's story, just not a lot of substance for teens and above.

Prophets come along only once in a great whale... or was it a fish? Either way, it's Nineveh business!
