I don't have any desire to deal with people. I do it only because I have to.
They bore me. Exhaust me. Trying to pretend I understand them, pretending I actually care.
Until I met you. Suddenly I don't have to act. I can take off the mask around you and feel everything for the first time in my life.
I can understand. I can care. I can love.
Only you.
Disclaimer: Only is a BWWM Dark Romance that will keep you on edge until the very last page. There is no cliffhanger, no cheating, lots of spice and like in all my books, there is a HEA. Though the happy in this one may be subjective to your taste. :)
The minute he sets eyes on her he felt that intense pull, some might call it obsession but to him, she was the Only “thing” that gives him that “good “ feeling… I don’t think he had a name for it yet but she made his heart joyous. Just watching her was enough to make his day & when he found out that she was married with a kid in the picture, he was devastated… Years later, the fool of a husband was no longer in the picture and Hugo won’t let his chance passed him by. Their love story is unconventional but is imperfectly perfect for them. They are just beautiful together!
From my perspective, this wasn’t a dark romance. Hugo had seen Amara years before and imprinted on her; however, when he found out that she was married. He walked away, until he learns that she is single and decided its time to claim is woman and his part in is her life.
It was a good read; however, I believe the author could benefit from the use of a good proofreader.
I'm not certain if this novel is what I would consider as a "dark romance " compared to others that I have read, but it is still an enjoyable read. The love interest, Hugo, is mysterious, intense, intelligent, and obsessive. However, I was hoping for more edge from him. Amara is an interesting character as well. She is an independent, smart woman, good friend, and loving mother to her son Sawyer. Her options for a love match, in this story, explain her reasoning well. It is a good read but not at the level of a dark, twisted, thriller romance that I had searched. Still, there is HEA, and it is a good read.
Another great story in this series by Ms Estelle . I am starting to fill like this series is like a romantic version of the twilight zone or something . Each one is so different but gets connected by a small and I mean small reference to past characters. I love it . Also this story had me on my toes the entire time I honestly didn't know what to expect but I loved every moment btw Hugo and Amara . To have a man that much in love with you and not be totally crazy has to be amazing
Loved this love story of Amara and Hugo. The story has serious shades of grey. He does it in a non creepy way to me. The way he puts Amaras ex in his place is on point . A bit more drama in this one because Hugo did lie and you will see in a way it's for a good reason. More people are added to the poop pile l, Colton the ex and Andres the conniving brother of Hugo. I don't like when people start ish because they are not getting their way. This entire series is one of the best I've read in a long time.
This was an okay read. I liked the MCs find but I wanted more. I’m not a fan of stories told from one POV, I feel like I’m missing a whole lot of details, and this story was mainly told from the h’s POV. The mystery/suspense was interesting but I think it was actually a little tame. I wanted more with the brother, more with Colton’s issues, just more.
He was a frigging stalker. He and his brother both. You call it dark, I call it disturbing. To me you made her desperate. She let him tell her about his stalking without her being afraid. I would be scared shitless. You had to epilogue us into Cora and Sloan. I DON'T CARE!!! This was Amara (desperate) and Hugo (crazy) life story. I guess if something was amiss, her son and Brandon would have picked up on it. Kids are sensitive.
Soooo gooood! The book starts with Amara's POV but when the POV changes, the total picture becomes clearer. Love the buildup to the crazy and the dialogue was very witty. That line about not needing to be Sawyer's dad because he was Amara's was 🎤 drop worthy. This is my first read by this author. I am a new fan. I've gotta see what else her beautiful mind has come up with.
Estelle H. turns out great stories with interesting characters and plenty of twists. The story of Hugo and Amara was particularly complicated. We don’t hear much from Hugo for most of the book, but when we do receive his POV he has plenty to tell us. The story is a bit darker than some of her stories but Hugo is such an amazing character….stalkerish but cute!
This was my 1st book by this author and it was alright. Nothing too extravagant or different but still entertaining and toward the end had some suspense. There were several loose ends that weren’t cleared up by book end but still, a pretty good read. Not sure if I’ll read anymore books by Estelle H. Or not though. We’ll see…
I was sad to see this book come to an end! I want a Hugo in my life! His love for Amara was so touching, and his love for her extended to her son. The extra characters in this book made it past awesome and I look forward to Estelle's next book!
Didn’t realise this was a series when I started reading it but I’m glad every book stands on its own. Hugo is gonna be a hit or miss for a lot of people but I like him. He only has Amara in his heart and mind which is how it should be
As you think you know how it will end or you're thinking "this will be the breakup. I wonder how she is going to resolve this," you ended up surprised. This story is unpredictable and hot. It makes me want my own Hugo.
Hugo and Amara are a wonderful couple. I love how the story unfolded and the sex scenes were on point. This book is the first I've read from this author. I highly recommend.
Wow....intense us one word to describe this couple. I was scared Hugo was crazy near the end, but it all came together wonderfully. The passion between Hugo and Amara is to die for. I wish they would have explored more. You won't be disappointed with these two!
I just wanted it to be longer I guess. It was beautifully written and the relationship between our MCs was built naturally. Very little out of the pocket drama and believable plots.
This was really good, when you think it one way it came out to be another. Hugo was a stalker in the beginning but I wanted them to stay together and be happy. I give it two thumbs up!!!!
This had me on the edge of my seat!!! I enjoyed every moment of this dark, delicious book! I’ve been reading through the series and this book makes me excited to read more.
It’s not as dark as I though, and definitely makes you re-think the way we Judge people sometimes…It’s a short reading, and has a good story line to it.
Hugo was obsessed with Amara after first seeing her at a shop where she worked! She was married and later moved with her husband to another city. He admired her from afar once he learned that she was married. He later moved to the same city to be closer and found she had divorced her husband. Now it is Hugo making a place for himself in Amara's life!
This may be a spoiler but I truly thought Hugo cause the accident 🙃 and took the gift but he didn’t. I enjoyed this book. I thought it was was a really good pace. I’m always kind of cautious when I read books that have less than 200 pages because sometimes it can feel rushed. The spice out of this world. There’s just one scene that just like put me for a loop. A good loop though.
