The Prophet of Mercy: How Muhammad (PBUH) Rose Above Enmity Insult

Rate this book
To delegitimize the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم is to call into question the entire message. During his time, the Makkans called him a poet, a magician, and a madman, among other names. Today, he is insulted with other labels. The question of whether or not he sacrificed his principles in the pursuit of conveying his message successfully is one that requires an in-depth look

Writing 5/5

A very meaningful book about the mercy of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). His life experiences of being in harsh situations of showing his mercy to people that have either wronged him or others, or Allah (SWT) (with things that would displease him Allah), instead of punishing directly or executing a sort of consequence. More so, the author also emphasises his fairness when the people expected the worst.

This is a compilation of stories from the time of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), about how he (SAW) and his companions faced the challenges and persecution from the people around them, and a lot of times, they are their own relatives.
The stories are arranged according to the era the occurred - during the early days in Makkah, where they faced severe opposition and oppression by the Quraysh; in Madinah, where the hostility of the hypocrites and some “very distant relatives” proved to be challenging for the Muslims; and when they conquered Makkah, where forgiveness was demonstrated even more clearly there. There are also a few events towards the end of his (SAW) life mentioned in the book.
The book is only a little over 100 pages, but there are 70 stories. This looks like more of an introductory book on how merciful and forgiving our beloved Prophet (SAW) was, and not an in-depth study of these beautiful characters of his (SAW). There are some practical applications that were suggested in the book, but for the most of it, we will need to make our own reflections.

Good short summary of the Prophet SAW’s character told through 70 stories where he rose above his enemies. Would have loved an in-depth telling but I guess this is meant to be an introductory text instead.

This book contains 70 heartfelt short stories around the theme of our beloved prophet's mercy to all around him, even to those who hurt him physically and emotionally.

Most of his foes will always be touched by his gentleness and mercy thus cannot resist embracing islam and even becoming defender until they die.

These stories remind you of his flawless great character, and even if you tried to put yourself in his shoes, you will wonder if you will ever react the same during those difficult circumstances.

Subhanaallah, Allah already gave us the best example of all mankind, its up to us whether we even try to at least follow the footsteps little by little.

May Allah guide us in this challenging worldly life 🤲🏻✨

I just wish the stories were a little longer so I could indulge and dig more into each persons backstory and the situation

Love the short but concise and completely comprehensive examples given on each page - allows room for us to personally reflect on what our own reactions would be in the same situation, thereby raising our respect for this great individual, the last Messenger sent by Allah for all of mankind til time ends, SallalAllahu alaihi wa sallam.

The fact that the examples are usually one per page allows room for this type of reflection. This could easily have been a much chunkier and much longer text, but I prefer the approach taken by the authors.

A must read in this day and age.

The book is about SubhanAllah, the most beautiful character our role model, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). I had heard great things about his character and was in awe, but reading about it with my own eyes deepened my admiration. The book presents 70 incidents that exemplify the remarkable qualities of his (PBUH) character. He was the most patient and forgiving human being to ever live. May Allah grant us even a fraction of his patience. Ameen.

3.5. would have rated it 4, but i felt that the stories were summarised really briefly. regardless, i really appreciated how it still managed to show cased how noble the Prophet was among all of his righteous characteristics and the love that i have for him just continues to grow.
