Freelance journalist, Kenzie Phillips, has stumbled onto a story, she can feel it. Her suspicions are confirmed after her informant, Bill Manning, gives her details into the strange happenings in Moonlight Cove fifteen years ago and a federal agent comes sniffing around.
Dane Rogers, doesn’t work for the FBI, in fact, most of the government doesn’t know his department exists. After Kenzie puts out a true crime podcast about the Genesis Foundation, he steps in looking to find her source and erase all traces of the audio files.
Kenzie’s problems multiply when a pale, shell-shocked teen shows up on her doorstep looking for sanctuary. He calls himself Ethan-Ten, and claims that he used to be perfect.
With the Genesis Foundation and the federal government both on her tail, Kenzie doesn’t know who to trust, but there’s something about Ethan that seems more familiar than she wants to admit, and if she doesn’t find a way to protect him, Genesis will destroy him for being flawed.
Then they’ll come for her, but not for her life. It’s her DNA they’re after…
