Enjoyable Read
This was a good and enjoyable book. Really liked the characters and the book left you wanting a more, I will look for part 2.

This was quite an entertaining story for the most part. Rose is a good, strong female character and I like how her community works to help the members and others survive. I do like seeing some of the items that she and her group found important to purchase and, later, scavenge, though the list can bog down the narrative at times. There was an odd mention of a CRE instead of CME and there were a few sentence structure and punctuation issues, though not of that was really distracting. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to book 2.

A good start.
This one takes place in some familiar territory. The characters are some good people. It even has a snooty rich kid that doesn't appreciate what is provided for her. Looking forward to the next one.

It's not my typical read, but I wanted something different. I am glad I picked this up! It's been a quite the enjoyable read! The author is detailed with her characters and setting. I grew up in Genesee County, MI so I could vividly see where eveything was happening. I felt an emotional connection to the characters almost immediately. She does a great job at exploring all the "what ifs" that might happen if an EMP strike happened. She's very thorough, to say the least. You can visualize, smell, and feel like you're right beside these characters. I personally would have loved to see a vegetarian character, who felt conflicted about the morality of eating wild animals (and potentially live stock/pet rabbits) to give it another different perspective. However, she does a wonderful job with her diversity of characters! I understand not everyone can be represented in a book. Even if EMPs aren't your thing (they certainly aren't mine,) I encourage you to just give this book a try! It's refreshing to read something different, but still relatable.

I liked the story of Rose and her family and friends (some of them "new friends") when faced with the worst calamity in modern history. How do they cope, and do they retain their humanity (and still survive)?
Living in the "right" mix of rural and urban to have most of the resources without the overwhelming problem with numbers of people, they meet the crises, and the rest is the "meat" of the story.

I Loved the Book. Details writing, I could truly picture the area in my mind.
I Live in Michigan ,but way up in Grayling , next to the National Guard. They practice all the time we call them ground pounders.
I am looking for Michigan Book 2 it says its due 2022 but I just can't find it. Keep writing I love these state

A Good Story

As with all the books in the series the interaction Between characters is great The action sequences are wonderful and well thought out and written Can't wait for the next book in the series to come out with. Waiting for California two and Michigan fall two.

A great read.
Well-written story that is realistic and has believable characters. The prepping part is full of actual, usable information and I pray the United States can survive weak, foolish presidents and vice presidents so we don't become a target.

Wow
I really enjoyed this story. The thought processes of some people are about as smart as a box of rocks, but the other side of that is pure genius in some of the things done in this book. The work ethic of some and the laziness of others. A definite recommend!

Interesting adventurous story
The author keeps th story moving quickly with believable characters. One of the main characters, Rose, continues to make the best of all possible outcomes and visitations. Much to learn if we are ever hit with an EMP.

What a awesome series this is!
This was my favorite book in this series, a close runner up was Texas Fall. Was it the horse and mule? The animals? Or maybe the good neighborhood? I don't know but I sure enjoyed it.

3.5. Found this book on Kindle Unlimited while looking for a Michigan-themed book. Not a bad post-apocalyptic story. It was a quick read that should have been longer. Things happened fast and the climax wasn’t too dramatic. Filled with good survival tips.
