Emma Creed lives in England and enjoys behaving like the perfect princess to her extremely tolerable husband all whilst raising 3 boys and a mini princess in the making. When she isn’t entertaining the voices in her head, she spends her free time with a glass of white wine and a good book. Emma has been an avid reader since she was a little girl and with a little encouragement to take the leap into writing, she discovered that she loved it. When she isn’t locked in her writing cave making up stories she can be found chatting on social media and wasting hours scrolling through Tik Toc.
The latest instalment in the Dirty Souls series did not disappoint! I absolutely love Screwy, Lydia, and their dark romance. Screwy was a lot sweeter than I was expecting him to be. (He’s a selective mute, so aside from his scowls and brief conversations with his twin brother in the previous books, we didn’t know a whole lot about him). His gentleness made him the perfect match for the damaged and traumatized Lydia. This book is extremely dark and goes in some very disturbing directions. Check out the spoiler-hidden trigger warnings if you’re worried. But, if you made it through the first five books in the series, you should be fine. The overarching plotline of the MC and the different characters in it is veering in a new direction, and I’m excited to see where the next book leads! Trigger Warnings: HEA?

STORY: What I Like: I adore the manner in which the author develops her story and her characters. This series has come a long way and watching as the plots and storylines comes to life with each character. Screwy is the silent guy and it's because of his past because he literally says nothing and only talks to his brother. He's a nice guy with Lydia, but more the cranky silent guy around other people.
This story draws us into human trafficking/auctions and women in training to please their future master. Screwy is preparing to rescue this woman he has never met, thus launching the story of Lydia and Screwy. The dynamic between the two figures was interesting because Lydia is still in a master/submissive mentality and is very vulnerable. Screwy is attracted to Lydia, but fights with himself constantly to do the right thing and bring her to her family. If you are familiar with this series and the author’s writing style, you know what to expect. I personally like the way she brings the story to life and it is very inviting the way she pulls you in.
What Is So So: I really appreciated the story, however, for this couple, I wasn't a fan of their sexual chemistry all the time. The build-up was good, because Lydia's background sets the pace for their chemistry. I believe it could have been more once it exploded. It's not erotic, but I sensed that their full potential was not reached for me personally.
SEXUAL CHEMISTRY: The build up was appealing and their sex scenes weren’t bad, I just wanted so much more. I sound like an oxymoron because their scenes of physical intimacy correspond to their personalities, however, as time passed, I needed more.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS: I never had a problem with the secondary characters in this series. Couples from the past are always very relevant to the current plot and this is one of the things that makes me return.
OVERALL: Was I entertained? Yes Did I like the story? Yes If a series, would I read/continue with the other books in the series,? Yes
TRIGGERS: Lydia’s past while being held captive and trained. Mentioned of group assault/rape from previous book.
NOTES: Virgin heroine, no cheating
****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.
Fan-fucking-tastic and heart wrenching read! If you are a fan of dark and gritty reads, you really cannot go wrong with Emma Creed. One of my favorite MC writers, I have never been anything but blown away by her writing and Tortured Soul is certainly no exception to this rule. Tortured Soul is the 7th book in the Dirty Souls MC series and *could* be read as a standalone, but has overarching story arcs that continue from book to book. You do not want to miss out on this book or this series! Tortured Soul pretty much starts where Untamed Soul left off. The Club got intel that Storm's sister may be up at auction, so they send Screwy in to bid on her. When Screwy doesn't see Storm's sister, he can't help but bid on another girl that tugged on his heartstrings despite going against the club to do so. Now, the Club is mad at him, he has this girl looking at him like he's her savior, and Storm's sister to still find. This is one non-stop action filled ride you're not going to want to miss!
Ohhh Screwy... my heart hurts for that man. We knew there were reasons for his silence and his solitude, even while he's amongst his brothers, but ahh, my heart could barely take the raw truth of his life. Not a read for the faint of heart, please mind the trigger warnings. This is an emotional rollercoaster of a ride with TONS of heart stopping twists, turns, and raw emotions. It is wonderful to see Screwy finding his person in someone who is as broken as he is, but who always has a smile and love to give. Lydia gives Screwy her faith and trust and ulimately her love which pulls him back together and makes him feel whole.

It’s so strange trying to rate and review a true series.
I had be so looking forward to Screwy’s story. And maybe my expectations were too high, but that portion of this book didn’t quite hit like I wanted it to. I loved him and seeing how he was with Lydia. But there just felt to be something missing.
Now, while this couple’s story wasn’t my favorite, I’m absolutely loving the way the overall plot is continuing. The way it’s all being tied together is such a ride. I really did love where this one went.
*spoilers ahead* … … … … …

I’m not usually a fan of women (especially “untrained” women who’ve never shown any signs of “badass” behavior) going out to try to save the day. In this case, I was okay with it simply because of the way things progressed. They did continually try to reach the men, but when they couldn’t, they took matters into their own hands. I also do like that they didn’t act invincible. There was conversation and those with children stayed behind. So it wasn’t quite so unbelievable.
Do I wish they’d made more of a mess? Yes. But, had it gone that way, I’d probably be complaining about how I didn’t buy it. Yeah, I’m hard to please.
Now, it was during this part of the book that it felt spice was thrown in just for the sake of putting it in there. It didn’t really further the plot in my opinion, and I really wish it’d been left out.
Poor tortured Screwy. This book was so hard on the heart for both of them, but really, I felt more for Screwy even though Lydia went through hell.
I wish the sex scenes in this book felt more sexy. The way they were written felt like a chore for both of them, for different reasons. I never felt like Screwy could be himself and I never felt like Lydia really enjoyed it. It always seemed uncomfortable or painful for her more than pleasure which made me feel like she felt like she was always playacting her sex drive.
As tortured as they were and as much as Screwy seemed to be healed by his love at first sight, this wasn't my favorite of the series and they aren't my favorite couple.
This book had a LOT of words that were misused. They did not mean what the author thought they did. I think a better round of proof reading and possibly copy editing is in order for her books.
Screwy is complicated. He doesn't view himself as worthy. He doesn't think he deserves happiness and he sure doesn't believe he deserves to be loved. Even though he and his brother did everything together, there were still secrets that he kept locked within. Secrets that brought him an immense, never ending, amount of pain. No one understands him, not really. His life changes when his eyes land on Lydia. His need to protect her becomes so powerful, that he goes against everything. But, with how he views himself, it isn't long before he believes that he has to protect her from himself. Lydia has gone through so much. Her soul, mind, and body have been dragged through the mud. Her life isnt anything that's worth living. Shes treated horribly and only viewed as property. Scared of the only man that is a constant in her life. Yet, she knows deep down that she can trust Screwy when he comes storming into her world. It's a story full of growth. Full of overcoming fears and realizing that you are worthy. They both have to learn from their pasts and realize that their futures are more than what they thought they would be. They both have pasts they aren't proud of but they're pasts that they aren't responsible for. They lean on each other to find their strength and Screwy found his reason, and his voice.
As with other Dirty Souls MC books that I have read this book has definitely earned the five-star rating. This story is dark but gave me my HEA. The things that Lydia has gone through is beyond my imagination and you would think she would be broken forever.
Screwy is a man who has locked up his heart and won’t let anyone in. There was a day that may change just that when he storms in and sees Lydia. Lydia see the darkness but to her she sees his darkness as saving her.
For me, I couldn’t put this book down because once I started it, I just couldn’t put it down because this author knows how to write MC romances the captures me from page one until the last page is turned. I always look forward to the upcoming books in the Dirty Souls MC series.
This author knows how to write beautiful dark emotional stories that hit you right in the gut she’s one of my favorite MC romance authors ever! This series I swear every book I think wow this one is my favorite and she goes and blows my mind again with the next and this one was no different it’s full of devastating moments and twists and turns it was definitely a wild ride to this couples happily ever after and it hit me right in all my feels! Loved it!
OMG! Emma Creed is the Queen of MC romance novels! This series is by far the best MC saga I have ever read. And at last, the one I have been waiting for, Screwy. What an absolute rollercoaster of emotions from the very first page. Not only do we learn more about Screwy’s past and the reason he is full of self-hatred, but we are introduced to Lydia with an equally dark and heartbreaking past. However, Lydia is full of hope, love and positivity, can she save Screwy from his deep, dark hell and show him the light?
WOW! I have loved each and every book in this phenomenal series but this is my absolute favourite. The storyline and characters are so well written, I live each and every one of their emotions. I also love catching up with characters from previous books in the series and seeing how their lives are developing. I think this is the reason I am so in enamoured with this series.
Long may the ‘Dirty Souls’ saga continue. I know on thing for sure, I’ll be eagerly awaiting every single release. 5 stars is not enough for this fantastic series.
I received an ARC of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Maybe then I’ll stop hearing her voice. I’ll stop seeing her every time I close my eyes, and my tortured soul can crawl to hell where it belongs.
The darkness from our pasts can cling to us like second skin.
Scars may show our battles although, you can’t always see the torment that still rattles within us.
Even the goodness of your heart can be damaged beyond repair.
The bite of the bullet could be your only way out…but you're stronger than you believe…sometimes it just takes that one person to breathe life into your soul.
Tonight was just…I don’t fucking know what tonight fucking was or what drew me to her.
Strong, silent and a total mystery Screwy is a man the ladies are drawn to, feeling and wanting a taste of that danger. They each believe they can be the one to crack into him…but they will never get the chance. To them, they are just something to scratch an itch as Screwy is an emotional blackhole. Screwy's only loyalty is to his brothers and even then only speaks when needed to his twin brother Squealer.
When lead finally gives the club a chance to help a brother out, it’s Screwy who must rise to the challenge…but all is about to become a little more complicated.
A tear slips out of the corner of her eye and slides down her cheek, and maybe it’s just my imagination, but it feels like she’s crying to me alone. Begging me to drag her out of the hell she’s in.
Fate has Screwy riding down a road he never thought he’d cross. A woman who’s damaged eyes shine brighter every time she looks up at him. Where many dare not to see into his tortured soul, she wants nothing more than to fall deep into the darkness and light up every dark corner. She creeps upon him and Screwy fears her more than anyone he has ever faced.
Because, she’s the only one that’s been able to touch him like no other has, see his untamed demon that thirst for killing those who prey on the weak and through all this…could she be the one that can heal him.
“I wish you could understand that I want you, Screwy….Like this, tortured and broken. Brutal and savage. I want every version of you, even the ones you feel like you have to protect me from.”
This ride is not without its bumps in the road, repairs and some tender care though could see them riding on a new route together.
She may be the purest, innocent woman to ever enter Screwy’s life, but she is not a fragile doll, having her own cracks and empty eyes that gaze over as she searches for the girl she once was.
Her past is a mystery that she's trying to uncover. His past is a mystery that he is trying to keep covered.
Can two tortured souls heal one another…before the devil himself comes to collect what was taken from his bloodied claws?
Nothing will ever be the same. Not now that I wanna wrap her up and keep her for my-fuckin’-self.
Are you ready for this emotional, heart wrenching, tear jerking and one hell of a ride?
Like many of the club girls, we’re all been desperate to get inside Screwy’s head and find out why he keeps everyone at an arm’s length. From the previous book with Squealer, we were finally able to get an insight into their past and hear Screwy for the first time. Now, this is his story and wow the shocks that we are about to uncover…mind blow and then add in someone who may not look strong on the surface but will be damned if she isn’t going to be the one to look past everything this man hides.
How this all came together along with the main storyline is amazing, just the title alone you know this is going to be deep and for not only Screwy but, the female her story is just as compelling to read and discover.
Of course, this is a Dirty Soul story so don’t worry all our favourite characters are riding alongside our couple! Honestly, this series is forever growing and each character keeps on developing as they entwine with the main story.
A shock twist leaves even our clever Prez knocked off his boots but rest assured he is a man that always looks after his club brothers. Many may have their ladies riding on their bikes nowadays…but some men are still riding alone, they may intend to keep it that way…but fate may just hit the brakes on that peaceful journey!
Screwy and Lydia's story is one of heartache, pain, and finally, redemption. They both slid easily into my new favorite couple in Emma Creed's Dirty Souls MC series, which is saying something. Both Screwy and Lydia have experienced pain and anguish in their lives- things that NO person should EVER have to experience. And that is what brings them together.
Throughout the story, we are allowed further into Screwy's (and Squealer's) family backstory- gaining the insight into why Screwy has been so quiet and reserved. Along with that, we learn about Lydia's life, or what little she remembers of it. Screwy hasn't felt any real attachment to anyone outside the club, and no real pull to anyone outside of his brother, since his sister passed. Lydia has experienced the horrors that men can do, for the last several years. Yet, when the opportunity presents itself, and she sees Screwy in "protective" mode, she's not afraid of him. She's not afraid of the demons she sees there. In fact, she wants to get closer- convince him he's not the monster he thinks he is. And in return, he wants nothing more than to give her the happy, loving life that he so strongly feels she needs and deserves- but can he give that to her, or will he need to give her up? There is SOOO much I want to say, but without giving spoilers, Screwy and Lydia are both fighting demons- STRONG demons that threaten their sanity and any chance at happiness.
Emma Creed does it again, pulling us even further into this crazy family. The bonds of brotherhood (and sisterhood- I'm looking at you ladies!) are illustrated beautifully by how they all care about and for each other. With each book, my desire to be a part of this crazy, reckless, and amazing family grows stronger and stronger. This one brought the anxiety, the exhales, the tears, and the smiles and giggles that make your cheeks hurt. HIGHLY recommend!!!
** I highly recommend starting with Lost Soul (book 1- Jessie's story) and reading through them all. You will then be able to truly appreciate all of their relationships and, with each story, you learn more and more about their loyalty and love to each other.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Finally we get Screwy's story and Wow! His history and why he doesn't speak to anyone but his twin all comes out. I love a story that grabs you immediately and holds you through to the end. Tortured Souls is one of a few books lately that I could not put down.
Emma Creed has done so many things right with this series. The men are brothers and no matter their differences they accept each other, protect one another. The women in their lives are all uniquely strong even after everything they have gone through. They have to be strong to love these broken men. The story line has been moving through all the books with enough resolved in each book to.ne satisfying but needing the next one.
Screwy is Squealer's twin. While Squealer is the party man, Screwy rarely speaks, looks on the verge to explode and contemplates suicide regularly. Darkness lives in Screwy and surrounds him.
Seeing a woman in trouble for the first time he wants to rescue her and protect her, risking his own life and the wrath of his brothers. Lydia is a girl that was being auctioned off after being held captive and trained. She sees Screwy as her savior and it kills him. He could feel so much for her but sees himself as weak and evil.
The transformation of Screwy is all because of Lydia. She is innocent and full of hope and she gives this to him. I loved watching her make Screwy feel things. Emma Creed gives the reader an emotional ride as we learn about both Screwy and Lydia's past. There are lots of possible triggers throughout the story. As tough as it is to read what trauma they suffered they are able to come out of it together and happy. Tortured Souls is an excellent read that will stay with me for a while. Now onto Tac...
Warning: When you start reading this book, like the other books in this series, you won’t be able to put it down. This fast-paced story grabs you by the throat and holds you hostage until the very last page. So much happens that there is never a dull moment throughout the book. In fact, its unpredictability is one of the best features. In this story, Storm’s sister, Riley, is still missing and the Prez receives a new lead on her whereabouts, which leads to a plan to get her back.
Screwy sees the world in black, this describes him perfectly, but he has every reason to, we learn. The more the story goes back in time, the more I become incensed on behalf of both of the twins, but mainly Screwy. It explains why he is so hard on himself and this makes me want to wrap him up in a snuggle blanket and keep him safe—yes, totally ridiculous, but you get the idea. I truly want Screwy to be happy… bottom line, end of story. This is the depth of feeling that you experience because of the author’s expressive and emotive writing.
Lydia is without doubt one very strong young woman. My admiration for this character is immense and as the story progresses so did my admiration. She is intuitive, caring and supportive of those around her; she’s accepted and befriended by those around her because she is a genuinely delightful person.
Honestly, there’s so much drama and action that the story zips by so quickly. I was entertained and delighted, at times I was scared, shocked and angered, too, but most of all I was totally enraptured with everything Screwy. This is definitely a raw, gritty book but humour slips in occasionally from the last person you’d expect—Screwy! Of course, Squealer and Rogue both add some fun in too. All round, this is worth more than 5 stars, I loved it.

Seriously though!!! What BRILLIANCE! This book has been on my TBR foreverrrrr and I’m so frustrated that it took me so long to read it because it dragged. me. in. So many times I found myself squealing and kicking my feet, giddy as hell over a jumble of words that squeezed my heart in the best way. Seriously, I was laughing almost as much as I was crying while reading this. But do not let my experience misdirect you-this book has quite a few (see: MANY) very dark moments. Emma Creed has clearly perfected romantic suspense in such a way that Im pretty sure I’ll have a book hangover for a few days.🥲 Screwy is a dark, brooding, tortured hero with the BIGGEST heart-I fell just as hard as Lydia did🫠 And Lydia!!! Strong, resilient, determined, fearless, optimistic-UGH! Lydia is a P E R F E C T FMC who won my crabby old heart over in a heartbeat🥹 The side characters, particularly Squealer and Rogue, were some of the best I’ve read-supportive, caring, badass, and hysterical. They will do anything and everything for their loved ones. I’m kicking myself for starting this series at book #7😅 But i’m ridiculously excited to ignore my ever growing TBR to rip through Emma Creed’s entire library (I’ll probably start at book 8 because I have no patience😌). PLEASE check your triggers before you read!!!!!
Screwy is facing a past that has shaped most of his life. He doesn’t open up to people because of it. He comes to a standstill though when he sees Lydia being auctioned and does what he can to save her. Slowly he begins to communicate with others and opens up. However, he can’t accept her in his life because he thinks he is a monster, so does everything he can to distance himself even when his heart says no. Lydia herself is overcoming the trauma of being abducted and trained to serve as well as trying to remember her past. She sees Screwy though as a good person despite his darkness and tries her hardest to keep them together. Her strength despite the odds are what makes her Screwy’s saving grace.
This book really pulled at the heart strings with all the grittiness and emotional roller coasters as we slowly learn what shaped Screwy into what he became. Readers should heed trigger warnings as we encounter uncomfortable topics. But the journey we go through with these characters are worth it.
We also see our familiar Dirty Soul characters as they each come together as a club o help out their family. Some characters aside from out main couple resolve issues that came up in previous books while new issues arise which will open to future books. We also have the overarching enemy of Vendetti, whom I hope the club finally is able to take down in the next book or so!
Overall this was a tough but enjoyable read. I look forward to seeing how it unfolds in future books.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Emma always finds a way to rip my heart to pieces and put it back together, filling the cracks with gold. Screwy and Lydia's story was dark and beautiful and perfect in every way.
To help return Storm's sister, Screwy attends a sex trafficking auction to bid on her. When Lydia comes out, he instantly feels a connection and the need to save her, so he does. Lydia can't remember anything before she met her trainer. She's known nothing but him and fear for years, until her savior arrives. With Screwy she feels safe. Together they attempt to unravel her past and save his tortured soul.
These were amazing characters. I've always loved Screwy and couldn't wait to discover his back story, especially after getting a sneak of it during Squealer's. I was so excited to meet the woman who would get him to open up and she didn't disappoint. Lydia has been through so much and yet she still finds reasons to smile. She was so quick to open her heart to the club and to be there every way she could for Screwy.
This is one of the darker of the series. Screwy's past isn't for the Faint of heart and we watch Lydia go through some pretty tough stuff.
I love that we finally get to see Jess and Maddy deal with their sh!t and that we get some foreshadowing on future stories with possibly Tac, Thorne, Storm and Storm's sister. I'm excited to see where the Souls head off to next!
This series of books needs to be read in order, but it’s definitely worth the time to read them all. They are excellent. This book tells the story of Screwy, the mostly silent twin brother of Squealer. Since spending time in a mental institution after he snapped and killed his abusive stepfather, Screwy only speaks to his brother (and then rarely). But when he sees Lydia, he is driven to rescue her from a horrible situation. Despite the damage each of them has suffered, Screwy and Lydia have a beautiful love story. But their love is threatened by bad memories and outside forces. I really liked both main characters. They are written with depth and layers. The secondary characters are all well written and well rounded. Although the hero and heroine are the main focus, there is plenty of secondary action with the other characters, including continuation of their previous storylines. There were plenty of steamy scenes. The book is well paced and never boring. It kept me reading long past my bedtime! Not gonna lie- parts of the story are disturbing, particularly the flashbacks. It may trigger some readers. But these flashbacks are important to the overall story, and never feel gratuitous. This is a dark MC romance, but so good. If you like dark MC romance, you’ll love this series. Highly recommended. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The shots and brainwashing keeps Lydia from remembering her past. The only thing she does remember is the daily cruelty and abuse from her trainer. Her v- card he won't touch since she is to be auctioned off to a new master. Due to the trama of Screwy's past he doesn't speak except to his brother. He may be quiet but the demons inside his head call to the thirst of bl00d. The Dirty Souls have a new lead on Storm's sister. Word has it that she is to be auctioned off. Screwy goes in undercover since he resembles the man who is suppose to be there. Then he sees her. Pure and innocent. Begging him with her eyes to save her. He's in a trance. The Dirty Souls said it isn't her. He bids. Stop! But he can't. Stop! He continues but loses. He11 hath no fury like a man needing to save her. She's broken. Fear of everything in the world that surrounds her except for Screwy. Buried secrets from the past have risen from the ashes, not only affecting Screwy but threatening to tear him from inside out. The demons that wreak havoc in his life makes him do stupid things like returning her home. With the Ol' ladies and Lydia's lives in danger the Dirty Souls must act fast to save them. Action packed drama, mystery, suspense, murder, incest and steamy scenes will keep you intrigued from beginning to end on an emotional wild ride. Highly recommend this series!
Both Lydia and Screwy are tortured souls, she has been held captive by monster for two years, training her to follow direction. The amount of horror she had been thru you would think that would change her character but her light just shines thru. Screwy is tortured mostly be the incident from his childhood that he has never told anyone which kept apart from other people, only talking to his twin.
When the guys go to the auction, they expect to finds Storm's sister, she was supposed to be in lot five. When Screwy sees Lydia he has to bid on her, and goes all the way to the top of their budget but does not win. He is determined to save her and takes out several guards in the process. When Lydia asks him a question, he answers her, this starts him talking to others.
Lydia and Screwy are are perfect for each other, she knows he is a good person even if he does not. He will fight her every step of the way, thinking he is not good enough for her because of what he has done in the past, even though he comes to love her.
This book has some very harsh subject matter that some may find triggering. There are parts when you just want to hug him, as the little boy inside still has some very open wounds. I cannot wait to see where the author takes the story next.
Holy moly this series just continues to keep me hooked and begging for more! Everytime I read one of the story I think it cant get better than this and then bam the next blows me away!! As much as I've loved each and every brother I have a huge soft spot for Nyx and knew it would take someone special to push him off my top spot...then along comes Screwy and does just that!!! Screwy is strong, silent and fighting the biggest demons ever.. life has been beyond hard and only brother Squealer has kept him going over the years. Lydia is at the lowest she can be after a tragic event has happened to her and just when believes its all over, along comes the biggest badest alpha biker to fight her corner!!! Seeing Screwy come into himself and slay those demons was just beautiful!!! We knew his story would be intense and those heart strings were pulled all over the place while reading. Emma Creed just never fails to disappoint and I feel like I could read about The Dirty Souls forever! *Read as part of KU*
Freaking Fantastic Ride!! Absolutely Love Screwy & Lydia!! ❤️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review
OMG what a ride. This was an absolutely amazing but darker Emma Creed book. This is Screwy’s story and it’s definitely not for the faint at heart. There are some emotional and tragic moments in this story. Especially when it comes to his past. Screwy is sent in to buy Storms sister at an auction but instead buys another women when he can’t find Storms sister. Lydia instantly pulled at his heartstrings and he just knew he had to have her in his life. Their attraction and chemistry is instant and intense. Lydia remembers nothing from before her training and knows nothing except abuse and fear, but as soon as she’s saved by Screwy all she feels is safe and cared for. Their story is absolutely phenomenal even with all the darkness that haunts them. Can’t wait for Riley’s story next in Stolen Soul. If you love Emma Creed’s books or even if you’ve never read her books this is an absolute must read in fact this entire series is a must read. Highly recommend this!!
💙 A Tortured, badass biker MC 💙 An innocent FMC who’s been through hell 💙 Age Gap 💙 Taboo 💙 Dark Romance 💙 Rip your heart out and put it back together
Screwy and Lydia’s story had me captivated from page 1. This book tore my heart to shreds and took me a lot longer to read than normal because I couldn’t see through my tears. It also put it back together again in the most beautiful way!
Screwy and Lydia had been through so much before they met each other that watching their relationship develop had me wanting to hold my breath. I don’t think I have ever been cheering on a couple as much as I have them. Although I seem to say that after each of @authoremmacreed books
If you love dark, gritty, emotional reads with just the right amount of spice then this is the series for you!!

Start the ride today with book 1 in the Dirty Souls MC Series - Lost Soul
These two tortured souls are going to save each other... or die trying.
When he saw her, something in his chest flipped. That can't be right though, that organ stopped feeling anything long ago. When fate forces your hand you act. Taking her from the enemy is going to start a war, with the Club and the men who want her back.
This man doesn't strike fear and obedience in her like her trainer did. Her first look at him, she sees a dark angel who she believes will be her salvation from the hell she's been forced into. If only she can convince him that he has a heart worth saving.
Emma Creed delivers a blockbuster every time. Screwy and his undying loyalty will leave you with tears and breathless. This book is definitely one you will not put down til the last page.
The backstory will give you chills, the heat is incinerating and the Souls deliver, once again, their own unique take on family. They are the definition of Ride or Die. Absolute 10 stars.
What a World Emma Creed has Created! These Dirty Souls own my Damn Soul. When they hurt I hurt. When they find redemption, peace and love I'm so here for it all. Tortured Soul is Screwy and Lydia's story and gosh my heart ached for these two. Both of them have equally heartbreaking backstories that ultimately bring them together. They both have demons after experiencing pain, loss and other gut-wrenching situations no one should ever have to experience in their entire life. Throughout the series Screwy has been a quiet and reserved character who hasn't spoken a word out loud to anyone except his twin brother. But..... Will the sweet and slightly naive Lydia be the one to heal this tortured soul and get his heart and words? Or... When ghosts resurface will this tortured soul decide some scars are simply too deep to heal and therefore he can't be the man she deserves and needs? Well... Without dropping spoilers I will say their dark and yet beautiful story took me on a journey about survival, forgiveness, redemption, trust, healing, family and love. Once again, Emma had me feeling all the emotions!!! I cried, I held my breath, I gasped in shock, I laughed, I got a little frustrated, I swooned, and god damn I rooted hard for these two. And.... I can't even deny but my crush on badass Rogue (another heroine) just grew even more. God I love her and all of her batshit craziness.
This was another amazing addition to one of my already favourite series. Each character has a role, each character is unique and each character you can't help but love. The underlying storylines and the characters yet to get a HEA have me desperate and excited for more Dirty Souls.
Some very dark moments are depicted, some pretty explicitly. Screw goes from literally only speaking with his twin brother to speaking to everyone after rescuing a woman from being auctioned. Watching them both grow into each other was awesome. He tried so hard to push her away or keep her at arm’s length for a while. I like her fate belief. His history is as horrific as hers, just in a different way. I hate that he keeps these huge and horrible secrets from his brother, but he does have good reasons for it. Wow, were those details awful. I did wonder why no one said anything about the one who shared details that led to some certain problems. I am hoping maybe that is addressed in the next book since that whole situation is not wrapped up. Mostly told from Lydia and Screw’s points of view, but there are others thrown in there too. Interesting ending.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the 7th book of the Dirty Souls MC series from Emma Creed, this story is about Screwy. Again, I appreciate Emma Creed for her recaps, authors with series should do this as it helps to refresh our memories.
Read the triggers warnings for this one, it tackled sensitive and hard to read topics.
The title is so fitting for Screwy. The stories of both of the main characters in this series are truly heartbreaking. The flashbacks were needed to understand why Screwy is this way. The pairing for him made so much sense. She was perfect to heal this tortured soul.
There are multiple big sides stories that are connected in this series and I am glad to see that the author chose to focus one of them even though I am eagerly waiting to see what will happen to the big bad traitor.
I really recommend to read the books in order to be able to understand the stories and characters. While book 1 still holds the spot of most heart crushing story, this one clearly come as 2nd.
So here's a good example of how good this book is and why it's on my top reads list.... It's 5.30am and every time I tried to force myself to get some sleep like a normal person I couldn't help lying to myself with saying 'oh just one more chapter'. Look how well that turned out... Yet again this was a rollercoaster ride of emotions from cover to cover. The strength, resilience and courage of both the main characters will inspire you. What a life they've lived. This book was everything I was hoping for and so much more, remember the golden rule of reading books by this author, never let your guard down. Also the subject matter of one of the plot threads, may be a difficult subject matter for some, but the author handled it with dignity and grace. As usual definitely recommend especially if you start from the first in the series.
