Bloody Cruel Monster

Rate this book
It will end the same way it started … with death.

Clover

I gave Braxton Smalls everything. I sacrificed myself and all I ended up with was a broken heart and a shattered soul. Now, I’ve got bigger things to worry about than an angry Eastpoint Heir hot on my trail.

Brax may be the psycho who kidnapped me–but he’s nothing compared to the organization my brother works for.

And me? I’m the monster ready to wreck them all.

Braxton

I live for vengeance. That's all I know, all I see. Until her. Until Clover La Roux. No … until Evgenia Volkov. Daughter of a Russian mobster. Sister to the man who tortured one of my best friends. The only woman to ever satisfy the cruel desires inside of me.

Whoever took her will pay with their lives. And once I have her back, I’ll make sure she can never leave me again. Consequences be damned.

Awwwwww I want to scream ! Clover is my favorite girl in the series so far. What a ride this book was. This picks up right after the events of the first book and its full of action, background story and crazy love. Braxton is the one that hurt Clover the most in a very cruel way, but can he let her go ? NO ! He is so obsessed that he literally can’t see straight. He blacks out under his own destruction and thank God he has Dean and Abel because he is going down to hell and bringing everyone with him. He needs Clover and she wants NOTHING to do with him. She loves him but she has enough self respect to not want him and I admire this in her. She rather suffer whatever happens next than let Brax treat it her the way he was doing. This girl is brave, amazing and a fighter. As much as Ava is not relatable because of the way she was written, in Clover’s case is almost like the author learned what she did wrong with Ava and then made completely right with Clover. Clover has basically the same background as Ava , same confrontational nature and fighter personality, but she has soft sides and you understand and can somewhat relate to her. This books is explosive! I loved it . So far Brax books are my favorites. The whole mystery with the undead organization, the situation with Ace being Clover’s brother, is just crazy and amazing. Can’t wait listen to the last book, I have a felling Luc will have my heart.

It’s no secret that my love for the Sick Boys runs deep but I gotta say, @authorlucysmoke really outdid herself with the second part of Brax’s duet - Bloody Cruel Monster!

Clover is in the hands of the enemy, blood has been shed, and their only hope at saving her comes in the form of an enemy. That seemed to be a theme I really enjoyed - putting aside past differences to unite against a common enemy.

This was one hell of a roller coaster, but the shining star was the dynamic between Brax and Clover. Both stubborn and strong, but Brax wants to lock Clover down and Clover … well our independent little badass wants to fly! The give and take sucked me in and the tension and heat was SO hot!

I can’t recommend this series enough! Each character is perfectly imperfect, carrying the scars from a life exposed to darkness, and yet they still each have goodness in them, unbreakable loyalty to their partner and friends. A must read for sure! Now we count down to Luc 😁

I’ve been waiting for part 2 of Brax and Clover’s story for months. Brax may be the darkest, craziest and most dangerous of all the Sick Boys. These two are a perfect match made in He**. They’re both fearless, hard headed, dark and perfect for one another. I loved how these two did not come together willingly, but deep down, both knew from day one they belonged to the other. This book was filled with darkness, angst and heart pounding suspense. I knew these two wouldn’t get their HEA without a wild and depraved ride. This story had me fighting through my bedtime until after 1am , only putting it down when I kept dropping my kindle on my face.
The spice was perfect, Brax and Clover’s chemistry was off the charts. Together they are fire, absolute madness.
The ending couldn’t have been written any more perfectly. Their story was tied up just as I had hoped, yet ended with a cliffhanger that I wasn’t expecting. I’m sad that this couple’s story is concluded, I love them so much I wished it would never end. The development of these characters, and the development of their relationship was so good. Being inside their heads was a crazy ride, but also made us understand why they are wired the way they are.
This book is part of the Sick Boys series, it can not be read as a standalone.
Heed by the trigger warnings. This book is very dark, violent and may be triggering.
This author is brilliant. I haven’t read one thing by her that I wasn’t immediately hooked to. She makes her characters so easy to become obsessed with and feel like you’re right there in their world with them. This series is GOLD.
If you like bully romance, with a lot of darkness, you have to read this. This is one of my top recommended bully romance series.
An easy 5 ⭐️ !

Lucy has done it again! She continues to amaze me with each book she puts out, no matter the series. This series, The Sick Boys series continues to be one of my all time favorites by her. Each book of this series is a bloody and dark themed bully romance that I continue to LOVE!! The characters continue to grow and become better with each story, I love that she builds all of her characters into the stories even when the focus is on a different main character. This story is Brax and Clovers “sequel/second” book. I said it in Brad’s first book and I’ll say it again, there is just something about him that calls to me. Maybe it’s the bad***, jerkish attitude, maybe it’s his sheer size and stature, heck maybe it’s the dang hair, I’m not sure to be honest… probably all of the above, but he just does it for me. He continues to be his bada** self in this story with his over bearing need to control things but we also see a ton of character growth as he learns to let Clover fly and prove herself. He shows vulnerability that makes us all fall moser in love with him. As for clover she proves to be freaking EPIC! Such an amazing strong female lead. This continues to be a theme for all of the women in this series if you ask me and it’s one of the main points as to why I fall for all of the female characters as well. This girl is not afraid of the monsters around her or for her future. She faces everything with her shoulders back, her head standing tall on her shoulders and a wicked smile that welcomes the chaos. It’s so easy to fall into her character and to see how the two of them love each other even when they didn’t want to admit it. The action in this book is intense with a ton of violence (reader beware if your not into it) but those that love this stuff… wooftah it is HOT! Perfectly written to the point where it seems too far out but also at the same time totally plausible! I could totally handle myself the same as our characters in these scenes… maybe… okay probably not but I like to think I could! Lol
Overall another amazing book in the series’s. With a cliffhanger to leave us with i can’t wait to see what comes next!

Clover’s story

Love her, love Clover Evgenia, she’s given more power in this series and all for it. Of course ends on a cliffhanger but also brings up a lost story from book 1 and can’t wait to get into!

“I wanna be inside, sink into her depths, fuck until she cries or bleeds or both.”

“My pussy doesn’t understand that we shouldn’t want the monster that stands behind us like a violent knight in blackened armor ready to defend us and break the bones of anyone who dares to touch us.”

Clover escapes Brax and returns to the scene of his original crime. His betrayal stings deep, and her rage is unbridled. Now, the Undead have found her. In rival territory, she’s once again at a disadvantage.

The Undead knows Clover is a means to an end, a way to rip apart the one thing Ace holds dear. When Ace realizes the repercussions of his actions, he quickly understands saving Clover means forming an enemy alliance.

Braxton refuses to let anyone take what he’s claimed. He will decimate the world for her. He is our twisted and depraved avenging Angel.

Clover is fierce, an independent badass; her monsters glee with delight as their time to shine, or shred, has come. She fights like an enraged lioness, and she’ll be damned if she depends on anyone for her salvation, especially Brax.

Brax and Clover are in a constant war. They are both stubborn and headstrong, their walls deeply impenetrable. Brax has definitely met his match in Clover. But if he holds too tightly, it will rip her from his grasp. She craves her freedom enough to walk.

Brax wrestles his insatiable need for dominance over Clover. His gut reaction is to lock her up, loving her immediate fight, making his blood boil and lighting his veins on fire. He constantly battles for control. Eventually, we see glimpses of vulnerability and his decision to break himself wide open for her.

These two don’t make excuses or apologize for who they are, and I love that! They are both crazy, savage, twisted, and unapologetically messy.

The story has a lot of action, a fair amount of violence, and the steamy scenes were HAWT, but I didn’t feel like this was as dark as I expected. I also thought there’d be more naughty scenes!

Now that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy the book; I did. I was just hoping for more of all the things that make Brax the sexy, alluring psycho he is!

I'm kind of conflicted, so we'll say 3.5 rounded up to 4? Stars are meaningless so this is gonna be word vomit but YOLO.

So like, I liked this. I liked it way more than the first book in this duology, but I don't know, there was still something missing. It felt like a lot of telling me things? And not enough showing? Like, I was told repeatedly how obsessed Brax was with Clover, and I was told repeatedly how deep their connection went, but I never .....saw it. I still don't buy their relationship after two books and instead it just feels like it was this weird obsession after he kidnapped her and then it never evolved from there because, if the two of them weren't together and f*cking, they weren't in the same room or building or environment and so I never really SAW them connect. We got close once or twice (that cemetery scene I am WEEPING), and those moments definitely helped, but I wish there had been more of them. That growth is what I really wanted and it felt lacking. (And the knife play. Where was the knife play?!)

The plot was great, even if slightly repetitive and spirally at times, but it was a lot of action, a lot of badass moments (especially for Clover) and I truly truly loved the conclusion, and all of that is what made it easy for me to say I liked this book. It was wild, and I will always love these characters, and even knowing everything would be okay I was still s t r e s s e d the entire time. There are some chunks I think could have been shaved out, but they were easy enough to skim and get back into it that I didn't lose too much of my flow. I'm also very happy this felt less like a book about how wonderful Ava was, because that girl got her trilogy and we were able to let Clover shine.

So, overall, I wanted more from this, but it was still enjoyable and steamy and insane and I am excited for the next one since OBVIOUSLY after that ENDING I need to know how our next anti-hero gets his heart handed to him. Probably in a blender.

Bloody Cruel Monster is the sixth book in the Sick Boys series and the second half of Brax and Clover's story. You don't have to have read the first four books but I highly recommend it b/c they are all amazing. You do absolutely have to have read Bloody Cruel Psycho though.

So in BCM, we pick up where we left off in BCP. Brax is on a mission to get back what is his. He underestimates our little Clover though. She doesn't need someone to come save her. The only thing she has ever NEEDED was someone to choose her. Brax however, is set on finding and saving her. The only way he can do this, is to turn to someone he never wanted to rely on. Brax has to set his ego and his own personal feelings aside to save the one he loves.

There are so many things I want to say about this book. So many amazing moments that happened. As always though I don't want to spoil anything. I will say that Lucy, as always, has done an amazing job. These two characters are such a hot mess of dark and twistiness. To be able to make us love them and to bring them together is magic. It's not always about "fixing" someone. Sometimes it's about accepting the darkness within you and knowing that you are still loved. That's what these two do for each other and it's absolutely beautiful.

Now it's for sure a bloody, twisted, dark ride. The obstacles these characters face are never easy. It was an amazing ride though. I love being inside their heads and learning all the things. Especially Brax. He is by far my favorite Sick Boy.

Then the ending. Yes this was the conclusion of Brax and Clover's story but that doesn't mean we got an ending to feel warm and fuzzy about. Our dear Lucy wouldn't let us off that easy. She's got us already chomping at the bit for the next book in the series. It's gonna be a hot one for sure!

This is the second book in Clover and Brax's story, read previous book first. This series world-building is mind-blowing, I love it so much, this Sick boys have stolen my heart, I really enjoyed Clover and Brax's story, all the twist and turns had me hooked and didn't let me go until the end. Now I need more answers to the more questions I have. So good, just be aware of the triggers if you have any, this series might not be up for you. Otherwise I'm sure you are going to love the ride.

There is alot to unpack with this book but wow it was spectacular.

The suspense and the intensity was amazing and really well done!

Braxton and Clover have had a rough start, the connection they are both intensely fighting is real no matter how much they don't want to believe it.

These two are like yin and yang, they balance each other out so well.

There is so much going on with this crew, it was refreshing to see Dean and Ava haven't changed, like at all. Abel and Rylie too for that matter. I knew this story was going to be suspenseful with the way Bloody Cruel Psycho ended but I was pleasantly shocked at how things played out. I did not expect any of that. I love that Luc redeemed himself so to speak and I can't wait to see where his story goes! I know it is going to be good. I was always a fan of him and wanted his story from the beginning.

I don't want to give all the details of this story away due to spoilers so I will leave this vague but the story was so good, the drama, the suspense, the adventures.. so good!

I have loved this series so much and am not ready for it to be over. I feel a connection with these characters and love them so dearly. They all deserve so much out of life after all they have been through. I am going to miss them as if they were real.

I’ve been eagerly anticipating this conclusion to Brax and Clover’s story and it did not disappoint. Clover has got to be my favorite FMC in a long time. I love everything about her. Her grit, her strength, her beauty, nd her brokenness. All of it. She and Brax together are fire. I love how this story incorporates everything that’s happened in the Sick Boys series so flawlessly. We finally put a face to the Undead and the story takes off from there. So many questions were answered, characters redeemed… or removed lol. But with that ending, I now have so many NEW questions that I can’t wait to find out the answers for in Luc’s book. Luc’s getting a book, y’all! I’m so stoked. And the only reason I’m not sobbing at this being the end of Braxton and Clover’s is because I hope to see more of them in the next book. Lucy has masterfully intertwined all of these stories and I just don’t want this world to ever end.

Bloody Cruel Monster picks up where the previous book left us, with Clover having been kidnapped but an unknown. Clover ran from Braxton because he broke his promise to her and although Braxton may be hot on her tail, Clover has bigger things to worry about. Braxton may be the psycho Eastpoint heir but he’s nothing compared to the organisation that her brother Ace works for. The Undead want to recruit Clover but she would rather die than be locked in a prison once more.
Clovers works to escape as Braxton works to save her, but does she really want to be saved by the man that kidnapped her?

♥️ Kidnap
♥️ Secret Society
♥️ Enemies to Lovers

Clover is a fucking badass. She doesn’t sit by and wait for someone to save her or fight for her. Not Brax. Not Ace. Not the sick boys. She doesn’t want to follow in her fathers’ and brothers’ footsteps, and she will go down fighting. I absolutely loved her attitude and how strong she was. Her compassion able was outstanding too, always willing to help those less fortunate than herself. At times I wanted to slap her because she wasn’t seeing what was right in front of her face but eventually, she wears her crown just as like Ava and Rylie.
Braxton really struggles with his need for control, he wants to keep Clover locked up forever, but he knows she must choose to stay if their relationship is to continue. The monster and man within him war completely throughout and he becomes a beautifully crafted psycho by the end.
Fierce loyalty, dark hearts and determination are the crux of Clover and Brax’s conclusion, for anyone who loves dark romance this is sinfully perfect.

When Clover is taken by the organization Braxton will stop at nothing to find her and keep her by his side. Clover is a survivor and can handle herself, she doesn’t just lay down and play dead she kicks a$$ and keeps moving forward.

Pain and pleasure, love and hate, night and day. They say opposites attract but with Braxton and Clover these two are the one and the same. Two halves that make up a whole lot of havoc.

Revenge, vengeance, sadness and forgiveness are the emotions you feel as the pages turn.
Lots of action, drama, suspense and the steam will keep you entranced in this book.

I’m so excited to see that there will be another book coming to this series!

Lucy I can’t believe this series is coming to an end !!!! While Dean and Avalon will forever be my favorite of the group, Clover (Evgenia) and Brax definitely are runner ups. Please check the trigger warnings because this book was insane (all of them are) but also action packed right until the very end.

I love how all of the books end because although we are moving on to the next couple, the previous characters are still coming along for the ride, so there is no true ending.

Clover is my girl, she did what was necessary but Evgenia was bad ass! I loved how we got a glimpse of a split personality that matched Braxs psychotic nature. I mean you put two psychos together and the world turns to chaos 😂.

Brax baby I love you but I did except things to be a little darker when it came to him. He kind of folded like a piece of paper for Clover and I wish we got more past trauma and torture from him.

Overall though I loved the action and push and pull through both books and can’t wait to read about Luc and Micki.
Avalon is gonna be SHOOOK when she finds out and I can’t waiiiitttttt!

God I love this series so much, highly recommend if you like secret society, bad ass heirs, and a bunch of college kids doing crazy ass shit lmao 😂

OMG! This was everything I have been waiting for when it comes to the continuation of Brax and Clover’s crazy story. It was one hell of a dark and twisted rollercoaster ride that had me completely and utterly engrossed with it. I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with anticipation of every twisted turn their story takes, and holding my breath hoping that they would get their happy ever after or something close to it.

I loved all of the sexual tension between Brax and Clover, it was so thick you could cut it with a knife. These two had my toes curling and my panties melting throughout. The heat that was coming off my kindle was highly explosive and had me needing at times to take a break to cool off!

The story was thrilling, dangerous, drama and angst filled, violent, steamy and the characters are unhinged, damaged and oh so perfectly imperfect. I loved every second of Brax and Clover’s story and then after that epilogue ending WTF now I need more!

Bang! Just a big massive freaking bang is how Lucy Smoke finished Braxtons duet!!!

We have known throughout the Sick Boys Series - which I highly recommend you go back and read!! But yes, throughout the series, we have known Braxton has been the quiet psychopath, he's cruel, twisted, unfeeling, blank and oh so hot!!

On his mission to avenge what happened to Avalon, he tracks down Clover who he is to use as bait. Which is all in book 1, but here?
Here is when he gets hit up the face with a brick and finally realises he's head over heels - but it looks like it's too late...

Clover / Evgenia is the female version of Braxton!! That girl kicks a$$!! Sometimes I wanted to string her up myself, she seemed to switch sides very quickly for my liking but I think that's just me being pinickety!
But other than that, the girl is as tough as they come - and her and Braxton are so damn perfect for each other. Two slightly deranged, twisted, viciously kinky and unrepentant people who just fit together.

The storyline had me gripped, it's full of action, violence, passion, s3x, twists and is downright addictive!!

And I'm so excited for more!!!.

This is the 6th book in the Sick Boys Series, and boy oh boy is it a good one! I have seriously been hooked on this dark and intriguing series since book one, but seem to only get more obsessed with each book.

I honestly cannot pick one or two things that I love most about this book, because I loved it all. The storyline, the characters, the intrigue, the suspense, the character and relationship development, the world building, the s*xiness! I loved all that and so much more!

As always, please heed the trigger warnings, this is a dark romance after all. That being said, if you like your reads steam filled, inky, and with incredible characters and storyline, then I absolutely recommend this book. Personally, I cannot wait for more!

Dark, depraved and absolutely delicious!

Starting this off by saying if you’re here you have read book one- if not go do that now and then come back. Please be aware this book is dark, it definitely deals with subjects that will be triggering to some readers, but if you’re familiar with this author it’s no surprise and I am here for every sentence.

These two are so freaking good together. I loved watching Clover embrace who she is- this girl gives Avalon a run for her money and I loved it. Braxton also developed unapologetically- he is the monster he always thought he was but with his girl by his side he’s okay. This story is action packed, full of suspense and angst that keeps you flipping the pages and the chemistry and spicy was wickedly delicious!

Can’t wait for what’s next in the Sick Boys world after that ending.

Dark romance- check triggers!!

This was an absolute amazing way to end Clover and Brax story. I truly didn’t want it to end, so I drew out my readings. I have never done that before. I loved this world, the characters, and the writing.

I don’t think any review will give justice to how outstanding this story was. There was constant action, tons of smut, and every single one of my emotions was involved. I honestly didn’t think I’d truly ever love Brax as much as I do now. He’s perfect for Clover.

That epilogue has me so giddy. I’m so ready for the next story! I hope we see too what happens with Ace and the undead. I have so many unanswered questions, and I can’t wait for the next duet in the series!

I don't think I was wholly prepared for the epic conclusion to the original three Sick Boys. A series that has been a top read for me since the beginning and likely will as we continue to get more from this world. Braxton and Clover are a match made in hell even if they had to fight (both themselves and outside enemies) to get there. Bloody Cruel Monster was everything I've loved out of the Sick Boys Series. It has violence and explosions, some very hot steamy moments, and a whole lot of connections being made. I don't think I'll ever get enough of Eastpoint!

The second instalment in Brax and Clovers story was awesome.
I love when Brax knows hes lost her, then he finds where she is only to lose her again, then to fine her and get her to safety only to lose her to the enemy AGAIN. Gives you all those "ill burn the whole world down for her" vibes.
I always figured Avalon's old friend Micki was Lucs missing girl and i love how thats going to tie them all back together in the end. She was in the first book and her story will be told in the last... and I can not freaking wait.

Lucy never fails to deliver on the dark romance homefront with the Sick Boys series. Bloody Cruel Monster is the final installment of Braxton and Clover's story.

This story will grab you by the collar and have your complete attention the entire time. I love Lucy's writing, as it will immerse you into their world with the rich details.

As we know from previous books, Braxton is rather unhinged and we love those types of characters, don't we? In reality, it would be a red flag. However, in a book, we are safe to worship the psychopathic status that Braxton maintains.

In this duet, Brax finally has his lightbulb moment and realizes he can feel. He may not be a cinnamon roll, but he's the perfect soul mate for Clover. Clover was a strong and bada$$ heroine. I felt her loyalties wavered a bit, but characters with flaws are way more interesting to read about.

Clover and Braxton together are pure fire. They compliment each other's wicked ways. The on page chemistry is palatable. It's getting increasingly difficult to write about this book without divulging the details. All you really need to know is there's vi0lence, page-turning action, a ton of love, but you know..... Brax and Clover have their own special version of it.

Love, love, loved this book. The perfect ending for a couple that's imperfect. But! Wait! There's more. Go check out pre-orders.

This was as dark and twisted as I had hoped it would be.

Brax is fearless, hard-headed, holding so much rage and hurt, and all of this is so perfectly mirrored in Clover. They are just as messed up as the other, and you can truly feel their connection jumping off the page. While I will ALWAYS love Dean and Avalon… Brax and Clover are without a doubt my favourite couple of the series. They just fit together so well and from day one, even with the situation that brought them together, you could feel that ‘die for you’ love between them.

They are chaotic and wild and fire-y and full of angst – and I love it.

Thank you so much to Lucy for giving me an eARC! I cannot wait for the prequel with Viks, and the epilogue ending has left me DYING for the next book in the series.

What a conclusion to Clover and Braxton's story! This was dark, twisted and seriously hot & steamy.......just what i have come to expect from Lucy's writing.
Braxton is dark, deadly and probably the most depraved of the sick boys, yet Clover is so crazy and stubborn she actually suits him perfectly. I loved how she put Brax through the ringer before she forgave him and how we see a different side to him as he fights to get her back! The plot had it all and kept me hooked from start to finish! As a lover of dark romance, this ticked EVERY box!!

Bloody Cruel Monster by Lucy Smoke is book 6 in the Sick Boys Series. This continues the story of Clover La Roux and Braxton Smalls. So you will need to at least read the previous book 'Bloody Cruel Psycho' before starting this one. I do think it added to my enjoyment to read the series as a whole too but at the very least read the previous book. This book and series is a dark read so do remember to be aware if you have issues with dark reads. I really enjoyed this series and this book just added to that enjoyment.

This book was an amazing read that sucked me in and kept me reading until the end. It moves along at a speed which is perfect for the flow of the story. It has interesting characters that you will love and you want to be there for them and a story that will keep you reading no matter what. This book needs to be on your TBR list, no doubt about it.

Do you want a good kind of psycho? Brax and Clover have one hell of a dynamic. What does he do when she gets taken? He looks towards his enemy. A little bit something good always comes out of a little bit something bad.
