从君记 is the sequel to 贵女撩夫攻略 The Noble Woman’s Guide On How to Tease One’s Husband which follows the life of YHY & Jinglan’s son, Xing'er, the crown prince of Chu dynasty.
Years have passed and Chu Xing is now twenty years old yet the constant wars persist. The imperial army is now tasked with the responsibility of defeating their enemies whilst simultaneously rescuing the refugees who belong to the Chu empire, yet are stuck amidst the war-torn towns.
Yue Lingxi’s entire Yue clan had been eradicated when her uncle, who happened to be a minister at the court was involved in some crime atleast a decade ago. Sentenced, even her family consisting of her dear parents and younger sister were exiled to never enter the kingdom again. Unfortunately for the young girl, her entire family passed away in no time, leaving her all alone until she was befriended by a woman and her daughter. Soon the two girls become close sisters until Duanmuzheng had to leave.
But three months have passed without her hearing a word from Duanmuzheng. An anxious Lingxi is now determined to make her way back to the capital. Back to the Chu empire.
• Lingxi is a basic chick. And I'm here for it. She can't boast of any extraordinary talents that all other female leads from light novels seem to possess, yet the author makes her character seem very charming.
• Thanks to having grown-up surrounded by the tremendous love his parents share (no harem), Xing'er is a talented young man who's not afraid to take risks for his country and his people. The ML is quite humorous yet successfully maintains the “royalty aura”, whatever that is.
• Again, the second couple have a like its predecessor.
• HEA for the main couple!
• Devoted male lead who is suspiciously quite similar to his mother in that department. It's a 1v1 romance w/o OM or OW.

1/4/12 - ok so I think this is called A Gentleman's Reflection and it's the sequel to "The Noble Woman’s Guide On How to Tease One’s Husband" - lol one thought I had was 😅 glad I read them kinda separately cuz all those connections and so many of them being cousins and ... :X I'm way too modern for that.
ANYWAY. I really enjoyed that our ML not only fell first he was smitten from basically go. It BROKE MY HEART how little FL valued herself, and/but it cracked me up how often she was like "ok I'll leave you forever"/she tried to leave. Aahhaha.
I was a bit disappointed at how much it focused on ~everyone else at the end ... like obviously they were there but it felt way more background which in part is why I gave it four stars/maybe largely.
I'd def re-read it though.
(>.> I also felt FL didn't get enough credit for breaking that blood formation which was ALSO a key part of the battles...) Oh our poor girl. <3

C14 - so it’s a Ye family symbol - the pendant & FL just realized the guy is the emperor 😅 (and… is her friend… loyal to Chu? Is she really married to prince Ning?)
And the little Gu boy she saved found her again! ❤️
Daaaaaahhhh!!! C17 lol panda sagas continue! Current panda in the palace has the name of ML - I def think he’s fallen. He made FL his ~first female official - and one of her tasks is to care for the panda! ❤️
C18 omg he gave her his jade ring & allowed her access to his parents former palace 😹😱😹💯❤️ - I love how clueless she is. Very straightforward… interesting that she’s … a plain Jane? 🤷🏻♀️
😹😹😅 c20 I shouldn’t laugh but FL trying to leave ML *AGAIN* is making me chuckle. C19 - loved how ML was getting hot & bothered seeing FL in summer wear. Glad he’s smitten & thinks she’s smokin’.
My heart felt stabbed by FL’s foster sister’s words - even in worry they just were … so cruel. Then that goddamn wave showed FL was tattooed even unjustly. I hope ML publicly overturns the case. 😭

Ahhhh I’m actually mad there isn’t more! I’m also sad we didn’t end with more focus on ML & FL. Would’ve loved to see them have a daughter. I liked the side stories/other couples but not at the expense of not getting more from ML & FL especially since all the assholes all still thought nothing of FL. Stupid “noble ladies” push them in the pond. 😡
