Welcome to the Candy shop Where poison never tasted so sweet...
Being a Candy Girl is more than just a job, it’s who I am. But before I became Reese I was known as Malice, the street kid who killed a man before disappearing without a trace. Now seven years later a serial killer is using those same streets as his hunting ground. To catch him, I’ll have to go back to where it all began To the place that was both my salvation and my downfall Stepping out of the shadows means facing the people I left behind Like the boys that once had my back, Boys who grew into men that now threaten my heart. But as both my worlds collide My quest to catch a killer inadvertently paints a target on all our backs. Making me realize too late That some ghosts really should stay dead.
Authors note: Reese is living the peen dream meaning she can have her peen-flavored cake and eat it too. If you are looking for a straight-up M/F romance, you might want to check out one of my other books. However, if you like lots of different c…cakes then enjoy!
Triggers: This book does contain some dark themes so please proceed with caution. Due to its content, this book is only suitable for people over the age of eighteen.
I really wish I liked this more and it looks like I'm in the minority... Unfortunately the FMC gave off pick-me vibes (putting down girls who go to the gym in makeup, making her love of donuts a personality trait, she's "cranky and opinionated," - literally her own words, and overall just "isn't like other girls" 🙄). The amount of times something like this came up was so off-putting.
There was also no chemistry between her and the men yet she was walking around wet the entire time. In the first handful of spicy scenes, there's barely any foreplay but she's gushing for them. 2 of the men are from her past but she was underage for the majority of the time she knew them and they were both 5+ years older than her. At multiple points, one of the guys talks about how much he wanted her back then but couldn't act on it bc she was too young. Ew.
And finally, the pacing of the plot was horrendous. She goes back to her hometown to investigate the disappearances of homeless and troubled youth... gets sidetracked by dick and from like 15-70% it's them exploring their new relationships and every so often fighting in matches to get them qualified for the main event that's the climax of the story. But before we even get to that main fight, there are a couple time jumps of SEVERAL months and you're sitting there like... what tf is going on??
Honestly, it was just boring. 95% of CW's books I enjoy but this is being shelved as a huge miss (along with Twisted Vows and Toxic Whispers).
I will still continue to read CW but I'm not sure how much longer I can call her one of my favorite authors 💔
The Candy Shop girls' stories continue and I love it! Reese's story was easy to read and I quite enjoyed it. It was steamy, with a dose of massacre and a some blood... The ending was somewhat fast and I would have liked it more if there was a little more, as it felt a little rushed. Overall, I'm curious to read the next book in the series.
Loved this book and Reese. She’s tough as nails and a fighter on an illegal circuit. She doesn’t need men to protect her, but she also values the guys that come to mean so much to her and how they take care of her in a variety of ways. The plot in this book is extremely fast paced. There’s an overarching mystery and lots of sex and fighting. The male leads are both flawed and irresistible, especially Graves in my opinion. Often with RH books the male leads don’t all get equal time in the story or character development. This leads to a reader jot connecting or caring about one or more of them. This author is a master of RH, you end up loving and caring for all of the guys and can’t imagine the heroine without them.
This book dragged me down to the world of unground fighting and kept me pinned to the mat until it had told its tale. This is the 2nd book in the Candy Girl series by Candice and it is another hit for these lovely ladies! I would say you don’t have to read the first book in the series to read this one, but I highly recommend that you do. Reese is such a strong character and I don’t mean just physically. She came from a rough background, just like all the other Candy Girls, but has not let that define her. She knows her worth and is proud of who she is. Her men respect who she is and don’t try to change her. Candice has this ability to write strong, independent characters who somehow are able to form a cohesive unit that you couldn’t picture any other way. The dark story is broken up by bits of humor that doesn’t take away from the story, but enhances it. It shows a wide range of emotions that you feel along with the characters. It has angst, drama, spice, love, humor, spice, a lion, a crocodile, and did I mention the spice???? Candice isn’t afraid to touch on subjects most would be hesitant to touch. Not only does she touch on them, but she handles them in way that packs an impact with the reader. She never claims to know everything and neither do her characters. That may be one reason they are so relatable. The Candy Girls are quickly becoming one of my favorite series!
I've missed the candy girls! Dulce was one of my top fave reads last May and I had been anticipating the next book in the Candy Shop series ever since. When I found out it was about Reese, I couldn't keep my excitement in!
We first meet Reese in the first book, and she was one of the Candy girls and Dulce's closest friend. She came off as a cold, emotionless savage, who was deadly and lethal, ready to kill for her girls - the people who matter most to her.
I was so pleased to read about her roots and history. With this, I was able to understand her better, as well as her personality. Of course, she was a badass. And of course, as I got to know her better, I came to sympathize and relate to her.
A huge part of the book was dedicated to her and her men - Blink, Vega, Graves, and Law - as this was a reverse harem book, and I found it appropriate seeing that a huge part of the conflict was Reese having to confront her emotions and thus opening up herself to other people.
In this sense, this book was different from Dulce where the plot was heavily influenced by the characters. Reese resolved the matter with her relationship with the guys before we move on to the action-packed part.
The slow build to the climax (no pun intended) was thrilling, and so worth the wait. It was amazing to also see not only Reese in action, but her guys as well.
The smut was unbearably spicy that I had to pause a number of times because I was overwhelmed. I was also very happy to read about Dulce and her guys even if they only had a cameo.
Reese was as entertaining with its comic relief as Dulce, and I cannot wait to read more of the Candy girls (fingers crossed it's gonna be about Lollie).
Please check your triggers as this book contains mature and disturbing scenes.
This is the second book in this series. They can be read as standalone books. This book just the first one is a reverse harem. One girl and 4 guys. Unlike in the first one there doesn’t seem to be one in charge and none of them take a back seat. However, they all give her something different. Two of them Reese knew as a girl, one she even had a crush on. Reese is on a case that takes her back to where she grew up. Her now is going to clash with her past. But she needs to find out what is happening to the people there. People are disappearing and she doesn’t think they are just moving on to a better life. Something bad is going on and she wants to stop it. Will Reese and her men be able to figure out what is going on before something happens to ne of them? Another fantastic book Candice. Great job. I love these characters and the world they are a part of. Who says a girl needs to choose between the men in her life? These ladies certainly don’t. These men are put off by sharing their woman. They just take it in stride. Reese helps them as much as they help her. I am loving this series. I can’t wait for the next one. Who wouldn’t love multiple men who want to pamper and love you?
I liked that the final group of men was assembled early in this book, but I wasn’t a fan of the time jumps that skipped all the cute domestic scenes of them living together. I didn’t care about the fights or the plot—it was disappointing at best. But overall, I liked this book better than the previous one because the setting wasn’t a college full of teenagers, and all the characters were older and more mature. I’ll try Lollie’s book next.
✔️ Romantic Suspense ✔️ She doesn't like just one flavoured Candy 😉🔥 ✔️Action-packed ✔️She's a B𝖺𝖽𝖺𝗌𝗌 and fearless ✔️Dark Themes so read Author's note and triggers before proceeding.
Let me start with saying that if you like getting your boundaries tested with shades of darkness in action and wild romance then this will be a crazy awesome rollercoaster ride.
The most amazing thing this series has given me is alongwith our heroines, we don't have to choose just one hot guy we can have all five of them.
And mind you all of them are Hotness overloaded so you are in for 🔥🔥🥵🥵🌶️🌶️ times.
After Dulce's book, I was so excited for this one and My goodness has this second book surpassed my expectations.
Reese is given a new case by Sugar that demands secrecy and also only something that she can handle. As Reese of today was once Malice, strong fighter risen from the streets who'd defeated the odds and survived and made a good life for herself.
This case involves someone who's a fighter as there have been missing people from working class to vagrants and bodies being dumped unknown. The alarming factor is the number of people on the rise that are missing especially the homeless one and it comes to light that they are being forced to fight in a secret fight club.
Reese has to go back where it all started and face her past and friends she left behind. Never did she expect though that the ones she had left had never forgotten her and still cared about her.
All the clues lead to something sinister and much more mysterious about the missing people. It's all connected, as soon as Reese and her men realise they'll have to use everything that they have learned till date and enter into a fight that could cost them their lives.
To say I was shocked with the turns this one took and where it lead me, will be the least as the anticipation and preparation for the fights was so crazy good. But the suspense equally kept me on my toes and by the time we reach the big event, I FREAKING COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW THEY WOULD COME OUT OF IT AND WHEN THE SECRET HAPPENING COMES OUT. LET'S JUST SAY PREPARE TO BE SHOCKED 😳😳😱😱😱😱
Oh my. Let me just warn you all of Reese's men. They should come with a warning label of - Just One look will spontaneously combust your panties. And... Not just their Freaking Hot bodies but also their personalities had me sighing over them. I loved how they were protective about Reese and were open minded and yet respected her for who she is.
THERE ARE SOME CRAZY 𝖲𝖤𝖷𝖸 WILD TIMES THAT'LL HAVE YOUR TEMPERATURES RISING AND MAKING YOUR KINDLE MELT 🌶️🌶️🔥🔥🥵🥵
I'm so amped up seeing Reese be such a 𝖻𝖺𝖽𝖺𝗌𝗌 and the way she stays strong on her feet. That lady is crazy good at what she does but also is a big softie at heart.
At the Gym, What Reese and her men do for those teenagers who need direction and a place to come and people to connect to, had me smiling big and feeling grateful for people like Reese who provide a safe space for many someones who need it.
I can't recommend this book enough with how this one kept me guessing and also didn't make me realise where it would take me. Along with Wild times and beautiful moments, REESE will capture you with its Boldness and seduce you with its Fierce Fighters and take you on an Action-packed ride with a Sensational build-up that'll have you amped up and leaving you shocked and surprised at the end of it all. Yet the sweet moment made me smile and their wild times made this one A FREAKING MAGNIFICENT RIDE FOR ME. LOVED FREAKING LOVED THIS ONE. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is a dark book that will contain triggers for some readers. You need to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. Also Reese is a girl who is living her dream and that dream will involve more than one love interest so this is a why choose romance. This is the second book in the The Candy Shop Series. These girls are some read bad butt female assassins who all have some really special skills and they aren't afraid to use them. Reese is no exception and is the resident Candy girl hacker. A street fighter who is tough and fierce and has a past just like everyone else. But on her latest assignment, the past is about to come calling again bringing up things that she never expected to have to deal with again and places she never wanted to every put her feet back in. She use to live on the streets and on those streets she had a incident that made her disappear from the streets that she use to call home. Leaving them though she left behind people that were important to her and now those boys have grown in to men who just might be a complication she never expected. After all the streets she grew up on are also now the hunting ground for a serial killer and she is going to hunt him down and take care of them once and for all and make the streets safe again. This book is thrilling and super steamy and Reese finds things with friends old and new and she is living her best life where her love life is concerned. She is tough and fierce while also being compassionate and super kind. I could not put the book down and loved every single second of it. I can not wait to see who we get in the next Candy Shop book. I am really loving this series to very much.
I swear, with every book this author publishes, she just keeps getting better and better. I loved the first book in this series (i've been wanting the Candy Girls stories ever since they were first introduced) but this one is on a whole other level!! The suspense, the feels, the action and the twists and turns were all just so top notch, I loved every minute of it! I also loved how our author took a sensitive topic such as DID and took such a respectful reproach with it, all the while taking out society's preconceived notions of people who are diagnosed with it straight out the window. Honestly, it made me love CW that much more too.
So here we have Reese, badass candy girl who has suffered so much in her short lifetime, is being forced to return to her hometown to uncover strange disappearances, she's met with some friendly faces and some new dangerous, but nothing is as dangerous as the matters of the heart, and all of her men (hellloooo hunky man sandwich!!) will stop at nothing to protect her.
Graves (and Twitch), Blink, Vega and Law are all so different from one another, but they all bring out different sides to Reese, and she truly needs to them all to create the family she's found here. They also have SO MUCH chemistry between all of them -- I was seriously fanning myself at certain points. And even though this is told soley form her perspective, you feel all of the guys emotions and utter devotion they have for her. It's also so rare that I don't have a favorite when it comes to a RH, but here I just love all of these men and Reese. They truly are the perfect family!
Seeing Reese fight for the men she loves and to protect the town she once ran from was just so epic. You will never guess what's really happening, and all the revelations just made me that much more excited for the rest of the series. I am getting so spoiled with these women, and they are all so badass that I find myself wishing I was one of them too. (Lmao)
But seriously, if you are in the need of a RH with all the feels, heat and action, this is the book for you!!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions**
I want to go live in this book! I want to have my own harem of men, just like these ones. Willing to protect but pamper all in the same breath. With the mystery and the mayhem these characters get involved in, you can feel yourself being sucked into the world of fighting to survive. You can feel how one side of Reese struggles with the number of men she is surrounding herself with while the other side fully embraces it.
Reese may not want to be back home where she escaped her tragic past but her roots are strong. She's remembered as Malice, the one street fighter who made it out of the quagmire. The reason she has come home is to solve a case for Sugar, her boss at The Candy Shop. People are disappearing off the streets and law enforcement hasn't been able to solve the mystery. When Reese returns to the gym she secretly owns, she runs into Blink, her old friend. Suddenly he doesn't want to be just friends any more. Then her crush, Vega, shows up and he's definitely more than willing to take things up a notch. Enter Graves, another hunk of a man, who wants a piece of her and, last but not least, Law, the ex-cop who makes her internal temperature rise. With these four men, Malice will work to create a five person fighting team to get to the bottom of the disappearing city vagrants.
What happens between them as they figure out the dynamics of this new set up is beyond what any of them expects. As for whether or not they will survive to the end of the assignment, you'll just have to read this book for yourself and find out.
Another 5 Star book by Candice!!! Her books never cease to hook me in and amaze me. And the characters she creates in all her books are absolutely phenomenal. Especially the men!! They will have you swooning every time lol!!
This is Reese’s story and how she has to return to where she came from after being assigned a mission to find out what’s going and why people are turning up beaten, dead or missing. Her life has not been an easy one but she has learned to fight and stand up for herself because of it. When she returns she ends up reconnecting with a couple of guys from her past and meeting a couple others too. Graves, Blink, Vega and Law end up helping her work the case and end up a heck of a lot more than that too!! These guys and Reese bring on the heat for sure. The chemistry she has with these guys is off the charts and each guy brings so much to the relationship with Reese that she needs in each and every way.
This book has so much going on, so many twists and turns that keep you on the edge. It’s dark, it’s steamy and down right emotional at times. But that’s what I absolutely love about Candice’s books they never disappoint or leave you unsatisfied. You will also find that this series connects to her others just like they all do!! Love love love this, can’t wait to read what Candice has in store for us in the next book!! Highly recommend this book and this series of standalones!!
Meet the Candy Shop Girls, badass female assassins who don’t hesitate to utilize all of their assets in order to take down the bad guys. Unlike their title, the Candy Shop Girls are anything but sugary sweet. Reese, resident Candy girl hacker, street fighter, and all around fierce female, is on her latest assignment when her past catches up with her and things takes an unexpected turn.
What I love about a Candice Wright book is that in addition to a steamy romance, you can always count on a complex and engaging plot. Lots of action, a sprinkle of mystery with a hint of suspense, makes Reese’s story a fast-paced intriguing read.
Reese is my favorite type of heroine. Badass and brave with the tangible skills to back everything up, while also proving to be compassionate and kind. Reese assembles a unique collection of love interests ranging from old friends and crushes to new friends turned lovers. All all of the men are sexy AF and completely devoted to Reese. The spicy scenes were plentiful and well balanced with the overall storyline.
If you are an RH reader who loves a badass heroine like I do, I strongly encourage you to read this book. It’s part of an interconnected series of standalones and the first book Dulce, is available now on KU. While you don’t need to read Dulce to enjoy this book I definitely suggest you do because it’s just as good!!
Check TW. Reece is the second book in the new Candy Shop series which can be read as a standalone. Reece is a Candy Girl, a skilled female assassin who uses her body in any way necessary to get the job done and proud of it. To work her next case she has to go back to the streets she grew up on when she was homeless before becoming a Candy Girl, back to the boys (now men) she left behind. In the first book, Dulce, we briefly meet Reece and Dulce fondly describes her as being grumpy most of the time but I didn’t get that vibe from her. She had reservations starting a relationship with her men because they didn’t know who she really was now, but other than that I didn’t feel like she fought her feelings for the guys which I liked. And her guys were *chef’s kiss* because they made it known from the start they wanted Reece and were down to share. They all knew each other from the gym Reece attends to gather intel for her case. She was more cautious of getting hurt than grumpy. I wish we got the guys’ POV but Candice probably wrote the series this way because we’re not always supposed to know if the guys are hiding something or not, like in Dulce. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a steamy RH with a bit of suspense and mystery mixed in.
I knew Reese’s book would be amazing and I wasn’t let down! I loved her in Dulce’s book and saw how protective she was over her. That fierce protectiveness is just part of who she is. She comes off cold and aloof but she actually care deeply about the ones she loves and the ones who can’t defend themselves. This story just showed that she is bad to the bone as well as an amazing role model to kids who don’t have that at home. She’s thrown back into a life she left when the town she grew up in is beings targeted and people are disappearing left and right. Going back to the gym means seeing the men she left behind as well as some new faces. Blink, Vega, Graves, Glitch and Law all believe in helping the helpless and giving the tools to not be helpless to their circumstances like Reese does. These men compliment her so well. They know what she’s capable of and don’t treat her like glass. I loved seeing Reese grow into herself with the guys. And then THAT TWIST!! I didn’t see that coming at the Colosseum and seriously makes me rethink eating out. I’m glad they turned it into something positive for fighters while also giving back to her community. Also I loved Carlos he kept me laughing little rascal😂 And seeing Dulce was the best 🥹🖤
Raw and ready Reese! *reverse harem *contemporary *fmc POV only *fight based plot *morally grey characters *building harem (4/5) *fast burn 🔥 *second chance *standalone (interconnected series) Gosh Reece has a lot of backstory to her and this book does have more trauma and potential triggers! But she has risen above what she came from learning from the expression you are not what happened to you 😍 Reece missions finds herself back in the place she left behind….she left knowing she was at risk of loosing herself and her humanity, but this time she has the guys she collects anchoring her! There’s Blink the best friend who now she’s back definitely wants more; Vega her younger selfs crush who wanted her all along but worried about age; then Law the ex-cop whose willing to help and test his one morals and Graves/Glitch who knows the minute he meet Malice she was his 🥰 After defeating and walking away from the streets once Malice knows she needs to figure out what’s going on to help ‘her kids’! They see more in her than she ever saw in herself and it really gives her the confidence to fight for her future 😁 you really get behind Malice, her guys and of course Hank and what they are doing! A real heartfelt standalone with plenty of action, angst and amore 🔥
“You get one life, one shot to leave a legacy you’ll be proud of. Believe in something. Believe in yourselves. Know when to stand the fuck up and when to back the fuck down and, most of all, know when to ask for help. No man is an island. We can’t do it all alone.”
Reese is book two of The Candy Shop series of interconnected standalones. Reese has become one of my all time favorite FMC’s! She is sassy, strong, has a smart mouth and will protect her loved ones fiercely! When her job sends her back to her hometown to help stop a serial killer, she finds more than she bargains for. She is thrown back into her life as Malice, the street kid turned fighter. She meets up with old friends, Blink and Vega, and makes some new friends in Graves and Law. Each of the guy’s relationships with Reese is unique and perfect for her.
This book has action, suspense, twists, secrets, mystery, humor and spice! If you are looking for a sweet romance this isn’t it! There are sweet moments but this is a dark romance and isn’t for the faint of heart! I absolutely loved Reese and her guys and highly recommend this book!
I can't get enough of anything Candice Wright writes. She somehow keeps surprises me, even in a trope that's so popular and done so much. How do you find new and creative ways to keep the genre fresh?
By underground battle royales and whatever other secrets she has floating around in her head. I feel like my reviews are always the same. Somehow the FMC is a unique bad A, yet fragile in her own ways. But I don't mean fragile as in weak, but with her vulnerabilities that make her her. That show how strong she really is but without making her jaded.
How many different dudes can you possibly come up with and still make them desirable and fit together? Well...like Glitch. I wasn't expecting that but I loved that surprise. You don't see that much in books and I think she did it well. She handles tough topics with what I think is grace and a level of sensitivity without glamourizing it or demeaning it.
The story was epic. The love was beautiful. The spicy was spiccccyyyy. And I love love love me a shared world with fun crossovers. Candice is a one click author for me, and every time I click she solidifies that even more. Bra-freaking-vo.
I LOVE Candice Wright, I love the strength she gives her heroines, I love their confidence and their ability to take what they want and not let anyone shame them for it. And in this story Reese/Malice gets to take a lot ! 😏
This is a steamy reverse harem story and I’m here for it. Candice has a talent when it comes to this trope, she doesn’t shy away from anything and we get the whole visual picture of Reese and the four-ish men in her life.
This story is not for the weak, there are not a lot of rainbows and unicorns here, but if you like it dark and dirty with heart then this is the best series for you. This is book two in The Candy Shop series and no you don’t need to read them in order, but I do think you need to read them all. I get so excited when I get to read a Candice Wright story because I know it’s going to be a fast paced, action packed story that I can’t put down and that is exactly what this is.
If you haven’t read Candice before I don’t know what you are waiting for! Go grab these now!!
Having read Dulce back in May i've been looking so forward to more! Ever since i found out about this second installment i couldn't wait to read it! I picked it up and got right back into The Candy Shop world! I enjoyed this story!
Reese's journey grabbed my attention right from the start! As she has to face her past and certain men, I couldn't wait to see how everything would play out!
Reese had such strength. The steam between her and her men was so great! I wasn't sure what all to expect in this story and that got me so into it!
It was awesome being back in The Candy Shop world!
With Reese, Ms.Wright has created such a good and dark read with uniqueness that totally pulled me in! I am so enjoying The Candy Shop world that she's created! I am so looking forward to more from her! 💙
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Give Me Books Promotions / the author*
So where as I enjoyed the first book in this series, I can’t say the same for this one. The harem did form much more naturally and less chaotic in this book but I couldn’t get on board with Reese. Reese/Malice is sent on a job to find out about disappearing street kids who seem to be taken from the area where she grew up. And while going back, this opens a can of worms for her as she has to go in as herself, not undercover. And while the story line of this book is fine (a bit rushed at the end) and the MMCs in this book are great characters, something about it just doesn’t jive. I wanted to much more from this group and to see more than just the men catering to her every whim. I loved how we incorporated Graves/Glitch and I really did think this aspect brought more to the story. I’m sad we never got any group scenes, even though all the men in this group got along well. I’m so happy we saw Dulce again and the other Candy Girls but I’m hoping Lollies book will be better.
ARC Review of Reese by Candice Wright (Candy Shop Series) * * * * * Another crazy strong and sexy woman is here and she is about to knock your lights out! The Candy Shop is back, and Reese has rocked into the cage with this wild reverse harem read!
When homeless and vagrants start going missing in Reese's hometown, she is sent back to her past and the people she left behind to find out the happenings be behind this mysterious and disturbed disappearances. She didn't plan to get distracted by not one but two men from her past...plus another two hotties! We meet new people. We reconnect with old ones. It's a wild ride!
Blink is my little spice of comedy. Vega is one moody and needy man. Graves, baby, I gotta hold ya. Law, my man! Glitch, hello darling! (Purring) Very sexy! Very intense! Very dark! Great read and cannot wait for more wild women!
Good god i love these Candy Shop girls!!! Theyre sassy, loyal, funny but hard as nails with a little bit of craziness thrown in too. Reece's (FMC the 2nd book in The Candy Shop series) book showed all of that side of her personality but it also enlightened us to her tough and sad upbringing. Which in turn explained a lot about how she is how she is. A new assignment for her put her back in her hometown and back into the lives of her old friends/crushes. That in itself brings 4 complications - Blink, Vega, Law and Graves. I wouldnt mind those complications! lol. Amongst all of that as well as investigating Reece was funny as hell with her one-liners. The Donut Rage and the Covid ____(lmao) i died laughing at those ones. They were so bloody good. I really cant praise these books up enough. Im itching to get my hands on the next book
Reese: The Candy Shop book 2 by Candice Wright. Sugar has an assignment for Reese. People are turning up beaten to death or just right out missing. Since Reese has connections, she ends up back into a life she had left behind. Now back she not only has to solve the crime spee but navigate people from her past. First let me say that Dulce which is book 1 is not required to read this book. I liked it and if you are into a lot of sex, good hot kinky sex than this book is for you. Reese however was a story that had me all over the place. Matter of fact I had to reach out to the author while reading this book. The author blew my mind. The men in this story are everything. I was quite emotional at times. I laughed. I was sad at times and I was even mad. Each man brought something special and something different to the table. Graves was it for me. As Reese is trying to solve these crimes she learns so much about herself and how to navigate her feelings for the men in her life. She never envisioned herself settling down and giving up her life at the candy shop let alone with a man. Things happened. Minds are changed and people come into your life or back into your life. A 5 star read for me. Action packed. Loving and suspenseful.
This is the 2nd book in The Candy Shop series by this arthur and after reading Dulce's story and her men I knew I had toget my hands on Reese, because I am addicted to these girls and their stories, and this book did not let me down. Reece is a tough lady. Growing up on the streets you had to be. When a case brings her back to her hometown, she is reminded of how much the place means to her. She reconnects with two men from her past and meets two new ones who join her in finding out what is happening to the homeless who are disappearing. Graves, Blink, Vega and Law are all so different from one another, but they all bring out different sides to Reese, and she truly needs them all to create the family she's found here. They have some hot af chemistry between all of them. I can't wait for the next in the series. Definitely a must read.
Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶 Told on first person. Only in FMC POV Standalone in series RH romance
I can’t believe I’m about to say this.. but Reese’s story was so much better than Dulce. I really wish I could of ignored everything going on in my life to sit and read this story in one sitting.
I thought Reese would be different after meeting her in Dulce. I’m so happy to be wrong, because holy moly her character was 🔥.. She was a complex badass in many different great ways. First off, my favorite part was how accepting she was, which definitely showed with Grave. On top of that nothing will stop her from righting all the wrongs in this world. The fact she found men who accepted everything that she was too made her only stronger. If I could have joined her group of merry men I would have. 😂
My only complaint is the ending felt a little rushed. The story pulled me through months of back story, and once the action hit I was left with wanting more. Otherwise I absolutely loved everything. I’m definitely excited about the next book!
This is the second book in this incredible series, and this is Reese’s journey. Reese who used to be known as Malice, has had a rough and heartwrenching upbringing, as she was a former street child, who killed a man before disappearing. Now there is a serial killer using the same streets as their hunting ground, which has Reese going back to the life she left behind and facing the people who used to be in her life. This is a well written emotionally charged story, which is dark, raw, gritty, and intense, with intrigue, humor, suspense, danger, twists, trust, and is a steamy and brilliant page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Give Me Books and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed the first book in this series, Dulce, but I absolutely loved this book. This book is spicy and had me hooked right from Reese’s first job.
Reese is a strong FMC which isn’t surprising since she’s a Candi Girl but I loved her. She’s a fighter and might be my favorite Candi Girl, at least so far! I loved Blink, Vega, Graves, and Law. They were perfect for Reese and fit right into her life. Graves might be my favorite. There’s so much going on with him that I just wanted more of him.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out the job Reese is assigned but there’s so much more to the story. I really didn’t want this book to end. I wanted more of Reese and her guys! I hope we get to see more of them in future Candi Shop books.
As usual she hits all the marks. The storyline keeps you guessing. The side characters grab you as much as the main (those kids better cameo in the next book as much as our candy girls and the arm candy do) And the main characters are as diverse as ever. They may be Candy girls and eye candy, but they definitely aren't cookie cutter Shout out to Charlie for being a good boy (IYKYK) And icing on the cake, the lion gets a happily ever after. ❤️ Love to Simba for not eating Mal.
T.w talk of past abuse (child and domestic), violence and death on page. This is a reverse harem, so don't think you need warned that our girl gets any guy she wants 😏 ...and that one too 😆
