Nixon’s helping his sister’s best friend Ember move into her NYU place. As soon as he sees her, he wants to br€€d her 😈. When he finds out his sister set Ember on a date with another football player, he sees red. There’s only one thing he can do- sabotage it 💅.
It’s been months since she moved to NYU, yet she’s always noticed Nixon. Duh. He’s a defensive lineman 😅 why wouldn’t he be noticed 😉. So when he shows up on the date she was supposed to be on with one if his teammates, she doesn’t know what to think. Don’t worry. Nixon doesn’t want her to think…
He just wants her to feel 😉.
And oh… does she ever 😅.
I actually enjoyed this one more than the first one. This one encompasses many many months. So it’s Insta love ish lol. Plus. Ember has some goals in life- and I love that Nixon is supportive of it all ❤️.
And, of course, the 🔥 times were delish. Since it’s a novella, we only get two, but they’re good. I love me a man that’s all about making sure his woman is satisfied (ahem… especially when it ends a LITTLE too fast for him 😅😬). This guy will go on 🔥and on 🥵and on to make sure she’s… happy 😉.
And then we get two epilogues 🥰 one months later and the other one 7 years later ❤️. Sigh.
I wish we would’ve seen the months Nixon was obsessed with Ember instead of it being a time jump. And I wish it was longer.

I was waiting for this one, but i was really disappointed by it to be honest.
Firstly , there is no built up at all between them.
They firstly meet, and yeah they where bickering and fighting the attraction but then for 7 freaking months they don't actually act on it, even worse , WE DON'T have any chapters of them, or glimpses of them in that time being!
If not for Naomi setting her up in a blind date HE wouldn't even step up to finally claim her.
Then i tough that we will have some wooing or something, NOPE, he stopped the date, and whatever they go all the way in that first night...yep, no build up, nothing.
I needed more connection , if we had a little build up in those months ON page, and then a little slower that first night, i would've liked it more.
Why didn't the author play more with their back and forth? with his jealousy ? sigh
I though i will like this story better than Naomi's but nope, that one was way better.
After they get together they just are all in , in love etc, then epilogue.

The only bad thing I can say about this book, and it's really not a bad thing, is that it's over way too soon. I knew Nixon and Ember's story would be awesome and sexy. Can't wait for Jordan's turn.

This is book number 2 of The New York Nighthawks series and focuses on Nixon and Ember. Nixon knew from the first time he looked at Ember that she was his, but he was so focused on making his rookie year a success that he put his wants on the back burner. For seven months, he butted heads with Ember any time they were in the same room until his sister, and Ember’s best friend, decided to set her up on a blind date with Nixon’s teammate Jordan (whose story we get next!). Nixon knows that he needs to get his head out of his butt and go after his woman so what does he do? That’s right, he intercepts the date and steals her for himself. Y’all, this book was everything I knew it would be and then some!! I LOVED this story sooooo much! Like seriously, Nixon and Ember were great together! This series has been nothing short of spectacular and I can’t wait to read Jordan’s story now!

En cuanto la vio sabía que ella ocuparía cada hora y pensamiento y siendo un novato del fútbol no podía permitirse distracciones así que su escapada fue comentarios sarcásticos y así han pasado la vida estos dos. Hasta que Ember está a punto de tener una cita con uno de los compañeros de Nixon... parece que es hora de dar un paso adelante y hacer lo que tenía que haber hecho hace tiempo: reclamar a su chica.

Who knew Nixon had it in him to be a growly alpha!!!!! While it may have taken him a while to get his crap together, once he did.... oh man!!!! He knew Ember was it for him the second he laid eyes on her. However he knew that she would consume him and he was scared to let it affect his football season. When he catches wind that his sister is setting Ember up on a date with another player, he knows it's now or never. He completes the interception of his life, his forever with Ember. Ember is his perfect match and I love when she gives him crap for his possessiveness. I also really enjoyed the scene with her mom and Nixon in the hospital. I am loving this series and I can't wait for Jordan's book next.

We got a taste of how Nixon and Ember have been bickering since they met, in the first book of this series. Of course it was super obvious for the reader to see right through them.
This was insta love, but they both held off for different reasons. Nixon because he wasn’t sure he could focus on football and have a relationship as consuming as he knew he would have with Ember at the same time.
Ember because she really didn’t think Nixon found her attractive.
This little novella takes place over about 2 days. So it’s quick.
It’s also pretty dang sexy and I really enjoyed all the dirty talk and smutty ness.
I love resetting with these smutty novellas.

Nixon didn't have to be rude but I get why he was. When Ember went to go on a blind date I couldn't believe what Nixon did. I love how Nixon is such a caveman. This may be a short book but it is perfect.

Quick(ish) Review
During my bout with COVID I wanted comfort reads, the quicker and smuttier the better. This fit the bill. It’s cute, if light on pretty much everything else. Hot football player, plus size model, misunderstanding leads to kinda fake dating but not. Definitely way too fast and loose with the FmC’s decision over her own body and pregnancy which…um ok awkward but it fits this series so very much only for those into the possessive/fixated on having babies thing.

Nixon falls and he falls hard. This was funny and I loved seeing the development between Nixon and Ember after seeing them bickering in the first book. It's sweet, sexy, and just the right amount of romance.

The antagonism between them was palpable, Naomi fixes Ember up on a date with a teammate, Jordan. Heading to her blind date, Nixon is so bothered by the date, he intercepts her and convinces her to cancel her date with Jordan by confiscating her mobile without any means of escape and kissing her senseless. He then texted his teammate.
Me: Ember isn’t coming tonight.
Well, she would be, just not with him.

This is the second story in the Nighthawk football series and boy was it fun to read 🤣 Nixon helps his sisters best friend moving... Little does he know that he will meet his One. As soon as Nixon and Ember meet sparks fly and they banter like cats and dogs. Now 7 months later Nixon finally has the guts to go after his woman.... And stop her from attending a date with a teammate. 😉 Instalove, sweet, romantic , steamy and safe with a great HEA 😍😍😍😍 The epilogue makes me yearn for the next story🥰🥰🥰

Ember and Nixon have been bickering and butting heads since the moment they met. Both are hiding feelings for each other. When Embers’s bestie Naomi, who is also Nixon’s sister and his teammate Prentice’s wife, sets her up with a teammate he decides he’s claiming his woman. He grabs her before she makes it to the restaurant and texts the teammate that she’s not coming. They finally talk and have their first time together, she’s a virgin no mention of his past. During the night her dad calls, her mom fell and broke her leg. She leaves Nixon sleeping and flys home. Nixon wakes and freaks when he can’t find Ember, calls Naomi who tells him she flew home. He follows and meets her parents. More sexy times, I love yous, and a proposal. Epilogue with her finding out she’s pregnant and later with 3 kids and her pregnant with 4th.

Interception is another insta-love in the Nighthawks series.
This one I use the enemies to lovers lightly only because Nixon and Ember aren't really enemies. They just push each others buttons in a way that has people believing they hate each others guts. Oh an they can't seem to be in the same room without arguing. Rather than the brother's best friend, this one is sister's best friend romance.
Nixon has had big dreams of playing professional football. Now that he's finally made the team he's convinced his concentration needs to be on the team and playing ball first. So when he meets Ember, the feelings she stirs in him are an unwelcome distraction. So rather than act upon these feelings he pushes Ember away and plays aloof whenever they're around each other. But his plans all go down the drain when his sister decides to play matchmaker and set Ember up with another teammate. Nobody is going to be taking Ember on dates and worshipping her the way she deserves except for him.
Again the book was good. Nothing to great, but at the same time there wasn't anything wrong with it.
