Great little book. I appreciate the practical approach to Momentum in life and especially in business/your chosen craft. Dave describes his opinion (and life experience) of the idea of an “overnight success” and how that’s typically not accurate but in fact the culmination of years of training and work “suddenly” paying off in the form of success and momentum.
He also talks about how momentum can make you look better than you actually are simply by the fact that you’re winning. Conversely a lack of momentum can make you look worse than you simply because it’s not quite clicking yet.
In all of this I appreciate his consistency in approaching life and work. He pushes against the idea of getting rich quickly and talks about how the Bible points to consistency and slow, steady gain, being superior to winning the lottery. Our culture wants success and fame and riches and we all want it now. We are inundated with consumerism and it taints our ability to win “over time”. To apply ourselves and grow over the course of years or even decades.
I love ideas and can bounce between them quickly (often like a squirrel) and I’m recognizing the incredible impact of consistency and diligence.
As always, Dave Ramsey is direct and practical in his writing and advice towards money and money management. While this book may not have added too many new details from his earlier books, I highly recommend it for anyone on their debt free journey looking to maintain their moment. If you aren’t familiar with Dave Ramsey, this would still be a good introduction to get a boost in the right direction.

So many people what momentum and lack the understanding of how to creat it this book literally gives the Math equation on how to have momentum in your life in any area! Best part: the Bonus chapter at the end of the book. Simple break down helpful points and so many Bible verses throughout the book! Worst part: Is the books strength it is short. Because it is short you want it to be longer and give more but that is point of the book it is a quick simple read. Overall I loved the book would recommended
I liked this book. I developed momentum in one area of my life and I wanted to maintain it and see it manifest in other areas of my life. That's what drew me to this book. Super quick read but it told me things I already knew separately and taught me how to put it together to get the results I wanted.
Quick read. I read this book one evening after I got off work. Information was like most of Dave's information common sense on steroids, some information seemed to be recycled topics but I still give it 5 stars just because sometimes common sense is not so common or we need a reminder. I would definitely recommend reading it just because it's so short you can't really go wrong.
Great quick read! Practical, in the trenches approach to improving your life. Take an hour to read - you owe it to yourself and those you love to be the best version of “you” possible. “It’s game on, baby!”
This was a quick and easy read. It is well written and helpful teaching how being focused, gazelle intended and setting goals can propel you to reaching your goals.
I had no expectations but was pleasantly surprised.
For this year, this is going to be my little bible.
A great and quick read. I took this with me to the hospital when my wife had a baby. It was nice to have something besides tv to pass the time. There was some great truths in this.
A very short read that is highly applicable. The idea of an “overnight success” is broke down to show the true work that goes into creating long-term momentum in all areas of life.
